The flight was supposed to depart from Manchester Airport (MAN) at 09:00 and arrive at Cancun International Airport (CUN) at 14:30, but it was delayed and I arrived at Cancun International Airport (CUN) 30 hours and 53 minutes later than scheduled. I am requesting compensation for the delayed arrival related to the flight with booking/reference number 17001996 for 2 people. Delayed WAS about 31 HOURS. We understand first three hours was due to weather condition, thats fine. At 12.00 aiport was working again and another planes goes normally, but not ours. We had problem with one of the deicer-pilot said. After a few hours on a plane the time crew's maximum legally permitted operation had elapsed. WE WERE TELLING TO GO HOME AS WAS NO SPACE FOR ANY OF HOTELS NEAR BY. The new time for a flight was next day at 11.00 but we were delayed again for the another 5 hours because tui didnt have people to clean the plane. That's information we get from tui representative at the airport. With reference to EU regulation no.EU261/04 and subsequent decision of the European Court of Justice no C-402/07 and C-432/07, I am entailed to a compensation of £520 per person. Since the travel party consists of 2 people, the total compensation requested is £1040 pounds. I hereby request a payment of the full amount within fourteen (14) days. Please direct all comunication related to the current case to me. Should the funds not be paid within the above stated deadline, I reserves the right to add interest and other reminder fees to the amount, as well as taking further legal action. Yours sincerely.
