Emirates Compensation for Delayed or Cancelled Flight and Refund

Oil leak from engine. Delay of 4 hours leaving Dublin. As such missed connection in dubai. Next flight was 16 hours later. Instead of reaching Mauritius on Friday at 4pm only reached Mauritius on Saturday at 9

Flight was delayed leaving the gate by more than 2 hours then delayed another hour on the tarmac before take-off. Was informed because of bags needing to be removed from the aircraft of passengers not on board. Late arrival in Dubai meant missed connection, and being put in a hotel for the evening by Emirates and booked on the following flight at 10,15am the following dat from Dubai to Malaysia that meant final arrival in KL was 13 hours later than scheduled. Meaning I missed a whole day of the trip and also an important visa meeting that could not be rescheduled and has since severely inconvenienced me.

The initial flight (EK030 on 15 July 2023) was delayed, which meant that my family and I missed our connecting flight to Bangkok (EK376 on 16 July 2023), resulting in us arriving at our final destination 6.25 hrs late (19:40 rather than 13:25). Not only did this mean we lost half day of our holiday but we were also unable to achieve what we had planned in Bangkok for that afternoon/evening. Additional notes: 1) We were ejected from our airport lounge as we had exceeded the max stay of 3 hrs. We then approached the Emirates lounge, expecting them to accommodate us for the extra time, but we were not allowed entry. 2) We were given food vouchers at LHR, which we spent, but we had no time to spend the food vouchers given to us in DXB, as we had to rush straight through the airport to the replacement flight (EK372 instead of EK376). 3) I did not get the Diabetic meal I requested for the DXB to BKK flight (I am Type 1 Diabetic) and my wife didn't get her gluten free meal. 4) The taxi we had booked (and paid for) to take us from BKK to our hotel was not aware of the delayed flight so we had to pay another taxi firm to take us.

-Flight from Lisbon to Dubai was delayed by 2.5h -Total delay at final destination was 24h -Don't remember reason and when airline announced delay but our departure was pushed back several times -airline provided a hotel for the night at Dubai Airport plus 3 meals for the next day -I arrived 1 day late for a business trip and missed meetings -24h in Dubai without luggage, fresh clothes, medication and toiletries in Dubai. had to rebuy underwear and toiletries

 Flight EK46 from FRA (Frankfurt) to DXB (Dubai) scheduled to leave at 2:30 PM was initially delayed by an hour (see below and attachments) to 3.30 PM, and then it was announced that flight was cancelled due to damage to the aircraft. There was no mail from Emirates about the cancelled flight specifically but the status of the flight can be checked from flight tracking websites.  They rescheduled me to flight EK48 which was supposed to start at 9:20 PM from FRA on 12th November, but this flight also got delayed by more than an hour  Eventually they announced that this flight also cannot operate since it was past 11PM in Frankfurt and according to German law flights cannot take off past 11PM. They “delayed” the flight until next day 12PM (13th November) and said that it will be operating as EK8048. They provided accommodation for the night at Frankfurt where we could barely sleep for 3 hours.  Meanwhile I also got notified about a timing change on the connecting flight from DXB to BLR (scheduled for departure on 13th November at 3:40 AM), which I would not be able to catch due to the previous flight timings.  The next day’s EK8048 which was supposed to leave at 12PM from FRA was also delayed and eventually departed at around 2.15PM  Meanwhile I was notified about the change in timing of my connecting flight from DXB to BLR  Because the connecting flight was 2 nights after my arrival at DXB, they had mentioned to me at FRA that they are checking in my luggage only till DXB. But once I reached DXB (at around 11.30PM on 13th November) they gave me a baggage receipt and informed me that my luggage is already on its way to my next flight and cannot be given to me. As a result I did not have my check-in bag with me for 2 nights and 2 days. The airline provided accommodation at Dubai.  I finally boarded the EK568 on 15th November and reached Bangalore late in the morning on 16th November at 3AM. I faced the following inconveniences:  Trip Cancellation (EK46 cancelled on 12th November)  Trip Delay (total delay of 66 hours to final destination)  Missed Connection (flight from DXB to BLR scheduled for departure on 13th November 3.40AM missed due to cancellation/delays of flight from FRA to DXB)  Delay of Checked Baggage (did not receive my check-in bag in DXB for about 60 hours) I missed 3 work days due to which I'm having to work extra hours from the whole last 7 days.

Flight was delayed due to operational reason

We received 2 days before departure message below from airlines Emirates. They provided us with an alternate flight one day later but it was too late and we needed to cancel our holidays at the Maldives. "Due to operational reasons, your flight EK-2434 / 21Oct from Krakow (KRK) to Dubai (DXB), operated by Fly Dubai is cancelled and additionally a change in your flight EK-2433 / 30Oct (operated by Fly Dubai) from Dubai (DXB) to Krakow (KRK). "

MAN to DXB was delayed by 2 hours and 20 mins as per official website, that resulted in missing the connecting flight. Additionally, the rebooked flight from DXB to BOM also departed approximately an hour late and the total delay was 4 hours+ while reaching MUMBAI. First degment - MAN to DXB was on EK020 on 27th March. (delayed by 2 hours 20 mins) Original DXB to BOM was EK 0506 - Missed due to delay of first flight. Original scheduled arrival was 14.10 New flight DXB to BOM was EK502 on 28th March arrived at 18.18 Total delay of 4 hours and 8 mins.

After check in we were informed that the flight was cancelled and they asked to claim the baggage.. post another flight was provided with 7 hours delay and 15 hours layover in transit.. This caused my total travel delayed by 18hours

the travel agency notified me the flight was cancelled but denied to refund, despite a number of calls made in order to refund,

first flight rudder went wrong. Eventually flight cancelled and we were transferred to a later flight which was also delayed. at least 7 hours late arriving.

Fight canceled, there was no warning, no notification. I had to phone newcastle Airport for status on the day of the flight

After rebooking the flight three times, Emirates never gave me a notification that the flight was canceled!! I had learned that my flight by calling the airline three days before. And this happen two times in a row! I had to book my flight with another airline in order to get to my destination. Also i lost money with other flight and train tickets due to these rebooking and cancellations. I wish a refund asap! Thanks in advance, Armando

Initial my returning to Japan flight was on 7th Aug departing from Athens with Emirates. I have received a flight schedule change on 28th July that the flight schedule will be changed from 7th Aug to 6th Aug and next flight to Tokyo was in 4 days. I had had already booked my flight from Santorini to Athen on 7th Aug as well as hotel booked from 5-7th Aug which was non-refundable. To change the flight from Santorini to Athens from 7th Aug to 6th Aug with Volotea airline, it cost me additional 42.9 euros as well as hotel which it was non-refundable but could just changed the date from 5-7th Aug to 4-6th Aug and therefore, my friend couldn't change the schedule and I had to fully cover the hotel fee on 4th Aug which cost me 237 euros per night. On the date of departure from Athens to Tokyo on 6th Aug 2.5 hrs prior to the flight schedule, I was denied by Emirates to on-board as I was not holding a Corona test negative result which was not required for me on the way from Tokyo to Athens on 23rd July flying out from Tokyo to Athen (arrived on 24th July). Also Emirates had emailed me with very light communication which didn't catch my attention for the requirement of corona negative test result due to regulation change in UAE wef Aug 1, as I didn't have a test result when I checked in on 6th Aug 2.5 hours prior to the flight schedule, they had denied me on-board. Test result would have taken at least 10 hrs and I had no way to catch a flight with them, also next flight to Tokyo was in 4 days which I couldn't wait due to my work schedule hence I cancelled the flight with Emirates and re-booked a new flight with Qatar which didn't require me a corona test result as well as next day of 7th July was the departure date which cost me extra 690 Euros. Emirates told me that I can get a refund back through Travel Agent in Tokyo where I booked my flight ticket through but I am contacting them to proceed with the refund on my return flight portion but NO response from them after my 4 or 5 emails hence no refund was received.

The initial flight was supposed to take off at 20.50 but did not take off until 21.08, the flight was due to arrive in Dubai at 7.50 but did not land until 8.29 am and we therefore missed the connecting flight- the connecting flight also took off late - this took off at 9.59am and though we were at the airport we were told boarding was closed.

Incoming flight from Dubai to Manchester delayed by 2hours ( medical emergency) which we later found out to be a lie,so flight left Manchester 2 hours late. We asked to leave us to get connection but were told we had already been offloaded in Dubai,snd would fly 24 hours later! As it transpired first flight made up time ( tailwind) and connecting flight was 30 minutes late leaving,so we would have made connection but weren't given that option !

They send for me an email that my flight will be late in Dubai for 7 hours and my flight ticket was only one hour transit and i will be late six hours in the airport and i have an issues i cant walk properly and they didn’t give me any upgrades or lounge access and i have to change my flight 6 days to reach short transit so i book hotel and I spent more money because of this cancellation

My flight was scheduled for take off at 13.10pm but Emirates notified me it would be delayed until 15.30pm so I arranged with my car hire to extend a few hours due to delay. I arrived at the check in desk at 1pm and was informed my flight would be delayed until midnight and we would be put in a hotel while we wait while in hotel they informed me there would be a further delay and flight would only leave at 3.30am

My initial flight from Birmingham to Dubai was delayed by 5 hours, this meant that my connecting flight from Dubai to Brisbane was missed. As instructed by Emirates staff I went to their desk as I had missed connecting flight, however it took over 10 hours just to reach the front. This was because for the majority of the time there were no Emirates staff and it seemed that they were doing nothing, finally around the 9 hour mark 8 Emirates staff appeared and people started to be seen, this is totally unacceptable and very poor management. When I finally was seen I found out that the next flight available was not until Thursday 16th, I then asked if they can put me up in an hotel, however they said they were all booked. I then waited a total of 22 hours by the Emirates desk hoping to get a hotel, there were others around me who had only been waiting a few hours given hotels and yet I wasn't. Finally I got given details to give to the Emirates hotel desk and promised a hotel, however when I presented the details they said sorry no hotel rooms are available...at this point I gave up and booked myself a hotel for the next 3 nights. I wish to be compensated and also reimbursed for my troubles, I also ended up missing the first 4 days of my course due to the delays. I have kept all receipts of my expenses in Dubai.

Airline sent notice of delayed flight by approx 4h which would have resulted in significant delay in arrival because we would have missed the whole “wave” of departures to Australia from Dubai. I was travelling for a wedding and would have arrived approx 10 hours after scheduled arrival time, so I was forced to cancel my flight with Emirates and pay a higher price to travel with another airline (which also included an additional stopover in Sydney) so as to arrive in time for the wedding.

One of the crew members was sick so we were delayed leaving Prague for 2 hours which means I missed my connecting flight in Dubai. The only thing is the flight actually arrived at 1:20am Dubai time and the connecting flight was leaving at 1:50. Instead of putting my straight on that flight they rebooted my ticket for the next morning at 10:15 am and booked me into a hotel. This means my transit time was 41 hours and I arrived 8.5 hours later than I was meant to.

The flight EK 158 was supposed to be departed from 15.05 CEST from Arlanda airport. In stead it departed from 20.10 CEST. My connecting flight EK 570 (Scheduled at 2.20 AM) was also missed from Dubai.The airline reschedule my trip to another flight EK 572 at 13.25 PM, for which i needed to stay there in Dubai. I am not going to take Emirates as an option in future due to this as my trip from Dubai to India was really tiring and the flight EK 572 was not good at all.

Our first flight was delayed leaving London. We then arrived in Dubai with only 40minutes until our connecting. When heading to our connecting flight emirates staff told us we were rescheduled onto the next flight 24 hours later and are having to spend a night in a hotel at the airport delaying our travel by a day and in turn missing our connecting flight from Dar Es Salaam to Zanzibar and missing out on a nights accommodation.
