Julia from United Kingdom (easyJet U2 8255 Denied boarding)
March 31, 2022, 11:54 am

Myself , my partner and lots of other passengers were refused boarding onto our flight to Rome due to not having FFP masks. There was no announcement and no help from the Easy Jet Staff. They don’t even mention it until you get to the final passport check. The machines at the airport weren’t working either, we’ve approached a number of people working for Easy Jet but they had no simpathy and refused to help. When we finally found the machine and got the masks the refused us the entry onto the plane and advised that the boarding has completed. We felt it was extremely unfair as there was a large group of people and the staff knew that everyone was buying the masks from the machine. As a result we had to pay again for the new flights and spend a night at the airport. We were only going to Rome for 3 nights and we’ve already paid for our hotel and pre booked lots of sightseeing tours. It was sad to miss out on one day as it was only a short trip. What amazed me the most is when we finally got on the plane in the morning some of the easy jet crew members were wearing the usual masks and not the FFP ones! If this is the rule that everyone has to follow then I would expect the crew members to set an example and the rules should be the same for everyone including the team. We’ve managed to take some photos on the plane which can be used as an evidence.
