My flight ended up getting cancelled on Friday 1st April. The Flight was scheduled to take off at 1:30pm but this did not happen. At 5pm we got told that the plane had an engine failure and they had 1 hour and 30 minutes to try fix the issue. Then eventually around 7pm I was told that we would no longer be departing. Therefore, they had to send me to a hotel which was around 10pm. The Flight then was rescheduled the next day, Saturday 2nd April at 9:30pm (take off) and we land at Saturday 2nd April 23:30. This flight was important because my mother had an emergency back surgery in India in which I had to book this flight last minute. The airport only gave £7 in voucher for food at a coffee shop. Nothing else was provided.
We arrived at the airport at 10.30 for a flight that was at 2.15pm. The flight was delayed for 6 hours due to a technical reason, then they said it would not be flying anymore. After further delays at the airport,we were sent to a hotel and we had to take a different flight next morning. So in total the delay to reach out destination was 25.5 hours
The boarding started at the time of actual departure time. It was announced after an hour or so after boarding that there is some technical issue and then another announcement after an hour or so saying refuelling. I was almost delayed by 4 hours. Staff behaviour was rude by not providing juice or water for that 4 hours. Departure was around 4 hours late that it should have been. I had health affected by it as I didn't get any food or juice and impacted my further journey from Ahmedabad.
