Successful claim

I originally booked a flight scheduled to depart at 9:55 am. However, when I arrived at Charles de Gaulle Airport, the airport staff were unable to find my booking in their system. As a result, I was unable to take my original flight and the airline had to rebook me onto a later flight departing at 1:15 pm. This caused me considerable inconvenience and significantly delayed my journey. Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. My checked baggage was also delayed and did not arrive with me as expected. When I finally received my suitcase, I found that it had been damaged. One of the wheels was completely missing, and there were visible signs of damage to the suitcase. More seriously, when the suitcase was delivered to me, only one of the latches was properly closed. The suitcase was partially open, with a gap along one side. This is particularly concerning because it means that my belongings could potentially have fallen out or been accessed during transportation. I am therefore very disappointed with the way both my booking and my baggage were handled. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter and explain why my original booking could not be found in the system, as well as what happened to my baggage during transportation. I would also like to request appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused by the flight change, the delay in receiving my baggage, and the damage to my suitcase. Please let me know what documents or evidence you require from me in order to process my claim. I look forward to receiving your response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter.

I was waiting at the k35 gate for boarding. I kept waiting since no announcement has been made. When the specific boarding time was almost over, but no action was noticed at gate 35, I wondered around to see if there was any updates such as weather issues that could cause delays. I then found out that the boarding gate was changed twice, and that the information on the boards at the gates can be inadequate. I lost my flight, and had to book a hotel, have a ride to and from the hotel and pay some unexpected expenses for food and drinks. I still haven’t recovered my luggage yet.

Claim escalated to airline

Dear Air France Customer Relations, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my checked baggage, which has been missing since August 7, 2026, following my flight AF1348 from Paris (CDG) to Barcelona (BCN). Passenger Details Name: Almy De Sousa Magalhaes Passport Number: PAL879044 Ticket Number: 0064822672290 PNR: OIS3R6 Baggage Tag: AF141264 Lost Baggage Reference: BCNAF69086 / 07AUG2026 / 1226 GMT Since the day my baggage was reported missing, I have made more than ten phone calls to Air France Customer Service seeking updates and assistance. Unfortunately, I have not received any concrete information regarding the whereabouts of my baggage nor a satisfactory resolution to this matter. The prolonged absence of my baggage has caused major disruption to both my personal and professional activities and has forced me to incur significant unexpected expenses. As a result, I am requesting reimbursement of the following documented expenses: Emergency clothing and personal items: EUR 772.18 Emergency medication and healthcare expenses: EUR 358.71 Additional compensation for the significant inconvenience, disruption, loss of time, and distress caused by the prolonged delay: EUR 769.11 Total Compensation Requested: EUR 1,900.00 All supporting receipts and documentation are attached. In addition, the baggage contains personal belongings with an estimated total value of EUR 4,284.00, for which I reserve all rights to claim compensation should the baggage ultimately be declared lost. The absence of my baggage adversely affected the following commitments: 07 August 2026: Arrival in Barcelona and baggage loss. 08–10 August 2026: Scheduled vacation trip (hotel reservations attached). 11 August 2026: Important business meetings. 12–16 August 2026: Business and leisure travel commitments (flight and hotel reservations attached). Throughout this entire period, I was forced to make emergency purchases to replace essential clothing, toiletries, and medication that should have been available in my checked baggage. Given the excessive delay, the lack of meaningful updates, and the considerable disruption caused, I respectfully request: Immediate reimbursement of EUR 1,900.00. A written update regarding the current status of the baggage search. Confirmation of the compensation process applicable if the baggage is officially declared lost. I trust that Air France will address this matter promptly and fairly. I look forward to your response and a swift resolution. Yours sincerely, Almy De Sousa Magalhaes Passport No. PAL879044 File Reference: BCNAF69086

History of communication with Air France — Claim C-11092922 I am seeking compensation for involuntary denied boarding due to overbooking on Air France flight AF1147 from Warsaw (WAW) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) on 13 March 2026. I had a confirmed reservation and did not voluntarily give up my seat. I was denied boarding due to overbooking and was subsequently rebooked by the airline onto Air France flight AF1047 departing at 17:25. My original flight was scheduled to depart at 13:05 and arrive at 15:40, while the replacement flight was scheduled to arrive at approximately 20:00, resulting in an arrival delay of more than three hours. Air France opened compensation case C-11092922. Since then, I have made several attempts to provide the banking information requested by Air France in order to receive the compensation. My bank details were submitted/requested multiple times, and on at least two occasions they were not accepted, without Air France providing a clear explanation as to what information was incorrect or missing. During this process, I also attempted to contact Air France through the claim system to ask specifically which part of my banking details was unacceptable. However, messages submitted through the system were not reliably displayed or preserved in the case history, making it impossible for me to verify that Air France had received them. Air France subsequently closed the claim on the basis that it had allegedly not received the requested additional information from me. I was informed that the case could be reopened if I supplied the requested information through the “Track my claim” system. When attempting to submit the information again, I identified what appears to be a technical problem with Air France’s form. My bank provides a valid Ukrainian IBAN for receiving international EUR/SWIFT transfers. The Air France form contains a separate field for the IBAN, which accepts my valid Ukrainian IBAN, but it also requires an additional “Account number” field. That field accepts a maximum of 14 numeric characters and therefore does not accept my IBAN or otherwise allow me to enter the account information supplied by my bank. The form additionally requests information such as an Identity Code, bank name, bank address and bank code. My bank has provided valid SWIFT payment instructions, including the beneficiary IBAN and the bank’s SWIFT/BIC details. On 24 August 2026, I contacted Air France again through claim C-11092922. I explained in writing that I had already attempted several times to provide the requested banking details and that the apparent issue was a technical limitation of their form. I asked Air France to: 1. confirm exactly what should be entered into the “Account number” field for a Ukrainian IBAN account; 2. provide an alternative/manual method for submitting the banking information if their form cannot process it; 3. reopen claim C-11092922; and 4. confirm that my latest response had been received and added to the case. I also attached supporting screenshots to this submission. Because previous messages appeared not to be retained correctly in Air France’s system, I preserved screenshots of the complete submission and attachments, screenshots showing the form validation error, and a screen recording of the submission process. As of my latest submission, the underlying compensation claim has not, to my knowledge, been rejected on its merits. The unresolved issue is the repeated failure to process my banking information and the technical limitation of Air France’s claim form. I have now gone through multiple rounds of communication trying to resolve what should be a straightforward payment issue, including two unexplained failures to accept my banking details and an administrative closure of the claim despite my attempts to provide the requested information. I am therefore seeking assistance in obtaining the compensation due for the involuntary denied boarding and in resolving the payment issue without having to repeat the same unsuccessful submission process again.

Short summary: Our flight of 3 january 2026, AF0751, was cancelled (information on cancellation received in the morning 3 january 2026, few hours before the flight). The flight was booked by the travel agency Voyage Privé (part of an all inclusive package containg flight and accommodation). Air France replacement flight was 2 days after the cancelled flight (Monday 5 january 2026), but since we were working on Monday, the travel agency found us an earlier flight (Sunday 4 january 2026) so we did not use the Air France flight. For both of us, I would like to request compensation based on EU Regulation 261/2004. Since : the proposed alternative route was 2 days after the cancelled flight, the flight was of more than 1500 km and it was an intra-community flight, we are entitled to receive compensation of EUR 600, under Article 7(1), point c) of the mentioned Regulation. In addition, I would also like to request reimbursement of the train tickets which we paid. Namely, once we landed to Paris on 4 January 2026, we were supposed to take the train to go home in Brussels. Since the flight was cancelled, we were not able to take the train. The train tickets were not subject to possible cancellation or reimbursement. Our tickets cost was of 41€ each (82€ total for both). Please note that we contacted Air France and our compensation and reimbursement claims were refused. You may find attached the relevant information. Thank you for your assistance. I remain available if additional clarifications are needed.

We have only booked this holiday from Friday until Monday so just a short trip/ weekend away. We arrived with no suitcase as it wasn’t added to the plane we boarded for some reason, this has really ruined our time away as we had no clothes, toiletries, shoes ect. We had limited spending money as we’re on a tight budget and we’ve used a fair bit to make do for now with clothes and necessities. Mainly most importantly I was planning on asking my partner to marry me, so that ring has not made the flight as it was in the suitcase and I didn’t want her to see it so now I can’t propose.

The delay to our luggage caused significant inconvenience and stress throughout our trip, particularly as we were travelling with young children. The children’s essential belongings, including their sleeping blankets, teddies and other comfort items that they are unable to sleep without, were all packed in the missing luggage. This caused considerable distress and disruption to their normal routine, especially when we were already away from home in a foreign country. We had to spend additional time travelling around an unfamiliar country trying to find and purchase essential clothing, toiletries and other items that we had packed in our luggage. This was extremely inconvenient and took time away from our planned holiday activities. Travelling around with young children to find replacement items was particularly difficult and stressful. The situation was also especially difficult because my mum was travelling with us and has a cancer diagnosis. The additional travelling, uncertainty and stress caused by the missing luggage had a significant impact on her wellbeing and made her feel unwell during the trip. Instead of being able to relax and enjoy our holiday, we had the ongoing worry of when our belongings would arrive and had to make repeated arrangements around the missing luggage. Overall, the delayed luggage caused considerable disruption, additional expense, emotional stress and inconvenience for our whole family. It affected the children’s comfort and routine, placed additional strain on my mum, and significantly affected our ability to enjoy and make the most of our holiday. The airline did not allow any cash allowance for us either so we had to use our own savings that were suppose to be for our holiday to buy essentials that we needed. We did not recieve our luggage until the 4th day of our holiday. The holiday was only a 6 day trip therefore we did not have our essentials for most of it.

Our flight was from CDG (Paris) to EZE (Bs As) at 13.25 the 25 July, we arrived at the Air France desk with plenty of time at 10am, 10.20am we were paying our extra luggage (I have the ticket) for 100 euros each (special extra lugagge for bikes) after that our problems with the airline started. The man who was attending us start looking for trouble with our lugagge, why we didn't buy it in advance, start calling other person to ask about this, after checking the weight they start complaining, asking and looking for what we have inside the bikes travel bags, asked us to take some things to get the exact weight of 23kg each, we did everything they asked for, but they where clearly spending time and didn't like that we arrived with the check in done it online but not with the extra lugagge tickets (we think this is the reason because last year we had the same problem with them in Paris when trying to add extra oversized luggage) Then thay said we couldn't take those things with us as hand lugagge (we had this included) we asked them to hurry because we were spending too much time and need to get the flight door in CDG that wasn't near, offer them to pay more for those kg, thay said thay couldn't do that, keep taking between them in french so we couldn't understand, or calling other airline staff, and this is how that made us spend more than 2hs since we arrived at their desk. When they finally allow us to check the bike luggage in the special door for oversized lugagge it was to late, we pass police and migration control with priority, we run to the door but wasn't enough, the door was closed and they didn't allow us to get into the plane although we explain all the situation and the time we lost because of their fault when we had payed our extra luggage on time at the airport and did the check in on line the day before. After that they started sending us from one customer service to another, we finally had to past migration control again, and pay for a new ticket to take the next flight to bs as via Amsterdan (our original was direct) arriving next day 26/07 7am instead of 25/07 21.50, paying 3000 euros, loosing 4hs more at the airport trying to explain what happened because of their ineffectiveness, without eating, loosing my sister 40´s birthday party the night of 25th July in Bs As, and waiting 2 days for our bikes to finally arrived home with missing objets.

Upon our arrival in Beijing, we discovered that one piece of checked baggage had not arrived. We immediately reported the missing baggage to the baggage claim service at Beijing Airport, where we were informed that the suitcase had been delayed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. At the same time, we found that three of our checked suitcases had been severely damaged. We reported the damage to the baggage claim service at Beijing Airport. The baggage service agent inspected the luggage, confirmed the damage, and issued an official baggage damage report. A copy of this report has been uploaded as supporting documentation.

I was on a business trip and my entire belongings was in this checked in bag that was missing for 2 full days. The last time I saw it was in JFK. When I arrived to Linate, after waiting 1 hour my bag never arrived at the baggage claim. I went to file a PIR report before leaving at Linate. Airline did not provide any cash or allowance for incidentals. Linate airport staff informed me the item would arrive in a few hours the same day on Monday July 20. The baggage wasn’t available until 48 hours later. They provided me inaccurate information. I had to switch hotels to be closer to airport. I had business uniforms worth $5000 missing for executive meetings that costed me significant amount of income to company.

Fraud and nasty customer service in kLM

My dog and I were meant to travel for a dog show in Lagos Nigeria. I had other dogs registered for the show. It also was on arrival in Lagos, meant to mate with three bitches for which I get paid. I got my ticket then my dogs ticket. On arrival at the airport, I was told my dog was not on the manifest so I could travel but not my dog. I was asked to call customer service. On calling, the daft girl who did not speak good English asked me why I did not called the airport before going. The next day, the other customer service staff told me it was not their fault I was a no show. Its been two months now. I was not boarded and now falsely imprisoned as they have no news on the way forward. I wrote to the KLM head offices and yet to get a response. Now I checked and saw I would be refunded for my ticket but not my dog. What happens to the export license? Import license and monies lost. The most hilarious part is my dogs ticket cannot be refunded even though they were the irresponsible one that did not put his name on the manifest. I have all records and intend to sue them as they are causing me massive mental health issues

Overall

  • close my dog had a ticket but was not on the list to be boarded . Customer service is filled with people who have no clue and English not their first language. A daft one asked why I did not call the airport before going to the airport thought we both had ticke

Four checked bags were delayed upon our arrival. Three of the bags were returned only after approximately 4-6 days, while one bag remains missing as of the date of this claim. Due to the prolonged delay, we were forced to purchase essential clothing, toiletries, personal care items, and jewelry for a family wedding because we had no access to our belongings. The delay caused significant financial loss, inconvenience, and emotional distress during an important family event. Despite numerous attempts to obtain updates, communication regarding the location and delivery of our baggage was poor and inconsistent. Additionally, the contents of the bag that remains missing are worth substantially more than the amount we are seeking to be reimbursed. Our claim reflects only the reasonable and necessary expenses incurred as a direct result of Air France's failure to deliver our baggage, despite the much higher value of the personal belongings still unaccounted for. We respectfully request full reimbursement of these expenses and any compensation to which we are entitled under the Montreal Convention.

On July 18th, one of our five checked bags failed to arrive at our final destination in Copenhagen. That evening, we received two emails from Air France confirming the bag had been located and was en route from Paris to Copenhagen. Despite this confirmation, we received no further updates until the evening of July 20th — the night before our scheduled departure — even after multiple phone calls and emails to Aviator, Air France's contracted baggage handler in Copenhagen. Each time we called, we were told no updates had been processed. At one point, my husband traveled to Copenhagen Airport to attempt to locate the bag himself, based on Air France's email confirming it was in transit. He was told that passengers may only access the baggage area at two set times per day, 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and no staff were available to assist him. This disorganized system cost us significant time and money, including an $88 USD fee we paid to expedite delivery of the bag to our hotel and $100 in taxi fares. When the bag finally arrived, we discovered that our Tumi suitcase — valued at nearly $1,000 — had been severely damaged and rendered unusable. Because the suitcase could no longer function, its contents were delivered loose in a large plastic bag. That bag also contained items belonging to another passenger: a sleeping bag and a water bottle. I am requesting the following compensation: (1) full reimbursement for the destroyed Tumi suitcase, (2) reimbursement for the essential items we were forced to purchase during our stay while the bag was delayed, and (3) refund of the $88 expedited delivery fee. I have retained receipts, the damaged suitcase, and copies of all correspondence.

Was waiting for a long time, before someone told me. So the people who got me at the airport also had to pay for parking longer. In general I lost most off my stuff. Also expensive things like Dyson airwrap. Last time you lost 2 of på bagage, everything was ruined bc you kept it in the rain. So I’m praying for it not to happen again. And hopefully just get covered what I needed to buy for work and so on. Haven’t gotten my bagage bag yet. There will go a long time before. So that’s why I had to buy a lot of new stuff. Hope u will help me easily out with the payment because it’s to expensive for me. Had to lent the money from a family member to make sure I had some stuff to survive of. Didn’t get anything from you company at the airport. They just told me to do it this way.

I was directed by Air France staff to go to terminal 1 for my connecting flight (based on them looking at my boarding pass) and it was not correct. It was terminal 2e. Hence I went to the wrong terminal and missed my flight.

Due to the many Changes between delta and Air France I had to run around both JFK and CDG airport to address mistakes and misunderstandings from both parties, seats I’ve paid for upon booking couldn’t get , flights I paid for , missed , rebooked . Then to top it off my bags are not with me .. no clothes no supplies . I don’t have much faith in these airlines after this experience

Hi, my flight was delayed from Lagos to Newcastle on 26th June, the delay started from Lagos to Paris, which then made me miss the connection from Paris to Newcastle . The first flight was scheduled for 23:50 departure from Lagos to Paris, but then left by 2:25am, which then caused missing the 2nd connection flights from Paris to Newcastle schedule for 10:00. I was rebooked on another flight to depart Paris to Newcastle for 21:00; which eventually left by 21:35. I made a claim to Airfrance which was rejected. i was only offer 11Euro voucher after spending more than 10hrs in Paris. i believe I deserve a compensation.

I take a controlled medicine for Fibromyalgia and not having my luggage and not knowing when I will get it was super frustrating and affected my health. I had to go through connecting back with my dr back home and requesting a prescription and explaining to the pharmacist so I can get it. I had 2 days of body pain and high stress which affected my work and general daily life.

our flight was cancelled 12 hours before take off. We were rebooked to a flight that landed us in Nice (our destination) at 8pm rather than 8am. This flight was also delayed by 30 minutes. We missed our only entire day in Nice due to this cancellation and did not get to experience the travel excursions we hoped to.

I am a U.S. Active Duty Military member, doing an overseas Permanent-Change-of-Station with my wife, 15 month old child, and 2 cats from Seattle, WA to Rota NS, Spain. We were flying with Air France from Seattle, WA (SEA) to Madrid, Spain (MAD) on 24-25 June. Our family's travel plans were to fly into Madrid on 25 June and after landing, take an Uber to Madrid-Puerta de Atocha-Almudena Grandes train station to take the train down to Seville and then use a rental car from Seville to drive down to Rota. When we landed in Madrid, we had 2 hours to take pet Ubers to the train station but had to spend the two hours creating a PIR with Air France. Ultimately, we were not able to complete our travel on 25 June and were offered no compensation aside from filing the PIR and either waiting in Madrid for our luggage to arrive or have it mailed to us in Rota (where we do not have a mailing address yet). Part of our checked luggage was our child seat for our baby along with all of our personal goods. We had to stop traveling for the day and procure transportation to a hotel to sleep because we had already been traveling for almost 18 hours. We tracked our delayed luggage and found that it was going to arrive at MAD around 0100 on 26 June so we picked up our luggage then. The delay in our luggage caused a chain of changes in our travel: - Missed our scheduled Ubers to the train station - Missed our train ride from Madrid to Seville - Needed a rental car for the day to transport our family and cats to a hotel - Needed to stay one night in a hotel to recover from difficult travel - Needed to procure different travel plans from Madrid to Rota short-notice.

My name is Jerin Kuriakose Mundackalparambil. I am writing regarding my journey from Rio de Janeiro to Milan Malpensa via Paris, booked under a single reservation. My final arrival in Milan Malpensa was delayed by more than three hours. I was informed that the delay was due to adverse weather conditions. However, during the delay at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, no meals or refreshments were provided, despite the long waiting time. I kindly request that you review my case and confirm whether I am entitled to compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004. If compensation is not applicable because of extraordinary circumstances, I ask you to review whether Air France fulfilled its duty of care during the delay. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response. Kind regards, Jerin Kuriakose Mundackalparambil

The first Flight was delayed and for that reason I lost the flight to Hannover. I had an important meeting on the 30th June at 8.30 and I had no solution to get there on time except to flight to Hamburg and take the train to Hannover there. But with that solution I only arrived to Hannover at 6.45h on the 30th of June. Did not sleep even, to get to the meeting on time. Thank you for you understanding.
