My lost luggage was only a backpack with brand name Bordlite in dark blue colour with no tags on the bag. I couldn’t found the right list to describe the items inside the backpack bag. * Ipad in pink case * pink camera in box * purple fan * sunglasses * hat * sensory sgushi Γ— 3 * notebook * pigamas-moana * wet tissue * pants * 20Β£ in pouch for holidays * two chocolate croissants * sandwich * water bottle The backpack was for only cabin bag and I lost it at the security check when I left inside the tray for checking and having more than 4 stuffs with me and my daughter I forgot my last bag to pick it on the tray.

On arrival in Lagos on Wednesday, 05/08/2026, I couldn't see one of my checked bags. The British airport staff told me that there was a problem/issues with many passengers' checked bags, which made most people unable to get their bags. We were told to come back the next day. On Thursday, I returned to the airport around 8 pm after receiving a text message from one of the British Airways staff that my bag had been loaded on the next flight coming back to Lagos. When I received my bag, it had been tampered with, and an item (iPhone 14 Pro Max) from the bag had been removed. This phone was bought by my son, whom I visited in Glasgow, as a gift to give my husband.

Technical problems

My original British Airways flight (BA688) to Santorini was cancelled on the day of departure. I woke up at approximately 6:00 a.m. to prepare for my trip and, when I checked my booking, discovered that my flight had been cancelled. I had not received any advance notification or warning that this would happen. Following the cancellation, I was automatically rebooked onto a flight departing the following day. This would have caused me to lose the first day of a holiday that I had planned and paid for months in advance, including approximately Β£191 worth of prepaid accommodation, as well as requiring me to rearrange my airport transfer and other travel arrangements. Believing I would have to travel the following day, I immediately contacted my accommodation provider to ask whether my reservation could be amended and contacted my airport transfer provider to rearrange my booking. These messages are attached as evidence. I continued checking the British Airways app throughout the morning. At approximately 8:00 a.m., I discovered that a same-day direct British Airways flight departing around one hour later had become available. I was not informed that this flight had become available and had to find and book it myself. British Airways previously rejected my claim on the basis that I had been offered a same-day alternative flight. However, this was not the flight I was initially rebooked onto. My automatic rebooking was for the following day, and it was only because I repeatedly checked the app myself that I was able to secure a same-day flight. I respectfully request that my claim is reviewed again in light of the attached evidence, which demonstrates the actual sequence of events and the significant disruption caused by the cancellation. I previously submitted this claim directly to British Airways; however, my case was closed without any further communication after I responded to your decision. The rejection was based on information that does not reflect what actually happened. British Airways stated that I had been offered an alternative flight departing within approximately one hour of my original flight. This is incorrect. As evidenced by the attached rebooking confirmation, I was initially rebooked onto a flight departing the following day. It was only because I continued checking the British Airways app myself that I later discovered a same-day direct flight and manually changed my booking. I respectfully ask that my claim is reviewed based on the actual sequence of events and the evidence provided.

I tried to purchase only the bare necessities to try and get me through a few days. Unfortunately for me my luggage was lost for a week. Even the carrier service you used was delayed two days because of a broken down vehicle. There were many items in the luggage that i was hoping to have but didn't have the money to purchase them in LHR so I did without. I only had so much $ on me and I didn't want to purchase on my credit card and have to try and pay that off. I did this trip on a budget. When my luggage arrived everything was intact and nothing was stolen which i was grateful for. I did not have to pay luggage fees Only one suitcase was missing but inside where many essential items that women need (hair products, accessories, layered clothing for the weather in LHR, Makeup, shoes, nicer outfits for planned events, etc.) I had to wash cloths in the hotel showers/sinks just so I wouldn't have to keep purchasing. I live on a budget in the US and it doesn't allow for extra expenses which is why the lost luggage was such a disaster.

I am seeking assistance regarding a denied boarding incident involving British Airways. **Booking reference:** Y8P5GF **Date of travel:** 28 March 2026 **Passengers:** * Kalpesh Suresh Talkar * Prajakta Kalpesh Talkar * Ved Kalpesh Talkar (child) **Original itinerary:** * BA0138: Mumbai β†’ London * BA0826: London β†’ Dublin My family and I were denied boarding for our journey from Mumbai to Dublin via London, despite holding valid passports, valid Irish residence permits, and confirmed onward tickets to Dublin. Our connection was within the same airport terminal in London, and based on UK transit rules, we did not require a UK transit visa. We have also travelled on the same route previously under similar circumstances without any issues, and we are aware of other passengers with comparable documentation who were allowed to travel. British Airways did not provide a clear legal or regulatory justification for denying us boarding. As a result, we were forced to purchase expensive last-minute replacement flights in order to return to Ireland the same day. This was essential because both my spouse and I are employed in Ireland and cannot work from outside the country. The delay also had implications for our Irish residency and future citizenship eligibility, as well as childcare arrangements. I initially submitted a compensation claim directly to British Airways (Case #11265519), but it was closed without any explanation. I then opened a second claim (Case #11527642), which was also closed with the reason that another case was already active, even though the first case had already been closed. As a result, British Airways has not substantively responded to my complaint or addressed the denied boarding. I am requesting AirHelp's assistance in pursuing compensation for the denied boarding and reimbursement of the additional expenses we incurred as a direct result of British Airways' actions. I have attached supporting documents, including screenshots of the closed cases and evidence of the replacement flights and associated costs.

I hav called the airlines and spend nearly 1 hour talking with them. They could not help me with next available service . They asked me to change the dates which I did. From 28th July I have changed to 1 August. Again for the second time ( like 28th July ) the flight was cancelled again. Wch caused so much of stress, my single daughters job - as she cannot go for job , child care was disturbed. I myself is a cancer patient. It was so appalling, the whole experience . No reason given

This was my first time traveling to London for my daughter’s graduation and because I’m an old lady with knee problem and nervous for light alone, she booked a direct flight from Accra to London to make it easier for me. Only for the flight to be cancelled 2 hours before boarding. She would have paid lesser if she wanted to book a transiting flight. Paid this about for a direct flight and end up transiting which also made my journey stressful considering my health and nerves. Thank God I met a wonder couple who helped me through the journey to keep me calm.

Terrible delays and bad hygiene

Dear Customer Service, I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable delays and poor conditions we experienced during our recent trip. Our inbound flight was delayed by over 2 hours, and our outbound flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. To make matters worse, after boarding we were kept waiting inside the aircraft for an additional 40 minutes before departure. These delays caused us to miss an important event that we had planned and paid for, which was extremely disappointing and upsetting. The conditions on board also made the experience much worse. There was a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the aircraft toilets throughout the flight, making the journey very uncomfortable for everyone. As a result of the extended delays and time spent sitting on the aircraft, my legs became severely swollen, and I struggled to walk properly after landing. Travelling with children made the situation even more difficult, as they became exhausted from the long waits and unnecessary delays. Overall, the experience fell far below the standard of service we expected. The combination of the lengthy delays, poor onboard conditions, missing our event, the impact on my health, and the distress caused to our children made this an extremely upsetting journey. I would appreciate a full investigation into this matter and request appropriate compensation for the delays, inconvenience, discomfort, and the losses we incurred as a result of missing our event. I look forward to your prompt response. Yours faithfully, Naoual Makhlouf

Subject: Formal Claim for Wrongful Denial of Boarding – Request for Compensation and Reimbursement Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to submit a formal complaint and claim arising from my wrongful denial of boarding on my British Airways itinerary from Brussels (BRU) to Johannesburg (JNB) via London Heathrow (LHR). I arrived at the airport in good time around 12:30 pm for my flight of 3:50 pm and presented all the required travel documentation, including my valid passport, my valid Belgian residence permit, and my valid South African visa. Despite my full compliance with the applicable immigration and airline requirements, I was denied boarding by the check-in agent. I waited the solution until boarding closed and I could not be helped. The interaction was deeply concerning. The agent initially questioned the validity of my South African visa without providing any legal or factual basis. After this concern was addressed, she continued to raise unrelated issues that were not relevant to my eligibility to travel. At no point was I provided with a clear, lawful, or documented explanation for the refusal to transport me. I repeatedly requested clarification, but none was given. As a direct consequence of this unjustified decision, I suffered substantial financial and professional losses, including but not limited to: * The loss of my scheduled British Airways journey to Johannesburg. * The loss of prepaid arrival night in the hotel reservations. * My inability to attend and deliver my scheduled presentation at an international conference in the morning , resulting in significant professional and reputational harm. * Additional expenses and disruption to my travel plans (urgent last minute flight ticket to travel late at night in Ethiopian airways, food from extra anger, bought urgent medicines in the airport to treat extreme anxiety because I have high-blood pressure) * Severe emotional distress. The situation caused intense stress and anxiety, leading to a significant rise in my blood pressure and physical symptoms requiring attention. The manner in which I was treated was humiliating, distressing, and entirely disproportionate. I maintain that I fulfilled all applicable travel and immigration requirements and that the denial of boarding was unjustified. If British Airways relies on any legal or regulatory basis for its decision, I request that you provide: 1. The precise legal and regulatory grounds relied upon to deny my boarding. 2. Copies of all internal notes, reports, or records concerning this incident. 3. The identity or employee number of the staff member(s) responsible for the decision. 4. Confirmation of the immigration or travel database, if any, that was consulted before refusing carriage. In light of the above, I request that British Airways provide full compensation and reimbursement for all losses arising from this wrongful denial, including: * Compensation to which I may be entitled under applicable passenger rights legislation. * Reimbursement of the unused ticket or the cost of replacement travel, as applicable. * Reimbursement of all non-refundable hotel bookings and other travel-related expenses. * Compensation for the loss of professional opportunity associated with my conference presentation. * Appropriate compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and physical consequences resulting from the incident. I ask that this complaint be investigated thoroughly and independently. Should British Airways decline to resolve this matter satisfactorily, I reserve all my rights to pursue the matter before the relevant national enforcement bodies, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and any competent court, and to seek recovery of all damages available under the applicable law. Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint and provide your substantive response within the timeframe prescribed by your complaints procedure. Yours faithfully, Herve

The first name and last name on the ticket I originally purchased were mistakenly reversed. The British Airways customer service team was unable to correct the error, and their representative advised me to purchase a new round-trip ticket from Budapest to New York. I followed this advice and bought a new ticket. However, at the airport I was informed that I had been given incorrect information and that purchasing the new ticket was completely unnecessary. As a result, I incurred an unnecessary expense of €947.

Successful claim

I did not arrive at my ticketed destination, Baltimore/Washington International Airport, on 24 July 2026. At the time of submitting this claim, I had still not reached Baltimore. British Airways rebooked me onto the same service on Sunday, 26 July 2026, meaning that I will arrive approximately two days later than originally planned. I arrived at London Heathrow in good time and had booked special assistance because I am disabled and have serious medical and mobility needs. Airport assistance initially took me to the confirmed departure gate. British Airways then changed the departure gate to a different location. Because I require special assistance, I could not simply make my own way quickly to the new gate. The assistance service did not transport me to the replacement gate in time, and the flight departed without me. After the flight had left, a British Airways customer-service representative told me that what had happened was entirely British Airways’ fault. She specifically described it as β€œ100% their fault.” British Airways initially offered me a hotel for the night. However, because of my medical condition, medication requirements and need for proper rest, I chose to return to my home in Ipswich rather than remain at Heathrow overnight. During my discussions with staff, I was told that various arrangements might be possible, including rerouting, assistance with transport, changing my travel arrangements and possibly an upgrade or other compensation. Ultimately, I was only rebooked onto the same flight on Sunday, 26 July. Nothing was confirmed regarding transport from Ipswich back to Heathrow on Sunday, an upgrade, or changing my return date to compensate for the two days of my trip that I have lost. British Airways provided me with: - A Β£10 food voucher. - A taxi from Heathrow back to my home in Ipswich after I declined the hotel. - Rebooking onto the same flight two days later, on Sunday, 26 July 2026. However, the Β£10 voucher was very limited considering the length of time I had been at the airport and the seriousness of the disruption. British Airways has not confirmed or provided transport from Ipswich back to Heathrow for the rebooked flight on Sunday. My original journey from Ipswich to Heathrow on Friday was wasted, and I now have to make the journey to Heathrow again because of the airline’s admitted failure. Most importantly, although I had booked special assistance, the assistance that was supposed to ensure I reached the correct gate did not do so after the gate was changed. It was this failure that caused me to miss the flight. The disruption caused very serious inconvenience and distress. I am disabled and have a significant medical history. I have to carefully plan travel around my medication, physical limitations, rest and sleep requirements. I cannot safely continue travelling for prolonged periods without medication and proper rest, and attempting to find another late flight that evening would not have been medically appropriate. I had arrived early and had followed the correct procedures by booking special assistance. Despite this, I was left behind after British Airways changed the gate and the assistance service failed to take me to the replacement gate. I spent many hours travelling to and waiting at Heathrow, only to be sent home without reaching my destination. I must now repeat the journey from Ipswich to Heathrow on Sunday. British Airways has not confirmed that it will cover this additional journey. The delay has shortened my trip by approximately two days. It has also disrupted my onward travel arrangements from Baltimore to Orlando, which were booked separately with another airline for Monday, 27 July. I now have very little time between arriving in Baltimore and taking that onward flight. Any further delay could cause me to miss it and suffer additional financial losses. My return date was not adjusted, so I am losing two days of my holiday rather than having those days restored at the end of the trip. Yes, I lost money. The main reason I needed to arrive in Baltimore on Friday evening was to spend time with my friend Nancy and travel with her to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, 25 July. Saturday was her only available day off, and we had already paid for activities and plans in Washington. Because I did not arrive in Baltimore, I missed the planned Washington, D.C. visit and lost the benefit and value of the prepaid arrangements. Nancy was not available on Sunday because of her church commitments, so the plans could not simply be moved to another day. I had also brought gifts for Nancy and specifically planned the Baltimore portion of the journey around seeing her before continuing to Orlando. My financial losses and additional expenses include: - The value of the prepaid Washington, D.C. activities and bookings that I could not use. - The wasted cost of my original journey from Ipswich to Heathrow. - The additional cost of travelling from Ipswich back to Heathrow for the replacement flight, unless British Airways arranges or reimburses this. - The loss of approximately two days of my trip without any corresponding extension to my return date. - The potential cost of changing or replacing my separately booked Baltimore-to-Orlando flight if the revised British Airways journey prevents me from making that connection. - Any additional food, travel or other reasonable expenses caused by the disruption. Receipts and evidence of these expenses and bookings can be provided where available. I am therefore requesting reimbursement of all reasonable expenses caused by this incident, compensation for the delay and failure of the booked special-assistance service, and appropriate consideration of the substantial loss of time and disruption to my trip.

Landed in Spain during the weekend of the world cup finale. Everything was closed. Nothing at all was open. I cried in the airport when they told me the bag was lost. Stayed up all night because I have OCD and can't sleep without my own bedding which was inside my luggage. Stayed up in the same clothes I traveled in as I had no clothes to change into. In the morning the tourist gift shop was open so I brought some clothes and a small sewing kit from there ( see the bank transfers on the 19th - pic provided). No underwear Ofcourse in the gift shop so I cut some of the items up into underwear and wore the clown like outfit I got from the gift shop over the weekend and during Monday morning to go to the mall. I had to buy contact lenses solution and concealer as well. I had to buy bedsheets, shoes, headscarf, socks, towel, leggings and pretty everything a woman would need to survive for 5 days. Walked for hours, wasted my holiday (which I booked after working hard to save up and relax after a stressful family death). Instead of spending it relaxing by the pool I spent it walking around Granada looking for any open stores. A week from hell that was concluded by yet another disaster when my return flight on the 22nd (which I booked on your website but somehow ended up on a different airline) didn't have enough time for a normal human being to walk to the second flight after reaching Madrid. The delayed flight landed from in Madrid 22/7/26 5 min before boarding started for the flight to London. It took me 40 min to get to the gate and I had an asthma attack, but my inhaler was empty because I used too much from walking around spain looking for a place to buy underwear !! Thank you for one the worst week of my life.

British Airlines canceled our last flight to our final destination, Stockholm, Sweden, two hours before the departure time (3:45pm on Saturday June 27) and wanted to book us in another flight the following day. However, I was able to changed it to a flight that night, departing London on June 27 at 10:40pm and arriving to Stockholm at 1:00am on Sunday. But, our luggage was delayed and delivered to us on Tuesday June 30.

It has now been near 15 hours since original flight was due to arrive and I have yet to receive my luggage. There is still no confirmation from the airline that they have received my luggage. My flight was cancelled and I was redirected to Manchester airport and had to take an additional flight then from Manchester to Dublin. This caused significant stress and anxiety to my trip. I asked several airline workers to confirm my luggage was going to be on my flight to Manchester and then to Dublin. In London they told me my luggage is on the system and in their words β€œthey have it here.” We then further checked when we arrived at Manchester if they had received our luggage and it was going to be on our flight to Dublin. We were again told by staff they have it on the system and our luggage will be in Dublin. I find it distressing that we were reassured that it will be when we arrive but yet it wasn’t. In Manchester we asked an airline working that our luggage was definitely on our flight and he said β€œwhat’s your destination on your boarding pass? Well then yea it will go to Dublin.” We are missing 2 luggage’s from a long hall trip with plenty of presents and valuable items. When trying to speak with the airline staff about my missing luggage’s I found it highly unhelpful. There was no empathy, no compassion or care. We were basically told β€œyea we forgot to put it on your flight.” We filled out a form and told we had no further guidance just to wait to we get an email. We are yet to receive an email and it has been an alarming time. They said it might take 1 - 2 days. They left their station and we were left confused and no staff to answer any further questions. We had several connecting flights and paid for luggage to be checked in. Paying a fee for our baggage to then not have the service we paid for. My concern is the constant reassurance our luggage was on the flights when they weren’t.

Technical problems

Dear British Airways Customer Relations, I am writing to make a formal complaint about the treatment of my 82-year-old father, Mr Gert Olivier, following the cancellation of his flight from London Heathrow to Cape Town, which was scheduled to depart at 10:30 pm on Friday, 10 July. My father is old and has hearing impairment, and I specifically arranged special assistance to ensure he was safely escorted through the airport and onto the aircraft. Boarding went smoothly, but after everyone had boarded, the flight was cancelled due to a technical issue. Passengers disembarked and eventually collected their baggage at around 3:00 am. At that point, despite having booked assistance, my father was simply told to go home and that British Airways would contact him with further arrangements. He was left alone in the airport during the early hours of the morning, confused, distressed, and without any practical support. The following morning, after checking the flight status and discovering it had been cancelled, I rushed to Heathrow to look for him. After several hours of searching, I eventually found him sitting alone near Boots in the arrivals area. He was disoriented, traumatised, and unsure what to do. The next available direct flight to Cape Town was not until 15 July, meaning he had to wait several more days before he could travel. I find it completely unacceptable that a vulnerable elderly passenger, for whom special assistance had been arranged, was left to fend for himself following the cancellation. The purpose of booking assistance is to ensure passengers who need additional support are looked after, particularly when travel plans are disrupted. I would appreciate: * A full explanation of how this happened. * Details of why the booked assistance was not provided after the flight cancellation. * Information on what British Airways will do to prevent this happening to other vulnerable passengers. * Appropriate compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused. I look forward to your prompt response. Yours faithfully, Johan Olivier

Problems at airport

Dear Sir or Madam, BA Case Reference nΒ°: 12236353 I am referring my complaint to you regarding my dissatisfaction with BA Global Customer Relations' response of my claim for compensation and refund they have provided. The background of the case is as follows I set to directly fly with BA from London Heathrow to Brussels on May 14th, 2026 at 18:15, and to arrive in Brussels at 20:25. For some reasons, this flight BA390 was delayed to 20:10 for almost 2 hours for boarding, and cancelled late in the evening whilst on board waiting for the take-off signal from the Air Traffic control, and then we were requested to disembark the plane with our hand luggage and to go to the arrival zone for some formalities. I arrived to my destination the next day 15th of May by other alternative transportation. From there, I experienced a long delay. I was neither rescheduled to any of their earliest available flights to Brussels on that day May 15th, nor told of any exact causes of flight cancellation, nor informed of any disruptions ahead. A flight BA388 was scheduled for Saturday May 16th at 16:55, and suggested to me as alternative flight. My journey was already badly messed up. It was practically impossible for me to travel to Brussels on that day. So for that reason I had to abandon the trip by flight and get an alternative transportation as I planned to be in Brussels for 4 days for an urgent family meeting from 14th to 18th of May. I raised my concerns with British Airways Global Customer Relations regarding a claim for compensation and a refund for additional expenses I incurred due to flight delays and cancellations on 15th of May. Their reply to the compensation claim was that I am ineligible for it due to extraordinary circumstances; adverse weather,.. Though they served of Article 5.3 of the UK/EU Laws 261/2004 and the Air Passager Rights and the Air Travel Organisers' Licencing Regulations 2029 to make their decision but as carrier, BA distinctly failed to prove by providing evidence to support their decision in flight disruptions for so long on those 2 days, 15th and 16th of May. As for the claim for a refund, BA Global Customer Relations offered a reimbursement of Β£75.35 for a half of Β£155.65 BA390 outbound flight, and Β£142.10 for out-of-pocket expenses. I should legally receive a full refund of Β£292.80 for all additional expenses I incurred on May 15th. This refund is short by Β£150.70 out of Β£368.15. I want my money to be refunded promptly. Looking at my itemised list of extra costs I incurred on 1. Taxi fare: Β£82.50 paid by credit card 2. Tube fare: Β£3.30 Oyster card photography from the Tube tickect machine. 3. Eurostar train ticket: Β£207.00 one way. So I was seeking a total refund of Β£292.80 plus half of BA390 outbound flight ticket and also a claim for flight delay compensation of Β£220.00. I have only received a refund of Β£217.45. As you would notice BA Global Customer Relations ignored my claim by giving vague explanation of refund process, and also has been incapable to give the exact causes of flight disruptions throughout May 14th, 15th and 16th. I would be very much pleased if you could help me get what I am legally entitled to. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you. Faithfully

Claim escalated to airline

reference number is 12242045. For reference, my original complaint included the following details: - Booking reference: XSDHND - Flight number: BA078 - Date of travel: 30th April,2026 - Passenger name: Albert Amofa I was denied boarding my flight after I have checked online 24 hours before departure to Heathrow London- from Accra Kotoka. I arrived at the Kotoka airport at 20:05 to drop my bags, but was denied as they told me counter is closed. It says at the counter board, counter closes at 20:44 as gate closes 90 minutes before departure. Gate closes at 21:50 as shows on my ticket. But I was denied boarding at 20:05, there was no explanation but was told to give my details so they can offload me, which they did.

Unfriendly, type of voucher.

Last flight was delayed, I was emailed a voucher for 8 Euros. First time I receive this new style of voucher. I simply could not work out how to use it and had to make my own arrangements. Most disappointing from a reputable company I have flown with since last century. There was no one from BA around to help. I was flying economy, the reason from Bordeaux if you use the lounge, it is located before passport control and one busy morning, because of the crowd I almost missed my flight.

Technical problems

I was forced to book a last-minute alternative flight because the only rebooking option provided by British Airways was for the following day. Unfortunately, this was not a viable option, as my accommodation check-in was scheduled for the day of my original flight, and the booking was non-refundable. Had I accepted the flight offered for the next day, I would have missed my check-in and lost the cost of my accommodation. As a result, I had no reasonable alternative but to purchase a replacement flight at short notice, which cost me approximately Β£400 more than originally planned. This additional expense was incurred solely as a direct consequence of the flight cancellation, and I am therefore requesting reimbursement of these unavoidable costs.

Flight Delay Complaint and Request for Reimbursement

Because I arrived late at Gatwick, the person who was supposed to pick me up could not wait for me. I had to pay for a train, an Uber, and food while waiting at the airport. The delay also meant I only just caught the last train, and I arrived home so late that I had to take half a day off work the following day and it was unpaid also.
