We were grounded and didn't leave Budapest until 10:00 PM. Then when flying into London, we were diverted and landed at London Luton airport around 2 AM instead of Gatwick, and we had to find our own way to Gatwick to catch our next flight which was in the morning.
Flight ID: LGG1TG. Expected set of at 19:45. Real time set off was after midnight. At first the airport and we have seen passengers getting off until about 20:30. Then we boarded. Then rain started to fall at around 21:00. They claimed cannot re-fuel the aircraft due to the rain but then around 23:00 they started refuelling anyway. Really disturbing story we got home after 12 hours which should have been around4-5 hours.
First at the boarding was announced the flight was overbooked, the boarding was very slow as the airport staff trying prioritize the passengers. The boarding was lasting nearly 3 hours, and the plane took off 3 hours later than sheldued. With late arrival to London I have to stay overnight in airport as all trains already gone to my city Southampton. I had to buy new coach ticket to London (£10 GBP extra) and train ticket (extra £18.9 GBP) for morning train. Got late to work and was told off by my boss. No email had been sent re delay. And the boarding pass was not been altered due delay. No care was offered
