Complaint regarding unauthorized alteration of purchased seats
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the seating arrangements on my recent flight to London. During the purchase of tickets, I paid an additional fee to reserve specific seats, ensuring comfort and convenience for myself and my family. However, upon checking in, I was dismayed to find that the seats assigned to us were different from those originally purchased. This was both frustrating and inconvenient, as the purpose of paying for seat selection is to secure the exact seats chosen in advance. The change not only undermined the value of the service I paid for, but also caused unnecessary stress during the travel experience. I kindly request clarification on why this occurred, and I would appreciate a refund of the seat selection fees. I trust that your airline values customer satisfaction and will take steps to ensure this situation does not happen again. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.- London-Larnaca

Technical problems
I was scheduled to arrive at my final destination on 5th November at 06:15 GMT, but due to British Airways rescheduling, I arrived on 6th November at 06:20 GMT, a full 24-hour delay. I was informed of this change less than two hours before my scheduled departure, leaving me no time to make alternative arrangements or notify my workplace, which severely impacted my professional commitments. BA offered no alternative route, accommodation, or assistance. This caused significant disruption, additional travel costs of £70–£90 for two airport trips, and loss of productive work hours. I demand a full refund and £100 compensation on my next booking for this unacceptable inconvenience.- Pune-Glasgow

Luggage not bring delierved & Poor customer service
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the extremely poor customer service I experienced with British Airways. My holiday was severely impacted because my luggage was not delivered as promised, despite being assured it would arrive within 48–72 hours. Due to this delay, I was unable to leave my accommodation for fear of missing the delivery. This was particularly distressing as I suffer from severe asthma and eczema and had packed essential prescription medication, which I struggled without throughout my trip. Being a young woman travelling in India without my luggage was both dangerous and highly stressful. To make matters worse, the service I received from British Airways staff was deeply disappointing. I called at least three times a day to track my bag, yet each time I was told to “wait” and that they had no idea where my luggage was. When I finally had to leave my accommodation, I informed your team not to deliver to the original address. After spending over an hour on the phone, the advisor failed to update the system, and my bag was delivered to the wrong location. Later, I requested delivery to my home address in Edinburgh, but the advisor incorrectly recorded my address, causing further delays and inconvenience. As a result, I incurred significant unplanned expenses purchasing clothes and essentials, which negatively affected both my holiday and my health. I am requesting reimbursement for all related expenses, along with compensation for the poor service I received. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I will not be flying with British Airways again. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate it further.Overall

Terrible service by Sam Singha Complaints Manager
On the 20th October 2025, I was told by Sam Singha the Complaints Manager at BA I would receive a refund of £190.00. He listened to a recording where a refund was promised to me. He said it would be in my account 7-10 days. I waited no refund I called this morning 10/11/2025 to be told BA would not honour this refund even though there are now two recordings of a promised refund. I am very upset how badly this was handled. BA should honour what was said. The original case no.08089762 - a bereavement were all the requested documents were sent and a refund was promised for the return flight. Regards Chantal Moore Mobile no,07929742038Overall

Terrible Customer Service & Protocols
After being at the airport in plenty of time for our flight, we received a text advising plane would be 40+ minutes late. Due to this text, we didn't hurry to the boarding gate and when almost there, we received a phone call asking where we were? Of course we sprinted to the boarding gate only find out they had already closed the doors and wouldn't let us board. Our luggage had been checked in for over 4 hours. The plane then sat at the terminal for a further 40 minutes with us trying to contact someone from BA (they hung up on us twice). We then had to buy 4 more tickets to travel to Johannesberg (albeit arriving a day late) as we had another tour waiting for us. Due to the delay, we have been out of pocket in excess of $12,000. I am asking BA for compensation for our airfare that we had to purchase in order to leave Amsterdam. BA insists that although the text could have been misleading, they are not able to send further texts saying plane was now on time and that all protocols have been followed. If they had not sent the text, there would have been no issue and we would of been able to enjoy the balance of our once in a life time trip.Overall

Weather conditions
I got to the Airport on the day of my flight at Accra kotoka international airport at checkin point and i was told my flight will go through Brussels wafted I get to Heathrow because the flight from Heathrow to Edinburgh was cancelled due to bad weather and was directed through Brussels but I didn’t have a legal entry to Brussels so they gave me two options either I wait and get a later flight in the evening or a train. I then settled for a train. Upon my arrival at the Heathrow airport, I went to speak with the airline customer service and asked them to just book the train ticket to Glasgow. They assisted me and asked me to get the train from euston to Glasgow but I got there and all the trains were cancelled so I was directed to Kingscross train station to get a train to Edinburgh. I then got there booked a 95 pounds ticket to Edinburgh and then another ticket from Edinburgh to Glasgow.- London-Edinburgh

Denied baggage claim due to deadline
Because my baggage did not arrive with me, I needed to purchase some items. I'm just recently returning home after an extended holiday and just getting to the reimbursement process. This occurred on the very first day of my adventure, and extended 17 days. I was denied because I missed the 21 day deadline. I honestly did not think about filing a claim in the last four days...my fault. I don't think 21 days is reasonable in this situation.Overall

Lost Walker (Scooter Rental)
Since I didn't have my walker I had to rent a scooter for the 15 days I was on the cruise ship. Also, I wasn't able to go on some excursions since I didn't have my walker. It created limitations on my trip which took away some enjoyment.Overall

What time did you arrive at your final destination? I eventually arrived at Milan Linate Airport at approximately 18:00, several hours later than originally scheduled due to the cancellation and re-routing. What did the airline tell you, and when?, At Washington DC Airport Dulles I was informed that my connecting flight to Milan Linate had been cancelled. British Airways staff rebooked me on a later service departing from London City Airport. What care did the airline provide, if any? No direct care was provided at Heathrow in terms of transportation or assistance. I was not offered a transfer between airports, meals, or any other support at the time. How did the incident inconvenience you? The re-routing caused considerable disruption. I had to arrange my own transfer between Heathrow and London City Airport, which took over two hours and required leaving the airport, meaning I also needed an ETA. This created additional stress, uncertainty, and extra expenses, as well as a significant delay to my journey. Did you miss an event or lose money? Yes. I incurred out-of-pocket expenses for transport between Heathrow and London City, as well as food and drink while waiting for the new flight. Moreover, I lost valuable time and experienced great inconvenience on a long-haul itinerary, which affected my plans upon arrival in Milan. I also spend an added night in Milan- Washington-Milan

Other - They lost my luggage then 2 days later send it across the world where I'm not. I told them specifically where to send it and they do the opposite. I've never been screwed this hard. You guys at least could've sent me lube or some lipstick so I look good right before the humiliation. I've been wearing the same clothes for a few days and I'm trying to keep my cool but deep inside I'm pretty pissed.

A MINUS -38 RATING IS VERY GENEROUS
If I could give a Minus rating. then a --minus 38 would be generous. This airline is even worse than Fred Flintstone's Taradactyl Airlines. Their reservation agents changed my confirmed seat 19G(chosen by me so that I can have my right arm in the aisle if necessary) to 18D on the other side of the plane, but in the middle 4 rows. They had seated me next to a wino drunken woman. They even tried to move me to Regular Economy from the Premium Economy, which I had paid $280 for. At dinner time we were given the choice of beef or chicken(Spicy Indian style butter chicken). Because of my health, I am unable to tolerate hot spices, so I chose the beef option. But they 'ran out' after serving about 2 rows in Premium Economy. Then I was offered the pasta option just as my wino passenger next to me had received. I then was told that they had run out of pasta as well.g Ironically he had enough pasta to serve the rows behind me, but not for me. His colleague on the other side of the plane asked Gary I.(My server) for a beef dinner. Miraculously there was one left at the bottom of his cart. So, Gary sent it across two rows of passengers to the other side, still leaving me without dinner. He then proceeded to make the wino passenger even more drunk, and spilled white wine on my dress trousers and my white dress shirt. He continued on delivering food to other passengers, but not me, promising to get me a piece of pie, but never delivering. Gary, Rebecca(supervisor), William, Antonio all had a very obvious fake disingenuous smile. Gary had lied to Rebecca about my 'complaint of no beef', which was bs. She tried to blame the catering staff, but never told her colleagues to get me my full dinner, and tried to pass off a small plate with 4 totally flattened circles of dough, accompanied by a stale bun with a clearly distinguishable mold spot. It also came with a 2x3 inch piece of lettuce with half an olive. All four of the mentioned staff were so embarassed by having left me without food for over 8 1/2 hours that none of these chicken shits dared to return to the Premium Economy cabin during the rest of the flight. At breakfast time I asked Antonio for 2 pieces of breakfast. He complied, but when I looked at the outside of the box, I noticed that the Best Before Date was August 2025. I am still trying to relate my experience to their customer service, but their website keeps crashing when I try to submit my case of 38 complaints during my 9 hour 40 minute flight from London Heathrow to Vancouver, Canada on BA0085 on Friday October 17, 2025.Overall

This is what I wrote to them in the first week of March (below). A few days later, I received an email (screenshot attached) with an apology and a £150 voucher, stating that if I wasn’t satisfied, I could get in touch. I did so, using the email address provided, the very next day. That was on March 13th, and I’ve never received a reply since. I kept sending emails until the end of May, all of which went unanswered. The flight was supposed to land in London at 2:10 PM on March 7th, but we landed around 5:30 PM. After all the emails, I even tried calling them in June, and was told that the case had been closed! I couldn’t believe it — how could it be closed if I had never received a reply or any official update about it? Complaint Regarding Flight BA0240 – March 6th, São Paulo to London Dear British Airways Customer Service, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with our recent experience on flight BA0240 from São Paulo to London on March 6th. I was travelling with my family—my four-year-old daughter and my pregnant wife (eight months)—and unfortunately, the journey was far from what we expected from British Airways. Upon arrival at the airport, we found that the flight was already delayed by an hour. Once on board, around 12:30 AM, another issue arose that required all passengers to disembark with their luggage, return to the terminal, pass through security again, and reboard the aircraft. From what I witnessed, this seemed to be due to a passenger being on board without a boarding pass. This was an extremely uncomfortable situation, especially for families with young children. My daughter, like many others, had already fallen asleep, and having to wake her up, carry her off the plane with all our belongings—while my wife, being pregnant, couldn’t carry any weight—made it even more difficult. She then struggled to fall back asleep and had a terrible night, which could have been avoided if everything had gone as it should. Additionally, dinner was further delayed as a consequence of this situation. In the end, the flight departed at around 4:00 AM, an unacceptable delay. To make matters worse, two hours before landing in London, my family and I were starving, and the second meal (breakfast) had not been served. I waited another hour and still nothing. When I finally asked the crew, I was simply told that “there wasn’t enough time”—which makes no sense, as the flight duration remained the same. We paid for a ticket that included two meals but were served only one. My daughter was hungry, my pregnant wife needed food, and had I not asked, I am unsure if anything would have even been mentioned about it. This was a terrible experience, and we truly felt let down. Not only did we face a long delay, but we also missed our pre-booked coach to Bournemouth, adding to the inconvenience. We have always enjoyed flying with British Airways, but this experience makes us reconsider if we should continue to do so. While no compensation can truly make up for all the issues we faced, I strongly believe that some form of compensation is more than justified.- Sao Paulo-London

On JUN29-th 2025 I was travelling on a route Berlin - London - Aberdeen, but I did not get to Aberdeen eventually. First flight Berlin - London BA995 was delayed of approx. 1 hour, then when landed in London my flight to Aberdeen already departed. Then I was offered new flight for the next day to Aberdeen i.e. JUN30-th on which I initially agreed. But I was travelling for a job onboard a vessel in Aberdeen, and eventually after I agreed to get to Aberdeen on 30-th leaving at 16:00 from London, vessel informed me that they will depart from Aberdeen on JUN30-th at 15:00 - this was one hour before new proposed departure time. Then I contacted BA service desk in London to cancel my new flight on 30-th, I got hotel for overnight stay from BA airlines and the next day I had to buy a new ticket back from London to Berlin on my company expense. So eventually I left from Berlin to London on 29-th. but I never got to the destination in Aberdeen to do my job onboard a vessel. When I asked British Airways for compensation, this is what they replied and closed the case: Dear Mr Juszkiewicz An update from British Airways We’re sorry it was necessary to delay your flight from Berlin on 29 June 2025 and understand why you needed to get in contact about this. We take all reasonable measures to avoid delaying a flight, and we’ll always consider if there are any alternative solutions available before we make a decision Your claim has been refused because, while we regret the inconvenience caused, you chose not to accept the rebooking offered and instead returned to Berlin. As a result, the journey to your final destination, Aberdeen, was not completed. Under current regulations, compensation is assessed based on the delay experienced at the final destination. Since you did not arrive in Aberdeen, the conditions for compensation are not met, and we are unable to approve your claim. Once again, we're sorry for your experience this time. Please feel free to contact us if we can help you any further, and I hope we have the chance to welcome you on board again soon. Servizio bagaglio non adeguato
I recently traveled with BA from Rome to London and back. On both legs, I was forced to check in my hand luggage because the flight was allegedly full. When I complained, the flight attendant repeatedly pointed out that the contract stipulates that the airline must check hand luggage at the time of boarding due to crowding issues. Beyond the formality, however, I would suggest that BA find a way to at least communicate to passengers before boarding that their luggage will be sent. This would avoid problems and inconveniences, as in my case, related to the fact that I had connecting domestic flights that were incompatible with the baggage collection times at my destination.Overall
