Czech Airlines has been in business since 1923, making it one of the oldest airlines in the world, but even with this long track history, they can still get things wrong from time to time. When they do, it’s important to express your dissatisfaction, and in this article, we’re going to show you how.

In order to help you get the best outcome possible, we’ll cover the following:

  • Common Czech Airlines complaints
  • Your passenger rights
  • Various contact options
  • What steps you should take for the best results
  • Why AirAdvisor can make the process more successful

What Passengers Complain About

In 2023, Cirium found that CSA’s on-time performance was 89% - meaning that almost 9 out of every 10 Czech Airlines flights arrived within 15 minutes of when they were supposed to land. Still, all airlines are bound to have delays and cancellations, and it happens to be what passengers complain about the most.

What Passengers Complain About

Other common complaints include bumped flights, poor customer service, cabin comfort issues, fees, and lost, delayed, or damaged baggage. Letting the airline know you are unhappy about your service could get your vouchers or discounts on future flights, but only flight disruption complaints can lead to cash payouts.

Expert Tips for a Favourable Outcome

For the very best outcome possible, try to follow these tips.

  1. Lodge your complaint as soon as you get home so that the details are still fresh in your mind.
  2. Document everything and keep detailed records of what happened. When you communicate with the airline about the issue, include this information to support your case.
  3. Keep receipts, flight details, boarding passes, booking receipts and submit these as well.
  4. Make sure you include your phone number and email so they can get back to you as quickly as possible.
  5. Tell them what you expect to get for your trouble, be clear, polite, and feel free to mention your passenger rights.

Your Rights as a Czech Airlines Passenger

Because they are based in the Czech Republic, CSA is bound by the rules found in Regulation EU261. These rules force airlines to compensate you between €250 and €600 for flights delayed by a minimum of 3 hours at your final stop. You can also get compensation if your flight was canceled, and you were given less than 2 weeks notice.

The amount of money you could get from CZA for flight disruptions is decided based on the distance of your flight. If you want to see how much you could receive, enter the basic information about your flight in our compensation calculator!
