Flight delay >5 hours Malaga - Amsterdam
Compensation claim under EU261 β Flight UX5042 delay on 22 February Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to claim compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 regarding a delayed flight operated by Air Europa. Flight details: Flight number: UX5042 Route: MΓ‘laga β Madrid Date: 22 February Scheduled departure: 07:45 Actual departure: after 11:00 This flight delay caused me to miss my connecting flight: Flight: KL1502 (Madrid β Amsterdam) Scheduled departure: 10:30 Original arrival in Amsterdam: 13:35 As a result, I was rebooked on a later flight from Madrid and arrived in Amsterdam at approximately 19:25 (with additional delay of arrival). This resulted in a total delay at my final destination exceeding 5 hours. This journey was booked as a single ticket via KLM (Booking reference: KL/4683713402, Flying Blue Silver). Therefore, in accordance with EU261, compensation should be assessed based on the delay at the final destination. Weather conditions were good, and no extraordinary circumstances were communicated. In addition, I incurred expenses during the delay: Meal at Madrid Airport: β¬15.45 (receipt available) Ticket details: ETKT: 074506500191703 (original ticket) ETKT: 996242612467701 (rebooked segment) I kindly request: Compensation in accordance with EU261 (expected β¬400 for this route and delay duration) Reimbursement of incurred expenses (β¬15.45) All supporting documents (boarding passes, receipts, tickets) are available and can be provided upon request. I look forward to your prompt response within the legally required timeframe.Overall

Flight cancellation - request for refund
Dear Air Europa Customer Relations Team, I am writing regarding the cancellation of my return flight from Madrid to Tel Aviv on 6 March 2026, which was booked under booking reference 7NJD4B. My name is Tamir Shlomo Ifrah, and I was scheduled to fly on Air Europa flight UX1301 from Madrid (MAD) to Tel Aviv (TLV) on 6 March 2026, as shown in the attached ticket. Unfortunately, this flight was cancelled by Air Europa, due to the war between Israel and Iran. Following the cancellation, Air Europa did not offer an alternative flight at a reasonable time, and as a result, I was left stranded abroad. Due to the cancellation, I was forced to independently purchase a replacement ticket with another airline. The earliest available flight I could find departed only on 27 March 2026, at a cost of USD 1,050 (see attached invoice). I therefore kindly request: A full refund for the cost of the replacement flight ticket (USD 1,050), which I had to purchase due to Air Europaβs cancellation. Compensation for the additional expenses incurred as a result of being stranded abroad from 6 March to 27 March 2026, including accommodation and meals, as no earlier alternative flight was offered by Air Europa. Please find attached: The original Air Europa ticket showing the cancelled flight The invoice for the replacement flight ticket I respectfully ask you to review this claim and advise on the reimbursement and compensation process. I look forward to your response and to resolving this matter promptly. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards, Tamir Shlomo Ifrah Booking reference: 7NJD4B- Madrid-Tel-aviv

Claim_Delayed_Baggage_Ramdaras
Dear Sir/Madam, I hereby submit a formal compensation claim regarding delayed baggage on my flight with Air Europa. Flight details: * Date of travel: 2 April 2026 * Route: Brussels β Madrid * Passenger name: S.R. Ramdaras * PIR reference: MADUX53281 Upon arrival in Madrid, my checked baggage did not arrive and was only delivered several days later. As a result, I had no access to any of my personal belongings for the duration of the delay. Due to this situation, I was required to purchase essential replacement items, including clothing, hygiene products, and a replacement suitcase in order to reasonably continue my trip. Given the length of the delay, these purchases were strictly necessary and proportionate. It was not possible to limit expenses further without significant inconvenience and disruption. The total cost of these necessary purchases amounts to β¬400. All expenses are clearly itemized and supported by receipts, which are attached to this claim. Under the Montreal Convention (1999), passengers are entitled to reimbursement for reasonable and necessary expenses incurred as a result of delayed baggage. Considering the circumstances and duration of the delay, I consider my claim to be fully justified. I therefore request: * Full reimbursement of β¬400 for essential replacement purchases; * Reimbursement of any additional eligible costs; * A clear and detailed explanation in case any part of my claim is not accepted. Please find attached: * PIR report * Boarding pass * Baggage tag * Receipts of purchased items If I do not receive a satisfactory response within a reasonable timeframe, I reserve the right to escalate this matter through the appropriate legal channels. I look forward to your prompt response. Yours sincerely, S.R. RamdarasOverall

Date: March 10, 2026 To: Air Europa Customer Service / Legal Department Subject: Formal Claim for Refund (Fare Difference & Rerouting) and EU 261/2004 Compensation Booking Reference: 8U5MVJ Flight Number: UX1301 (Madrid to Tel Aviv) - Scheduled for March 5th, 2026 Dear Sir/Madam, I am filing this formal claim on behalf of myself, Uzi Livne, and my wife, Rachel Shoshana Livne, regarding the cancellation of our Business Class flight from Madrid to Tel Aviv. Due to the security situation and your decision to cancel the direct service, we were rerouted to Rome as the nearest available destination. Since Air Europa failed to provide a full alternative to our final destination (Tel Aviv), we were forced to arrange our own transportation. We hereby demand the following reimbursements and compensation: 1. Fare Difference (Business Class): The original Business Class fare to Tel Aviv was approximately $1,165 per person, whereas the fare to Rome was $524. We request a refund of the difference for both passengers. Total Fare Difference Claimed: $1,282.00 2. Additional Rerouting Expenses (Out-of-Pocket): To reach Tel Aviv from Rome, we purchased the following alternative flights: Rome to Athens (Aegean Airlines): $271.07 (Invoice #4329123 attached). Athens to Tel Aviv (Arkia):$1,190.00 ($595 x 2 passengers - Invoice #5604976 attached). Total Out-of-Pocket Expenses: $1,461.07 3. Compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004: As the cancellation occurred with less than 14 days' notice, we are entitled to β¬600 per passenger as per Article 7 of the Regulation.- SΓ£o Roque-Tel-aviv

Problems at airport
On January 3rd, 2026, we traveled from Amsterdam to Asuncion (flights UX1094 and UX23). Although there was snow in Amsterdam, our flight departed. The main issue occurred during our transfer in Madrid. Detailed incident description: After landing in Madrid, we were forced to wait over 30 minutes for a second shuttle bus to transport us from the aircraft to the terminal. This delay was entirely due to ground handling logistics in Madrid, where weather conditions were normal/perfect. Because of this wait, we arrived at the gate for our connecting flight to Asuncion just 20 minutes after it had closed. Our details: Arrival at final destination: We finally arrived in Asuncion on January 4th, exactly 24 hours later than originally scheduled. Airline communication: Air Europa sent us a standard rejection letter claiming the delay was due to "weather conditions" at the airport. They refused to acknowledge the operational delay with the shuttle buses in Madrid. Care provided: The airline provided a hotel voucher and meal Inconvenience caused: This incident caused us to lose a full day of our trip. Being stranded for 24 hours in transit was exhausting and highly inconvenient. Missing events/financial loss: Due to the 24-hour delay, one of us missed a important work meeting that was held on the 4th of January. Additional evidence of operational control: It is important to note that on our rebooked flight (January 4th), the airline did wait for over an hour for other connecting passengers. This proves that the decision not to wait for us and the other connecting passengers on January 3rd was a commercial/operational choice by Air Europa and not an "extraordinary circumstance" beyond their control.- Amsterdam-Asuncion

We got to sao paulo 5 hours late I'm doing the complain for my whole family We got as well the vouchers very late and they didn't have any kosher food in the shop, we wanted to buy drinks for the kids that were so thirsty and the line for the only shop available was of a few hours I have videos confirming that, so we couldn't get any drinks. My kids were already sleeping on the plane we had to wake them up to take them out of the plane, was the worst experience I have ever hade And then they went to sleep on the floor of the airport, that was so embarassing I never thought my kids are gonna sleep on the floor of an airport I wish that I could send you video and pictures. Waiting for a quick reply Thanks I'm aware of the eu law about compensating for the delay, but I'm expecting for much more then that- Tel-aviv-Sao Paulo

I am writing to formally request compensation for my flight from Lisbon to Madrid on 19 October, flight number UX1152. The flight was scheduled to depart at 07:40 in the morning. We boarded on time, but after an hour of flight, we were informed of a technical problem and had to disembark. We boarded again at 12:45 in the afternoon. However, by 13:55 in the afternoon, we were still on the plane. As a result of this significant delay, I missed my connecting flights from Madrid to Panama and from Panama to Colombia, both booked with the same airline (Air Europa). This disruption would have caused me to be late for an important conference in Colombia. Furthermore, during this long delay, no food or drinks were provided, which added to the discomfort experienced. Now, after an hour, I am still waiting at the baggage claim and the next flight is at 4am and there is no rest area provided. This means that I will be in Cartagena at 12pm the next day, which means a delay of 13 hours. I kindly request you to provide me with appropriate compensation in accordance with the European Union Regulation EC 261/2004 for delayed flights, as well as any assistance regarding my missed flights.- Lisbon-Cartagena

I arrived at my final destination (Tel Aviv) on time as originally scheduled. However, the first leg of my journey (Cancun to Madrid) was delayed by approximately 3 hours. Air Europa staff provided inconsistent and unclear information throughout the delay. Initially, we were told the flight would be delayed by one hour, then another hour was added. The staff only spoke Spanish and could not communicate effectively in English, making it extremely difficult to understand the reason for the delay or receive accurate updates. Boarding finally began at approximately 23:40 (original departure was scheduled for 20:40). Air Europa provided NO care whatsoever during the 3-hour delay at Cancun airport. Despite EU regulations requiring airlines to provide meals, refreshments, and communication facilities for delays exceeding 2 hours, we received nothing. We were forced to purchase our own food and hot beverages at the airport at our own expense. The airline only offered a verbal apology with no actual assistance or compensation. The 3-hour delay significantly impacted our travel plans and caused substantial inconvenience. We had specifically booked this routing with a stopover in Madrid to enjoy the city before continuing to Israel. The delay drastically reduced our available time in Madrid, preventing us from enjoying the city as planned. After the stressful and exhausting delay, we needed significant rest time, which further shortened our already limited time in Madrid. We were unable to experience Madrid properly, which was one of the main purposes of choosing this particular routing. The unprofessional communication and lack of English-speaking staff added significant stress and anxiety to an already difficult situation. We lost money on food and beverages purchased at Cancun airport during the delay (which Air Europa should have provided under EU regulations). Additionally, we suffered lost opportunity cost: We specifically paid for this routing to experience Madrid, but the delay meant we couldn't enjoy the city as intended, effectively wasting part of the value of our ticket. The shortened time in Madrid meant we couldn't fully utilize pre-planned activities and experiences we had intended for this stopover. While I arrived at my final destination on time, I believe I am entitled to compensation for the 3-hour delay on the Cancun-Madrid segment, as well as reimbursement for expenses incurred due to Air Europa's failure to provide mandatory care during the delay.- Cancun-Tel-aviv

Just to add that we actually got on the bus to take us to the plane and was held on there for 45 mins in the heat with two young kids before being returned to the gate. We arrived at our final destination after midnight and had to get a taxi rather than a lift from a friend, very little information shared by the airline and no care for a young family stuck in an airport for such a length of time.- Malaga-Madrid

poor of cervices in Business calss
Dear sir/madam On the dates indicated, I had chosen to travel from Malaga to Madrid and from Madrid to London on a journalistic business trip. I traveled from Malaga to Madrid in business class, expecting the service to be up to par and in line with the airline's excellent reputation. Unfortunately, this was not the case. When the service crew came to serve me the meal designated for passengers in that class, I asked for a bag of chips instead of a sandwich, but they apologized because they had run out of chips. This apology was completely unacceptable. How could a company of this caliber fail to provide a bag of chips to a passenger who chose to travel with this company and in business class? The issue is not related to the price of the bag of chips, which does not exceed one euro, but rather to the principle and reputation of the company, which a large number of passengers choose to fly with. What happened to me made me decide to return to London, but in economy class, because I felt that traveling in business class would not offer me any advantages other than economy class. I purchased a box of chips at my own expense. I considered sharing my unacceptable experience with others through my news site. However, to protect the company's reputation, I decided to write to you about this experience, to address it so it doesn't happen again, and to compensate me for this shortcoming, not just financially, but morally. I hope you will deliver this message to the company's Chairman and General Manager. I thank you for your cooperation in this matter. My flight was cancelled after several delays, each announced one hour at a time, eventually reaching almost four hours. We were boarded, then asked to disembark, and throughout the entire process we were given no explanation for the cancellation. Only at the very end did the cabin crew mention it was due to a technical issue. The communication and handling of the situation were very poor. Arranging accommodation and dinner was slow and inefficient; we ended up having dinner at around 2:30 a.m., and the overall service was very inadequate.- Δ°stanbul-Madrid

Terrible Flight attendats and customer complaint service
My name is Sorrell Brown, and I was a passenger on Flight UX9047 from Tenerife, Spain to Madrid on March 5th 2025. I am writing to formally address the mishandling of my personal propertyβa headphone case that went missing during the flight. I am extremely dissatisfied with how this situation has been handled, and I expect a prompt resolution. My existing claim reference is : RCC-ATXGGM3 Incident Overview: During boarding, my headphone case fell out of my pocket at the front of the plane. My seat was 29C, towards the back of the plane, and I realized my case was missing after sitting down. I was informed by a flight attendant that she had found my case and placed it in the designated area at the front of the plane. Actions Taken: After landing, I asked the flight attendant if I could retrieve my headphones. She confirmed that she had placed them at the front and called to ensure the crew there had them. The attendants at the front confirmed they had the headphones, and I was told to go to the front to collect them. When I arrived at the front, the main flight attendant (a man) appeared shocked and frantic while looking for my headphones. Despite the earlier confirmation that they were there, he insisted that he could not find them. The flight attendant mentioned that the headphones may have been given to the wrong person or misplaced. He then asked me to step off the plane so other passengers could exit. I requested to return to search for the headphones myself, but he refused, stating that I had already exited the plane (even though it was he who had made me step off). The original flight attendant came to the front, confirmed she had placed the headphones there, and attempted to locate them, but the situation remained unresolved. The male flight attendant continued to be unprepared and dismissive, unable to provide a clear explanation or solution. I was then instructed to go to lost and found and see if anyone put them there. The headphones were not there I have filed a missing item report with the identifier FSAE250300133 as instructed. IT has now been 5 months and I did not get a response back from the baggage nor the complaints office that I was instructed to contact. I checked and my case has been closed with no update to me. Request for Immediate Action: However, I am extremely frustrated with how the flight attendant dismissed my situation. It is clear that something is not right, as they confirmed having my property in their possession, only for them to mishandle my item. I did exactly what I was instructed to do by your staff Given the clear mishandling of my property, I am now requesting either the immediate return of my headphones or full compensation for the value of the item ($199 USD). The situation is unacceptable, and the lack of responsibility demonstrated by your staff is alarming. I will commence with further action if this is not handledOverall

Under my booking 8L5LE8, I was supposed to travel with flights UX1082 and UX6067 from Venice to Palma via Madrid. Flight UX1082 was delayed by 1h:45mins (scheduled arrival: 13:25, actual: 15:10), which means I missed the flight UX6067. I have been rebooked on flight UX6079, which was delayed by another 1.5 hours (scheduled arrival: 18:25, actual: 20:00). To summarise: based on original booking I was supposed to arrive in Palma de Mallorca at 15:55, however I arrived at 20:00, which means 4 hours and 5 minutes of delay. Distance between Venice and Madrid is about 1400km, and Madrid to Palma around 500km. This gives total journey length of 1900 km. Based on above delay time (over 3 hours), and distance (over 1500km) I am entitled to compensation of 400 EUR under European Regulation No. 261 2004 . Please note that I would like the compensation to be paid into my bank account.- Venice-Palma de Mallorca

Booking Access Restrictions from Taiwan
Iβm writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the booking experience for your ZurichβMadrid flight. As a traveler currently based in Taiwan, I attempted to book this flight directly through your website. However, I was repeatedly blocked with vague error messages referencing βsecurity rulesβ. Even when using a VPN to simulate a European IP, I was still denied access. Eventually, I booked the flight through Booking.com (via VPN + private mode), but this workaround should not be necessary. Iβm flying within Europe and simply wanted to book ahead of timeβthere is no logical reason why my booking location should prevent me from accessing or purchasing your fare. This experience felt exclusionary and opaque. It undermines the trust I expect from a major airline and makes me question whether Air Europa values international travelers who plan responsibly. I hope youβll review your geo-access policies and ensure that travelers worldwide can book your flights without unnecessary barriers. Technical problems
My flight from Panama City to London Gatwick via Madrid (Air Europa, Booking Ref: UWK55K) was severely delayed due to a technical issue. Flight UX56 was forced to return to Panama, causing a missed connection and resulting in over 12 hours of total delay. No assistance was provided by the airline, and I was rebooked to a different London airport the next day. What time did you arrive at your final destination? We arrived at our final destination (London Gatwick) on 29 October 2024, over 12 hours later than originally scheduled, after being rebooked from a missed connection. The original arrival was meant to be in the morning, but we did not reach London until the evening of the next day, via a different London airport. What did the airline tell you, and when? Shortly after takeoff from Panama City, the captain informed us that the aircraft had suffered a technical fault and had to return to Panama. Upon landing, Air Europa staff gave minimal information and instructed passengers to wait for updates. Eventually, we were rebooked for the next day, but no clear explanation was provided in writing, and no compensation or formal delay confirmation was issued. What care did the airline provide, if any? No care was provided. We were not offered hotel accommodation, meals, or transport assistance during the overnight delay in Madrid. All arrangements and expenses for accommodation, food, and transport were paid out-of-pocket. How did the incident inconvenience you? The disruption caused extreme fatigue, confusion, and stress, particularly due to the lack of support in a foreign country. We were forced to pay for our own hotel, meals, and transport without any guidance or reassurance from the airline. Additionally, arriving at a different airport added time and cost to reach our intended destination. Did you miss an event or lose money? Yes. We incurred β¬334.63 in expenses for accommodation, meals, and transportation due to the airline's failure to provide care. We also experienced disruption to work obligations and personal plans upon returning to the UK, resulting in additional financial and logistical impact.- Panama City-London

I was left without assistance at the airport and unable to speak to Air Europa personnel, as all service desks were overcrowded and inaccessible. After various failed tries of calling UX, because of the Internet problem (connection in general) I eventually had to book a last-minute flight on KLM (KL1508) at a personal expense of β¬539.54 in order to reach my destination. While the power failure may be seen as an extraordinary circumstance, I would like to point out that the delay in departure from Havana (nearly 2 hours) significantly contributed to the missed connection. Therefore, I request: Compensation under EC 261/2004 for a missed connection (potentially up to β¬600 depending on responsibility) Reimbursement or compensation for additional expenses incurred. I would appreciate your timely response within the EU-mandated 30 days. Sincerely, S.M. Laheij MΓ‘rquez s.m.laheij@gmail.com +31 6 11259859- Havana-Amsterdam

As our first flight from AIR EUROPA from Lisbon to Madrid got delayed +3h we could not get to the next flight to Jed, so we needed to have a not planned extra night in Madrid and buy additional tickets from MAD to JED on the next day. In addition, as we were no show for that flight to JED, our reservation was canceled and we needed to book our return from JED trough Paris, so we had to buy an additional ticket from CDG to LIS and not use our already bought tickets from MAD to LIS.
