I arrived at the luggage counter. I had 12 liters of wine (containing 12 %) alcohol. 3 different employees refused to let me travel, as they claimed that EasyJet allows only 5 liter. This is true if alcohol percentage is above 24% and max 70%. They claimed it was flammable. I asked them for their names , but they refused to give. At the end they asked me to leave. I spend 30 minutes on trying to make them understand their own rules. Nothing helped. I was forced to buy a new ticket at another airline- Milano-Tbilisi

Awful from start to finish We was waiting so long in the passport line so they could check our passports we missed our flight when we approached them at Paris airport they didnβt care and told us to go back to the line and thereβs nothing they could do, then when we finally got through they said itβs not there fault and we have to buy a new flight ticket. Both children Maximus and Adonis flying have adhd, and we had a very poorly 1 year old. This was awful start to finish and they treated us like crap, even told us the adhd middle child was a βproblemβ because he was crying and over whelmed- Paris-Manchester

Influence by other flights
I called them and they said to submit online form, I completed the form and they said review would take up to 28 days. I didn't get an email or text confirming and I didn't screenshot the page. The flight was delayed for over 2 hours due to a technical issue and nobody from easyJet at the airport would help me. Even though I left adequate time to make the transfer, I was forced to miss the flight- Tbilisi-Bristol

We were with our elderly Grandad who required special assistance which made our travel very stressful. EasyJet has not provided us with a refund for the cancelled flight neither have they acknowledged it. The only communication they have provided is around the refund for the Taxi cost to the airport.- London-Alicante

Problems at airport
The airline emailed at 22:30 to advise us our flight had been delayed until the next day. The airline provided an email for us to click on a list of hotels for the night. Nowhere could accommodate 10 people so seen as two of our party were on a different booking we tried to find a hotel for those two. Their hotel was inadequate and the bed was full of bed bugs and hair. The doors did not lock. They arrived at their destination at 12:45am. The other 8 of our party had no accommodation offer from the airline. We had to source our own hotel and pay out of our own pocket. This was hugely inconvenient as been had been sat in the airport for 7 hours, left there as the airport staff were not interested because the airport closed at midnight. We lost money as we had to pay for 6 extra taxis, a hotel for 8 people and food.- Arrecife-Glasgow

I bought ticket from Ankara to Antalya and Antalya to Birmingham. As you see the ticket they gave me confirmation. When I came to Antalya at easyjet to get boarding pass they said sorry we don't have have any place. I said: I paid for this ticket Β£552.49 and you gave me confirmation so why you didn't tell me when I was in Ankara because there was flights to London and I have to work tomorrow. Our flight was due to bored at 14:35 We was in the line waiting for 1:40 when we finally got through after checking passports they said our flight had gone and thereβs nothing they could do it about it. I have two adhd children, one with sensory to who one of the member of staff said he was a βproblemβ because he was so over whelmed and over stimulated from standing and being there for far to long and they still did absolutely nothing to help me at all. They was so rude and made us go all the way to the beginning again and pay for new tickets. This was a massive stress on my mental health not to mention carrying a baby whilst calming a adhd sensory child down and my other adhd child this was the worse day of my life.. not to mention the amount of money we had to pay on the new tickets which was paid on two cards as we didnβt have enough money. Waiting in that line was not our fault they was going so slow checking passports and we said over and over we was going to miss our flight and asked for help and not one of them cared or helped us. When we eventually got through it was 14:30 and the flight was gone so it went early and also it was not our fault the plane was gone this is so so bad, we have been in the airport waiting since 11 oβclock we did absolutely nothing wrong and the mental state my children was in because of this was absolutely disgusting especially for my adhd child to be called a βproblemβ because he was so over stimulated and upset by this issue that was completely out of our hands- Paris-Manchester

Problems at airport
In the beginning, the flight was simply delayed couple hours. Then it was cancelled. easyJet offered a flight the next day with hotel, which we accepted. In the end, we arrived in Lisbon on Friday evening around 8pm as opposed to arriving around 7pm the day before. At the airport, there was nobody to be found to talk to, so we had to ask around other stuff cause nobody was present from easyJet. We had to miss one day of work and as a result take unpaid leave because we didn't have any work devices with us at that time and we expected to be in Lisbon on Thursday and not Friday evening.- Barcelona-Lisbon

I'm writing in relationship to flight EZY6658, booking ref KCKBQNZ. Despite booking and paying for my flight 5 months ago, I was made away upon arriving at the airport that I had no seat on the flight. I was advised that because EasyJet sell more tickets than seats, I'd just have to standby and see if some people didn't turn up. I was not made aware of this at any point during the booking and paying for my ticket and find this disgraceful. I paid a lot for my flight and expect to be guaranteed a seat. This is basic service and if not possible, such needs to be communicated explicitly so that customers can decide accordingly. The amount of stress this has put me through warrants compensation. Furthermore, my outbound flight allowed for 2 carry on bags. It was confusing that the allowance changed for my return flight, meaning I was charged 70β¬ for my second bag at the airport. Given the lack of confirmation of check-in when I did this online before my flight, together with the info upon arrival at the airport that I may not get a seat, it wasn't clear that I should purchase luggage. I.e. for a flight that wasn't even confirmed for me. I ask for a full refund of the luggage payment, together with further compensation, for the stress, confusion and poor customer service encountered. Thank you.- Nice-Birmingham

Arrived at Heraklion airport on 27th Aug 2026, checked bags in, moved on to departure lounge. Waiting to board then notified flight EZY8218 had been cancelled, no reason given. Then taken to Hotel Marina Beach Crete by easyJet. Then given an alternative flight on to depart on 1st September 2026 to Edinburgh at 22.45 flight number EZY3224, then a connecting flight to Gatwick on 2nd September at 6.00. We informed easyJet these alternatives were not acceptable as I had a very important hospital appointment booked for the 1st September. We found an alternative easyJet flight departing from Chaina airport flight number EZY8222. Having tried to get through to easyJet helpline and being on hold for over 2 hours, we went ahead and booked the flights and paid for them. Subiect Formal Complaint β Unfair and Discriminatory Treatment During Boarding Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the way my family and I were treated today while travelling from Tenerife to London Luton. The boarding gates opened at approximately 11:30 and were due to close at 11:45. During this entire period, my family and I were present at the gate with all our documents ready. We had our passports, proof of settled status, boarding passes, and our hand luggage, which was within the permitted weight limit. However, the staff at the gate treated us in a very rude and disrespectful manner. They repeatedly asked us for additional documents or online information, but they did not clearly explain what exactly they needed from us or what was missing. Our documents were taken and we were left waiting while the staff appeared to be checking something else. From what we could understand, they were looking for information regarding when our settled status had been obtained or registered online. I politely asked several times what specific document or information they required so that I could provide it immediately, but my questions were not properly answered. Instead, we were repeatedly told that there were only a few minutes left before the gate would close. This situation was extremely stressful, especially because we were travelling with our 5-year-old child. We were made to feel as though we were responsible for the delay, despite being at the gate on time and having our travel documents ready. Fortunately, we were eventually allowed through at the very last minute, just before the aircraft doors were closed. However, the staff at the entrance continued to treat us in a rude and disrespectful manner. I understand that airline and airport staff have to carry out document checks and follow security and immigration procedures. However, passengers should be treated with respect and should be clearly informed about what is required, particularly when they are cooperating and asking for clarification. I felt that my family and I were treated differently and unfairly, and I would like this incident to be investigated. I would also like to know why additional checks were required, what information the staff were looking for, and why they failed to clearly communicate this to us. Please investigate this matter and provide me with a written response explaining what happened and what action will be taken to prevent other passengers, particularly families travelling with young children, from being treated in this way. I can provide the flight details, booking reference and any other information required to identify the staff and the incident. I look forward to receiving your response. Kind regards, Ionut Dinu

We arrived at our final destination around 8.20PM on the 4th August, the next day The airline continually delayed the flight until we were informed it was cancelled at around 6.45pm on 3rd August It meant myself and the other passenger missed out on a scheduled workday the next day, inconveniencing us through lost money and our workplaces through needing to find last minute replacements.- Glasgow-Amsterdam

I have put my reimbursement claim in separately. They knew this flight could not leave Berlin before it left Manchester due to Berlin airspace closing: they left us in a closed airport for hours with no information. The people at the desk had no information and just kept telling us to sit down. No offer of refreshments, only option was 1 working vending machine with little in. They should not be allowed to schedule flights so close to the airspace closing time. I will go to the press with this if my claim is refused as their attitude throughout was awful. I rearranged through the portal to Munich flight the next day; this was then delayed 2 and 1/2 hours and I also went to claim for that day. You cannot say exceptional circumstances when the same identical situation happens 2 days on a trot. It is easyJet taking known risks and wasting peoples lives in between, this is a breach of consumer rights if nothing else. I was travelling alone after 2 days away, I had no clean clothes. I had to buy a change of things but I wonβt be reimbursed for that, so compensation is only fair. My total delay was 25 hours from when I should have got home.- Schonefeld-Manchester

FORMAL COMPLAINT AND DEMAND FOR FULL REFUND Flight EZY213 β Bristol (BRS) to Edinburgh (EDI) Scheduled departure: 7:10 a.m., 26 August 2026 Passenger: Tochi Ekwuogo Dear Sir/Madam, RE: FLIGHT EZY213 β BRISTOL TO EDINBURGH β 26 AUGUST 2026 FORMAL COMPLAINT REGARDING FAILED ONLINE CHECK-IN, AIRPORT CHECK-IN, DENIAL OF ACCESS TO SECURITY/BOARDING AND DEMAND FOR FULL REFUND I write to lodge a formal complaint concerning my treatment at Bristol Airport this morning in connection with my confirmed booking on easyJet Flight EZY213 from Bristol to Edinburgh, scheduled to depart at 7:10 a.m. on 26 August 2026, and to demand reimbursement of the full fare paid for the flight. The circumstances leading to my inability to travel were not a voluntary decision on my part to miss the flight. Rather, I was physically present at the airport, had been checked in by your staff and had been issued a boarding pass, but was subsequently prevented from proceeding through security and consequently from boarding the aircraft. For clarity, the relevant chronology is as follows: 1. Failed online check-in I attempted to complete my online check-in from approximately 5:00 a.m. on the morning of the flight. Despite repeated attempts, the online check-in process would not complete and I was unable to generate my mobile boarding pass. The attached screenshot from the easyJet application expressly records: βMobile boarding passes cannot be generated for this flight.β The same screen, however, expressly records me as: βPassengers checked-in β Tochi Ekwuogo.β I therefore made every reasonable effort to complete the required check-in process before travelling to the airport. 2. Arrival at Bristol Airport Having been unable to complete the online process successfully, I proceeded to Bristol Airport. My Uber trip record, which I attach as evidence, records my arrival at the Main Terminal, Bristol Airport (BRS) at approximately 6:19 a.m. The scheduled departure time was 7:10 a.m., meaning that I was physically at the airport approximately 51 minutes before the scheduled departure time. 3. I was actually checked in and issued a boarding pass Upon reaching the relevant check-in desk, I explained the problem with the online check-in and was attended to by your airport staff. At approximately 6:24 a.m., your staff checked me in and issued my boarding pass. This is an important fact. I was not merely standing at the airport without a valid booking or without having checked in. Your own staff processed my check-in and issued me a boarding pass for Flight EZY213. The attached boarding-pass screenshot confirms the flight details, including: * Flight: EZY213 * Route: Bristol (BRS) β Edinburgh (EDI) * Date: 26 August 2026 * Scheduled departure: 7:10 a.m. * Passenger: Tochi Ekwuogo 4. I was subsequently prevented from proceeding through security After receiving my boarding pass, I immediately proceeded towards security. At approximately 6:30 a.m., I was stopped at the security access point and told that the gate had closed. I immediately pointed out that the scheduled departure time was 7:10 a.m. and that, according to the information provided by easyJet, the boarding gate closes 30 minutes before departure, i.e. at approximately 6:40 a.m. I was therefore still approximately 10 minutes before the published gate-closing time. Instead of being permitted to proceed, I was directed back to the airline to resolve the matter. This distinction is important: I was not standing at the boarding gate after it had closed. I was stopped from proceeding through the security access point approximately 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time. 5. Complaint to your staff at approximately 6:33 a.m. At approximately 6:33 a.m., I approached the easyJet desk and spoke with a member of staff identified to me as Kiley, at Desk 10. I explained to her that I had already been checked in and had been issued a boarding pass. Her response was particularly concerning. I was told, in substance, that the colleague who had issued my boarding pass βought not to have issuedβ it in the first place. If that is indeed easyJetβs position, it raises a serious question as to why I was permitted to complete the airport check-in process and why your staff issued me a boarding pass only minutes before I was subsequently prevented from proceeding. I cannot reasonably be expected to bear the financial consequences of an error or inconsistency in the airlineβs own airport procedures. 6. easyJetβs published information I have reviewed easyJetβs published information concerning airport procedures and boarding. easyJetβs published information states that the boarding gate closes 30 minutes before scheduled departure. I had a scheduled departure time of 7:10 a.m., meaning that the stated gate-closing time was approximately 6:40 a.m. I had already obtained my boarding pass at approximately 6:24 a.m. and was attempting to proceed through security at approximately 6:30 a.m. I therefore respectfully ask easyJet to explain the basis upon which I was prevented from proceeding through security at that time. Furthermore, your own terms and conditions acknowledge that passengers may experience technical difficulties with online check-in and direct such passengers to seek assistance from ground crew at the airport. I did precisely that and your ground staff subsequently checked me in and issued my boarding pass. 7. I was not a voluntary βno-showβ I strongly object to this matter being treated simply as a passenger who failed to turn up for the flight. I: 1. held a confirmed booking; 2. attempted to check in online; 3. experienced a failure with the online check-in process; 4. travelled to Bristol Airport; 5. arrived at the terminal at approximately 6:19 a.m.; 6. presented myself to easyJet/airport staff; 7. was checked in by your staff; 8. was issued a boarding pass; 9. proceeded towards security; 10. was stopped from proceeding at approximately 6:30 a.m.; and 11. immediately sought assistance from easyJet staff. The evidence therefore demonstrates a continuous attempt on my part to travel on the booked flight. 8. Request for investigation and refund In the circumstances, I demand a full refund of the total fare paid for the affected flight, including any applicable ancillary charges paid in connection with the booking. I also request that easyJet conduct a proper investigation into the circumstances and specifically establish: * the precise time at which my booking was checked in; * the precise time at which my boarding pass was issued; * the reason your staff issued me a boarding pass if, as subsequently stated by Kiley, they were not supposed to do so; * the reason I was prevented from proceeding through security at approximately 6:30 a.m.; * whether the security restriction was imposed by Bristol Airport or at the request/direction of easyJet; * the actual time at which easyJet closed boarding for EZY213; * whether the aircraft had in fact closed boarding at the time I was stopped; * whether any record, incident report or staff note was made concerning my interaction with your personnel; and * the reason the online check-in process failed despite my attempts at approximately 5:00 a.m. I further request that you preserve and review all relevant electronic records, check-in logs, boarding-pass issuance records, staff records and, where available, CCTV or other records relating to my movements and interaction with your staff between approximately 6:19 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. 9. UK261 rights I also ask easyJet to treat this correspondence as a formal claim arising from the refusal to allow me to travel on my confirmed booking. If easyJet maintains that I was not entitled to board, please provide the precise contractual and/or statutory basis upon which that position is being taken and explain why, having presented myself at the airport, completed check-in with your staff and been issued a boarding pass, I was prevented from proceeding. I expressly reserve my rights under the Air Passenger Rights and Air Travel Organisersβ Licensing (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 / UK Regulation 261/2004, including any entitlement to compensation, reimbursement, rerouting and/or other statutory remedies arising from the circumstances. If easyJet considers that UK261 does not apply to my circumstances, please provide a detailed explanation of the factual and legal basis for that conclusion rather than simply categorising the matter as a missed flight. 10. Resolution sought In view of the foregoing, I require: (a) a full refund of the total amount paid for Flight EZY213 and all associated flight extras; (b) confirmation that the booking will not be treated as a voluntary passenger no-show; (c) a written explanation of why I was checked in and issued a boarding pass but subsequently prevented from proceeding through security; (d) confirmation of the actual time at which boarding/gate closure was recorded for Flight EZY213; (e) copies or details of the relevant records showing my check-in and boarding-pass issuance; and (f) consideration and payment of any compensation to which I am legally entitled under UK261 arising from the circumstances. I have attached the relevant evidence, including: 1. the easyJet boarding-pass/check-in screenshot; 2. the Uber trip record showing my arrival at Bristol Airport at approximately 6:19 a.m.; 3. the flight details showing Flight EZY213, Bristol to Edinburgh, scheduled for 7:10 a.m.; and 4. any further evidence available to me concerning my attempted online check-in and my interaction with your airport staff. I expect this complaint to be investigated properly and not dismissed merely as a failure to arrive at the airport. For the avoidance of doubt, I was present at Bristol Airport, had a confirmed reservation, had attempted to check in online, had been checked in by your staff and had been issued a boarding pass before I was prevented from proceeding to the departure area. I therefore expect easyJet to take responsibility for the circumstances that resulted in my being unable to travel and to refund the full fare paid. Please provide your substantive written response and confirmation of the refund within 14 days of receipt of this complaint. Should this matter not be satisfactorily resolved, I reserve the right to escalate the complaint through the appropriate alternative dispute resolution process and/or to the UK Civil Aviation Authority and pursue any other remedies available to me. Yours faithfully, TOCHI EKWUOGO

Strike
My easyJet flight EJU1698 from Venice Marco Polo (VCE) to Nice (NCE), scheduled for 14 August 2026 at 23:00, was cancelled. Due to the cancellation, I was forced to arrange alternative transportation myself in order to reach my destination. Instead of arriving in Nice at 00:20 on 15 August as originally scheduled, I arrived in Nice at approximately 15:00 on 15 August, around 15 hours later than planned. As a result, I had to personally cover the following expenses: * β¬12.00 for transportation from Venice Marco Polo Airport to Venice Mestre; * β¬145.97 for a FlixBus ticket from Venice to Nice; * β¬77.84 for a hostel in Nice, which I had already booked and paid for for the night of 14β15 August. Because of the flight cancellation and my late arrival in Nice, I was unable to use the accommodation. The total amount of expenses I incurred as a direct result of the flight cancellation is therefore β¬235.81. The airline did not provide me with an alternative solution that would allow me to reach Nice as originally planned. I therefore had to organize and pay for alternative transportation myself. The cancellation also caused me to lose the money I had already paid for my accommodation. I am therefore requesting reimbursement of the expenses incurred as a result of the flight cancellation, totaling β¬235.81, as well as any additional compensation or rights to which I may be entitled under the applicable regulations.- Venice-Nice

Formal Claim β Cancellation of Flight Basel to Madeira on 15 August 2026 Original flight: Basel (BSL) β Madeira (FNC) Date: 15 August 2026 Airline: easyJet Booking reference: KCR9DVR Flight number: 1283 Dear easyJet Customer Service, I am writing to formally submit a claim concerning the cancellation of my easyJet flight from Basel to Madeira on 15 August 2026, and to request reimbursement of the reasonable and necessary expenses I incurred as a direct consequence of the cancellation and the lack of an adequate alternative to reach my final destination. Events at Basel Airport My original flight from Basel to Madeira was scheduled for approximately 14:00 on Saturday, 15 August 2026. I arrived at Basel Airport normally, passed through the gate and boarded the aircraft together with the other passengers. Once everyone was on board, however, we were informed that the aircraft had lost its departure time slot and that we would have to wait before being allowed to leave. Initially, we were told that the situation might be resolved shortly and that we would receive another departure slot. We were repeatedly told to wait another 20 minutes or so because the crew did not know how long the delay would last. The waiting continued for approximately one hour. After around one hour, we were informed that we might have to wait for another hour. We therefore remained inside the aircraft, unable to leave Basel Airport, with no clear information about when or whether the flight would actually depart. Eventually, after approximately two hours had passed beyond the scheduled departure time, we were still sitting inside the aircraft. At this stage, the captain explained that there were apparently air-traffic restrictions in France affecting our departure route. However, this explanation was extremely unclear and difficult to understand, particularly because other aircraft were continuing to depart from Basel Airport during this period, including other easyJet and other airline flights. After approximately three hours of being kept on board without departing, we were eventually told that the aircraft would return to the terminal and that the flight would probably be cancelled. We were told that we would then have to deal with the situation through the easyJet application because there was no easyJet service desk at Basel Airport where passengers could speak directly to someone about the cancellation. This was already an extremely stressful situation after having spent approximately three hours inside an aircraft without being able to leave. However, after the aircraft returned towards the terminal, we were unexpectedly told by the captain that we should remain seated because Swissport representatives would come to speak to us and that there might still be a solution. Everyone therefore remained on board and waited again. We waited for approximately another 30β40 minutes while discussions took place between the crew and Swissport. Only after this additional period of waiting were we finally informed that the flight was definitely cancelled and that we would have to arrange alternative travel. 2. Lack of food and basic assistance during the approximately three-hour wait One particularly concerning aspect of the situation was the fact that passengers were kept inside the aircraft for approximately three hours without departing and without being provided with food. During this time, I personally asked for something to eat because I was extremely hungry. I was repeatedly told that food could not be served while the aircraft was on the ground. I understand that there may be operational or safety rules concerning the service of food while an aircraft is waiting on the ground. However, I find it completely unacceptable that passengers were kept inside an aircraft for approximately three hours, with no clear information about when they would be allowed to leave, while also not being provided with any meaningful assistance. By the time we were finally allowed to leave the aircraft, I was extremely hungry and physically exhausted from the prolonged wait. I felt close to fainting because I had not been able to eat properly during this entire period. This was particularly unreasonable given that the delay had already reached several hours and passengers were being kept in an aircraft without a clear departure time. I subsequently had to purchase food at Basel Airport myself. I am therefore also requesting reimbursement for this necessary food expense, for which I have retained the receipt. 3. Cancellation and lack of a reasonable alternative Following the cancellation, the biggest problem was that there was effectively no reasonable alternative offered to passengers wishing to reach Madeira. The BaselβMadeira flight was extremely full, and the next available easyJet flight to Madeira was several days later. As far as I could establish at the time, easyJet did not open an additional flight from Basel to Madeira on the following day to accommodate the passengers affected by the cancellation. The next available flight was therefore several days later and was quickly sold out. This meant that the practical alternative offered to me would have required me to wait approximately four days, or potentially even longer depending on availability, before reaching my final destination. This was not a realistic option for me. I had work and personal commitments in Madeira and could not simply remain in Basel for several additional days because of the cancellation. I therefore had to find my own alternative route to reach my final destination. 4. Alternative route I had to arrange myself Because easyJet did not provide me with a reasonable alternative allowing me to reach Madeira at the earliest opportunity, I changed my travel arrangements from BaselβMadeira to BaselβLisbon. I then had to independently arrange and pay for a separate LisbonβMadeira flight in order to finally reach the destination for which I had originally purchased my BaselβMadeira ticket. The fact that I changed the BaselβMadeira booking to BaselβLisbon should not be interpreted as voluntarily abandoning my journey to Madeira. Madeira was always my final destination. I made this change solely because the cancelled flight and the alternatives available through easyJet did not provide me with a practical way of reaching Madeira within a reasonable timeframe. The BaselβLisbon flight therefore represented only the first part of the alternative journey I had to organise myself. I still needed to travel from Lisbon to Madeira, which was the final destination of my original booking. The LisbonβMadeira flight was therefore an unavoidable and necessary expense resulting directly from the cancellation and the lack of an adequate alternative offered by easyJet. I am consequently requesting reimbursement of the full cost of the LisbonβMadeira ticket that I had to purchase myself. 5. Additional expenses caused by the cancellation Because I had to arrange this alternative journey myself, I also incurred additional necessary expenses. These include: * The replacement LisbonβMadeira flight, which I had to purchase myself. * Food at Basel Airport, because no adequate food or refreshments were provided during the prolonged disruption. * Uber transportation from Lisbon Airport to my friendβs accommodation, after arriving in Lisbon late at night. * Uber transportation from my friendβs accommodation back to Lisbon Airport the following day in order to take the flight to Madeira. I was fortunate enough to have a friend in Lisbon who could accommodate me overnight. Had this not been the case, I would also have been forced to pay for hotel accommodation myself. I am therefore deliberately only claiming the expenses that I actually incurred and for which I have receipts or supporting documentation. All relevant receipts and booking confirmations are attached. 6. Inconsistent explanations regarding the reason for the cancellation I would also like to formally request clarification regarding the actual reason for the cancellation. During the approximately three hours we spent inside the aircraft at Basel Airport, the explanation given to passengers was repeatedly that the aircraft could not depart because of air-traffic restrictions in France and that we had lost our departure slot. However, when the cancellation was eventually processed, the reason presented to passengers was apparently bad weather. These explanations are materially different. Furthermore, during the period in question, I observed other aircraft departing from Basel Airport, including flights operated by easyJet and other airlines. I also observed aircraft operating routes in the direction of Madeira. I understand that weather and air-traffic conditions can affect individual flights differently and that the fact that other aircraft operated does not, by itself, prove that our flight could have operated. Nevertheless, given the conflicting explanations provided to passengers, I request that easyJet clearly explain: 1. The precise reason why my flight was cancelled. 2. Whether the cancellation was caused by weather conditions, air-traffic-control restrictions, or another operational reason. 3. What specific restriction prevented this particular flight from operating. 4. Why other flights were able to depart from Basel Airport during the same period. 5. Whether the cancellation qualifies as an extraordinary circumstance under EU261 and, if so, what specific evidence easyJet relies upon to establish this. I do not believe it is sufficient simply to state βbad weatherβ after passengers were initially told for several hours that the problem was air traffic in France. 7. Lack of adequate communication and assistance Throughout this entire process, communication with passengers was extremely unclear. For approximately three hours we were kept inside the aircraft while repeatedly being told that we had to wait for another departure slot, without being given a clear indication of whether the flight would actually depart. We were then told that the flight would be cancelled and that we would have to deal with the situation through the app. After the aircraft returned to the terminal, we were then told to wait again because Swissport might have a solution. Only after another 30β40 minutes were we finally informed that the flight was definitely cancelled. At no stage was I provided with an effective and practical solution that allowed me to reach my final destination, Madeira, at the earliest reasonable opportunity. I therefore had no realistic choice but to organise an alternative route myself. This situation was particularly difficult because there was no easyJet desk at Basel Airport where passengers could speak directly to an easyJet representative and obtain immediate assistance. 8. Reimbursement requested As a direct consequence of the cancellation and the lack of adequate re-routing assistance, I am requesting reimbursement of the following reasonable and necessary expenses: 1. Lisbon β Madeira replacement flight: β¬242,98 2. Food purchased at Basel Airport: β¬ 21,49 3. Uber β Lisbon Airport β accommodation: β¬ 9,44 4. Uber β accommodation β Lisbon Airport: β¬ 7,90 Total expenses claimed: β¬ 281,81 I am attaching the corresponding receipts, booking confirmations and screenshots as evidence. In addition to the reimbursement of these expenses, I request that easyJet assess my entitlement to compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 based on the actual cause of the cancellation and the circumstances of the disruption. I understand that compensation may not be payable where a cancellation was genuinely caused by extraordinary circumstances outside the airlineβs control. However, given the conflicting explanations provided to passengers, I request that easyJet establish the precise cause of the cancellation rather than simply relying on a generic reference to weather or air-traffic restrictions. 9. Final request I would like to emphasise that I did not voluntarily choose to travel via Lisbon. I had originally purchased a direct BaselβMadeira flight because Madeira was my final destination. The alternative route via Lisbon became necessary only because my original flight was cancelled and I was not provided with a reasonable alternative that would allow me to reach Madeira within an acceptable timeframe. I also did not voluntarily choose to purchase additional flights, food or transportation. These expenses arose because of the disruption and because I had to make my own arrangements after no adequate solution was provided. I therefore respectfully request: * Full reimbursement of the LisbonβMadeira flight I had to purchase myself. * Reimbursement of the necessary food expense incurred during the disruption. * Reimbursement of the Uber transportation expenses incurred as a direct consequence of the alternative journey. * Assessment and payment of any compensation to which I am entitled under EU261/2004. * A clear written explanation of the precise cause of the cancellation. * Clarification of why passengers were initially told that the problem was air-traffic restrictions in France and subsequently informed that the cancellation was due to weather. * Confirmation of why no reasonable alternative was provided to allow affected passengers to reach Madeira at the earliest opportunity. I have retained all relevant documentation, including the original booking, cancellation information, alternative flight bookings, screenshots, receipts and transportation records, and I am submitting these documents together with this claim. I expect easyJet to review the circumstances of this cancellation in full and reimburse the reasonable costs that I was forced to incur as a direct result of the disruption. I look forward to receiving a detailed response and reimbursement of the eligible expenses. The flight was more than 3 hours delayed. It took after 7:45pm. There was over 4 airplanes that were still waiting to take off before we did. Whilst it was moving during the runway - it did not take off from the runway until after 7:45pm.- Milano-London

We received a notification through the easyJet app advising us to go to the airport at our original check-in time and informing us that we should expect approximately a one-hour delay. However, we ended up waiting around seven hours at the airport before finally departing for Lyon instead of Basel. Our train tickets from Basel were scheduled for 7:50 AM, and the coaches provided by easyJet were expected to arrive in Basel at around 9:30 AM. As a result of the significant delay and change of destination, we missed our planned train and our hotel booking in Basel. The situation was extremely stressful and, after hearing about the further delays and the long journey to Basel, I became unwell and was not in a condition to continue travelling. Because of this, I was unable to travel to Basel and we had no choice but to arrange alternative accommodation in Lyon. This caused us significant inconvenience, additional expenses, and the loss of our original travel and accommodation arrangements.- Larnaca-Mulhouse

We was not informed till late about the delay. The communication was very poor. We was told to arrive as normal although we were delayed by hours. We were sent boarding gate details which we wrong and updated hours later. We arrived for bag check in at 4:15pm as advised then didnβt begin boarding til 21:10pm. When on the plane we were told by the pilot that βthere were delays due to it being summer months and the sky routes being busyβ although told prior it was due to weather. Communication overall was extremely poor. We arrived at approximately 3.10am the following day once actually getting off the plane. We had to pay for food and drinks in the airport due to being in there for so long.- Tenerife-Manchester

Problems at airport
There was no communication to ourselves until late at night about our flight cancellation. We were 10 of a party and were not assisted with accommodation. No rep to talk to and no online support. We had to get a hotel for 8 of us. The hotel the other 2 people were given was not adequate or hygienic. We had two bookings so those two passengers got a hotel. No where was available for 8 people. We got a β¬9 voucher for 10 people which also was not adequate. We then had to pay the hotel we had come from another nights stay for 8 people. We had extra transfers to make back to the hotel and back to the airport the following day plus food/drink. We finally flew 18 hours later which impacted on my work the following day. We had one email from easyJet apologising for the delay in our flight. Another passenger told us it was cancelled before we received this email.- Arrecife-Glasgow
