My family and I (2 adults, 3 kids) were travelling to Cancun via Atlanta with Delta Airlines on Sunday 17th July, our flight from Dublin to Atlanta (DL177) was due to depart at 11.10am, however the actual take off time was closer to 3:15 / 3:20pm. The airline provided food vouchers of €14.70 per person when we checked in and told us the flight was due to be delayed by 2hours 30 mins (but ended up over 4 hours) and provided no reason as to the delay. We were due to have a 4 hours stop over in Atlanta before our connecting flight to Cancun, thankfully we landed at. a gate only 2 gates away from our connecting flight and we had 20mins to depart our 1st flight and run to catch our 2nd flight which we did. The issue is that we had no time for the children to take a break between flights, stretch their legs or use the toilet facilities but instead had to run between gates and hope we made the connecting flight. If any more information is required please let me know
Our flight was scheduled to depart at 12:00pm. We were given updates hourly updates of one-hour delays until the flight was cancelled at 6:00pm. We were not re-booked to fly until the following day. We arrived home 24 hours later than planned.
