I was already on board the plane when I was removed. I had not in the Schengen area for the preceding 14-day time period (flights was August 14 and I left Schengen in July. The flight was overbooked and if I had known I am denied boarding I would have volunteered and gotten some compensation. I was now given nothing but a wait-list spot for the next day. I ended up sleeping at the airport. During the check-in, I was told I should pray it doesn’t happen again, so we’ll see if I make a second claim soon after.

I will arrive at my final destination 24 hours late. At the time of takeoff, after boarding was done, the airline told us we must wait on the plane for an hour while the technicians fix a leak. After 1 hour and 15 minutes the airline told everyone to leave the plane and wait at the gate. We were given a food voucher and told to check back in another hour. After this hour passed we were told they still don’t have information about the plane and told to wait another hour. After again an hour we were told that the technicians needed to order a part and that the flight was canceled. Another hour passed before the airline told us they would make another flight the following day with all the same passengers. That we would be put up in a hotel and given meal vouchers. We waited another hour to get our luggage. Then another hour before getting on a bus they organized to get to the hotel. Totaling seven (7) hours at the airport after the flight should have departed. The airline provided a food voucher for the 2 hour wait before cancelling, a room in a hotel, transportation, flight rebooked for 24 hours later, and dinner voucher. The incident was a great inconvenience as I have an urgent and time sensitive administrative task to complete. This incident will greatly delay this. It was also an inconvenience to wait in the airport all day. I did miss an event but not money.
