The original flight from Tel Aviv was delayed by approximately 13 hours. We were informed about the delay around 12 hours before departure. As a result, Iberia re-routed us via London on a British Airways flight that departed at the original scheduled time of our Iberia flight. However, we had to wait about 10 hours in London for the connecting flight. We arrived at our final destination in Brazil approximately 12 hours later than originally scheduled. Because of the delay, we also missed our domestic connection within Brazil and had to purchase a new flight, as well as an additional hotel night in a city we were not supposed to stay in. Iberia initially stated the delay was due to boarding issues, and later claimed it was caused by political instability affecting the airspace. However, other flights departed from Tel Aviv around the same time, and we ourselves departed on schedule on the alternative routing. We are claiming compensation under EC261 (600 EUR per passenger) for long delay, as well as reimbursement of additional expenses incurred (new domestic flight and extra hotel night). All documentation, including booking confirmation, delay notification, correspondence with Iberia, and receipts for additional expenses, can be provided upon request.- Tel-aviv-Sao Paulo

Once the flight was cancelled, Iberia Airlines was unable to provide any sort of hotel accommodation for us. The reason was that every single hotel room in San Juan, PR was booked due to Valentine's Day traffick. I have no expilict proof of this, but it should be possible to find this from hotel reservation records. We were unable to find accommodation for the night as a result, contributing to the inconvenience and humiliation of the expreince.- San Juan-Munich

We purchased a flight MXP-MEX with Iberia, it had a stop and connecting flight in Madrid. The flight MXP-MAD was cancelled less than 24h before the flight and we were put on a flight that arrived in Madrid after the connecting flight left even when the reservation had both flights in it. We had to push with the airline and tell them about a flight option they had that would help us not lose the connecting flight but they denied us that option. We were supposed to arrive in Mexico on Thursday 26th at 22:10, and now we are arriving Saturday 28th at 5:10- Milano-Mexico City

according to flight radar aircraft EC-MLP was assigned to flight and landed at MAD on time. Iberia then cancelled IB269 to Rio and utilized this aircraft (EC-MKJ). Flight departed 4h 12m late- Madrid-Buenos Aires

Iberia Customer Service is a lost cause
The full complaint is 6 pages. In short, our bags were delayed between Madrid and Buenos Aires. They said they would arrive the next day, for 13 days they said this. The online tracking portal for lost baggage is broken, which they knew about and said happens sometimes. As you can see from my images, the system was down for our entire trip. Which led to Β£1 a minute calls. We spoke for 173 minutes in total. At one point, they gave my bag to a courier who should have delivered it after 36 hours. They chose a company with 1-star reviews on all platforms, and then when the bag didn't make it, within 8 days, we had to personally track it down and retrieve it ourselves, as at no point did Ibeira do anything they stated they would. They did arrange a refund of the items I had to purchase while away and told me that was my compensation. When I countered that there is a difference between compensation and reimbursement, I was offered 3200Euros, to then be told that was another mistake and was meant for a different individual. They then closed my case without any further contact. At every step, they have made the situation worse and have not helped to rectify it in any manner. I raised a complaint on 7th January and have not yet received a response.Overall
Not one person did what they said they would, then emailed me saying I would recieve 3200E in compensatiom, but this was also an error and was meant for a different person

Lost bag now going on 8 days with no help.
** UPDATE 10-Feb-2026 ** It has now been 11 days with no help from Iberia on recovering my bag. Daily calls yield the following: "We have your info, now just wait". It seems that the use of an Airtag ID that shows the precise location in their baggage area seems to make no impact on their "search". I am beyond frustrated. ** ORIGINAL 06-FEB-2026 ** I traveled from Philadelphia to Zurich via Madrid. My checked bag did not make the flight from Madrid to Zurich and is still in Madrid per the bag's AirTag (I also gave the tracking info to Iberia). I opened a lost bag case upon arrival in ZRH. It has now been 8 days with seemingly no plan by Iberia to locate or return my bag. I call Iberia Baggage Service 2x per day to get them to recover it or at least tell me what they expect to happen. Every time they tell me that "the case has not been escalated but NOW they will escalate it." Iberia team seems to have a script on this with no actual Customer help behind it.Overall

IBERIA CLAIM 2026011969493122 // N92RB BAKKER // KCD7C LOPEZ
Hello Iberia Team, I hope you are having a good start to the week. I am writing to formally clarify and document our situation, as we believe it can be explained more clearly in writing than by phone, especially given the different information we have received from multiple agents. This email complements the claim opened today, January 19, under case number 2026011969493122. The issue is that we were provided with incorrect and inconsistent information by Iberia staff on several occasions. Based on this information, we made financial decisions and arrangements, only to later learn during subsequent calls that the information given to us was different. To summarize the situation: We have two flights to Venezuela scheduled for February, one for Janne Bakker and one for Claudia Lopez. Due to the recent events in Venezuela on January 4, in addition to the previous flight suspensions and the ongoing uncertainty in the country, we contacted Iberia to confirm the status and options for our flights. After emailing Iberia, we were advised to call. On January 13, we spoke with a male agent who informed us that we could either postpone the flights or request a refund with a β¬35 penalty per ticket. He even began the refund process. I asked him to pause it, as we needed some time to discuss and confirm our decision. I also specifically asked about the deadline to request the cancellation, and he confirmed that doing so up to 48 hours before departure would be acceptable. Based on this information, we reorganized our personal finances. On January 16, we called again to proceed with the cancellation and refund. This time, a female agent told us that Janne Bakker was eligible for a refund, but Claudia Lopez could only receive a voucher. This contradicted the information previously provided. I asked to speak with another agent or a supervisor for clarification, but after a long silence on the line, the call was disconnected. Today, hoping this was all a misunderstanding, we called again. The agent, whose name I believe was Sergio, informed us that both tickets could only be refunded as vouchers. Once again, this was different from what we had been told before. As you can imagine, this situation has been very frustrating, as the information changes with every call. We kindly request that you review the recordings of our previous conversations, identify where the misinformation occurred, and proceed with the cancellation and refund of both flights, in line with the information initially provided to us. Booking references: N92RB β Bakker KCD7C β Lopez Thank you very much for your time and assistance. We look forward to your prompt response. Kind regards, Janne Bakker and Claudia Lopez- Economy

EntschΓ€digung fΓΌr die 2 beschΓ€digten Koffer wurde abgelehnt
Dear Sir or Madam, on our flight with IBERIA from Santiago/Chile to Frankfurt over Madrid on 30/31. December 2025 two of our suitcases had been damaged. The handles were broken on both bagages. transaction number E20260109-69164148, PIR: FRAIB19982 But yesterday we got the information that our complaint had been declined because the suitcases had been opened by the customs. This cannot be true because they were both be locked by a lock and these locks are not damaged. We also did not find a letter of the customs in our bagages. Therefore I urge you to compensate us for these two damaged soutcases as soon as possible Thank you very much Michael Gutmann Ulrike von Staden Taunusstr. 81 D 55118 Mainz GermanyOverall

I placed the compensation request on December 15th 2025 and I received a confirmation mail with a case number (00959153). On December 29th 2025 I asked about my case because I did not receive any further informations after my original request. They did not answer to my reminder either. I am in touch with other passengers affected by the deny and there are contradicting informations received after contacting the airline: some get a confirmation, that the compensation will be paid, others report that the company denied in the phone call any compensation. At this point I decided to search the aid of AirAdvisor.- Barcelona-Buenos Aires

On November 5th, 2025, at 8:21 PMβnearly half an hour after the original departure time (while I was already waiting for at the gate) βI received an SMS message stating: "Your flight 0734 of 05NOV to MAD has been cancelled. You can contact Serviberia at iberia.es/IC/0K1rPT or change your booking at iberia.es/IC/LHW6Bn. Thank you." I received no information about my passenger rights via email or SMS. There was no mention of whether I was entitled to compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, nor was there any information or evidence provided about the reason for the cancellation that might have exempted them from paying compensation. Afterwards, I subsequently filed three separate claims for compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, as well as for additional expenses I had incurred, such as a taxi ride back home. However, each time I received the same generic rejection: "Thank you for contacting us about the incident that occurred as a result of the cancellation of your flight IB0734 on 5/11/2025, from AMS to MAD. We appreciate that this caused you inconvenience during your trip. Punctuality is one of our top priorities and we invest our utmost efforts every day into ensuring that our flights arrive on time. This depends on our own actions but also on external factors, whose repercussions we always strive to minimise. In this case, circumstances beyond our control affected our operations." I also called customer service to inquire about the specific reason for the cancellation, but the agent would say nothing more than "unforeseen operational reasons." In all three requests I submitted through their online form, I clearly stated that I was entitled to compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, and that unless they could provide evidence of an extraordinary circumstance, they were obligated to pay. Three times they failed to provide any such evidence, and three times they rejected my claim with the same generic message. To make matters worse, when the flight was cancelled, Iberia booked me on an alternative KLM flight for the following morning. However, when I arrived at the airport, it became clear that Iberia had not properly processed this rebooking, and no ticket had been created in KLM's system. As a result, I was placed on a standby list and didn't know until thirty minutes before departure whether I would be able to board. I was extremely fortunate to eventually get on the flight, but it could just as easily have gone the other way. I found this incredibly stressful and careless on Iberia's part. I only received confirmation from KLM via SMS on Thursday, November 6th at 7:12 AM that my seat had been confirmed and I could board the flight.- Amsterdam-Madrid

My flight was due to leave Barcelona at 15:05 and left after 22:37, and was due to arrive in Miami 20:00 and arrived 02:36. The airline told us once we landed that one of the emergency slides was being replaced in Barcelona and they decided to wait for it to be fixed so they could carry all passengers. They provided no care whatsoever other than the captain said sorry. No food vouchers were offered and no extra food or drinks were given on the plane. The incident inconvenienced me as I already had a flight from Ibiza to Barcelona earlier in the day at 11:10 therefore my layover time was increased from 2 hours to 9 hours therefore I had to buy more food to take me through this time and then when eventually arriving in Miami I had been awake for 24 hours I was extremely exhausted, stressed and tired. I lost money that was spent on food.- Ibiza-Miami

Policy violation on flight around minors
Flight from Boston to Madrid on Friday 12/19 at 9:20PM, my two children were assigned seats separated than myself as their adult. This goes against policy as I have young kids (7 and 10 years) and they are under the age of 14 as per airline policy not permitting children to be seated away from their parent or guardian. When asked during check in, no change of seat was granted. This is simply unacceptable given the unnecessary stress this is causing and it is in violation to your airline policy.Overall
My kids who are under the age of 14 were assigned seats separate then me as their parents which is against policy of the airline.

I apologize for the large number of PDF files β Iberia keeps responding in new email threads every time I ask a question, which creates multiple separate conversations. In short: They initially agreed to reimburse 81.44 EUR. After I asked about the EU261 flight compensation, which should be around $1,200 total for two passengers (me and Daria), they suddenly changed direction and said they needed additional βtax documentsβ for extra expenses. When I tried to clarify exactly what documents they needed, they changed their position again and went back to saying they will only reimburse 81.44 EUR, without giving any explanation regarding the EU261 compensation. Throughout the entire exchange, they have completely ignored my repeated questions about the flight reimbursement under EU261. So right now Iberia is only confirming the payment of 81.44 EUR, and they are not providing any information or clarification regarding the much larger EU261 compensation that we are entitled to.- Duesseldorf-Boston

There was no electricity and I had paid for internet..
I was on IB0341 on Nov 23. I paid 20 euros for internet. I plugged my laptop into the electrical outlet. Within 30 minutes, my laptop was out of juice. I then tried plugging other devices into the outlet. None of them worked. I am asking for a refund of the 20 Euros since the flight was miserable since I had planned on a combination of sleeping and using my laptop.Overall

Technical problems
Flight from Barcelona to JFK 6:35pm 10/28/25 delayed 2 hours, then canceled while passengers were waiting to board at the gate. Everyone was told to report to a ticket desk downstairs to rebook. Waited for hours and called Level airlines repeatedly, unable to get through to anyone. When ticket counter finally opened they were rebooking people for 10/30 & 10/31, without accommodations. We booked another flight ourselves as neither of us were able to be off work for that long, and we had to get home to our pets. We also reserved our own hotel room at the airport. We flew from Barcelona to Azores, Portugal, and from there to JFK, landing around 11pm.- Barcelona-New York

Technical problems
On October 28, 2025, I was scheduled to travel from Barcelona (BCN) to New York (JFK) on Level Airlines flight IB 2627. While waiting at the gate for departure, at approximately 8:00 PM, Level Airlines staff announced that the flight was experiencing a technical issue and that a technician was attempting to repair the aircraft. Shortly thereafter, the airline informed all passengers at the gate that the flight was cancelled. We were instructed by Level Airlines staff to wait for further instructions regarding rebooking. After waiting at the airport ticket counter for several hours along with the other passengers, we were advised to secure our own hotel accommodations and submit receipts for reimbursement. We were also told we would receive an email regarding rebooking options. Despite waiting and attempting to contact Level Airlines by phone, email, and website chat, we did not receive any communication or assistance from the airline and were unable to reach an agent to be rebooked. Because no rebooking assistance or alternate flights were provided by Level Airlines, we were forced to rebook our travel independently in order to return home. The only available flight to JFK the following day was on Azores Airlines, which we purchased for $1,286.99. Boarding passes and the flight invoice are attached. We also purchased a hotel room at Hotel MeliΓ‘ Barcelona Airport, as instructed by airline staff. The hotel invoice is attached. These expenses have not been reimbursed by the airline. Additionally, we prepaid approximately $90 for seat reservations on the original Level Airlines flight. These seat fees were non-refundable and have also not been reimbursed. Documentation attached: β Original Level Airlines ticket and invoice and board passes β Level Airlines cancellation note (if applicable) β Boarding passes & invoice for rebooked Azores Airlines flight ($1,286.99) β Hotel invoice for MeliΓ‘ Airport Hotel(184 euro ~$223.95) β Proof of prepaid seat fees (~$90) β Taxi from JFK airport home after rebooked flight $18 β Screenshot/email of attempted contact with Level Airlines customer service I am requesting reimbursement for the additional expenses incurred as a direct result of the flight cancellation and lack of rebooking assistance. I submitting a claim online and reopened it a few times to see if a different representative would give me a different response which did not happen. This was my latest claim I sent and they still denied it: I am writing once again regarding my delayed flight which arrived over five hours late due to a technical issue with the aircraft. My previous compensation requests have been denied, despite this delay clearly qualifying for compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004. According to established EU case law, technical or operational issues with the aircraft are not considered extraordinary circumstances, and passengers are entitled to compensation. Unless I receive confirmation of compensation, I will proceed by engaging a specialized EU261 claims company and legal representatives to recover the full amount due, along with any applicable interest and costs. I hope Iberia will resolve this matter promptly to avoid further escalation.- Barcelona-Los Angeles

Claim for Compensation β Delayed and Missed Connection (Flight IB0347, October 31, 2025) Dear Iberia Customer Relations Team, I am submitting a formal claim under EU Regulation 261/2004 and the Montreal Convention due to a significant delay and lack of assistance during my recent trip with Iberia Airlines. My flight IB0347 from Madrid (MAD) to Boston (BOS) on October 31, 2025, was scheduled to depart at 12:30 PM but was delayed and finally departed around 4:10 PM. The aircraft landed in Boston around 7:25 PM local time, and it took additional time before the doors were opened. Because of this long delay, I missed my connecting flight to New York (JFK), which was booked under the same Iberia reservation. I had been informed online that I would receive assistance and my transfer boarding pass upon arrival in Boston. However, upon arrival, no Iberia staff were present, and no one assisted me. I was exhausted after being awake for more than 24 hours. No one offered food vouchers, accommodation, or alternative transport arrangements. In Madrid, I was told that compensation was not possible because the delay was βless than 3 hours,β even though my entire itinerary was clearly affected, and my connecting flight was missed. At Boston airport, I had to find help from a random person (not an Iberia employee) who assisted me in obtaining a replacement ticket for a Delta Airlines flight at 8:55 PM, which was also delayed several times and finally departed around 10:55 PM. I eventually arrived at JFK Airport in New York at 11:55 PM, instead of the originally scheduled 7:00 PM, which means a total delay of more than 4 hours at my final destination. Because of this, I missed my pre-booked train from Manhattan and had to take a taxi home at around 1:00 AM. The taxi cost approximately $100 USD, and I also incurred expenses for food and transportation during this extended delay. Therefore, I am requesting the following: β β¬600 compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 for a delay of more than 4 hours at the final destination; β Full reimbursement of additional expenses (taxi, train, and food) incurred due to the delay and lack of assistance. I am attaching my booking confirmation, boarding passes, photos and screenshots proving the actual flight times, and receipts for the taxi and other expenses. I appreciate your understanding and look forward to your response. Sincerely, BOZOROVA MUNISA Email: MUNISA3030M@GMAIL.COM Phone: +1 929 339 3657- Madrid-New York
