Delta told us that the plane before departing JFK had some problems and had to be replaced, which indeed delayed its arrival to Lisbon, which also delayed the flight that same plane had to take from Lisbon back to JFK, that was my flight.
We found out on the last day of our honeymoon that our flight home the next day was cancelled. We got this notification from the airline via email. The airline rebooked us on a new flight leaving the day after our originally scheduled flight. Our hotel couldn’t accommodate another night so we needed to book a new hotel and deal with the additional costs for lodging, travel, food, etc. Because the flight home was a day later, we needed to negotiate with both our dog sitter and our travel accommodations from our destination airport to our home. While the airline rebooked us on another flight, it was an entire day later (Sunday) offering no options for flights home on our originally scheduled day (Saturday).
