Problems at airport

I don't have a a copy of the communication I sent to Easyjet as it was done within their website on line - I have had no response from them in any event. What happened on 21.08.2026. We were delayed from Olbia into MXP With Easyjet EJU 3586 - and they had not checked our bags all the way through to our final destination EDI. When we arrived in MXP we were further delayed collecting our 2X 24KG hold bags from the carousel. As we were delayed anyway - my wife Sophie & daughter Zinnia made the decision to carry on and catch the Easyjet MXP to EDI anyway - which theydid with just hand luggage. Mark & son Arlo stayed back to collect the hold bags. Eventually we got our bags and went to Bag drop for the EDI flight - but it was 40 mins to scheduled departure so Easyjet refused to let us bag drop the bags as they have a 1 hour cutoff. We were checked in online prior to our first flight. Easyjet had no alternative flight they could get us on until Tuesday 25th... They told us they could do nothing as we had booked the flights and were late to check in so it was our fault. However, we bought the tickets as a connecting flight with 1 stop as that's what was offered to us on their website. As they failed to get us to MXP from Olbia on time surely that is their fault. So, Arlo and Mark had to find another flight out of Milan. The only one we could find for us and 2X hold bags was from Bergamo airport later that day. We had problems checking Arlo in online and therefore required to get to Bergamo ASAP - so we took a taxi for EUR 240. We also needed food at Bergamo airport. The extra Ryanair flights for Arlo and Mark were Eur 475.96. All documentation attached. To add to matters - the Ryanair flight was significantly delayed out of Bergamo due to wet weather. We did not arrive at our final destination EDI until 01:00 on 22nd August.

Our flight from Amsterdam (AMS) to London Stansted (STN) on 29 August 2026 was cancelled. We were at Schiphol on time. At approximately 07:20, we found out that our flight had been cancelled, but the airline did not provide us with any information or a suitable alternative. We repeatedly asked for help at Schiphol and tried to get rebooked onto another flight, but nobody was able to help us. As a result, we were unable to travel to London and had to arrange our own journey back home. This was supposed to be our birthday trip to London, which we had planned and paid for in advance. We therefore missed our entire trip and the hotel that was included in our travel package. We also paid for visas/ETAs for the trip, which we were unable to use. We have not yet received the refund for our cancelled/unused flight or the applicable EU261 compensation. We also incurred additional costs because of the cancellation, including €66.60 for travelling from Schiphol back to Leeuwarden/Camminghaburen and €25.15 for food at Schiphol. We can provide receipts and proof of payment for these expenses. What time did you arrive at your final destination? We did not arrive at our intended final destination in London because our flight was cancelled. We had to return home from Schiphol to Leeuwarden/Camminghaburen at our own expense. What did the airline tell you, and when? At approximately 07:20 on 29 August 2026, we found out that our flight had been cancelled. The airline did not provide us with any information or a suitable alternative at that time. We repeatedly asked for help at Schiphol and tried to get rebooked onto another flight, but nobody was able to help us. What care did the airline provide, if any? The airline did not provide us with suitable care or assistance. We were not provided with alternative transportation or a suitable rebooking. We therefore had to arrange and pay for our own journey home from Schiphol. We also had to pay for our own food while dealing with the disruption. How did the incident inconvenience you? This was supposed to be our birthday trip to London, which we had planned and paid for in advance. Because our flight was cancelled, we missed the entire trip and the hotel that was included in our travel package. We also had to arrange our own journey home from Schiphol, pay for transportation and food ourselves, and deal with the cancellation and refund afterwards. We also paid for visas/ETAs for the planned trip that we were unable to use. We have now been trying to resolve this matter for a significant amount of time and still have not received our money back. Did you miss an event or lose money? Yes. We missed our planned birthday trip to London and the hotel that was included in our travel package. We also incurred the following expenses as a result of the cancellation: * €66.60 for our journey from Schiphol back to Leeuwarden/Camminghaburen * €25.15 for food at Schiphol * The cost of the visas/ETAs for our planned trip, which we were unable to use * The full cost of our cancelled/unused flight, which we still have not received back We can provide receipts and proof of payment for all applicable expenses.

I only have a written paper provided by the airline at the counter, recording the arrangements made for me following the flight delay and cancellation. I have uploaded a copy of this document as supporting evidence. I was checked in and waiting at the departure gate when my flight was delayed twice and was subsequently cancelled. The airline informed me of the cancellation and arranged an alternative flight and a taxi to a hotel for overnight accommodation. I was originally scheduled to arrive at my final destination on the evening of 14 September, but due to the cancellation, I arrived on the morning of 15 September. I had to stay overnight and travel on the replacement flight, which disrupted my original travel arrangements. The airline provided the taxi from the airport to the hotel, but I had to pay for the taxi from the hotel to the airport for my replacement flight, resulting in an additional out-of-pocket expense.

I am writing to make a formal complaint regardingmy recent return flight booking between Manchester and Paris Charles de Gaulle. My outbound flight EZY2105 from Manchester to Paris on Friday 18 September was delayed by over three hours, causing significant disruption to my travel plans. The return flight EZY2110 from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Manchester on Sunday 20 Septemberhas also been delayed by approximately1.5 hours already, with the departure now taking place late at night. This is particularlyunacceptable given the cumulative disruptioncaused by the delays on both legs of my journey. I paid for a service that was supposed toget me to and from my destination at theagreed times. Instead, I have experiencedsubstantial delays on both flights, causing considerable inconvenience and disruption. I therefore request a full refund of my booking, and I would also like you to confirm whether I am entitled to any additionalcompensation or reimbursement under the applicable passenger-rights regulations. Please treat this as a formal complaint and provide a clear explanation for the delays, together with details of the refundand compensation available to me. I look forward to your prompt response. My flight EJU6858 (Prague PRG to Porto OPO) on 8 August 2026 was cancelled on the day of departure. easyJet initially rejected my EC261 compensation claim, stating the cancellation was due to air traffic control restrictions (extraordinary circumstances). However, I believe easyJet failed to take all reasonable measures to avoid the cancellation and did not offer me a suitable alternative flight within 24 hours. Their Disruption Portal showed no available flights from 9–15 August, despite the public easyJet website showing availability for 15 August (screenshots available). I was forced to book a new easyJet flight myself for 15 August (booking KD545MJ). When I contacted easyJet via chat, agent Mohammad confirmed that I could have booked with another airline within 24 hours and claimed expenses, but the airport staff (Menzies Aviation) had incorrectly told me I must book only easyJet to get hotel reimbursement. Mohammad did not warn me that waiting 7 days would leave me to cover all my own expenses. I incurred 7 days of additional accommodation and meal expenses. easyJet later partially reimbursed me only €53.52, equivalent to one night, and rejected my EC261 compensation claim. I have all supporting documents: original booking confirmation (KD3SF59), new booking confirmation (KD545MJ), chat transcript, receipts, and screenshots showing the portal failure. I am seeking the €400 EC261 compensation for this cancellation.

I scanned my boarding pass sent to me by easyjet, but the luggage tag had flight number EZY8107 and the name Derek Barrett on it which unknowingly i attached to my luggage, it did not go through so an airline lady came over and manually put my case through without checking everything was correct, so when I arrived in Alicante my case was not on the right flight, I didn't spend a lot but only went for 3 nights, so had no clothes or toiletries, but it ruined my trip completely and I washed pants and shorts, and only brought a couple of shirts, a towel and toiletries, because I guessed I wouldn't get money back and didnt know when or if my case would be returned in time, as it was I got it back Tues afternoon and came home weds morning, I feel I should be compensated for not just the money I spent on essentials, but for the whole experience of going away without anything I needed, no sliders, sunglasses swimming shorts a beach towel or any clothes, even my phone charger and sun tan lotion was in the case with my hat and sunglasses which i didnt replace, as you can imagine i am very disappointed to say the least, it ruined my short break away.

Technical problems

Easyjet claim that the airplane had no damage but the crew were pushed beyond their legal hours. This is untrue. We were told by the pilot that they attempted to take off but the plane did not have enough power to safely take off the ground and that engineering assistance was needed but nothing could be done that night to repair the plane and no alternative planes were available. Plane crew said they were on duty until late/ early hours of following morning so would have been able to facilitate an alternative flight. We did not arrive on our holiday until 24 hours later, loosing one whole day and that night stay at the hotel

Problems at airport

We were informed around 17:00 that the flight was cancelled on Friday 4 September. Easyjet only provide an email and via their system the best flight offered a flight on Sunday or Monday - 2 or 3 days later! So we found a hotel for the night, my wife and I shared the room, and we rebooked on Swiss air for the next day because we had to be back home to collect our dog from the kennel. We got home finally 24 hours later than expected thanks to Swiss. We asked for refund from Swiss flights, but when we submitted our flight claim we specifically asked they reimburse the flight minus the about they refunded. They rejected both our compensation claim which may or may not be legitmate no proof was provided, but they outright rejected our request for compensation for our hotel and for the flights. So we're hoping you can help us reclaim some portion of this almost 1000 euros we had to pay due to the cancellation.

Influence by other flights

Our flight was scheduled at 21:40, leaving from PMO to Naples. At 18:00 we were informed that the flight had been cancelled and to contact the ground staff to arrange alternative flights. There is no EasyJet desk at the airport in Palermo. The earliest I was offered an alternative flight was two days later. My flight was scheduled for August 17th, and I was offered an alternative flight for August 19th at 7:30am, which was not suitable since I had another booking for the following day from Naples. It was impossible to get through easyJet phone lines, and we decided to take a taxi back to the centre of Palermo and try to get a ticket for that night's boat from Palermo to Naples. I do not have the receipt for the taxi, but yes for the boat ticket. 150€ for myself and my daughter. I finally arrived in Naples on Tuesday, the 18th, at 10:00. Because of this cancellation, I lost my hotel reservation. Although I cancelled as soon as I was informed of the flight cancellation, I was not refunded because I notified the hotel on very short notice.

On 16 September 2026, I was due to fly with easyJet from London Luton to Sphinx, Egypt (flight U22647). I was refused travel at the airport because my passport had approximately five months remaining, and I was told that Egypt requires six months’ validity. I was not aware of this requirement and was not given any warning during the booking process, despite providing my passport details and expiry date. As a result, I had to return to London by Uber at a cost of approximately Β£70, obtain an emergency passport costing Β£239, and rearrange my travel plans. I had also already paid Β£228 for the original flight. This situation caused me significant financial loss and inconvenience.

Problems at airport

Our flight was cancelled many times from Catania, which was understandable due to the volcano. However, we were eventually placed in a hotel three hours away from Palermo airport and we had to fight to get a prepaid Uber that cost Β£700 to Palermo airport as they told us it was our responsibility to make our own way there. Although we were promised this Uber was pre-booked, we still had to wait from 04.30-5.45 to be accepted by a driver. Our flight was then from Palermo to Gatwick. EasyJet organised us an Uber to Luton with no further plans. Our original destination was Bristol, and neither Gatwick or Luton fly to Bristol. In my case (Sophia), I had to book a train to Bath Spa to get home and Bethany had to book a flight. Our original destination was Bristol and then Bethany was going to catch a flight later that day ( Monday 14th) to Belfast, she missed that flight and then had to organise a direct flight to Belfast from Gatwick which cost her more money. In total we had around 15 separate emails all with different flights, hotels and eventual cancellations which was extremely hard to understand. Overall, Bethany lost out on the money she paid for the flight to Belfast from Bristol and then had to pay for another flight from Gatwick to Belfast. I paid around Β£150 myself for food and transport. All in all, it was a very distressing experience as we were unsure of how we were getting home, even though we had a solidified flight to Gatwick. It was easyJet’s responsibility to get us back to our original destination but they failed. This meant taking time off work for Bethany and meant that I spent money that I am not guaranteed to get back. Not to mention the loss of time and extreme stress. We were also told there was nothing we could do about where we placed by an online representative over the phone and we spoke to multiple people over the online chat who told us that we had no option but to pay Β£700 for an Uber to Palermo. Of everyone we spoke to, only two representatives listened and came up with solutions which was a disgrace. Especially for two young 19 year old girls, it felt as if we were not being taken seriously. We had no way to the airport in Palermo and then when we finally managed to get transport it was one and 15 minutes later than promised.

They refunded my flight and gave me 220GBP compensation but that didn’t come close to what I had to spend to get to Switzerland on the day. I still missed all of my family engagements which were really important as they could not give me a flight on the same day and my Swiss air flight was then delayed by 3 hours and 20 minutes from a different airport. I missed an event which family members had spent a lot of money on and easyJet did nothing to help other than offer me a flight the next day from a completely different airport.

Flight was supposed to be 30 min late, this turned out to be later and later. The night before a few flights had to be rerouted from Bristol to London (not sure Heathrow or Gatwick) this means the plane was in the wrong place. In the morning there was supposed to be a team transferring the plane from London to Bristol but they did not have enough staff and we had to wait this long for staff to transfer the flight to Bristol and then fly to Nice and eventually from Nice to Bristol. Delay was due to staff shortage and not weather (very few planes were concerned anyway) Final arrival in Bristol was 3:30pm we had a voucher in Nice for I think Euro 6. Airline staff told me the story about the lack of staff, announcement on the plane just said it was due to the weather and not their fault. I lost a lot of time I would have liked to spend with my friends.

I arrived at Newcastle airport on the 6th September to find my case missing, no one was interested in helping me at all I was in tears, then I was given a form to fill in on line which I did I got a message saying they would be in touch. Two days later I got a message saying they had found my case and so the file was closed I would get a message saying when I was getting it. After 5 days I contacted them again to be told the same and to wait for them to get in touch with me. I got a message saying it would be delivered 12th September of course it wasn't. I got in touch with eagle aviation to see if they could help they said no. I got a message then saying my case would be delivered today 12th September, but it hasn't arrived after phoning DX they told me they tried to deliver it to the wrong house number 22 not number 25. Number 22 is empty and boarded up anyway. So now they said its at a depot they didn't know which one and Easy jet would have to alter the address before they would deliver it to me. So as of now I still do not have case, I don't know what happened to it or where it went let a long the condition of it. We were supposed to land in basel at 14:30, once we arrived in the basel airspace we were told we couldn't land due to an issue with another plane stuck on the runway so we got diverted to the strasbourg airport where i took a train back to basel and arrived in basel at 19:20

We have been at this airport since 11 o’clock. Our flight was due for 14:35, we sat in the cafe till 1:30 then waited in line to get our passports checked at 1:35. The queue was going so slow like really slow so we told them we will miss our flight if something doesn’t get done eg. The line doesn’t go faster .. we got ignored and treated like we was absolutely nothing, I have two sons and a baby, my two sons have adhd and one has adhd with sensory. I made this known and they did not care, she then carried on to tell me my son was β€œa problem” because he was so upset and over whelmed and so run down. I had people starring and commenting on his behaviour bear in mind he has a disability and the member of staff did not care she was tutting at me making us all feel so low. I carried on to tell her our flight is gonna go if we don’t get through and she ignored me again, we kept trying to explain and no one cared. Eventually we got through at 14:27 and our plane was gone, bare in mind our flight was scheduled for 14:35 , they said you will have to buy another plane ticket we explained it’s not our fault and we had to wait in the queue and they didn’t care they had us going everywhere sending up to the bottom floor then the top then everywhere else then told us nothing we can do buy another ticket. We tried to ask for the manager and he just laughed and struggled his shoulders. They didn’t care at all and I’m furious they could see my children was so so upset and over whelmed by this, I had bags and suits cases two children with additional needs and a baby to carry plus a pram. I was going to pass out and not a ounce of care of respect from any of them. Firstly there was no need to be ignored and treated like we was invisible all because my additional need child was so unsettled and two they could of helped us in many ways but chose not to. We couldn’t even afford the tickets we had to scrape it together through two banks just to pay for our tickets. We even got told once we bought the tickets they was assist us to make it fast but they didn’t, they spoke in french and then proceeded to leave us stood there, they separated us to so I had two children a baby bags and a pram struggling. This was out of order in so many ways and this was there fault not ours and we had to pay for there mistake. I want to fully claim this money back my children also missed school because of this and I got in a lot of trouble

Like the rest of my explanations.. this is my other son who has ADHD and sensory issue. He was screaming over whelmed and so uncomfortable being in this Que not to mention witnessing how rude the staff were and how little they helped us, he got searched over and over his shoes everywhere and he was so uncomfortable but it’s normal I get it, but they was so rude and treated my son with no dignity, separating me from him then letting us go in the Que for the passports to be checked and they was so slow we missed our flight we told them numerous of times we are gonna miss the flight the Que was that big and then the women did not care she carried on to tell me my son was β€œa problem” because he was so upset and over whelmed by the people and noise and the slow Que having to stand. They made us feel so small, and what a surprise we missed our flight .. and when we explained it wasn’t our fault they didn’t care at all they basically told us to go through step 1 all again security passports etc and buy a new ticket when we got told we would be accompanied so we didn’t miss the second flight no one helped us we was stranded running up and down trying to get there in time, it’s honestly not ok my poor children was so uncomfortable with the response and attitude from these staff members that are supposed to be there to help us. It’s not ok, oh and the plane left at 14:20 because when he finally got through at 14:27 it was already gone and they said it wasn’t there problem despite us being stuck in the long queue! We flew at 14:35 and was sat in the airport waiting since 11 o’clock!! It’s so so wrong not to mention we had to use two bank accounts because we didn’t even have the money to buy new flight tickets but we scraped it together

Awful. Start to finish, this is for my son Maximus who has adhd, I’m sure you can read the rest of the complaints I have filed from this situation that was not our fault. I’m mentally drained with it all. Such bad service and no respect or help whatsoever for my poor children who was clearly suffering. Missing this flight was not our fault. They was so slow checking passports despite us telling them we was going to miss our flight

I sent the EC261 form to Easyjet and they sent me the attached answer. The flight was cancelled ans did not provide any alternative flight that day or other, so I have to buy a new one by myself to fly 4 days later with the same company. I lost 4 working days, I have to pay an overusage airport parking of Β£175 when arrived to Bristol, in addition to the distress of my younger daugthers. And they said that it is not their fault. So sorry but it is not mine.

EasyJet instructed us to submit claim online, requiring to choose either a refund for the cancelled ticket or an alternative flight offered by Easyjet. EJ. didn’t have alternative flights the same day nor next day. Easyjet refundef only Β£113.45 for cancelled flight. Our alternative flight to Sardegna and transport to reach the outbound airport costed us Β£735. We also lost 1 night of hotel accommodation in Olbia and 1 night in Alghero, as we arrived in Sardegna on 29th August instead of 27th August. Lost time, lost money and very stressful trip overall.
