The flight was supposed to depart from Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS) at 11:55, but was cancelled. The fact of cancellation neither the airline nor the agent (Tripsta) has failed to be communicated to me. I only knew it was cancelled 72 hours before when I checked the status of my flight. It happens that I had 2 bookings for the same flight for me and my other daughter which I have bought directly from KLM. For that I have contacted the airline and was able to get a replacement flight – no problem there but slight inconvenience. I have tried to contact KLM with regards to the this booking too, but they said they cannot do anything in this case given it was booked via travel agent. I have tried to contact Tripsta, the online travel agency that has sold me this ticket for their help in organizing me an alternative option in a similar way to KLM. Unfortunately, they refused to cooperate in a similar way KLM helped me. The only alternative they offered was 4 days later which I have refused as unacceptable. They forced me into the situation where there was no other option than to book my own alternative ticket and claim a full refund which I subsequently did, but still waiting for my money. Subsequently I have claimed the price of ticket from my Bank as I had credit card protection. Nothing has been refunded I have subsequently tried to claim compensation from KLM, but they have routed me to Transavia airlines given that they are the flight operating company. I had not received any resolution from them.
My bag was damaged on flight as it was placed in check in due to a full flight. It is now unusable and a claim was made at the airport upon arrival but the person who assisted did not log the issue and never provided the reference number for the issue. On following up further I was assisted on the 19 February but air France rejected the claim on grounds it was past 7 days. The issue not being logged was not my fault and I do not agree that I should bear the brunt because someone else did not perform their duties. The bag cost +\- ZAR2500 to replace. I have further sought assistance at the airport and logged an issue that is where I was given this link to claim.
