terrible customer service not expected from B.A. in business class
On both flights to and from Heathrow our seats were changed although they had been pre paid four months earlier. Once again, we were changed seat allocation. The steward tried to seat us in the middle aisle which we were unhappy with and not requested. I had been asleep and woke to smell the coffee for breakfast. I asked the steward if I was too late for breakfast being served, he said YES! Which took me by surprise. The lady sitting opposite me offered some of her breakfast to eat! So she was also surprised. Ten minutes later the steward brought me some breakfast but no drink which I then had to request from another steward. Apparently the first steward had been joking! On landing at Heathrow we expected to be met at the airplane doorway to wheelchair assistance. Unfortunately, we were asked if we could walk down the steps from the aircraft. My partner, struggled as he is still recovering from a broken femur and walks with a stick. We then had to travel on a bus to the terminal. Upon arrival at the terminal we were then directed to walk by foot to the wheelchair assistance. The B.A. Desk9 we did try to explain we were travelling Buisinee Class) next to us just waved us to the assistance desk. We were told to sit and wait. Which we did for ONE AND A HALF HOURS FOR ASSITANCE. The plane had landed at 9.20 a.m. And it was 1 P.M. BEFORE WE EVENTUALLY ARRIVED AT THE BUSINESS LOUNGE. So, expecting to be in the Business lounge for five hours we were there just over one hour before going to the boarding gate for Newcastle. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED TRAVELLING BUSINESS CLASS WITH BRITISH AIRWAYS! Furthermore, when we arrived at the boarding gate to travel onto Newcastle, the gate clerk would not let us board with our cabin luggage. We had one cabin bag each(correct dimensions). Only one of our cabin bags was allowed on. The other had to be put with the hold luggage. Again we were told just sit down and accept the situation. Once boarding had begun the passengers who were travelling economy were boarding with larger cases and putting them above our business seats where there was room for our cabin case. We were told by the pilot and staff that the plane was full for luggage requirements. When we arrived at Newcastle the pilot informed us that the hold luggage would have to removed first before passengers could disembark because the plane could tip up onto the aircraft tail. I complained to the air stewardess about not being allowed to bring on the cabin luggage and she informed me that Business class cabin luggage should always be allowed on first. As you are aware, we have not been at all pleased with the way our time with British Airways has been handled. We expected better. I believe an explanation and recompense would be appreciated.Overall

I am trying to submit a compensation claim for my delayed flight BA246 (Booking Reference: 26VMH9), scheduled for 28 May 2023. Unfortunately, I have been unable to complete the online claim form because the ZIP/Postcode field does not accept any value. I have tried my correct postcode, different formats, "00000", and "N/A", but the system always prevents me from proceeding. I have experienced this issue repeatedly over a long period of time. My flight was delayed by more than 13 hours, departing on 29 May 2023 instead of 28 May 2023. I would like to submit my compensation claim under the applicable UK passenger rights legislation. As your online system does not allow me to complete the claim, I kindly request that you accept this complaint through this communication and advise me on how to proceed, or process my compensation claim directly. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response.- Sao Paulo-London

Technical problems
On the 17th of June 2026 our initial flight BA 057 was set to depart at 21H20 however the flight boarding was delayed till 10pm and then delayed again. We eventually boarded and were on the runway for at least an hour plus and then we were advised while on the plane our flight was cancelled. We needed to get off and collect baggage and then proceed to the bus terminal, I think it was number 19 and BA staff would be there to assist us with accommodation for the evening. No issues at this stage as these things can happen, however the nightmare unraveled when numerous passengers were all waiting for emails on where they would go and what bus to get on (busses were waiting by this time). The two ladies from BA were unsure of what was going on as there was only one person on duty upstairs and they were battling to get information. They were going to print emails but then the printer or system was offline etc. Many of the passengers managed to get bussed off, the busses came a few times, there was however a group of us where nothing was happening. Eventually a "Manager" came down after we asked if we could go inside the airport again as by this time it was about 2:30AM we were left outside in the cold, no water nothing, elderly and babies in the group as well. Only to be told there were no hotels available then around 2:45AM given a voucher for a hotel we had to make our own way to across London via taxi (Busses all gone by this time) and then make our own way back the next day! How was this to happen, get to the hotel at what time to check out 11am? We asked if we could rather sit in the BA lounge to save BA costs and we could at least try get some sleep and something to eat or drink. We were told this was not possible as we were not part of the BA Club? But we were a BA passenger??? Eventually around 4:30AM trying to sort things out a group of us decided better just to stay where we were and wait it out, BA did not bother with us leaving us stranded in the airport. We Luckly found a lady buy the name of JIT from Terminal A who really was so amazing and listened to our situation, she helped us with getting our baggage sorted instead of us having to carry it around 24 hours and managed to get us a voucher for some food, she was arranging more but then BA refused? We were left there the entire day till 21:20PM on the 18th left to our own devices. We managed to find out we could pay for a shower at least to try freshening up as best we could after this ordeal. The fact that we were treated so poorly by the Manager on Duty that night / morning was crazy, it really was a case of "take it or leave it" I'm not permitted to do anything else. we watched the staff have a laugh outside taking selfies while all of this was going on, it was really dreadful treatment and a horrible experience- Glasgow-Johannesburg

Problems at airport
Dear British Airways Customer Relations, I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the cancellation of our flight from London to Glasgow due to air traffic issues. Unfortunately, this was one of the most stressful and disappointing travel experiences I have ever had. My wife and I had just completed a six-hour connecting flight from Saudi Arabia to London and were due to continue our journey to Glasgow. However, upon arriving at Terminal 4 in London, we were informed that our flight had been cancelled. The next available flight was not for another two days. We were fortunate to retrieve our luggage, but I sincerely wish we had been informed of the cancellation much earlier. Had British Airways notified us before we departed Saudi Arabia, I could have postponed my holiday by two days at no additional cost, allowing our travel dates to match our return flight. Instead, we only learned about the cancellation after landing in London. To make matters worse, we received no emails or communication regarding hotel accommodation, meal vouchers, or compensation. I attempted to use the online chat service, but there were over 60 people in the queue. I also tried calling customer service multiple times, but no one answered. Since there was no British Airways customer service desk at Terminal 4, I had to take the train to Terminal 5 while carrying two large suitcases simply to ask about accommodation and meal arrangements. Unfortunately, the experience there was equally frustrating. The staff appeared unsure of the correct procedures and repeatedly directed me between different zones. I was sent from Zone H to Zone E, then to Zone C, and back to Zone H again. I felt like I was being bounced around like a ping-pong ball. Eventually, a member of staff informed me that I should book my own hotel and British Airways would reimburse the costs. I found this unusual, as airlines normally arrange accommodation directly and provide meal vouchers during disruptions. When I asked for the staff member's name so I could reference our conversation in my claim, they refused to provide it and walked away. This gave me the impression that they were not confident in the advice they had given. I eventually managed to get through to the online chat service, where I was told I would receive an SMS message with further information. Unfortunately, that message never arrived. By this point, I was unable to find any nearby hotels, as they all appeared to be fully booked. We had no choice but to travel nearly an hour by taxi to a mediocre hotel. The room had no air conditioning, only a noisy fan that produced more noise than cooling. We barely managed to sleep that night. After this experience, I decided that I could not spend another night there waiting for the replacement flight, so I purchased train tickets to Glasgow at my own expense. This entire ordeal significantly disrupted and spoiled what was meant to be an enjoyable holiday. I would therefore appreciate reimbursement for the reasonable expenses we incurred as a direct result of the flight cancellation, including: Our hotel accommodation. Taxi transportation to and from the hotel. Meals purchased during the disruption. I also attempted to cancel the replacement flight. However, because the original booking was made through my sponsor, the Saudi Government, only they were able to make changes to the booking. When I contacted them, they informed me that they were unable to cancel the flight from their end. The only action I could take was to contact British Airways and request that my wife and I be unchecked from the flight, hoping that our seats could be made available to other passengers. I understand that disruptions can occur due to circumstances beyond an airline's control. However, the lack of communication, the absence of clear assistance, and the confusion experienced while trying to obtain basic support were unacceptable. I hope British Airways will acknowledge the inconvenience and distress caused and reimburse the expenses we incurred. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response. Kind regards, Ibrahim- London-Glasgow

My flight was on 3rd April from Berling to Kirkwell. I traveled alone with one bag. In London there i found that flight from London to Kirkwell (BA7852/LM0622) was canceled. Loganair representatives were hard to find on airport and didnt provide me my rights. I was delayed to my destination by 7hrs - Arrived in kirkwell with flight LM0038 around 19.20 My luggage was lost and delivered 3 days later. Both claims were sent to Loganair via their online claim form on 4th April. Both claimS were confirmed as received (see attached screenshot). I request compensation for delayed flight as per (UK261) and compensation for my recipt from Tesco where I bought essentials.- Schonefeld-Kirkwall

No customer service - no numbers and no-one to speak to
My daughter arrived for her flight 3 hours before departure in Madrid. There was a large queue but she checked in advance of 2 hours. She checked in 2 large suitcases and a a holdall (she has been studying for a year in Madrid and is returning home). Her flight left 20 mins late but arrived on time in LHR and she presumed her luggage would therefore make the flight from LHR to MCR. On arrival at MCR her luggage did not arrive - well the checked in holdall did but not the suitcases. She was advised the luggage was still in Madrid. After filling in a missing luggage form I picked her up. The staff advised she would definitely receive a call this morning. No call and she could not find any update on line or by SMS. She called BA (no numbers to find and lost luggage link would not accept her details) and spent c60 mins on a call just to be notified her luggage is still in Madrid but currently they can only locate 1 bag. A further call this pm advised that 72 hours is the leadtime so she may (?) receive her luggage by 10pm Friday night. She has no clothes at home and was due to go to London tomorrow with clothes for 2 weeks - she is working at Wimbledon - but now cant go until her cases arrive. So ticket money wasted and she has only winter clothese to wear. In hindsight i should have advised her against using BA based on previous experience - 3 Years ago my husband had a once in a lifetime bike trip to Alaska planned with a friend but his luggage including his bike, never made the flight from MCR and sat there for 3 days whilst I visited the airport every day asking for it to go on a flight. By the time the bike and case arrived (c5 days late) it was too late to embark on the trip. No compensation received from BA for all hotels, travel costs etc. And 4 years ago I flew to HK from MCR via LHR. My case did not make it to HK. It did arrive 2 days late and that was largely due to the efficiency of HK airport groundstaff not BA. The moral of the story and experiences is sadly not to fly with BAOverall

Terrible airline and will make sure everyone in my company never flies with you again
Worst experience I've ever had on a plane. Flight was delayed 3 hours but we were offered no food or drink as you were legally required to do. You put me in a middle seat for both connecting flights even though I'm over 6 foot and you lost my luggage. Hopefully it will be delivered today. I am never flying BA again. I'll make sure everyone in my company knows how horribly you treat your customers. emirates was cheaper and I could have gotten economy plus for less than economy with BA. I'm going to contact my company booking company and let them know how horribly I was treated.Overall

Delayed baggage and inept customer service causing undue extreme stress and distress
Our 4 bags were left at Terminal 5 on the 15th May . We travelled to Spain for our daughter's wedding and were categorically told that the cases would be manually taken to the plane. We would not have taken the flight otherwise. I made 30 calls to BA totalling 285 minutes from 16-29th May. The information I was given was, incorrect , conflicting and at one time patronising. The files created for delayed baggage are ridiculous as customers do not know which receipt is for which case out of 4, SOUTH office was atrocious and unreachable even for BA staff. The lead up to the wedding was ruined causing undue stress and distress we collected our last two cases 29th May, two weeks after arriving while trackers showed they had been sitting at Malaga airport since 21st. After each call I received emails saying the cases had been delivered which was incorrect causing more confusion. We have receipts for expenses which are minimal as we did not have the energy or inclination to shop except what was essential for our celebrations. We feel strongly entitled to reimbursement and compensation for the ruin and distress of this special time .- Economy

Flight was initially delayed 3 hours, then as we went to take off there was a technical delay giving a future delay up to the 5:17 total delay, BA claim is incorrect as the NOTAM was put in place 8th May and could have been avoided, total delay was down to technical issues- London-Cancun

Flight was delayed due to "late arrival of the aircraft", as per BA's own email updates. The flight was delayed enough to miss the curfew at London City, so our flight was diverted to London Southend, where we landed about 1h30m late. From there we were told to find a way to make it back home. We managed to use some of the money BA provided through an app call Swiipr to get a train to London Liverpool Street. Then we took an Uber home, as the tube was closed. Now BA claims there were thunderstorms in Florence, which was not the case. The plane was late on its way from Amsterdam. The reason was not specified.- Florence-London

We were all at the gate waiting to board the flight - and the ground staff made an announcement saying the flight was delayed as they "were waiting for the flight crew to arrive at the gate." They had also said "the pilots were already at the gate" and that the "plane was ready to depart once the other crew arrive." The flight was delayed another two times - before it was cancelled. The airline then blamed bad weather. However, other flights, both with British Airways and other carriers, were operating at that time (I have screenshots).- London-Frankfurt
