When you fly a discount airline like Allegiant Air, you don’t expect a bunch of perks, but when significant delays, poor service, or flight cancelations happen, it’s important to file a complaint. How else will the airline improve? And you may receive compensation or other benefits for your troubles.
In 2023, Allegiant was third overall in a study of 9 US-based airlines by the Wall Street Journal. This is up 2 spots from 2022 and considers things like customer complaints, on-time performance, cancelations, and mishandled luggage. The only two airlines that fared better were Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines.
That said, in 2023, Allegiant’s on-time rate was only 74.39%, leaving over 25% of passengers with potentially lengthy flight delays. The airline also canceled over 350 flights, based on our data of the most reliable US airlines for 2024. From the same study, we found that in 2023, Allegiant’s consolidated review score from 9 sources was only 2.23/5. This is down from 2.46 in 2022, meaning the airline’s customers are increasingly dissatisfied. It’s a good practice to file official Allegiant Air complaints in writing. The company offers text, live chat, and email options (an online form) for this purpose. Calling is reserved for reservation-related issues, payments, and first-time bookings. Allegiant is also present on social media, so this can be helpful when the usual channels aren’t working.

If there is an urgency to your complaint, you may need to call. This applies when you have issues re-booking a flight due to a significant Allegiant Air disruption. On the Allegiant Air “Contact Us” page, there is a section for contact options. To find the online form, you need to click on “Email Us,” which is used if you have questions, a compliment, or concerns. This will take you to a general form where you enter all your information. You’ll receive a copy of the submission to your email.
Email on Allegiant’s site is the same as the website contact form, and they don’t publish a specific email on their contact page. That said, there is a general email used predominantly for general correspondence, which is customer.relations@allegiantair.com. It’s recommended that you use the Email Us link instead, though.

Allegiant offers uninterrupted service via live chat. To start, click on the dark blue chat icon at the bottom right of the Contact Us page. You’ll start with their automated chatbot, but you can type “agent” to be connected to a live representative at any point.
Social media is a good tool to have when filing your Allegiant Air complaint using the normal process isn’t getting a satisfactory response (or getting no response at all). For both X and Instagram, use @Allegiant, and for Facebook, simply search by name.
Although Allegiant doesn’t publish a guaranteed response time in their Customer Service Plan, a good rule of thumb is to allow up to 30 days for a response. If you haven’t heard anything in this timeframe, it’s time to follow up or escalate. And if that doesn’t work, expose your complaint to Allegiant’s social media audience to elicit a faster reply. But, the general form has a field that asks “Is this claim regarding a rescheduled or canceled flight?” so make sure you put “yes” here. There is no official published response time, but a good guideline is 30 days. Within a month, you should receive at least an acknowledgment of the complaint. If there has been no resolution in 60 days, it’s time to escalate or contact the US Department of Transportation.
If your complaint relates to a canceled or delayed flight, a refund is not how Allegiant handles the situation. They will instead re-book you on another Allegiant flight. They will not re-book you on another airline. Aside from that, refunds are only available within 24 hours of the initial booking.
