Technical problems
I have tried to access Air France's website several times for compensation but it will not allow me to progress. Please find the screenshot I have uploaded above. This is what happened: We booked for a flight to Winnipeg via Paris-Toronto-Winnipeg through Booking.com. Our flight from Paris to Toronto was cancelled because of technical problem. The plane was not fit to fly. after waiting for 5 hours at the airport, we were rebooked for the following day and was brought to a hotel. We were then brought back to the airport the following day. We were booked for a Paris-Amsterdam-Calgary flight instead. From Calgary we were booked for Winnipeg, our final destination. The whole time waiting inside the airport, in a queue for rebooking and hotel booking, for about 5 hours or more, was disheartening. We missed a day of our stay in Canada with our grandchildren because of this delay. We spent money on food but were not able to keep receipts because this experience was alien to us.- Paris-Winnipeg

I had requested the compensation for the hotel and taxi ticket to air france. They opened the claim. They asked me multiple times the same documents, I had presented all of them exactly as they requested. They continue asking me the same documents over and over again. One day they decided to close the case claiming that there was nothing they could do. No further explanation. All the documents were presented. The flight was delayed more than one day. They gave no reason. The staff told us to go to a hotel in Ezeiza Buenos Aires to spend the night and to do the claim via their website. It is a scam as they show no williness to refund the money. Please help me get the money of the hotel and taxi. We got sick in the airport due to the long wait and we lost two days of work loosing part of our salary. Thanks, on behalf of Vasile Popa, who is my husdband.- Buenos Aires-Paris

My delayed flight caused me to have to stay overnight in Paris in order to take the next available flight which was the next morning. It also caused me to miss the uber I had booked waiting for me in Malaga. I am the speaker at a conference and now have to be delayed and the whole conference schedule had to change to adapt to my delayed arrival. In the above travel information email vouchers were promised but not available on their site after check in. No vouchers were sent. I waited and had to board my new flight.- Bologna-Malaga

The flight was direct from Paris to Dakar. We had to do an emergency stop in Marrakech and arrived more than 3 hours later in Dakar. In the air they said its an technical issue, in the mail they said its a security issue. I believe someone dropped a phone which got stuck in a chair and that's why we stopped. The airline never confirmed it.- Paris-Diass

My booking included the following itinerary under a single reservation: - Athens → Amsterdam - Amsterdam → Houston - Houston → Paris - Paris → Athens Due to a delay on the return trip on the Houston–Paris flight, I missed my scheduled connection in Paris. As a result, I was rebooked on a later flight and arrived in Athens with a total delay of approximately 8 hours compared to my original scheduled arrival time. I have- Houston-Athens

I was supposed to have a flight from CDG to EWR on Jan 25, 2026. However, on Jan 23, two days before, I was told suddenly that my flight has been cancelled (no reasoning/explanation) and was rebooked to Jan 26, 2026, the day after, to CDG to BOS to EWR. They made it a transfer flight. They told me I would get reimbursed for all the hotels/food/transportation from this issue. I kept all receipts and sent it to Air France. However, they've only partially reimbursed my expenses and didn't pay full amount. And they never explained the reasoning behind the cancellation but after sending a claim for reimbursement + EU261's 600 EURO compensation, they've only given me the partial reimbursement and made an excuse that it was because of weather in Amsterdam. First, this was never explained or mentioned anywhere in the cancellation email originally when they rebooked me. Additionally AF62 flight, only goes from CDG to EWR. It doesn't stop in Amsterdam, and the weather shut down in Amsterdam happend around Jan 2-8, which was almost 3 weeks before the day I was flying, on Jan 25.(https://www.flightradar24.com/blog/ aviation-news/airport-news/snow-chaos-at-schiphol/) They made a poor excuse about this and refused for the Eu261 compensation + and proper full compensation of my expenses from this issue.- Paris-Newark

I went to the customer service desk at Terminal F and the representatives were extremely unhelpful and rude. Their response to everything was “I don’t know.” Even on our initial flight (IAH-CDG) the flight attendants knew that many people on the flight had a tight connection to Lisbon and did nothing to help, they said they didn’t know how to call the gate for the Lisbon flight and let them know that there were people trying to make the Lisbon flight.- Houston-Lisbon

Problems at airport
The first flight (AF963) from Tel Aviv to Paris, scheduled to depart at 16:30, was delayed by approximately 50 minutes, arriving in Paris at 20:10 instead of the scheduled time of 19:20. Due to this delay, we missed our connecting flight AF256 to Singapore, despite the connection being an official Air France itinerary with a planned layover of 65 minutes. As a result, we were rebooked on later flights and arrived in Koh Samui on 19 September instead of 18 September, causing a 24-hour delay to the final destination. This delay resulted in the loss of one prepaid hotel night in Koh Samui, as well as significant inconvenience and distress, particularly as we were traveling with young children.- Tel-aviv-Ko Samui

Robert should have arrived in Cranbrook, his final destination at 00:40 on 7th Jan 2026. He arrived at 16:30 on the 8th Jan 2026. There had been a direct flight from Paris to Calgary the following day (in line with his original itinerary). However, Robert was not offered this option - despite it being available online - I was looking on Roberts behalf. Rather than make a fuss, Robert took the ticket that Air France gave him via Toronto, and as a result, spent the night on the floor of Toronto airport as this flight was late arriving in Toronto. Had he been put on the direct flight to Calgary from Paris, he would have made his connection. Poor Robert was so distressed in Toronto. He wasn't offered a hotel nor a voucher, nor meal vouchers, that he ended up sleeping at the gate he was told his flight (over 12 hours later) would leave from. He was also not offered meal vouchers in Paris. And in his distress, didn't get receipts for what he ate. Nor for the taxi he paid for to get to and from the hotel that I booked for him. He paid in cash. He shouldn't have to prove anything. He should have been given vouchers. The airline surely did their best, however, they are not admitting that the original problem was at Nice - no cleaning staff for the plane etc. Weather was not the original given cause for this delay.- Nice-Cranbrook

I was due to fly on Tuesday 6th January from Dublin to Nice via Paris CDG. The first flight was delayed by over two hours in Dublin and the connecting flight on Tuesday from Paris to Nice was cancelled because of too many connections being missed. In other words a technical issue. Air France have lied in their response when they say bad weather as this was not the reason for the cancellation on Tuesday night. Upon arriving at Paris I had to organize my own hotel and transport at 10.30pm at night as no Air France staff were available. No offer of assistance was given and Paris CDG was deserted. I was initially put on 7am flight on Wednesday 7th January. This was quickly cancelled due to the snow. However I was placed on the 17h15 flight that same day. As the day progressed some flights left, other flights were cancelled. Our flight at 17h15 was initially delayed till 19h10, then 19h55. You will see from attached documents that shortly after 20h00 we started to board the plane. Then after 20 passengers were seated they were told to get off as flight was now cancelled due to lack of staff who could legally supervise the flight. It was not cancelled because of bad weather as claimed by Air France. I have attached the proof of a later flight leaving Paris CDG to Nice at 21h00 that was perfectly fine. If this flight at 21h00 was okay for take off then the earlier flight (at just after 20h00) should have departed and not been described as cancelled because of bad weather. I then had to organize another hotel and transfer to and from hotel without any assistance from Air France as no staff were at the Airport. I finally got to Nice on Thursday 8th January at 17h20. I work as a self employed person and because of the two day delay I missed opportunities for work on 2 days, namely Wednesday and Thursday. I did have to cancel some work because of the situation. I did put in a claim with Air France and only received expenses for the hotels and transfers as the two flights I claimed for were deemed to be cancelled for bad weather. The responses from the Airline should be attached. Also attached are my responses, and then their final decision. I am not claiming again for the Expenses as they were eventually paid on 25th February by Air France ( 7 weeks after flight cancellations). I'm just very disappointed and very angry at the response from Air France. The dishonesty is perhaps the hardest thing, and the lack of compassion for someone stuck for 2 days at Paris CDG airport. To deny compensation because of lies is not acceptable. I do hope you are successful in pursuing this case.- Dublin-Nice

Terrible customer service with re-booking due to incorrect information on the Air France/KLM website
Booked an Air France/KLM ticket from Chicago to Johannesburg with return flight from Johannesburg to Washington DC via Paris. On return flight need to travel with small dog in cabin. The sole purpose of this thrip is to fetch our pet dog from South Africa as we recently relocated to the USA. Checked prior to making the flight booking that this specific extra pet-in-cabin service is available and according to the website it is. When booking the service via the call center, it was approved (Air France agent even sent me a screenshot confirming). 24 Hours later it was denied for the Johannesburg to Paris flight and approved for the Paris to Washington flight. There is NO mention of an embargo to travel with an animal from Johannesburg on the Air France or KLM website. When contacting customer service via WhatsApp they simply said that pet-in-cabin service is only available from Cape Town to Paris. Specifically checked prior to booking this ticket and due to incorrect information on the website, I am now unable to depart from Johannesburg. Air France/KLM refuse to refund the ticket. Told me to complain about the lack of information on the website but could not care less about the cost and inconvenience resulting from this. Departing from Cape Town will add significant cost as I will have to take a domestic flight for this purpose, Assistance from the customer service line has been dismal. I have tried to change to booking online but cannot do this as the "special service" request blocks this option. Lack of information on the website is causing a lot of anguish and additional cost. Trying to speak to the call center takes hours and the agents are mis-informed. Trying to change the booking to Cape Town departure is impossible online. Air France, you can and should do better.Overall

Dear Air France Customer Relations, I am submitting formal complaint and request for compensation regarding my recent journey, during which a delay on my first Air France flight caused me to miss my connecting flight and prevented me from returning home as scheduled. This disruption occurred at the end of a six-week trip outside Europe. I was already extremely fatigued and homesick. During the flight, I proactively informed a flight attendant that I was worried about making my connection. Despite this, the delay resulted in a missed connection and significant distress. What is particularly concerning is the complete lack of empathy and appropriate care I received afterward. I interacted with at least five Air France employees, including the agent who arranged my hotel. With the exception of my initial conversation onboard, I was visibly crying during every interaction. I was exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, and close to a panic attack. I had to ask for instructions multiple times because I was too distressed to properly process information. At no point did any staff member offer a sincere apology, check on my wellbeing, or take steps to ensure I was coping. Given my clearly visible condition, this falls well below reasonable customer care standards. Basic compassionate service — such as calmly explaining the situation, asking what assistance I needed, or assessing whether I required additional support — was entirely absent. I got hotel and new flight organized for me and that was good orfcourse. It included shuttlebus, hotel, new flight. Thank you for that. My physical condition further worsened the situation. My insulin pump malfunctioned during the flight, creating a genuine health concern. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was so exhausted that I could not remain standing and collapsed into a restaurant chair. I was experiencing significant head and eye pain after approximately two hours of crying. Despite these clear warning signs, no additional support (such as transport assistance to the hotel) was offered. There were also failures regarding special meal handling. My booking clearly specified a vegan meal. However, at dinner there were no vegan options available to me, and I was left with only a bottle of water. Breakfast was offered from 05:00 to 08:00, yet I was instructed to report for my flight at 04:50, making it impossible to use the breakfast that was supposedly provided. This does not meet reasonable care obligations. In addition, due to this disruption I was unable to return home as planned and could not attend work as scheduled. This caused me a direct loss of income. This consequence was entirely foreseeable and directly linked to the delay and missed connection. In light of the above, I request appropriate compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 and reimbursement of my documented losses. I also expect that the compensation assessment takes into account the particularly poor handling of my situation, the lack of adequate passenger care, and the health impact this incident caused me. Please treat this matter with the seriousness it warrants. I expect a substantive response within a reasonable timeframe. look forward to your prompt response and hope this matter can be resolved without the need for further action.- Ho Chi Minh City-Helsinki

Problems at airport
The connection time on my inbound flight was already short between my two flights (65 minutes), and a small delay (36 minutes) made it impossible for me to catch my second flight that night. I was supposed to arrive at 09:55 PM at my final destination, but I only arrived there at 08:35 AM the next day. Because of this I missed out on a work day, since I was supposed to work in the morning. They did provide me with accommodation and meals, but I was only able to rest for a few hours because I needed to wake up at 4-5 AM for the replacement flight. I contacted the airline and they replied after 2-3 months of "investigation" and concluded that it was delayed due a decision of air traffic control and that it constitutes an extraordinary circumstance (they also used the wrong airport in writing their "conclusion" to me which is a very messy mistake, and makes me even more wary of that "conclusion"). I wanted to receive proof of this, because it sounded so very vague. So, I asked for more information about this "air traffic control decision", but never received a reply.- Tel-aviv-Amsterdam

Lost luggage, no communication, no action,
On arrival at Saint Martin our baggage appeared to be left behind. Annoying, but that can happen. We informed the ground staff and gave them our hotel details. Later we received a message that the bags were located and would be on the next flight. When concerning flight had landed, we stayed close to the hotel but the luggage did not come, neither were we contacted in any way. We could not reach anyone. It was a Sunday, phones were not picked up, nor could we make contact in any other way. After waiting agonizing hours, we took a taxi to the airport, where thank goodness our bags did appear to be. On my question why no action had been taken to inform us and to bring them over, I did not get an answer. The morning after arrival we bought a few essentials to get us through the day until our baggage would arrive and claimed the costs on the dedicated page on the website. Now, more than two weeks later, that is the last of it. No response, no action from Air France, no nothing. They are consequent in NOT communicating. In my life, when you screw up, you fix things, as good and fast as you can because other people are important, because you are and you feel responsible. They clearly have skipped that class.I find this deeply disappointing and would make me choose any other airline than Air France - KLM when possible.- Amsterdam-Philipsburg

Our flight left ABJ, Ivory Coast late on Feb 8 and arrived late in CDG Paris. The pilot/captain blamed slow baggage loading. We ran through the airport in CDG, but did not have enough time to get to the gate in time for the next flight, although we did arrive at the gate 12 minutes before scheduled departure, but the bus had already left. They gave us 15 euros vouchers each for food. It was a long, uncomfortable day waiting, especially after very little sleep the night before. They put us on the next flight AF1116, which brought us to Dublin 7 hours 57 minutes behind schedule. We were supposed to arrive at 8am. We arrived at 15.57. We had to pay an extra 15 euro penalty for being late picking up our vehicle at the airport car park.- Abidjan-Dublin

To Delta Air Lines Customer Relations Team, **Subject: EU Regulation EC 261 Claim for Compensation - Flight DL 8202 (Jan 29, 2026)** Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally claim compensation under the European Union Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 for a significant delay to my flight from Paris (CDG) to Cairo (CAI) on January 29, 2026. The flight details are as follows: * **Booking Reference:** HQACDQ * **Flight Number:** DL 8202 (Operated by Air France) * **Date of Travel:** January 29, 2026 * **Departure Airport:** Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) * **Arrival Airport:** Cairo International (CAI) * **Passengers:** Nasser M ALDURA MR & Maha MS ALDURA MS * **eTicket Numbers:** 0067355064550 & 0067355064551 The flight arrived at the final destination (Cairo) more than 10 hours after the scheduled arrival time (scheduled arrival 12:10 AM, January 30). The reason provided for this extensive delay was a **technical fault** with the aircraft, which is considered an operational issue within the airline's control. In accordance with EC 261/2004 Article 7(1)(c) for long-distance flights (over 3500 km), I am entitled to **€600** (Six Hundred Euros) in compensation per passenger. Air France Staff took personal belongings out of my suitcases
I am an Air France Platinum member because I'm flying frequently between work in Fortaleza/Brazil and Hannover/Germany. I always take a small keg of a very unique beer of the small Brazilian craft brewery "Turatti" in Fortaleza in each suitcase with me to Germany (of course within the Airline's weight restriction). On my last flight on January 25th, I flew again to Germany, advised the Air France check-in staff in Fortaleza again (they all know me by now anyway) that I had these small kegs in my suitcases and everything was fine as usual. When I arrived in Hannover, two of my three suitcases were missing. At the same time I received an email: "At Roissy CDG, we had to take off your two bier kegs. They considered as dangerous goods and forbidden to travel. We created files for each one: OHD CDGAF32887 // OHD CDGAF32888. If you know someone in Paris, he can come to pick them up with a copy of your ID and a proxy letter." I rang their number and spoke to their Staff member Brian and he apologized and would handle it to my satisfaction (either placing the kegs back into my suitcases or sending them separately if it was too late already). That conversation was recorded. 36 hours later the suitcases arrived but without the kegs. I asked Air France several times to show proof of that regulation which they did not send (because there is no such law or regulation and the kegs are not pressurized and the beer has a very low alcohol level of max. 5%). They refuse to forward the kegs and are also refusing to reimburse the kegs. The case is with an attorney now. I don't accept that baggage handlers taking my personal belongings out of my suitcases and declare them as dangerous goods.Overall

Terrible customer service .Not a good airline to deal with
We travelled from Dublin-Paris-Phuket on the 27/12/25 no bags arrived with us I logged it straight away at the Phuket airport anyone that had a connecting flight from Dublin got no bags. Day 3 ,three of our bags arrived we are still missing 1. Speaking to a couple on the flight that never received their bags while on holidays they have contacted me and have got their bags when they have returned home. I have filled a claim for the delayed luggage for €600 for a family of five who were also missing medication which had to by repurchased. I filed a report for my missing bag which over €2000 of contents in the bag the reference number is not valid that they issued to me . I find air France customer service is very poor and is the worst I have ever experience. You can not get through to anyone on the phone and the they don’t answer their emailsOverall

I was scheduled to travel on 18 January 2026 from Lagos to Birmingham, with a connecting flight from Paris to Birmingham. However, instead of the original single layover in Paris, an additional layover of 8 hours in Denmark was introduced. My initial itinerary was Lagos → Paris → Birmingham, but I was informed at the airport that there was an issue with the aircraft, which led to this unexpected change. Unfortunately, this update was not communicated to me in a timely manner. As a student, this disruption significantly affected my academic plans. I was expected to resume school on Monday, but due to the sudden change and the long layover, I was unable to proceed with the journey as scheduled. Consequently, I requested at the airport that my flight be moved to the following day. This incident caused considerable inconvenience and disrupted all the plans I had made around my return, including my school activities.- Lagos-Birmingham

I am claiming compensation for a cancelled flight under EC Regulation 261/2004. I was travelling on an international long-haul journey from Beijing to Dublin via Paris. My connecting flight from Paris to Dublin, scheduled to depart at 07:00 and arrive at 08:00, was cancelled with extremely short notice. I was only informed less than two hours before departing for Beijing Capital Airport, on the evening prior to the flight. As a result, I was rebooked onto a much later flight operated by Aer Lingus, departing at 13:15. This caused a substantial delay to my arrival in Dublin and significantly disrupted my schedule, including a pre-arranged afternoon meeting. Given the long-haul nature of my journey, the disruption caused considerable physical and mental exhaustion. Moreover, during the extended waiting time at Paris airport, no lounge access or adequate rest facilities (such as shower access) were provided, which further aggravated the situation. Based on EC Regulation 261/2004, I am therefore requesting the statutory compensation of €600 for flight cancellation with short notice, in addition to acknowledgement of the inconvenience and failure to provide appropriate care during the disruption.- Beijing-Dublin

My flight from Mauritius was late leaving. Tight turnaround time landing in Paris on the morningof 9 January. I barely made it on flight to Atlanta. I only bordrd because they waited for me and a few others until after planned takeoff time. Unfortunately my baggage didn't make it. I completed the report of missing/delayed baggage the evening of my landing at final destination Baltimore/Washington. The lady said I would probably receive it the next evening. It's been 7 long days to get my bag. I was borrowing things from my sister but then finally ordered a few essentials on Amazon as I had no idea how much longer.
