PREVENTED FROM BOARDING AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
PREVENTED FROM BOARDING Good day, My name is Bankole Akinrele. I was confirmed for a Lagos to Atlanta flight this morning 22nd of November 2025. Confirmation number: HU2JT9. My flight was scheduled for 11.40am. I arrived at Delta Airlines check in about 9.40am where my documents were screened. It became apparent that my current passport did not include my US visa. It was on my expired Nigerian visa. So, I asked to see the Supervisor who explained to me that check in will close at 10.10am. This is against the information provided that passengers must check in within one hour of departure time which effectively will be 10.40am I told the Supervisor my wife was already on the way with my expired passport with the US visa and my luggage's were in the precinct of the check in area. She arrived at 10.20am and went outside to pick the passport and presented it at 10.24am. I was now shocked when the Supervisor said check in had closed. There were 4 people who I met at the gate to the check in precinct who were told that they arrived late after the check in time. He then turned round to me to say if he allowed me to check in the others will feel disgruntled. But I suggested that their case was different as they arrived late. It is on this grounds that I was denied check in having arrived at 9.40am. Moreover, the other 4 people also made it clear that passengers were never advised in correspondence that check in closes 90 minutes before takeoff. In fact, the information provided says passengers must check in at least 1 hour before takeoff. In this case check in should close by 10.40am. So, in effect I was denied entry with over one hour before departure. Secondly, I was treated in the category of those who arrived for check in late as opposed to promptly. To make matters worse when I tried to book like the others for the next day, I was given a note on the piece of paper to call a US number +1 800 221 1212 as my ticket was paid for from the US. Apparently on the screen she was directed to charge me $1181.30cents (One thousand one hundred and eight one US Dollars for an original ticket I bought for about $1631. The ticket was not paid for from the US. I purchased the ticket online from Nigeria with my US Dollar visa card domiciled in Lagos. A very important lesson I have learnt is not to ever buy a ticket from Delta Airlines in US Dollars. I called Delta Airlines customer number to protest about this, and I was now told to pay either $254 or N380,000.32k for a change to the ticket for next day flight. I think this is most unfair for the following reasons: 1. No one advised us that check-in closes 90 minutes before departure which is contrary to the 1 hour normally cited. 2. I arrived at the counter 2 hours before flight departure and should have been allowed to board especially after one person was being seen to check in. 3. We noticed that one out of the 4 persons who arrived late was being checked in until we pointed this out to the Supervisor who then intervened to stop that person from being allowed to check in. Your internal investigation can unravel this. He had to be checked out before our very eyes I had to transfer N380,004.32k 1.10pm today and forwarded confirmation receipt at the same time but they are yet to confirm the confirmed flight change at 4.13pm. I further reported that the customer service representative chatting with me on WhatsApp that Delta Airlines had debited my US visa card on September 3, 2025, for an amount of $23.11 twice thereby debiting $46.22 which they promised will be reversed in 7 days but as off today they are yet to reverse the $46.22c they claim they never received. My son has since paid the $23.11 to Delta Airlines but my refund is still hanging somewhere in your system. Finally, to my surprise the customer representation chatting with me on watsapp now suggested given the inconveniences that I have been subjected to Delta Airlines will be willing to upgrade me to business class if I was willing to pay an additional N98,600. This I clearly rejected. The inconvenience I had been put through had now become a marketing tool after paying an additional N380,004.32c. The full details are in our WhatsApp chat. This is the first time I ever tried fling Delta Airlines, and I do so with much regret. Please confirm my booking for tomorrow as it has not been updated on the app. And please ensure the $46.22 that was credited to your account be reversed most urgently.Overall

My flight from Amsterdam on September 7, 2025 was canceled just one h before departure. I was already on air flying from OTP Bucharest and I had no idea that the flight from Amsterdam was canceled, I was only aware about the situation when I lended in Amsterdam and I was looking for my flight. Delta only reimbursed for meals Also provided me hotel accommodation I was strain in Amsterdam for24h with no baggage, I had to purchase basic change of clothes, which I was not reimbursed for, moreover the alternative flight DL 71 / Dl74 on September 8 was also delayed for 6 h. All this was very stressful and inconvenient for me I had to arrive at the airport at 7:00 am just to find out that my flight to Atlanta was delayed, then after boarding at 12:40 - just before departure (take off) the aircraft was showing technical problems so it was called back to tarmac for mechanical maintenance, that caused more delay and subsequently more delay on Atlanta. The whole trip experience was horrible. Sincerely, Marilena Herschel- Amsterdam-Valparaiso

Rude and militant bag experience
I was forced to check my bag to board and find basically open bins. The staff was rude and militant in their announcementsOverall

Awful company, should be put under
I had four legs of a round trip flight. One 30 minute flight, one 4 hour flight, and then reversed. I asked to cancel the first 4 hour flight, but to keep the remaining three. No problem, they said. We’ll cancel only that one segment. Very explicit, no uncertain terms from an agent named Gerwin. Turned out they cancelled everything, gave me no credit because my first 30 minute flight “exceeded the price of the remaining flights” somehow, and basically told me to eat it. I put a yearly reminder in my calendar to never fly Delta again. Eat it, D.Overall

The oldest airplane in your fleet has THE most uncomfortable, lumpy, hard seats for a 6 hour flight. The cabin conditions were freezing and there were NO blankets or pillows for a flight from Boston at 9pm to LAX. The upper storage also doesn't accommodate the smallest of travel bags. It's a really old plane. And with a Comfort + Seat, there was NOTHING comfortable about this seat. The other Delta flights were very comfortable. This one - NOT.Overall

Terrible customer service gave seats away
You gave away our seats because our flight was delayed but we made it!!! We got to the plane before boarding even started, but no seats because you idiots gave them away!!! Now we get to wait over 3 hours for the next flight. To make it even worse you reassigned us to coach seats when 1st class was available. What kind of poor service is that??? Thank god we got a good gate agent that realizes how you tried to screw us over!! Nothing but trash for service! You are now our last choice airline and I hope we never have to fly delta again!!! Inadequate cleanliness observed around the vents
During my recent flight from ATL to RDU, I observed that the vents above my seat appeared to be uncleaned for an extended period. They were noticeably dirty, prompting me to take photographs for documentation. Upon exiting the aircraft, I brought this issue to the attention of the flight attendants. However, their response was indifferent, and they simply acknowledged my concerns without further action.Overall

Technical problems
We supposed to have a direct flight from Zürich to NY(jfk), Sunday afternoon and Im supposed to get back at work the next day Monday. But they cancelled it, and rebooked our flight Monday morning, but this time from Zürich to Amsterdam then Amsterdam to NY, but unfortunately our connecting flight to Amsterdam to NY was cancelled again, and rebooked us again Tuesday morning. This time from Amsterdam to Paris then Paris to NY. And it all went good. But I should be at work on Monday and Tuesday but because of the cancelled flights. I lost some of my wages.- Zurich-New York

I had 2 different PNR, the one provided in the beginning of this claim and then the original OFA2DG. We had to change gates at JFK continually, gate personnel came out at last gate and told us (as passengers were deboarding) that we would be loading onto the plane in 15 minutes after plane was cleaned. Then a message over the public address that flight was cancelled. No offer of hotel for the night or transfer or meal voucher. We had to book and pay for a hotel, pay for an UBER to get to the hotel, and then pay for an UBER to get home as our home ride could not return the next day to pick us up.- Edinburgh-Toronto

Negligence in handling a disabled passenger. Disability rights violations (ADA & ACAA). Emotional and physical damages caused by staff conduct.
To Whom It May Concern, My name is Melvin Kelly Sr., a 63-year-old disabled traveler who requires wheelchair assistance at airports. On August 29th, 2025, while returning home to Los Angeles from Buffalo, NY, after attending my brother’s funeral, I suffered a disturbing and harmful incident at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) while being assisted by Delta Airlines staff. While being pushed in a wheelchair by a Delta contractor named Ziam, he failed to pay attention, was speaking with another employee behind him, and ran me directly into a wall. Despite my repeated shouts of “Stop!”, he continued pushing, jamming my leg, and nearly tipping me forward out of the chair. This negligence placed me at risk of serious injury. When I raised a concern, a man who identified himself as Mohammed #1 (claiming to be a manager) responded with hostility instead of assistance. He dismissed my injury, told me “we’re not serving you”, ordered Ziam to abandon me at the top of the platform, when I asked how I would get to the next terminal, Mohammed #1 said ( Figure it out), and stood over me in an intimidating, aggressive stance as though ready to fight. His behavior was threatening, discriminatory, and in clear violation of the basic duty of care for disabled passengers. Fortunately, a true supervisor, “Mohammed #2 (contact: 1-734-460-3411), later arrived and acknowledged Ziam’s admission on video that he did not look forward while pushing me and kept forcing the chair into the wall. I have this admission and the aggressive conduct of Mohammed #1 documented on video. This experience left me not only physically impacted but also humiliated, unsafe, and denied the disability accommodations I am legally entitled to under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA). I am seeking to hold Delta Airlines and its contracted employees accountable for: * Negligence in handling a disabled passenger. * Violation of disability rights and denial of required accommodations. * Threatening and hostile treatment from airline staff. * Emotional and physical harm suffered during the incident. I am prepared to provide video evidence, witness testimony, and contact information of the involved staff. Thank you, Sincerely, Melvin Kelly Sr. 323-861-7138 Incident Timeline & Supporting Facts Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) Passenger: Melvin Kelly Sr., 63 years old, disabled traveler requiring wheelchair assistance. Date of Incident: August 29, 2025 Airline/Flight: Delta Airlines, Flight DL5199 (Buffalo → Detroit, connection to Los Angeles) #1. Background I require wheelchair assistance at airports due to disability. My son was traveling with me, carrying both our bags, while the Delta staff assisted me in a wheelchair. We were connecting at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) on August 29, 2025. # 2. The Incident Employee Identified as “Ziam” After being transferred from an aisle chair into a standard wheelchair at DTW, Ziam was tasked with transporting me. Despite my son’s arms being full of luggage, Ziam insisted that he take over pushing the wheelchair. My son explained he could not. Ziam then turned the wheelchair abruptly, began pushing me forward, and started conversing with another employee behind him, instead of watching where he was going. As a result, he ran me directly into a wall in a curved section of the platform. My Immediate Reaction I loudly yelled “Stop! Stop!” as my leg was pinned and bent back against the wall. Ziam did not stop and continued pushing, stating later that he thought I was yelling at someone else. The wheelchair tipped forward, nearly throwing me out of the seat, before he finally stopped. #3. Aggressive Managerial Response. Mohammed #1” (False Manager Claim) Instead of assisting me or apologizing, Ziam called over another employee, who identified himself as “Mohammed #1” (the manager in charge). Ziam said something in a non-English language to Mohammed #1, after which: Mohammed #1 became aggressive and hostile. When I explained I had been hurt, he told me “We’re not serving you” and instructed Ziam to leave me at the top of the ramp. When I asked how I would reach my next flight, Mohammed #1 responded: “Figure it out.” During this exchange, Mohammed #1 stood directly behind my wheelchair in a rocking, combative stance as though preparing to physically intimidate or fight me, a 63-year-old disabled passenger in a wheelchair. #4. Intervention by True Supervisor “Mohammed #2” (Verified Manager, Contact: 1-734-460-3411) A nearby Delta employee witnessed the aggression and called the actual supervisor, identified as “Mohammed #2.” Upon arrival, Mohammed #2 confirmed he was the real manager. Ziam admitted in front of witnesses and on *video recording* that he: Was not looking forward while pushing the wheelchair. Continued pushing me into the wall despite my shouts of “Stop.” Mohammed #2 had to order Mohammed #1 to back away from the wheelchair, as Mohammed #1 was continuing to make threatening gestures behind my wheelchair. #5. Witness: My son, who was traveling with me, witnessed the entire event. Contact: Mohammed #2 (verified supervisor) – 1-734-460-3411. #6. DELTA PLACING EMPLOYEES ABOVE PAYING CUSTOMERS
Prior to boarding agent told passengers to check their bags, if not and and they had to check them that you may not see your baggage for a couple of days ( sounded as a threat ) reason for this was 24 DELTA EMPLOYEES were traveling on the flight and they each had two bags. Watching the Delta employees board they put BOTH bags in the overhead, taking up most of the space making people store their bags under the seat, this included my grandsons. My question is why did the Delta employees take precedence over paying customers, they could had checked their luggage and why were they allowed to put their small bags in the overhead? My conclusion, Delta cared more for their employees than customers. Forgot to mention how rude the flight attendants were....Delta is getting to be second class!Overall

Please view my previous claim regarding this matter: #498792. This new claim I am now submitting includes information I can provide on arriving showing I arrived even later once my initial flight on May 16th was cancelled. Events from May 17th: I fly out from Indianapolis to Atlanta under KLM's codeshare with Delta. They never gave me email receipts of any ticket. I arrived to Atlanta and the flight was delayed which would make me miss my connection in AMS. I arrived in the knick of time to board my connnection in Schipol to BRU. However, KLM gave me a new ticket and told me the message I received up there. I wish I had all of the flight numbers but this was a cluster of problems starting May 16th that cancelled my initial flight by 24 hours then the remedied solution added another 3 hours or tardiness to my arrival. 27GODZINNE OPÓŹNIENIE LOTU!
Dear Delta Airlines Customer Care, I am submitting a compensation claim under EC Regulation 261/2004 regarding my disrupted journey on [date]. My original itinerary was Charlotte (CLT) – New York (JFK) – Paris (CDG) – Warsaw (WAW). The first flight from Charlotte to New York was delayed, which caused me to miss my onward connection to Paris. As a result, I was denied boarding, forced to wait for approximately 16 hours at the airport, and only reached Warsaw about 24 hours later than scheduled via an alternative routing (New York – Boston – Amsterdam – Warsaw). This disruption caused me significant inconvenience, financial loss (as I missed a scheduled work shift), and unnecessary stress. Importantly, my sister, who was traveling on the same booking and itinerary, has already received compensation of €600 from Delta for this exact disruption. Since we were on the same flights and affected in the same way, I request equal treatment and the same compensation. Please find attached my booking reference, boarding passes, and relevant documents. I look forward to your prompt reply and resolution. Sincerely,Alicja KrajewskaOverall

Horrible customer service from beginning to end
Our original flight from Atlanta to London. Ended up being grounded in New York. The communication was only through email and horrible and they changed our plans four or five times. The accommodations were not acceptable nor realistic. Our second flight that was supposed to go to London ended up grounded the second day in Detroit. This time accommodations were provided in a moldy disgusting hotel room. Not to mention the 4 to 5 hours trying to find our luggage. Off today number three where we ended up in Orlando past where we originally started in Atlanta. Now missing three days of our London trip. Online check-in was never available so we are always having to go to the airport to try and check in. The way Back was ridiculous as well. Nobody wanted to take responsibility for anything that happened to us. Lost out on three days in London. Lost out on three days paying for hotels and meals. This is not to mention the excursions we had planned as well. No upgrade was ever offered in the majority of the time we couldn’t even talk to a real person. The customer service was horrible and none of the Delta employees seem to care or want to deal with us. The majority of the time we were appointed at a QR code. The absolute worst experience of our life.Overall
Flight canceled missed three days. Lot of out-of-pocket expenses. Day two hotel was disgusting and moldy.

Connecting flight to Bangalore, India from Amsterdam was missed because of a delayed back flight from LA. We were initially rebooked to a flight to Dubai but denied boarding at the gate by the KLM agent because they did not receive the rebooked details in their system due to a tech glitch. We were the rebooked again to the next flight to Bangalore which was only the next day. For ~22 hours , we were at the airport and were not put up in any hotel. We had to bear the cost of the hotel at the airport ourselves. We arrived at our final destination the next day (making it a total of a 24 hour delay). We not only lost significant amount of time but were also not taken care of by the airline, the staff was rude and curt and did not take any responsibility for the delays and inconvenience caused.- Salt Lake City-Bangalore

Terrible experience with delta
Tiffanie Toole 1800 Bonita Vista Dr Sparks, NV 89434 619-366-6576 August 17th 2025 Dear Delta Airlines Customer Service, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience on Delta Airlines flight DL3929, on August 11th, where my husband and I were unjustly removed from the aircraft. On the day of the flight, we arrived at the airport on time and followed all necessary procedures through TSA. We were ready to be home, but to our dismay, after the boarding process, we were approached and asked to de-board the plane. My husband and I then waited for 30-45 mins to be informed we were suspected of being under the influence and therefore unable to fly for 12 hours. Not once were we ever approached by anyone other than the man who de-boarded us. We were flying with friends in which they also didn’t understand why we were suspected of such a thing. Our friends flew home without us as we had to rebook the flight the following day at 3pm, which included a 4 hour layover. We did not arrive home until 10pm the day after we were unjustly removed. On the evening of the flight we were coming back from a Chargers game and proudly wearing Chargers gear, and I believe this may have contributed to the poor treatment we received. We were in no way inebriated, especially since our flight was after the game and we had to drive back to the airport to catch our flight home. I understand that airline staff must ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, and I appreciate their commitment to these principles. However, I believe that my case was handled poorly and without proper assessment of the situation. I feel that we were unfairly treated, and I hope that Delta Airlines can review this incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Given the distressing experience, I am formally demanding a full refund for our flights, as well as compensation for the hotel cost and time lost due to this incident. I believe it is only fair to address the significant inconvenience and emotional distress we endured because of how we were poorly treated. We not only missed work, but our son’s first day of school as well as afterschool pickup and football practice. I would appreciate a response regarding this situation and any actions that can be taken to address my concerns. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Overall

Actual party of 9 traveling. We arrived 1 day late. We checked in about 10:00am for a flight around 2:00pm. Apparently there was a problem with the plane’s toilet (got from inside info) very few announcements were made. No one was at customer service from Delta. The flight was canceled & we got into hotel they provided & had dinner around 9:00pm-10:00pm. Long day with grandchildren. One room had a broken air conditioner & unbelievably hot. The next day we started over with again VERY LITTLE information. Gate agents would not even answer questions. Our flight attendant was rude. The worst flight with delta I ever had. We did pay for our first days lunch after we were told of delay.- London-Oksibil

Flight delay / cancellation/ rebooking on inferior flight
Our flight was delayed several hours before it was finally cancelled due to inability to access jfk. We found an alternate flight with ITA, however, the quality of their business class turned out to be far inferior to the Delta One flight that we paid for. The staff was very kind but none of us flying together were able to sleep, and since I have an allergy that I addressed beforehand with delta, I could not eat on the ITA flight due to precaution. We also missed the entire first day of our trip. I would like to request a reimbursement for our flight( there are 4 passengers with me) even if it is in the form of a travel voucher or sky mile.- Economy

Late departure without updates. Unprofessional service.
Delta flight I flew on Delta Flt 752 from JFK to LAX on 30 June 2025. I was seated in 30 D and travel several times a year for business and pleasure. This was probably the worst experience I have had on an airline. To begin with, when we got on the 767, the temperature was about 90 degrees. The pilot told us the shore power hook was not functioning but he would get the aux power unit on line and it would cool things off shortly. So we sat in the aircraft for another 20 minutes waiting in the heat. Then the pilot stated the APU was not functioning so he would have to get another. We sat in the 90 degree heat for another 15 minutes waiting until he stated he was going to hook back up to shore power for cooling. That’s how we started the fiasco. Why did he wait the extra 15 minutes to reconnect to shore power while waiting on the second APY? Our scheduled takeoff was 2130. We sat on the ground until 2300 before takeoff with no updates from the flight deck on what was happening. The video monitor for my wife and I were not functioning so I asked a flight attendant for a reset. She said she would. 30 minutes later, no reset. During the beverage service my wife asked for a glass of wine. She was served warm wine in a paper cup. Because of the 90 degree heat during ground ops, I asked for a cranapple with the can. That’s what I received. No cup of ice, just an unopened can. Later in the flight I used the forward lav because the flight attendants were serving in the aft. I asked for a cup of orange juice and was told it would be brought to me. Not delivered. I went to the aft station, which was curtained off and I observed the flight attendants texting on their cell phones. When I knocked on the wall to get here attention, one of the attendants said “what do you need”. I asked for orange juice and received a warm cup of juice in a paper cup. I flew for the airlines for a time and know from the cockpit to the backend crew, this service was substandard and reflected a completely unprofessional service to the customer. I don’t write many reviews, but when I do they are for outstanding service or deplorable service. This was obviously the latter. Respectfully, Scott Barberides 8508328345- Economy
Delays for Flights
I originally was booked on a flight from Baltimore Maryland to Detroit Michigan which was canceled. I called to book a flight for that same day, I need to be home that night. The only flight they with Delta was from Baltimore to Atlanta to Detroit,I was charged $190 for this flight. My flight in Baltimore was then delayed, when we finally made it Atlanta, my flight in Atlanta Wes delayed, due to 96 bags than need to be put on the plane. Arrived in Detroit at about 6pm. Clarification for baggage allowance
I am writing to seek clarification regarding the infant baggage allowance for the above-mentioned booking references. The e-ticket clearly shows "1 PC" as the baggage allowance for the infant passenger. However, at the airport, the check-in counter staff informed the customer that only 10 kg was allowed for the infant and refused to accept a 23 kg bag (which should be equivalent to 1 PC as commonly understood). As a result, the customer was charged an additional CAD 240 for 13 kg of excess baggage. If the actual allowance for infants is 10 kg, it should have been specified as “10 kg” on the ticket instead of “1 PC” to avoid confusion. I kindly request your assistance in reviewing this matter and advising whether a refund or compensation is possible, given the misleading baggage information provided on the ticket.

Atlanta, DL130, July 10, 2025
I was in business class, seat 7A. Two complaints: a) drinks were offered shortly before dinner, then dinner was served but drinks were not offered again. With the nuts I had one beer and with dinner one glass of red wine. For dessert I had cheese and fruit plate with 3 (!) pieces of grapes. I had to ask 4 different people, waiting ca. 40 minutes, till I finally got a second glass with my cheese. In the whole business class your service people never came around with the drink trolley for a second time. NEVER!! b) And I think it is a complete joke to offer the tiniest little piece of chocolate (Valrhona) as a good bye present. Delta is better off to offer none at all than this piece. To me that was more like an insult. I don't know who made that decision in your company but this is completely inappropriate for business class. My ticket, by the way, did cost Euro 4,407.82, minimum $ 4,800! I would like to get your answer to my complaints as soon as possible, Ernst Guenter Walter- Economy
