My bag was checked in at Portland Airport and I haven't seen it since. It made for a really lousy Christmas. All family gifts were in the bag.

My carry on bag was taken to be checked when I got onto the place because there wasn't enough room in the overhead compartments and I was told it would be sent to my final destination, Phoenix. I get to my layover location, Seattle, and then head to Phoenix. Once I arrived in Phoenix I went to the baggage claim to retrieve my bag. I waited about 45 minutes to an hour for my bag and nothing arrived. At this point everyone else from my flight had left with their bag. I went to the baggage information desk to ask for help finding my bag and they could not find it, took my information down, and said we will ship it to you once we have it. This whole time, a friend of mine was waiting for me at the airport. We leave the airport and as we are leaving, I get a call from the baggage information desk saying we found your bag so we looped back around to the airport and when I went inside to get my bag, my baggage tag with my name on it was attached to someone else's bag. I told her that wasn't my bag and that it must've gotten switched with another bag. My bag ended up in San Diego and it had to get flown back to Phoenix the next day.

I was on the Alaska airlines from San Fran to Los Angeles, I told them last night while I was on a layover in the airport I got extremely cold as i didn’t have a jacket and need a blanket please, they then forced me to get off the plane and said I had to be checked in order to fly again. I said I am fine I just wanted a blanket. Then they rebooked my flight to 10:35pm and my original flight was at 7:30am. I had to stay in a hotel and got a little bit of food vouchers. I arrive in my destination 24 hours later and I didn’t get my bags either.

All seven checked bags for four pas...

All seven checked bags for four passengers were delayed upon arrival in Portland on the Boston–PDX connection, despite timely customs/immigration clearance and luggage transfer at the transfer desk in Boston by the family of 4 passengers. Due to this delay, essential purchases became necessary so that two adults could attend previously scheduled professional work meetings, and two high-school students could participate in pre-scheduled academic competitions (Speech & Debate and Science Olympiad), followed by an Indian classical dance performance requiring professional makeup and costume rentals.

My luggage wasn’t on my plane when it landed on January 3rd. I was told it would be delivered to my doorstep on the 4th, they would overnight ship it to me. Without Alaska trying to contact me at all, it did not arrive on the 4th and I went to the airport to try and find out where it could be. The customer service was rude and unhelpful, and I got no confirmation on what city my bag was even in. I wasn’t sure when I would see my bag again, or if I even would.

A Gold member's review of attendant, Alaska Airlines ...

I am a Gold member Alaska Airlines client and generally have nothing but great experiences on my flights with your great flight attendants and their service standards. I was on AS605 from PHX to SEA this morning and feel that I have to write this review. Your flight attendant, Chad (Only male attendant on the flight) was not a good representation of Alaska Airlines as observed on this flight. I witnessed him talk down in a demanding fashion to more than three or four passengers on this flight. His lack of manners and general appearance were in my opinion not up to the usual standards of your airline staff. If an employee does not like their job, and find it hard to be courteous to the people that pay their salaries, they probably need to find another line of work. The remaining flight attendants on this flight were very nice, polite, and attentive.

Overall

  • close Poor attendant attitude and manors
  • closecheck The rest of the Flight Attendants!

DO NOT CHECK YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS

Hey Folks, beware this Airline destroys your luggage, looses your personal belongings and then tells you tough luck. our policies are .. A lousy $50.00 coupon for a loss of $350.00. SERIOUSLY, ONE PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR THE WORST SERVICE THAT THEY CAN POSSIBLY PROVIDE. DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE IF YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS MATTER TO YOU, BECAUSE THEY DON'T MATTER TO THIS AIRLINE.

Overall

  • close Lost my personal items, destroyed my case and offered next to nothing by way of compensation

Don’t fly Alaska Airlines

Prior to 1990, Alaska Airlines was the best, since then, they have become the absolute worst. I quit flying with them because there is always a problem. In February 2026 a humanitarian organization that I volunteer with flew me from Palm Springs to Hilo to do disaster relief work. With all the problems and delays, it took 22 hours to get there and the unlocked outside compartments on my checked bag were open and $200 worth of clothes stolen! On the return flight, one of the locks was cut off and, again, items were missing. The Alaska employee that spoke with said she could not make a report because this was not Alaska’s problem. It’s been a month now and my email to corporate has gone unanswered. Never again for me.

At the airport, despite arriving wi...

At the airport, despite arriving within the standard minimum connection time, we were not permitted to check our baggage approximately 20 minutes before departure, resulting in a missed confirmed flight. Following this, United Airlines issued replacement tickets for us onto Alaska Airlines, acknowledging the involuntary nature of the disruption. Unfortunately, the Alaska Airlines flight subsequently experienced a severe delays, an extended tarmac wait, return to gate, and final cancellation after midnight, compounding the disruption and resulting in overnight expenses. This sequence of events culminated in a late-night cancellation in San Francisco, we were blocked on the tarmac for over 1 hour causing returning to the gate at 1 am, after extended delays and lack of airport assistance, that leaded to overnight expenses, not provided by Alaska Airlines and arrival at destination the day after. Causing loss of important working meetings.
