Seating charges
We were booked into your flight from Seattle to London and were allocated 50F and 51F ( behind each other ) we were travelling together and wanted to sit together so we re allocated seats and had to pay Virgin Β£108 for the privilege. Once on the flight it transpired that the flight had many free available seats and we were advised by cabin crew that we could move and become more comfortable. Can we please request a refund of the charges mentioned above as we could have moved together anytwau for Free- Economy
Baggage and stroller damaged while transfer .
We had travelled with Virgin Atlantic on July6 th ,2025 from New Delhi via Heathrow airport. At the time of baggage claim at Miami International Airport ,we found one of our baggage with code 6932173351 damaged . Our stroller of kid with code 200003031718 was missing at the time of baggage claim. It was then delivered to our home address .When we got it it was also heavily scratched and damaged. I am attaching photos of damaged baggage and stroller along with it's code. I want to claim for compensation for my damaged items.- Economy

Weather conditions
The initial flight out of JFK was delayed by 2β3 hours. The airline blamed weather conditions, but it was only light rain β no storm, no severe weather advisory. The explanation was repeated several times at the gate, almost defensively, as if to preemptively shift blame away from the airline. Because of the delay, we missed our connecting flight at Heathrow. The airline provided overnight hotel accommodation and two meal vouchers, but the quality of both was poor. The hotel was substandard, and meals were minimal. Additionally, we had to collect all our checked baggage and re-check it the following morning with a different airline (KLM). This meant waking up extremely early, navigating a new terminal, and starting the check-in process from scratch β an exhausting and unnecessary hassle. As a result of the delay, we lost an entire day of our trip, missed scheduled meetings, and incurred added expenses for incidentals. The overall experience was disruptive, frustrating, and poorly managed.- New York-Mumbai

Virgin cancelled my flights 2 hours before I was ment to leave to go to the airport, I couldnβt stay another night at my hotel for $400. They didnβt rebook me onto a flight I had to call them to get a flight they didnβt know if they were able to get us on, I paid for direct flights and they made us fly to Copenhagen and wait in Copenhagen for a connecting flight. Causing major inconvenience, the airline didnβt give me a reason for cancellation, was ment to be back in London at 6:25am Sunday and didnβt land until approximately 10:30am Sunday morning.. after hours in an airport with barely any food available to purchase and a long more expensive taxi journey to a terminal further away, my flights back home were not virgin, flight I had paid a lot of money for. They flew me home on delta and SAS airlines, I paid virgin Β£180 to be able to choose my seats and I didnβt get to choose my seats on any of these airlines.- New York-London

YOU swapped my flight - Manchester
Having booked my flight last September, the earlier departure I was notified YOU had changed this to the later flight, I had assumed the earlier flight had been cancelled, on checking earlier I find the flight is still going with seats available. Can it now be arranged to swap back to the earlier flight as the journey in Florida when I land is long. Does seem very upsetting having paid for the 1st class seat that this happens, the swap should happen without any further costs to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FLIGHT REF: EIF6PB in the name of WILCOX Mobile number is - 07943877266 Thank you & hopefully you can oblige especially as I travel this journey each May R Wilcoc- Economy

Disappointing and false advertising
So, this was a special trip for our birthdays, so we decided to spend a little extra and get an upgrade for both ways. We chose Premium Economy. We feel like we were robbed for the difference in price. Yes, the seat is slightly bigger, but that really is the only difference I think. To be fair, the trip on the way out was better than the way back and here is the story of our issues. We thought about bidding for an upgrade (as that is what Virgin do now), which is a way I guess they have realised can give them more money which costs them very little. However, we couldn't really afford that, so didn't. We thought premium economy should be enough for our needs/expectations. When we set up the app however, we were unable to do the things that were advertised online, such as book our meal in advance, create a membership which meant we were unable to log our miles which apparently build up rewards for future flights. We thought that maybe this was because we had not yet travelled. We thought as Upper Class have their own luxurious lounge, that we might go to one. Personally, I believe that if flying premium economy, their partner lounges (no.1 and Aspire) should be included in the price. Our preferred lounge, No.1 was fully booked up, so we booked Aspire. It cost around Β£40-Β£50 each. It promises to include food and drinks and states it never fully books so that there is always space. This did not seem to be the case. The food was poor, one bar man with a huge queue, they ran out of glasses and people were standing as there were no tables, although one said 'reserved' on it... Anyway, we managed to find a seat and had a couple of drinks, but I would say the price was not worth the experience. The flight out was pleasant and the group stages to board seemed fair. We were welcomed on board with a glass of bubbly as promised and the staff on board were great. We had a lovely holiday. It was the flight back we really had issues with. First of all, we had still been unable to create a membership/login to an account and this time we couldn't even check in to provide the online boarding pass. When we got to the airport, there is absolutely no distinction between economy and premium economy, so it took an extremely long time to get through to the gates, whereas the upper class were welcome to sail through completely empty lanes but were nowhere to be seen (probably as taken a different route and straight through to a lounge), so premium economy should, in my opinion, have been able to utilise these lanes instead. At the gate, the boarding priorities were a farce, as all groups ended up squished on the bus that takes you to the plane, so once again, ending up queing to get to your seat which is just inside the door. Those invisible upper class were already in place. You are told that when you get on board, you are welcomed with a glass of bubbly - this was not offered this time round, it was juice or water. By now, we'd been up for 4 hours and a glass of bubbly to end th holiday would have been nice! Straight away, my husbands arm rest fell off! While he wrestled with this for a while, after around 20 minutes, a member of staff noticed and managed to ram it back into place. The food offerings on the way back were extremely poor. It was a full day flight - 10am - 5pm (although 11 hours in total). We were offered a lunch quite quickly into the flight and then expected to sleep! I've no idea why as it was daytime. The internet talks about having 'high tea' where you spend the afternoon on a flight, so I was really disappointed there was no such think on our flight back. Instead, we were offered a 'cheese roll', which I accepted but was rather revolted by - it was a chunk of foccacia, filled with rocket, a couple of slices of old look tomatoes and two tiny slices of brie inside. Just before we arrived back, we were offered a rice dish (pea risotto), or a rice dish (chicken and rice) with a pudding. I was starving by now, but still the food was below par. They say they have a 'wander wall' on board. This again was rather pathetic in it's offerings. It was a bowl with a packet of crisps, corn snacks, or a shortbread biscuit. On top of this, I think during the 11 hours there were possibly 2, maybe 3 drinks rounds. Otherwise you had to ask and they really didn't seem to want you having any more than 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks on the entire flight. As far as I was concerned, this was the end of my holiday and I had actually been looking forward to having it as part of it. Instead, I just felt like we were a chore and not worth the money we had paid to get a bit extra than you might expect in economy. Now, I would say the entertainment system is good. It is a shame you can only use their headphones, unless you have the old style wired ones, as their headphones were not great. In addition, my USB outlet did not work. As I said, I was really disappointed with my experience with Virgin Atlantic as a Premium Economy customer. When we got back, we tried to tell them about our experience, so all of the above was typed out. When I tried to send it to them, all my words were lost as the app said 'oops, we lost your form'! It was the last of the straws. I think, in the future, I would use a different airline with a comparable price over Virgin Atlantic. It has definitely gone downhill over the last 20 years, when we last flew Premium Economy with them.- Economy

Problems at airport
Our flight was turned around mid air due to the fire at Heathrow airport and headed back to JFK. Virgin also were unable to put me directly onto a new flight without me contacting them first to do so. I missed a number of personal events and appointments in the UK due to the disruption. I incured personal expenses traveling having to travel to and from the airport again for the new flight.- New York-London

DID NOT GET SPECIAL ASSISTANCE SERVICE .
I had a bad experience at Delhi Airport on 3rd December 2024.My flight was landed on time and had a connection with a code sharing flight no VS9231 operated by INDIGO to Ahmedabad. After landing when I was in Delhi Airport there was no ground uniform staff available either from Virgin Atlantic or from Indigo. I was handed over to wheelchair staff who told me that my flight to Ahmedabad is going from TN1 and TN1 is 7km away from TN3 and they are not allowed to take me to TN1 as they are TN3 staff and they cannot leave the terminal. I was scared. I am a person requiring a special assistant and was carrying my portable oxygen with me and was feeling uncomfortable after hearing this. I was a complete stranger at the airport and did not know how to go to TN1 on my own with a medical condition. I wasted nearly two hours at TN3 airport collecting my luggage and deciding what to do next. Wheelchair staff told me that I can go to TN1 by shuttle service with my luggage or can book a taxi which will take me to TN1. I have no choice but to believe him. I paid him a Rs 500 tip and Rs 200 to other wheelchair staff which they took where there was no camera. Then I have to pay for a taxi Rs100 to go to TN1 . My journey to Ahmedabad from Delhi was not pleasant and my wife suffered with me as she was also in a wheelchair with me. We reached flight VS9231 ten minutes before gate closing. I was breathless and was worried I might faint and had a lot of anxiety. In flight my oxygen level dropped to 61spo. Immediately I put my cannula on and turn on portable oxygen then I was comfortable. I was very worried. It was the worst experience I had with a reputable Virgin Atlantic Flight which was not expected especially with a person having a medical condition. I do not understand why the VA did not have ground uniform staff at Delhi Airport when passengers arrived or Indigo Uniform staff who were supposed to take me to their flight.? Donβt you have a proper procedure to hand over the passenger when there is a flight connection.?Do we have to depend on wheelchair staff? This is absolutely out of order and not acceptable .- Economy

My flight, originally booked for 28/12/24 at 20:15 PM, was rescheduled to 29/12/24 at 18:00 PM, resulting in my arrival very late on 30/12/24 at 2:20 AM. I discovered this rescheduling without any prior notification from the agency (https://www.getaflight.co.uk/), which left me unprepared and significantly disrupted my travel plans. Not only was I not informed of the change, but no explanation was provided as to why my flight was rescheduled. This lack of transparency and communication created uncertainty about my travel plans and caused undue stress. As a paying customer, I expected to be informed proactively about any changes to my booking, including the reasons behind them, which did not happen. Despite reaching out to the agency multiple times, I only received a response after persistent efforts, including making phone calls. Even after I was informed of the new schedule, the promised updated e-ticket was not sent promptly. I had to follow up repeatedly to ensure I could proceed with check-in on the day of my flight, and even then, I could not complete the check-in process online and had to do it at the airport. This delay and poor handling of communication caused considerable inconvenience, including: Uncertainty about my travel plans, as I was unaware of the rescheduling until I checked the airlineβs website. Time and effort spent on repeated follow-ups just to get basic information about my booking. Lack of proactive assistance or compensation for the disruption and inconvenience caused. As a result of this rescheduling, I arrived at my destination one day later than originally planned, severely impacting my schedule. This experience has been frustrating and deeply unsatisfactory. I am requesting compensation to address the inconvenience and stress caused by this situation. As a customer, I relied on the agency for clear communication, transparency, and professional handling of my bookingβnone of which were adequately provided in this case.- London-Sao Paulo

Financial difficulties, Stress, etc. Due to Virgin Booking
On October 20th representative, I got a telephone call telling me that my beloved sister was critically ill and that I should fly out to Jamaica to see her and that she was asking for me. In shock and extremely upset, I set about trying to get the fares to fly out to see her as I had only just returned from a visit with her and thought that she was doing well. Iβm 75 years old and live on a pension so I have very limited funds and as this was very short notice the fare was prohibitively expensive. I therefore had to borrow money to pay for the fares, something I detest doing. I managed to borrow nearly the full amount. I booked the flight immediately and got confirmation only for it to drop off again as my bank denied the payment because of insufficient funds. This was clearly an error as I had more than enough funds in my account to cover the fares. After several frantic calls to Virgin a customer service representative informed me that the person that booked my flight erroneously put it through TWICE! which would be the only explanation for the payment not going through. I contacted my bank, the funds were there but Virgin would not put it through with my debit card again and informed me that I had to go to the Virgin desk at Heathrow Airport as the machines there had the facility to put the payment through directly. I live in Crawley, Iβm already stressed, and upset and trying to prepare for an emergency flight and have to leave my house to go all the way to Crawley to pay for a flight because of the incompetence of a booking clerk at Virgin Atlantic. I get to the Virgin desk at Heathrow only to be told that I need to pay by cash as they had tried too many times to put the payment through with my debit card, this after I asked specifically if this would be a problem and was told no. I of course missed the flight I had booked and now had the utter embarrassment of asking for a further loan of Β£1,888 in cash as my bank would not release the original payment for reasons Iβm still unsure of . I spent the day going backwards and forwards from Virgin to my bank no one would help me and Iβm stuck in the UK through no fault of my own whilst Iβm sick with anxiety and worry about my beloved sister. Then I got the call I was dreading that my loved one had passed away without seeing me and me not being able to say goodbye. My grief and anger is indescribable. Iβm still recovering, I got sick brought on by grief, stress, financial worries and all because of the errors and lack of care and help from Virgin Atlantic staff at Heathrow and a booking office. Of course NO ONE will take responsibility. I spent taxi fares between Crawley and Heathrow, money to leave my luggage in lock up to save me lugging them around, and I had to sleep at the airport to ensure I would not miss the flight that I eventually got On top of everything, Iβve recently received a message to say that my return flight has changed. Iβm staying in a remote part of the Island, the new flight times are not convenient for me. I would be very grateful if Virgin Atlantic would see fit to compensate me for the pain, grief, expense and suffering I have experienced through this ordeal. I would very much appreciate a prompt response and look forward to hearing from you. Best regards. Lorna- Economy

Virgin Atlantic Booking Error
I contacted my bank, the funds were there but Virgin would not put it through with my debit card and informed me that I had to go to the Virgin desk at Heathrow Airport as the machines there had the facility to put the payment through. I travelled via Virgin Atlantic from Delhi to London on 22 Nov. 2024. I was given connecting Flight Air Canada at 11.10am from terminal 2 means giving only 1.15hrs for travelling from terminal 3 to terminal 2 to catch that connecting flight. Virgin flight reached London Airport delayed and opened exit doors after around 10 minutes of landing. I had already communicated with crew staff with need of getting out earlier as need to be there for connecting flight and they agreed to let me go early which did not happen after landing as firstly buisness class moved, then front row and so on. After getting out from flight i almost ran towards terminal 2 with my all carry bags with me but when i reached there, Air Canada boarding was closed 2 minutes before that left me with immense frustration and tears as i was travelling alone with not aware what to do later. No one was there to tell me how to get out of this terminal now as there was a way to get in and not exit way at terminal. I asked around 10 workers for what to do later and i would say 2 out of 10 people were helpful. I was walking on airport from one corner to another corner; ultimately from arrivals to departure without any guidance. Then i came to know to rebook next connecting flight by reaching terminal 2 again from airport departure side. I walked almost 21000 steps on that day just inside London airport; (i can give proof from my pedometer). Someone can imagine my situation at that time when you are alone and don't know where to go, what to do further. I was feeling all helpless with tears. I never faced this much inconvineiece before. Ultimately i got connecting flight of Air Canada for 3pm walking all way back to terminal 3 again without having anything to eat or drink and mental frustration and stress and luggage. I also got late in reaching my back home; missed few things that could be done. Till this date i am having chiropractor treatment as this travelling caused me travel related muscle injury in right arm. Things could be better if within airline they could announce that me and other 20 passengers wont be able to catch that connecting flight as this flight is delayed already so we should reschedule by going virgin booth at London airport but it did not happen. I am requesting here to compensate for my frustration, inconvienience, time wastage and uncomfortable experience with Virgin Atlantic travel.- Delhi-Toronto

Technical problems
On 9/11/24 flight VS8, reservation number is E8AYV7. The flight was scheduled to depart from LAX at 3:55 p.m and arrive at my final destination London Heathrow at 10:15 the following day but it was delayed upon arrival at LAX first until 5:05 p.m and then they canceled that flight and rescheduled me until September 12 at 10:55. They canceled the flight on Sept 11 after we had already taken off and where in the air for about and hour and their was something wrong with the aircraft which was very scary and lots of turbulance. When we landed as an emergency landing at LAX they had us wait to inspect the aircraft then had us get off with no explanation on what was next. They did not even reschedule me for the next following flight but all the way until 10:55 p.m the next day The delay cost me a loss in hotel and a full day in England. Attached are the receipts of the hotel and uber charges I inquired and food I purchased. I am also looking for a full refund on the flight $ I purchased as well as the additional fees I had to pay for due to the inconvenicane- Los Angeles-London

Unhelpful ground staff at check in
On checking in, I was informed that my Etsa was not valid because I had a new passport and that I couldnβt check in until I had a new one. The person at the check in desk waved his arm in a particular direction to get help applying for a new one, instead of asking one of the ground staff who were standing around, to take me there. I was, obviously upset and very worried about this situation. One , unfriendly member of staff insisted on repeating that my application could take 3 days! No offer of help. I was then directed to the ticket desk to see if I could get on another flight the next day. She was extremely helpful and took me over to the desk , where I applied for a new Etsa! I was waiting afterwards for the Etsa to come through. The same staff member actually came to find me to tell me that it had come through. I was so relieved because there were only 10 minutes left before check in closed!- London-San Francisco

Someone stole several items from my suitcase Stole them
Yes, as I was traveling on the 10th I had some items missing for my luggage very expensive headphones. They were pink headphones and two brand new sweaters missing out of the piece of my luggage. I thought I was actually flying with Delta only to learn once I got to the airport to check in that they sent me to a different airlines. I had a lot of trouble checking in. TSA didnβt even work with the airlines that I was flying with, my wheelchair assistance service was not available. Also on my return flight I flew with Air France and also it took me over an hour and a half to check in my luggage only only to get on the plane and the lady behind me consistently kept hitting me on my shoulder, telling me I should not reclined my chair back , causing disturbance with me several times when she would get up, she would intentionally grab the back of the seat and I have long hair which was pulling my hair. I had to talk to the stewardess several times about the inconvenience of this lady lady one Stewart has even asked me because itβs me. I should not recline my seat and rest on my way home but bye by accommodating the passenger behind me, I was very upset .. I booked through Delta because it is one of my main airlines that I like using, but had I known that it was going to be transferred to another sister Airlines I Should have been notified- Washington-London

Staff rude, overall experience pathetic
Hi there, I write to you in utter disappointment because of the most ridiculous experience with any airlines ever. Please find my detailsΒ below 1) Name - Aniesha Hotchandani Gogi2) Flight - VS303 , NEW DELHI TO LONDON HEATHROW3) Date - 18th September 20244) Booking Ref : S2352X It was the first time i ever chose to fly Virgin Atlantic and most definitely my last. I had only good things but my experience with you guys was a real nightmare. The flight was delayed (yes, maybe thats out of your control) but worse than that was the way things were so poorly managed on the flight : 1) The take off was so rushed and ill-managed - the cabin luggage compartments were not even closed in time !2) The crew was so RUDE and super non- courteous. They seem to not care at all about us - not at all respectful. That sure is so disgusting - UNACCEPATBLE. You better invest in some training and upskilling !3) After waiting for hours at the airport, hardly any food served on flight - seriously?!!! And just NO LIQUOR ! I really wish i never flew with VA and i deserve all my money back - this will surely go up across social media. Absolutely horrid and cheating customers for all the expensive flights. Lost luggage found. 3 days later told 48hrs for delivery
When I arrived at JFK on 8.18, my CHECKED luggage containing 99% of vital items and commodities, many for daily use, including MEDICATIONS (some 3 times a day for Depression, Anxiety, Hypertension, Sleeping and Eating disorder, Multivitamins), along with time sensitive documents (deadline was yesterday) for review and submission, and other vital daily items, plush perishables. As a result of not taking my daily medication, my blood pressure is up (172/143. I have a home monitor), I am experiencing dizziness and faint spells, so unable to drive or return to work, or if I do and once checked by our medical team, I would be asked to leave my vehicle in the parking lot as I am unfit to drive, and have my emergency contact or someone else take me home, or worse case, they call an ambulance to take me to the hospital, as has happened on more than one occasion in the past. I work $280 per day which is loss wages of $840 so far and was told to allow an additional 48 hours for delivery of my luggage. In short, because of this lost luggage I am set to lose a weeks pay ($1400) as my doctor told me that I have to give the medications I finally resume taking upon arrival of my luggage at least a day or two to kick in before I should resume daily routine duties. The perishables which I spent over $150 for will also have to be thrown out as they had to be kept refrigerated. I also ask that I receive additional compensation as you see fit for this dreadful experience, inconvenience and pain and suffering from Virgin Atlantic, flying with you for the very first time. Terrible experience. Please empathize in compiling your final total for my compensation, as if it gets worse my current condition may require a visit to my doctor or the ER, which will incur medical expenses. Back to my arrival at JFK that night: Two of the Delta agent at Lost and Found were rude and told me this was a Virgin Atlantic matter, when I went to the side of the desk behind the rope just to quickly query on how to do a report for my lost luggage. This was just after 9 p.m. They blatantly told me to join the line which easily had over one hundred passengers queued up, It was now past 1 a.m, when I was finally attended to. I had just come off a 8 hr flight from London and had to wait almost four hours to simply report that Virgin Atlantic had lost my checked luggage. Unacceptable. My friend was frustrated with me as we both had work at 7 a.m. We finally arrived in Hartford CT where we live just before 5 a.m. He said he was too tired to report for work. I told him I would compensate him when I get paid. My lost luggage by Virgin Atlantic had now started a domino effect on lost earnings by others affected. Hours later without even sleeping I called the 1 404 209 3043 number for Virgin Atlantic to create my case. The first agent was very helpful as she took my information and said I should call back in the afternoon for an update. I did, but the second agent was very rude and unprofessional as she insisted that this was a Delta Airlines number, and my case was with Virgin Atlantic, so I should call the 1 800 862 8621 number she gave me. I did and unlike with Delta where I spoke with a live agent, the Virgin Atlantic number I called was all automated robot instructions which got me nowhere. Out of frustration I called back the Delta number and a much more cooperative lady gave me a 1 800 880 6253 number to call which she said was for V/A USA. I did. I got a live male agent who took my file reference number and said I should call by COB for an update. I did. To my disappointment, I was told that my baggage was found and in transit but I should give it up to 48 hours to be delivered. Disappointed. I was told I would be notified also via WhatsApp. I received a message from them today basically saying they have no new updates. It also said if I need further assistance I should reply. I did, and everything was automated carrying me around in circles. Still no updates. I also received an email from Virgin Atlantic on how to track the progress of my package by clicking the link below. I have tried countless times and each time the link simply says, 'Opps. This page is currently unavailable.' So three days later and counting with still no arrival of my lost luggage. I am now sick and getting worse without my medications. I am losing pay on a daily basis with all bills due by next week. Still no update from anyone. I am just so disappointed and frustrated. I was told by many that I should sue Virgin Atlantic, as I have all the documented proof both paper and electronic. But I would rather an amicable out of court compensation/settlement. Would I fly Virgin Atlantic again or recommend it's airline? At this point, no. But maybe one day I will based on how this compensation case is settled, as I return to London for the holidays, and other countries in Europe next summer for my vacation.- London-New York

VS163 from Montego Bay to London Heathrow
On my return journey to London with 5 members of my family on the 11th July24 i was seated in 45f next to a 20st plus women who took over both armrests. I had to sit at a awkward angle for the whole flight. It was very uncomfortable. She even lifted one of the armrests so she could be more comfortable, Something that the flight crew did not see. I asked if i could be re seated but it was a full flight. So i had to sit at a angle for the whole flight. I had not flown Virgin since 2014 but after this i and my family will not be flying Virgin again. I'm really disappointed.- London-Montego Bay

Subject: Complaint Regarding Flight Delays and Luggage Issues Dear Virgin Atlantic Customer Service, I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with my recent flight experience with Virgin Atlantic. Due to multiple delays, I have missed important opportunities. My flight from Delhi departed on time, but the connecting flight in London was delayed by 1 hour and 30-40 minutes, causing me to miss my onward flight. Although the Virgin Atlantic team provided accommodation, the hotel was quite standard. I landed in London around 5 PM, but I did not receive my accommodation keys and check into the hotel until 9:30 PM, which was very inconvenient. On August 4th, I had a crucial meeting with my professor for an interview regarding a TA position. To ensure I would arrive on time, I booked my flight to land on August 3rd. Additionally, my luggage was delayed, and I did not receive it until the night of August 4th, between 7-12 PM, without any prior notification. The following morning, on August 5th, I found my two bags lying outside my house. This is unacceptable as it poses a risk of theft, and I am left wondering who would be responsible if my baggage was taken. Moreover, despite my luggage having TSA-approved locks, they were damaged upon arrival. I can provide pictures as evidence. This experience has been highly disappointing, and I do not intend to travel with Virgin Atlantic again due to the lack of care and proper service. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope you can address these issues to prevent them from happening to other passengers. Sincerely, Charan Surya Nikhil Kilana- Delhi-Dallas-Fort Worth

Rude staff
To whom it may concern With regret, I feel I need to send this email of complaint regarding a very upsetting incident that happened on my outbound flight to Seattle. My booking reference was DDF9XT, Flight no: VS4036. After finishing our meal, 2 hours in to the flight I had a very brief chat with a fellow traveller in the next aisle to me regarding my trip to Seattle where I would be visiting my daughter and grandchild. The conversation was held for maximum 5 minutes, during which a flight attendant stood over me making me feel quite intimidated and instructed "Ma'am, lower your voice this is a quiet zone!' This was said in a very stern and aggressive manner which actually shocked me as the conversation being held between myself and the other flyer was brief and at an acceptable level that would not disturb other passengers. I respectfully asked her what a "quiet zone" was as a frequent flyer I had never heard of such a thing before to which the flight attendant replied while standing directly over me " I told you to lower your voice, this is a quiet zone!" I replied " I felt I wasn't speaking loud and that I could not lower my voice anymore as the fellow passenger wouldn't have been able to hear me!" The flight attendant then told me " You WILL lower your voice or I will give you a violation " I replied " What does that mean !" To which she replied " You will be met by the police on landing and taken off the airplane!" I then replied " I can't lower my voice anymore!" The flight attendant then said " Ok. then I am giving you a violation!" then proceeded to walk towards the Cockpit. At this moment in time I was extremely upset, I was panicking thinking would I be met by the police? Will I be able to fly again? I personally felt intimidated, cornered and bullied by this flight attendant. I felt her behaviour was completely unnecessary and I felt victimised by how she spoke to me. It made me feel like I was targeted because I was in economy class. I have flown with Delta via Virgin many times over the years visiting my family in America and I have never been made to feel like this before or ever encountered such verbal aggression from one of your staff. This experience affected my whole trip and has knocked my confidence with flying with Delta again. I did complain to the flight manager, who was extremely helpful and consoled me as I was visibly shaken and crying. He removed the flight attendant to a different cabin and assured me that I would not see her again, which I didn't. He also said he was filing a report which I assume you will be able to follow up from! The flight manager also gave me the name of the flight attendant that was rude to me and he said it was Debroah Nelson. I have attached the complementary note the flight manager gave me. I am sending this email hoping this incident will be taken very seriously, as the distress this caused me not just for the rest of the flight but for the duration of my holiday and also the extreme anxiety it caused me for the flight home which caused me to have to take a sedative to relax me. Thankfully, the flight home apart from not having a working TV for the whole flight, was amazing and so were the staff. I respectfully request you to acknowledge this email of complaint and for you to act accordingly within your complaint's procedure policy. Your sincerely Mrs Jackie Theedam- London-Seattle
