Allegiant Air Complaints: Online Forms, Chat, Phone, and Email

Allegiant Air Complaints: Online Forms, Chat, Phone, and Email

When you fly a discount airline like Allegiant Air, you don’t expect a bunch of perks, but when significant delays, poor service, or flight cancelations happen, it’s important to file a complaint. How else will the airline improve? And you may receive compensation or other benefits for your troubles.

In 2023, Allegiant was third overall in a study of 9 US-based airlines by the Wall Street Journal. This is up 2 spots from 2022 and considers things like customer complaints, on-time performance, cancelations, and mishandled luggage. The only two airlines that fared better were Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

That said, in 2023, Allegiant’s on-time rate was only 74.39%, leaving over 25% of passengers with potentially lengthy flight delays. The airline also canceled over 350 flights, based on our data of the most reliable US airlines for 2024. From the same study, we found that in 2023, Allegiant’s consolidated review score from 9 sources was only 2.23/5. This is down from 2.46 in 2022, meaning the airline’s customers are increasingly dissatisfied. So, if you’re one of those passengers, here’s all the Allegiant Air contact information to file a complaint:

Allegiant Air Contact Info

It’s a good practice to file official Allegiant Air complaints in writing. The company offers text, live chat, and email options (an online form) for this purpose. Calling is reserved for reservation-related issues, payments, and first-time bookings. Allegiant is also present on social media, so this can be helpful when the usual channels aren’t working.

Allegiant Air Customer Service

If there is an urgency to your complaint, you may need to call. This applies when you have issues re-booking a flight due to a significant Allegiant Air disruption. If you are simply providing feedback and the Allegiant complaint doesn’t impact your ability to travel, don’t call. Write to them instead.

Allegiant Air Contact Phone Numbers

Put simply, Allegiant doesn’t want customers calling for complaints. They don’t offer a general toll-free phone line. They do have a head office toll-free number, but that is reserved for text messages.

So, hopefully, you have free long-distance calls or live in the Las Vegas area!

Pro Tips When Calling Allegiant Air

  • Try Allegiant’s online tools before the call: As mentioned, Allegiant tends to discourage complaint calls, so use the online form first or use live chat or text, which are all available 24/7.
  • Be prepared: When calling Allegiant Air’s customer service, have all your important details ready, including your booking reference, dates/times, flight number, and any previous correspondence. This will help streamline the conversation and reduce the need to call back.
  • Avoid peak times: Customer service lines can get busy, especially during lunchtime, on weekends, or after major disruptions due to bad weather. If your request isn’t urgent, try calling during off-peak hours, such as early mornings or late evenings, to reduce wait times.
  • Take notes: During your call, make sure to jot down key details, including the reference number and the main points discussed. This will make it easier to follow up on the issue later.
  • Follow up if necessary: If your issue isn’t resolved within the promised timeframe (always ask for one), don’t hesitate to follow up. Reference your case number and continue to communicate until the matter is fully addressed. Be polite and persistent.

Website Contact Forms

On the Allegiant Air “Contact Us” page, there is a section for contact options. To find the online form, you need to click on “Email Us,” which is used if you have questions, a compliment, or concerns. This will take you to a general form where you enter all your information. You’ll receive a copy of the submission to your email.

Allegiant Air Email Address

Email on Allegiant’s site is the same as the website contact form, and they don’t publish a specific email on their contact page. That said, there is a general email used predominantly for general correspondence, which is customer.relations@allegiantair.com. It’s recommended that you use the Email Us link instead, though.

Allegiant Live Chat

Allegiant offers uninterrupted service via live chat. To start, click on the dark blue chat icon at the bottom right of the Contact Us page. You’ll start with their automated chatbot, but you can type “agent” to be connected to a live representative at any point.

Allegiant Air on Social Media

Social media is a good tool to have when filing your Allegiant Air complaint using the normal process isn’t getting a satisfactory response (or getting no response at all). For both X and Instagram, use @Allegiant, and for Facebook, simply search by name.

What To Do If Allegiant Air Doesn’t Reply

Although Allegiant doesn’t publish a guaranteed response time in their Customer Service Plan, a good rule of thumb is to allow up to 30 days for a response. If you haven’t heard anything in this timeframe, it’s time to follow up or escalate. And if that doesn’t work, expose your complaint to Allegiant’s social media audience to elicit a faster reply. Lastly, you can file an official complaint with the US Department of Transportation.

Advice for Successful Allegiant Air Complaints

  • Submit your complaint right away: Filing your complaint ASAP ensures you won’t miss any deadlines set by Allegiant Air, and it keeps the details fresh in your mind.
  • Double-check your contact information: Allegiant may need to reach out for additional information or to update you on your case. Ensure you provide an accurate phone number and an email address that you check regularly to avoid delays.
  • Clearly define your desired resolution: Be specific about what outcome you’re looking for, whether it’s a refund, compensation for meals or hotel stays, or another form of resolution.
  • Include all relevant documents: When submitting your Allegiant complaint, make sure to attach any supporting materials, such as receipts, photos, boarding passes, or luggage tags.
  • Follow up and escalate: If you don’t hear back in a reasonable amount of time, don’t hesitate to follow up. Be persistent by contacting Allegiant again, and use your case number to ensure continuity in handling your issue. If that doesn’t work, escalate.

Allegiant Compensation Forms

When seeking compensation for items Allegiant covers as part of a delay or cancelation, such as hotels, transportation, meals, and other disruption-related expenses, there is no specific form to use. But, the general form has a field that asks “Is this claim regarding a rescheduled or canceled flight?” so make sure you put “yes” here. Then, add all the pertinent info in the free-form text box that asks for a detailed description of your request.

How Do Passengers File an Allegiant Air Complaint?

For complaints, the Allegiant contact method should always involve a written request. The best way is to use the general contact form that acts like an email as described above. And if you need assistance making sure you include everything, check out these templates:

What Happens When The Allegiant Email Form Doesn’t Work?

This is one of the situations where a call might be required. To follow Allegiant’s contact recommendations, try communicating the issue using live chat or text message first. They can troubleshoot to see if the issue is on your end or more widespread.

If that doesn’t work, use any other appropriate option available, including email and social media.

FAQs: Allegiant Air Complaints

What’s the Allegiant Air response time for complaints?

There is no official published response time, but a good guideline is 30 days. Within a month, you should receive at least an acknowledgment of the complaint. If there has been no resolution in 60 days, it’s time to escalate or contact the US Department of Transportation.

Are Allegiant Air flights refundable?

If your complaint relates to a canceled or delayed flight, a refund is not how Allegiant handles the situation. They will instead re-book you on another Allegiant flight. They will not re-book you on another airline. Aside from that, refunds are only available within 24 hours of the initial booking.

Only attendant literally just walked away from a long line

Jan 9, 2025
This is completely unacceptable. I arrive early so there will be less stress. They take Asheville before us, so I’m waiting. Fine. Then when Asheville is done the only attendant just walks away from the longest line I have ever seen. I just want to check my bag and be at my departure gate in time. This is not what I paid a week’s wages for. Unacceptable.

Allegiant is a cheap airline, and you expect lower quality, but low customer service has become a norm with them. I have flown with them multiple times..this was the last straw due to their responses to the below incident on November 26, 2024: Allegiant allows a personal item for free. I measured my bag prior to the airport and it fit perfectly within the size limits. Once in line for boarding, an attendant began randomly checking bags and asked for me to go up front to desk. I went up and put my bag in the sizer where it fit perfectly with ~inch on each side to spare. The attendant (while talking on phone to a friend) did not even bother to look instead charged me $75 to my credit card and gave a receipt. I got back in line and once I got to front to scan ticket they tried to charge me again. By then, the other gate attendant that I'd paid had walked away and was on Facetime with a friend. I showed the attendant my receipt and yellow tag on my bag, their response was "it is not receipt we normally give for bags so you must pay again". They then wouldn't allow me on flight unless I paid for the bag an extra time. They told me they took cash so I gave them $75 and boarded (they did not print out new receipt because they had to "rush getting everyone else boarded"). I sent complaint to Allegiant after to describe how I paid not one but two baggage fees totaling $150 for a bag that was small enough to be a personal item per their own scale at desk. All responses/ discussions I've had with Allegiant have been as if they only read first line of complaint. To summarize, I spent $150 for one bag that even if it was too big (again it wasn't I measured it right in front of them) should've charged a max $75. This means either Allegiant lies about cash or the gate attendants tipped themselves. Either way Allegiant is money hungry; they can't even acknowledge what you're showing them. Their customer service has been TERRIBLE and I have still not received refund.
