Problems caused to passengers by Gulf Air staffs

Problems caused to passengers by Gulf Air staffs My name Abdul Bari Kaleel Ahmed, my falconflyer # 17460910, I mostly choose Gulf Air for travel, also I recommended my relatives, friends and co-workers to book their tickets in Gulf Air. However, before few days the behavior of the staffs in Kuwait and Jeddah was extremely uncomfortable. 1. On 03.09.2025 around 4:45 am, I boarded at the Gulf Air (GF212) counter at Kuwait Intl. Airport to travel from Kuwait to Jeddah via Bahrain. I had a suitcase weighing 5 kg and a travel bag weighing 7 kg. Since I have Ihram clothes for Umrah in suitcase, I took the suitcase in my hand. I put the travel bag in the luggage; The staff told me that the travel bag is not allowed in the luggage. She said to change it into a carton box. I spent two dinars and changed it into a new carton box and put it in the luggage. However, none of the passengers who came to Jeddah from India were told anything like this at the airport. They did not change the travel bags to carton boxes. Even when I returned, they agreed to put the travel bag in the luggage at Jeddah airport. I do not know why they behaved like this only in Kuwait. We want to know which airport staff behaved properly. In Kuwait, India, or Jeddah. It has caused mental stress and additional expenses during the journey. What is the action to be taken for this? 2. On 06.09.2025 around 11:00 am, I boarded at the Gulf Air (GF172) counter at Jeddah Intl. Airport to travel from Jeddah to Kuwait via Bahrain. I had a suitcase weighing 8 kg and a travel bag weighing 8 kg. I have a tourist visa, I purchased Zamzam water for 12.5 riyals after performing the holy Umrah. when boarding, the staff told me that, the Only those traveling on an Umrah visa are allowed to carry Zamzam water and not allowed Zamzam water even if performed Umrah on a tourist visa, they completely refused to put it in my luggage also. That time I’m unable to carry the holy water that had bought for money or sell it to others, I gave it to the airport cleaner as a gift, and I returned to Kuwait without Zamzam Water. If only those with Umrah visas were allowed to carry Zamzam water for free, why would they not allowed others to carry it in their luggage within the allowed weight limit? Do those employees know that, how much mental pain and disappointment for passengers it was too complete Umrah and return without Zamzam water? They (staffs) will get Zamzam water easily. They should realize how much trouble others have to go through. Everyone must will be eagerly waiting to drink the holy water. I usually choose Gulf Air for travel, also I recommended my relatives, friends and co-workers to book their tickets in Gulf Air. However, the behavior of the staffs in Kuwait and Jeddah was extremely uncomfortable. Thanks, and best regards. Abdul Bari Kaleel Ahmed +965 9787 2482 | abkaleel@gmail.com

Flight GF0004 Delay – Ruined Birthday & Lost Time with Family Flight GF 0145 was moved from sept 6 to sept 7 due to only 1 flight to manila per day from bahrain. I only had a 55 minutes layover so i didn't make it to my 2nd flight going to the philippines Dear Gulf Air Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the severe disruption caused by the delay of my flight GF0004, originally scheduled to depart from Manchester on September 6, 2025, and arrive in Manila, Philippines on September 7, 2025. Instead of arriving as planned, I was unexpectedly and involuntarily stranded in Bahrain for over 24 hoursβ€”on my birthday. That day, September 7, was not just a date on the calendarβ€”it was a once-a-year occasion that I had planned to spend with my family, who had gone to great lengths to prepare a surprise birthday celebration for me. Reservations were made, food was prepared, people traveled just to be thereβ€”and it was all for nothing. I live and work in Manchester and only had a limited number of days off to visit home. I sacrificed valuable work days, spent a significant amount on travel, and most importantly, I was counting on that time with my family. Being stuck alone in transit on my birthday, with no clear communication, no empathy, and no immediate support, felt not only frustratingβ€”it felt cruel. This delay cost me more than just a missed flightβ€”it cost me a once-a-year moment with my loved ones that can never be replaced. The emotional toll it took on me is beyond words. I felt helpless, angry, and completely dismissed. I am therefore demanding appropriate financial compensation for the delay and the damages it causedβ€”not just materially, but emotionally and personally. I trust Gulf Air understands the gravity of such failures and takes responsibility for the consequences it imposes on its passengers. Please respond to this matter urgently. I expect a timely and fair resolution.

boarding on Flight GF002 from London Heathrow (LHR) on 6 September 2025.Despite holding a valid UK residence visa and being eligible for a 14 day visa on arrival in the UAE, I was refused boarding at the check in counter. The staff at the check-in counter kept me waiting for over four hours to β€œverify my visa status,” during which no meaningful updates, assistance, or clarification were provided. This experience was not only frustrating but also extremely distressing and inconvenient. I showed staff my current UK immigration status directly on the gov.uk website (confirming validity), and I also presented my previous UAE entry stamp (2023, stamped at Abu Dhabi airport). None of this was given proper consideration. Instead, I was told by Gulf Air staff that I should contact the UAE Embassy to obtain a visa, despite being eligible for visa on arrival under UAE immigration rules. This was a distressing and unnecessary ordeal that caused me to miss my flight and incur financial losses.

Bahrain counter staff. Disrespectfully

I'm writing to express my disappointment with the airport luggage service counter staff's attitude and behavior. I had booked four flights (Dubai to Bahrain, Bahrain to Kuwait, Kuwait to Bahrain, and Bahrain to Dubai), but unfortunately missed my last flight back to Dubai. I requested someone to retrieve my luggage before boarding closed and asked the staff to keep it outside for me to collect later. They agreed. However, when I arrived at the airport, the luggage service counter staff told me to go to the checking counter to cancel and then collect my luggage, which would take 30 minutes. The checking counter staff, in turn, directed me to the luggage service counter. After a confusing and frustrating experience, the manager appeared and demanded payment, while another staff member blamed me for missing my flight. After two hours, I finally got my luggage back. I want to know what the problem was with the staff and why it took so long to release my luggage. Please investigate this incident with the staff on duty yesterday and provide an explanation.

Compensation Claim – Delayed Flight MAN–BAH–BOM (20th August 2025) Dear Gulf Air Customer Relations, I was booked to travel from Manchester to Mumbai via Bahrain on 20th August 2025 under booking reference FTHBNM. My scheduled flights were: GF004 – Manchester to Bahrain, scheduled 10:55 BST β†’ 20:00 Bahrain time. GF0056 – Bahrain to Mumbai, scheduled arrival 04:55 IST on 21st August. In reality, GF004 from Manchester was severely delayed, departing only around 15:50–16:30 BST on 20th August and landing in Bahrain at approximately 01:00 Bahrain time. My onward flight was also changed, and I was rebooked onto GF0064, which departed at 2:30 from Bahrain (Bahrain time) and arrived into Mumbai at 20:55 IST on 21st August. This resulted in an overall delay of more than 16 hours compared to my original itinerary. While I acknowledge the hotel, breakfast, and transfers provided, under UK261 passenger rights, I am entitled to financial compensation. As the journey originated in the UK and arrived over 3 hours late, I am requesting compensation of Β£520 per passenger. In addition, I had booked a 10:25 IST train from Mumbai on 21st August, deliberately allowing a margin for a reasonable 3–4 hour flight delay. However, the 16-hour disruption made it impossible to use this connection, wasting further time and money to reach my final destination. I therefore also had to book another train to reach my final destination and when I asked for further assistance regarding this mumbai GULF AIR team denied everything without even listening to my whole story and when i asked for the flight delay confirmation letter for the Flight they denied that request as well. And therefore, I request you to refund the train booking amount as well which was 1560 INR. Please confirm receipt of this claim, provide a case reference number, and advise how Gulf Air intends to process both the UK261 compensation and the reimbursement for my missed onward journey. I would also appreciate a written delay confirmation letter listing the scheduled and actual timings. Regards, Chirag Arora FTHBNM

I am filing a compensation claim due to being unfairly denied boarding on flight GF004 operated by Gulf Air on 2nd July 2025, from Manchester (MAN)to Bahrain (BAH). According to Gulf Air’s official website, the check-in counter closes 60 minutes before departure. The scheduled departure of my flight was 10:55 AM, and I arrived at the check-in area at approximately 09:28 AM, which was 85 minutes before departure, well within the stated check-in window. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the check-in counter had already closed. Staff on site refused to assist me and did not provide any alternative solution. I later contacted Gulf Air via email, and they responded on 28th July 2025, admitting in writing that I was refused check-in because the desk was already closed before I arrived. This directly contradicts their official policy of a 60-minute cutoff and demonstrates a failure on their part to uphold their own boarding procedures. The refusal was not due to my lateness, but due to their staff closing the check-in counter too early, 25 minutes ahead of the published deadline. The airline also admitted that the flight departed with many empty seats, meaning I could have easily boarded had the check-in been handled correctly. As a result, I incurred financial loss, emotional stress, and severe disruption to my travel plans, none of which were caused by my own actions. I believe I am eligible for compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 (or its UK equivalent) for being wrongfully denied boarding through no fault of my own. I have attached the email from Gulf Air acknowledging the early closure of the check-in counter. I am seeking compensation accordingly.

Manchester Gulf Air staff took away a puffer jacket of mine

Hello I would like to make a formal complaint regarding the Gulf Air staff involved with handling my check-in. As I highly suspect they opened my luggage without my permission and took away a puffer jacket of mine, after we finished checking in and headed for security checks. The claimed baggage codes are: GF937086 and GF937085. My mother and I were one of the last few people to check in for the GF004 10:55 Manchester to Bahrain flight, so it won’t be very hard to spot us on the CCTV and to check if they removed clothing from my luggage or not. I am certain I had a sleeveless puffer jacket in my check-in luggage and I couldn’t find it after we got home. I had unpleasant exchanges with the people handling my check-in, but the entire time I was well within my limits. I was really disappointed as those people were the ones to instigate an argument first and started insulting me and my mother by being sacarstic. This incident have also been reported to Manchester airport. I would also like to advise the Gulf Air staff involved to take greater pride in their jobs, as they didn’t have the appropriate attitude nor the appropriate appearances to be working in the customer service industry.

Not allowed to board gulf air to COK at Bharain Airport

I was travelling from Manchester to Cochin on 27-June-2025. While boarding the flight GF 4 from Manchester, there was an error at with my boarding pass at the gate, but the team said it was okay and that there won't be any issues at Bahrain. I reached Bahrain on time. While trying to board the flight to Cochin, GF 270 at 20:05 I was told that the flight was over booked and that I won't be able to travel. There was one staff who was trying to find flights for me but after hours and hours of talks with that staff I could not find any flights. I had booked specifically this flight as I it had only 1 hour layover so that I reach Cochin early to celebrate my birthday with my family and my daughter. I was then asked to go back and forth within the airport for tagging/retagging the baggage which I assume should have been done by the staff without my involvement. I went through too much of mental stress for hours which continued to Sunday the 29th of June 2025. The staff said that there are only 2 options, either stay in Bahrain till Sunday (29/06) and then take Sunday 8pm same flight to Cochin or take a flight on Saturday (28/06) at 2pm to Mumbai and then from Mumbai a flight to Cochin to reach Cochin on Sunday (29/06) 2 am. I had to choose the second option. With this itinerary I lost one day from my 28 days of vacation. I lost the opportunity to spend my birthday with my family, and I had to go through mental stress of being in another country without any knowledge of when I can see my loved ones. The staff gave me a compensation but that is only applicable for gulf air and that too for one year. With this experience I had, I don't think I would ever travel in Gulf air ever again. So the compensation is of no use. I need full refund of my booking. I would need at least that for the inconvenience I have had.

Distressing experience regarding check in from gatwick

I had a distressing experience while travelling with Gulf Air on June 1st. My flight was scheduled to depart at 11:25 AM from Gatwick Airport. Upon arriving at the check-in counter around 10:30 AM, I was assisted by a lady (probably Indian judging by the language) who refused to check in my luggage due to it being overweight. There was also an gentleman (probably Indian judging by the language) present who initially informed me I could pay for the extra weight. However, the lady at the counter later told me that the airline could not accept the extra luggage under any circumstances. I explained that since I couldn’t pay the excess fee, I would throw the extra items away. At that point, both the lady and the gentleman suggested I give the items to a cleaner at the airport. While I was still deciding, I noticed the gentleman signalling to the cleaner, who took my belongings without my clear consent. I found this completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly rushed and told I would miss the flight. However, the flight, which was supposed to depart at 11:25 AM, was significantly delayed and only took off at 12:45 PM. This false urgency added unnecessary stress to an already upsetting situation. Furthermore, I was allowed to take two cabin bags onboard, but upon boarding, I was told there was no space in the overhead bins. A stewardess instructed me to place my bags near the toilet, around seat 40 K. When we landed, I asked about my cabin luggage and was shocked to find that it had been sent to the baggage belt without my knowledge or permission. When I asked the crew why my cabin bags had been sent to the belt, they were unhelpful and responded rudely. I was especially concerned because these bags contained many valuable items. I believe this situation was poorly handled at multiple points β€” from misleading information at the check-in desk, to the inappropriate removal of my items, the unwarranted pressure, and the mishandling of my cabin baggage. I respectfully request that Gulf Air investigate this matter, including reviewing any available CCTV footage from the check-in area at Gatwick Airport around 10:30 AM on June 1. I would also appreciate a formal explanation and appropriate resolution.

At Bahrain International Airport, Gulf Air Staff booked my flight for next day around 1750 hours in Qatar Airways which will be Bahrain to Doha and Doha to Cochin, India, that will make entire trip more than 24 hours. I did check with the Gulf Air staff but they inform the claim is not available and not possible. The stay in the Bahrain Airport Hotel is very small and for a person it can become claustrophobic. Gulf Air though provided with Meals coupon but one can manage only simple meal and one bottle of water that will be 250 ML. For a person who is delayed by more than 12 hours the facilities should be provided better. The Gulf Air staff though helped out of compulsion they have been laud, had to wait for more than 3 hours to complete the process and get to alotted room in the hotel.

They did not allow me to board in the flight

My Saudia Arabis flight was at 8.05 pm from delhi to Rome via Jedah and Riyad. I reached airport arround 5 pm. I went for check in my luggage on the Saudia airline counter. When the Saudia airline staff checked my ticket then they sent me on a different counter. They said that you need the visa of saudi while i had the Europian visa with validity till april 2024. My lay over time was 1 hr 45 min at Jedah airport still they were saying to take Saudi visa. I denied and i said that i will not pay that because if this is the rule of your airline then why not you informed me during booking anf online check in. After, one hour argument, i decided to take on arrival visa. But this time, they again denied to checkin saying that your visa expiray date is less than six months. So, i will not allow to board you. Now, they stopped me at counter and no one was entertaining my query. Atlast, all the staff left the counter said that cancel your ticket now. So, i cancelled my ticket and returned back my home. I faced mental and financial loss. So, i request if you could fight for me for the compensation. Thank you.

I'm also entitled to assistance at the airport. I would appreciate your swift answer regarding the receipt of this complaint. Thanking you’

72 years old didn't get wheelchair service.

My mum is 72 years old, she was travelling by herself with many health complications(heart disease, asthma, thyroid and spine injury). She came to visit London to see me as I got cancer and I am getting surgery. I booked the flight tickets from London through a travel agency and requested wheelchair on the ticket .The airline didn't provide any wheelchair service and ,due to their negligence, my mum struggled a lot ;she was worried whether she would safely reach her destination. After she received her boarding pass in Bangladesh airport, at about 5pm a woman came with a wheelchair to help her pass immigration and asked her to pay1000TK for the service. As this is the first time my mum was travelling by herself panicked and paid the money. my mum was told that she would be back at 7pm to help board her on the plane. My mum was waiting there till 7.30pm but nobody turned up and wasn't sure whether she missed the flight or not, so she started to walk to the gate al though she was struggling with her back pain. She didn't get wheelchair service during the rest of her journey( Bahrain Airport or London Heathrow Airport). We received my mum with crying, panicking, short of breath, and she fell sick. And her one of the luggage was broken down. I couldn't imagine the GULF AIR service would be like this. I am very disappointed for their service. My mum's return date is 21st of October, but me and my other family members are worried about her returning to Bangladesh. My mum is now traumatised by her experience and is cautious of flying with gulf Airlines. In this situation, it would be impossible to send her back to Bangladesh 21st October.

Didn't get wheelchair service although it's requested on

My mum Zahanara Khan is 72 years old traveling by herself with her heart disease, asthma and spine injury to see me as I am under cancer treatment and I am her only daughter. Her ticket was booked from London through the travel agency and a wheelchair was requested. After she got her boarding pass, someone helped her pass through immigration with a wheelchair at 5pm and took TK1000 by force and said she would help her board her plane at 7pm and left her at immigration. My mum was waiting till 7.30pm and ,as she was struggling to walk and the same time she was worried and frightened whether she missed her flights,She didn't even get wheelchair service in Bahrain Airport or London Heathrow Airport. When we picked her up she was worried, frightened, cold and shivering, almost out of breath, it's not only because of the cold weather but also due to her health issues and her negative experience due to the airline's negligence. When at the Dhaka Airport they did not allow her to put her jumper in her hand carry bag, so she had nothing to keep her warm. As I am a single mother with two children and I am going through the cancer treatment and my mum was coming here to support me and my children, but due to the misconduct of GULF AIR staff while travelling from Dhaka to London, she fell sick. she has got a return ticket but she is scared of travelling Gulf Air again. It's impossible for a 72 years old woman with lots of health issues to walk, but my mum collected her baggage and using the trolley and pushing to the exit. This is really unexpected and unacceptable behaviour from Airline staff. I wish to be compensated for her experience.

Don't remember

I missed the connection in Bahrain and reached after 24 hours due to the delay here in Manchester. They did provide me the hotel stay, pick and drop from hotel but it wasted my whole day due to initial delay of almost 10+ hours from actual departure time from Manchester. I was supposed to stay with family for 18 days but that reduced to 17 days due to 24 hours delay in arrival at Multan Airport.

Technical problems

My flight from Manchester International Airport was scheduled to depart at 9:15 AM. I arrived at the airport at 6:00 AM, in line with the recommended check-in time of three hours prior to departure. Upon arrival, I encountered a significant delay at the baggage check-in due to long queues and completed the process around 8:00 AM. After boarding, I was informed of a one-hour delay. Unfortunately, the delay extended further due to a technical issue, and passengers were kept on board for over two hours. By 11:30 AM, we were informed that engineers were still addressing the problem, and we were asked to deboard. We were provided with a Β£10 food voucher as interim compensation. After further repairs, I reboarded the flight around 2:00 PM, resulting in an overall delay of approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes.

Problems at airport

Dear GULF AIR Customer Service, I am writing to formally request compensation for a recent flight delay that caused significant disruptions and hardships for me and my family. On 24/07/2024, my flight GF 2 was delayed, resulting in the cancellation of crucial appointments and meetings in India. Specifically, I had an emergency medical appointment and an important business meeting that were both missed due to the delay. This has caused considerable inconvenience and disruption to my professional and personal plans. Additionally, the delay led to unforeseen circumstances as my wife and daughter suffered from food poisoning during the journey. Both are still recovering from their illness, adding to the distress caused by the delay. Given the severity of these issues, I kindly request compensation for the flight delay as well as consideration for the additional challenges faced due to the health issues experienced by my family. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Zainul abideen choozhattu veli riyas zainulabideen0601@gmail.com Booking reference number : 7B6JW5
