Our flight was cancelled. We then had to hire a car and drive from Miami to Florida, spending much more money than scheduled and arriving 6 hours late.

Our flight from Milan to...

Our flight from Milan to JFK was delayed 1.5 hours causing us to miss our connecting flight from JFK to Dallas. There were no more flights available for that day, so American put us up in a hotel for the night and we had to fly out the following morning with none of our luggage.

Ongoing Issues with American Airlines

My daughter recently moved away, and my family has used American Airlines three times between October and December. Unfortunately, all three flights had significant issues, and we will never use their services again. In October, my daughter’s flight home was delayed by four hours. Passengers were boarded and had to sit on the plane for the entire delay before being moved to another aircraft. In November, I flew out to visit her. I booked my flight well in advance, but when I arrived at the airport, I discovered my departure had been inexplicably changed from Richmond, VA, to Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Airport staff resolved the issue, but it delayed my trip by an entire day, forcing me to scramble to update transportation. There was no apology, explanation, or compensation. In December, my daughter flew home to spend time with her grandmother, who has stage 4 cancer. Her flight was again changed to leave from a different state than booked, and her return flight was canceled without notice. After hours of trying to resolve it, we thought everything was finally fixed. However, at the airport, she was charged an additional $274 for reasons beyond her control. She had work the next day and no choice but to pay. That was the final straw. American Airlines has shown no remorse, offered no explanations, and made no effort to make things right. They should be ashamed. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend using them for anything.

American Airlines Mileage Points

American Airlines is fine for air travel. I have a problem with the miles program and the redemption of those miles. You are pitched on a flight that signing up for a AAadvantage card will give you a round trip ticket in the U.S. and one way to destinations international. They do not mention that the seats available on associated carriers is extremely limited and using mileage points might not be available. To our surprise, our pre-planned trip to Spain is hitting us for an additional $7000 because points travel is not available (5 months in advance). We will use our points for domestic flights as quickly as we can and cancel the cards!

The fight was canceled due to...

The fight was canceled due to a stewardess being in an accident and they could not get another stewardess from Rome in time to make our flight. We had to stay over at a hotel and get up and be back at the airport by 6 o’clock in the morning. The airline has done nothing to compensate me. I continuously Email them and all I get is an apology. The incident inconvenienced me because I Missed a court date Against the defendants in my husband‘s murder case. This left me Extremely distraught And filled with anxiety. I have asked American Airlines for full refund and I am not getting any help.

Connecting flight (MAD-EAS) was...

Connecting flight (MAD-EAS) was cancelled upon arrival at MAD. Iberia rebooked a flight to Pamplona (PNA). Travelled with a bicycle (large luggage), so was advised by Iberia Customer Service to rent a car and drive to EAS rather than fly to PNA, arriving late in evening, then rely on taxi or local transport to EAS. So did not fly final segment, but drove to EAS. Rental receipt and gas receipts attached.

Our flight was cancelled with...

Our flight was cancelled with no explanation, just hours before boarding. Being in a foreign country and coming off a cruise, we did not have many options other than to book a completely new flight and lose an additional day of travel, which cause issues with my work schedule and childcare arrangements.

I had a 12:30PM direct business class flight leaving from ATH to JFK. Im not sure what happened but the plane never arrived. I was re-directed to coach connecting through LHR to JFK on British Airways. Because of further delays in Athens I missed my connecting flight in LHR however I missed my flight because of further delays in Athens and I arrived at JFK at 11PM when I should have arrived at 4:20PM. I had meeting scheduled for Friday afternoon in New York and I missed my meeting because of the flight delays.
