Lost bag after Riga Warsaw Toronto Ottawa flight
On June 28 I gave my bag to LOT in Riga. I specifically asked if I needed to collect my bag anywhere. I was told no and it would reach my final destination of Ottawa. I asked are you sure? The LOT agent said yes. It is July 2 and I still do not have my bag. My friend on the June 29 flight was told the same information and is also missing his bag. Additionally, I paid $1350 for this flight and my seat from Warsaw to Toronto did not have foot space or storage. We also sat on the tarmac in Warsaw for 1.5 hours. If I do not receive my bag intact, LOT will be billed by WestJet for over $2,000.Overall

Death doesn’t wait for polish airlines injustice
Yes- A Lot of money. But worst of all, my friend who was waiting for me to arrive to help out because of his accident died before I could get there. 40 years of age. The medical exemption documents which were issued by the Canadien Government allowing me to fly were submitted. It was several months of proper record documentation and issuance. Time and expenses has not been paid for. We have requested the proper records due to this incident.Overall
Was based on incorrect denial. Had documents to support entry- And reschedule as agreed with station manager was not honored

Didnt get emergency exit seat which I paid extra for
Reservation #K75AXR for Marta Krawiec I paid extra for a seat by the emergency door but was seated in a regular seat because the airplane that arrived was the smaller one and the seat # was for a regular seat instead of the special seat. When I called LOT they told me that I could get a credit for my next flight within 2 years. As I am not flying, but my son will be, would he be able to get the credit for that seat? If not, could I be compensated for the seat or the credit to be extended until my next flight which I am not sure when that would be because of my health situation. We have been customers with your airline for nearly 40 years and would greatly appreciate a timely resolution to this matter. My son Mike Krawiec will be flying on June 15th from Krakow to Chicago, his reservation # is X5OUP5. Would you be able to transer this credit for the special emergency exit seat with extra leg room? If not, could I get a refund for this extra cost. Thank you for your time. I had already contacted LOT Polish Airlines directly for compensation regarding my disrupted journey on 31 December 2025, but despite several emails and follow-ups over the past 6 months, I have not received any substantive response or resolution from the airline. My journey was from Athens to Luxembourg via Warsaw on the same booking. Flight LO602 from Athens to Warsaw was delayed, and instead of arriving around 16:30, I arrived in Warsaw at approximately 17:30. Due to this delay, I missed my connecting flight to Luxembourg. LOT rebooked me on a flight the following day, which caused me to arrive at my final destination with a significant delay and serious inconvenience during New Year’s Eve. I had previously closed my AirAdvisor case in order to try resolving the matter directly with the airline. However, since LOT has failed to respond properly after many months, I would now like AirAdvisor to handle the claim on my behalf again. I can provide all previous correspondence with the airline if needed.- Athens-Luxemburg

Dear LOT Polish Airlines Customer Relations Team, I am writing this email at 2am, sitting on a chair at Tallinn Airport in Estonia. I have been awake for almost two days. I am exhausted, I am angry, and I am deeply disappointed in your airline. I did not plan to be in Estonia. I did not plan to spend my Friday night and Saturday morning stranded across multiple airports. I had plans in Copenhagen - plans that mattered to me - and your airline took that away from me completely. I want you to read every word of this carefully, because I am not going to let this go. —————————————— MY DETAILS: —————————————— Passenger: Ankita Punjani Booking Reference: XI4TQV Tickets: 080242641141701 / 080242641141702 —————————————— WHAT I BOOKED: —————————————— A simple two-flight trip on 22 May 2026, both under the same booking XI4TQV: Flight LO776 - Vilnius (VNO) to Warsaw (WAW) - Departing 19:15, Arriving 19:20 Flight LO459 - Warsaw (WAW) to Copenhagen (CPH) - Departing 20:40, Arriving 22:10 I was supposed to walk into Copenhagen at 22:10 on Friday evening. That is what I paid for. That is what I planned around. —————————————— WHAT YOUR AIRLINE DID TO ME!! —————————————— Flight LO776 from Vilnius was delayed. That delay caused me to miss LO459 to Copenhagen - the whole reason I was travelling that day. And from that moment, everything got worse. Your airline did not try to find me a same-day solution. Nobody came to me with options. Nobody showed any urgency or genuine care. I was simply, automatically, pushed onto flights the next morning - nearly 24 hours after I was supposed to arrive in Copenhagen. My Friday evening in Copenhagen was gone. Just like that. And then, when I approached your staff at the airport for help and some basic human decency, I was spoken to rudely. I was dismissed. I was made to feel like an inconvenience — by the very people whose airline had just ruined my day. I cannot tell you how demoralising that felt on top of everything else. But the story does not end there. The rerouted flights your airline gave me were not even Warsaw to Copenhagen. I was sent to Tallinn, Estonia - a country in the completely opposite direction. Flight LO791, Warsaw to Tallinn, was already a late-night flight departing at 23:00. And then, because apparently one delay was not enough, even that replacement flight was delayed — pushed to 23:45 — as confirmed in your own written notification to me, which I have attached. I landed in Tallinn in the early hours of Saturday morning. My onward flight to Copenhagen from here does not leave until 06:15. That is over four hours sitting at an airport I never should have been in, waiting for a flight that is barely 1.5 hours long. Let me be very clear about what this means in total: I have been travelling, waiting, and stranded across airports for close to two full days — to reach a city that was supposed to take an easy connecting journey. I missed the entirety of Friday in Copenhagen. I lost plans, time, and energy that I cannot recover. The physical exhaustion of sitting in airports through the night is real. The frustration of watching delay after delay after delay, with no proper help from your staff, is real. This was not a minor disruption. This was a genuinely awful experience that your airline is fully responsible for. —————————————— **MY LEGAL CLAIM — EU REGULATION 261/2004** —————————————— I am formally demanding €600 in compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004. Every single condition is met, clearly and without question: Same booking: LO776 and LO459 are both on booking XI4TQV. This is one connected trip. Delay of nearly 24 hours: My original arrival was 22:10 on 22 May. I will arrive approximately 24 hours later — far beyond the 3-hour minimum threshold. Fully your airline's fault: Every delay at every stage was caused by LOT Polish Airlines. No extraordinary circumstances were cited to me at any point. I also expect full reimbursement for every expense I had to pay out of pocket because of this situation. Receipts will follow separately. —————————————— **WHAT I AM DEMANDING** —————————————— €600 compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 Full reimbursement of all out-of-pocket costs caused by this disruption A formal written acknowledgment of what went wrong — the delays and the unacceptable conduct of your staff I expect a full response within 14 days. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution, I will not hesitate to escalate this to the National Enforcement Body under EU Regulation 261/2004, file a formal complaint through the European Consumer Centres Network, take this as far as I need to legally and through consumer protection channels, and share every detail of this experience publicly — on social media, travel platforms, and anywhere else people choose airlines. I have everything: both boarding passes, the booking confirmation, and your own written delay notification for LO791. My case is documented and I am ready to escalate. I genuinely hope your airline chooses to handle this properly. Right now, you have an opportunity to do the right thing. How you respond will determine exactly how public this becomes. This is the same email that i sent to the airline. Subject: FORMAL COMPLAINT AND CLAIM: Flight LO773 | 21.03.2026. | Booking Ref: X6KRYH | Matej Maric To the LOT Polish Airlines Claims Department, I am writing to formally lodge a claim for compensation and reimbursement of expenses regarding my journey from Zagreb to Vilnius on March 21, 2026 (Booking Ref: X6KRYH). Due to the disruption of flight LO773, I reached my final destination with a delay of over 24 hours. 1. Claim for Statutory Compensation (250 EUR) Under EC Regulation 261/2004, I am entitled to 250 EUR in compensation. Other aircraft landed in Vilnius at the same time as my scheduled flight. Furthermore, other passengers were rebooked on much earlier flights (11:00 AM and 2:00 PM), while I was arbitrarily delayed until 4:25 PM without explanation, proving an operational failure. 2. Violation of Duty of Care As a student on a limited budget, the 24-hour delay caused me extreme hardship. LOT failed to provide the Duty of Care required by law: Lack of Food and Water: I was left for over 15 hours without any vouchers or assistance. Substandard Accommodation: The hotel provided was hazardous. Attached photos show insects on the ceiling, blood stains on the walls, and dirty linens. Rest was impossible. Discriminatory Treatment: Unlike my companions, I received no taxi vouchers or info updates, leaving me stranded and separated from my group, causing additional costs. 3. Claim for Reimbursement of Expenses (Receipts attached) I request full reimbursement for the following out-of-pocket expenses: Food and Beverages: 21.62 EUR Taxi/Transportation: 7.90 EUR Missed Accommodation in Vilnius: 135.12 EUR Total Expenses Claimed: 164.64 EUR Total Settlement Requested: 250 EUR (Compensation) + 164.64 EUR (Expenses) = 414.64 EUR. Attached are photos of the hotel conditions, boarding passes, and all relevant receipts. I expect a response and settlement within 14 days. If denied, I will escalate this to the Civil Aviation Authority (ULC). Sincerely, Matej Maric Phone: +385958092229 Email: matejmaric2412mm@gmail.com- Zagreb-Vilnius

This matter was already mediated by the Urząd Lotnictwa Cywilnego and the ADR ruled in my favour on April 13, 2026, stating: "payment of compensation for the cancellation of the flight amounting to €600, according to Regulation (EC) No 261/2004". LOT's response was to refuse to "participate in ADR mediation.” I subsequently contacted LOT and they responded on April 20, 2026 by saying, "We have reviewed your case again. However, we have not changed the decision communicated in the previous letter. We confirm that we made our decision based on current regulations". Here is a summary of the initial complaint for reference: My return flight home scheduled for November 6th, 2025 to Toronto (LO45) via Krakow (LO3920) was cancelled on September 30th, 2025, a week before my scheduled departure. The alternatives provided by LOT customer support staff were flights on November 10th (with a 10-hour layover) or November 12th. Both were unacceptable as I had work to return to. The refund that was offered (half of the total fair) was insufficient to cover the cost of booking a return flight on a competitor's airline and that is not saying anything of the hassle and inconvenience that I experienced as a result of LOT's cancellation. EU air passenger rights require that customers be notified of a cancellation 14 days prior to departure. I was notified 7 days prior to departure. For a flight exceeding 3500KM, the compensation I was entitled to is 600 Euros in the event of cancellation. I submitted a claim to LOT on November 2nd, 2025 and on November 5th LOT responded with a complaint reference number that was assigned to my case: RP/54774/25 On November 28, 2025 I received a response from a Specialist at LOT’s Claims Department saying: "We apologize for the irregularity of our flight LO45 on November 6, 2025. We have awarded you EUR 600 in compensation.” They directed me to fill out an online form to receive the compensation. I filled it out and thought that this matter was taken care of. It wasn’t until December 8, 2025, that I received a follow-up email from the same Specialist at LOT’s Claims Department saying that they were revoking "the decision of granting you the compensation for the cancellation of flight LO45, November 6, 2025.” Their reason for doing so was: "Flight has been canceled due to a manufacturing defect in an aircraft that reduces the safety of passengers and that was identified by the manufacturer of the aircraft concerned, therefore compensation is not due.”- Krakow-Toronto

Complaint regarding confiscation of power bank and unprofessional staff behavior – Warsaw Chopin Airport
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to file a complaint regarding an unpleasant experience at the security checkpoint at Warsaw Chopin Airport on April 18, 2026, before my flight from Warsaw to Frankfurt (flight LO 377). During the security screening, the staff noticed my power bank in the scanner and asked me to remove it from my bag. I was then told that the device was “too big,” without any clear explanation as to whether this referred to its capacity or another restriction. I would like to emphasize that I have carried this same power bank on previous flights without any issues, including a flight with the same airline (LOT) just one day earlier. I politely asked if there was any way I could still take it with me or if there was an alternative solution. I was told that there were “new rules” and that I should complain to the airline. At this point, the staff member’s tone became noticeably rude. I explained that I had traveled with the same device the day before without any problems, but she insisted that it was no longer allowed, without offering any further clarification or checking the information. When I briefly turned to my friend to explain what had happened, the staff member raised her voice and said: “What’s your problem, next time read the rules,” followed by “Complain to the airline, not here.” I find this manner of communication completely inappropriate and unprofessional. As a passenger who remained calm, polite, and simply asked reasonable questions, I expected basic respect and clear information, not a raised voice and dismissive attitude. I kindly ask you to: • clarify whether new regulations regarding power banks have indeed been introduced and ensure they are clearly communicated to passengers, • review the conduct of the staff member on duty at that time, • take appropriate measures to prevent similar situations in the future. I look forward to your response and an explanation.- Warsaw-Frankfurt

Inconsistent and unfair policy enforcement
Selective policy enforcement of carryon weight limit; I was asked to weigh mine at the checked bag desk and my carryon was over the limit, but the attendants told me they don’t weigh all the carryons that come on and I am sure there are many that also exceeded the weight limit. This is selective policy enforcement is unfair. It’s true that I exceeded the limit (though I didn’t realize it was 8kg) but I would like to request a good will fee waiver due to the selective enforcement unfairness. Please consider, I don’t have the money to pay this. Thank you for your time.Overall

The offered new flight was on Thursday night, but I couldn't take it, because I had arrangements in Vilnius on Thursday afternoon. Also, when rebooking the flight, the agent forgot to mention it is on Thursday evening and not Wednesday evening as I was requesting - and later on they said I have accepted a new flight and couldn't offer me a new one. I accepted not knowing it was the next day. When I asked why my flight was cancelled, the agent didn't know about the BER strike and that no flights will depart on Wednesday, so it wasn't specified to me. Technical problems
On 8 January, I was scheduled to travel on a morning flight operated by PLL LOT departing from Warsaw at 7:35 a.m. The flight did not depart as planned due to a technical fault with the aircraft. Passengers, including myself, were kept on board for nearly three hours while awaiting further information. During this time, the cabin crew informed us that Heathrow Airport had been notified and that the connecting flight to Washington would wait for our arrival. However, after eventually arriving in London, I discovered that the onward flight to the United States had already departed and had not waited, despite the earlier assurances. As a result, I was unable to continue my journey to Washington and Los Angeles on the same day as originally scheduled. Furthermore, for approximately nine hours I was unable to contact any representative of PLL LOT, either at the airport or via telephone, in order to obtain assistance with rebooking or arranging accommodation. Due to the delay and lack of support, I was forced to stay overnight in London at my own expense and cover the cost of the hotel myself. I also had to purchase a UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation), which was an additional unforeseen expense directly caused by the disruption. Because of these circumstances and the airline’s failure to provide adequate assistance, I arrived in the United States with a delay of over 24 hours. Consequently, I was unable to attend an important wedding ceremony of a close acquaintance, which had been the primary purpose of my trip.- Warsaw-Los Angeles

Dear all, in the meantime our daughter arrived back at home and the luggage was found on the last day and handed back to her for the flight back to Germany. But she was required to buy all clothes and amenity items for the 2 weeks stay in Seoul, where it was very cold. At least we will demand a reimbursement for the purchases she had to make, because the luggage was not delivered in time. In the luggage were also some pharmaceuticals, where they were requested to buy in Seoul. All purchased items can be found in the attached file. I am disputing LOT's claim that the 10-hour delay was caused by weather conditions. Specifically, I received the first notification about a 9.5-hour delay (from 06:00 to 15:30) at 01:15 AM—nearly five hours before the scheduled departure. It is highly unlikely that a weather event could justify such an immediate and substantial rescheduling so far in advance. Furthermore, despite my formal requests, LOT has failed to provide any concrete evidence to prove that weather conditions directly prevented the flight or that they took all reasonable measures to minimize the delay. I believe the delay was due to operational reasons rather than 'extraordinary circumstances'.- Tel-aviv-Krakow

Compensation du coût de l'annulation de mon vol, du changement de lieu d'atterrissage et de l'absence de contact avec moi
Subject: Claim for Compensation and Reimbursement of Expenses – Flight Cancellation & Rerouting (Regulation EC 261/2004) Dear Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally lodge a claim regarding my flight which was originally scheduled from Warsaw to Amsterdam. Due to the cancellation of the original flight, I was rerouted to Brussels instead of my final destination (Amsterdam). Although the departure time remained similar, the change of destination to a different country caused a significant delay in reaching my final destination (Amsterdam) and forced me to incur additional transportation costs. Under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, I am claiming the following: Fixed Compensation: €250 for flight cancellation and rerouting to a different airport/country. Right to Care Reimbursement: During my 5-hour wait at Warsaw Airport, no meal vouchers were provided. I am attaching receipts for meals purchased at my own expense (€10.26). Transportation Costs: Reimbursement for my train/bus ticket from Brussels Airport to Amsterdam, as the airline failed to provide transport to the original destination. Attached are all supporting documents, including boarding passes and receipts. I look forward to receiving the compensation and reimbursement within the legal timeframe. I am submitting this as a formal notice regarding the cancellation of my flight, for which no reason was provided and for which I received no prior notification. I only became aware that the flight had been cancelled when I presented myself for check-in at the airport. I am submitting this as a formal notice regarding the cancellation of my flight, for which no reason was provided and for which I received no prior notification. I only became aware that the flight had been cancelled when I arrived at the airport at approximately 06:00 for my scheduled 08:45 departure. This failure is particularly serious given that I was issued valid boarding passes approximately 12 hours prior to the scheduled departure, reasonably confirming that the flight was operating. The cancellation without notice or explanation constitutes a clear breach of the operating carrier’s obligations under EU Regulation 261/2004. At the airport, I was informed that the earliest available rerouting was a flight departing three days later. This does not constitute “rerouting at the earliest opportunity” as required under Article 8 of the Regulation. We were traveling with a one-year-old infant, and the lack of timely rerouting, assistance, or clear information caused significant hardship. In addition, this delay has resulted in the loss of multiple workdays. Pursuant to Articles 5, 7, 8, and 9 of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, the operating air carrier is required to: Provide timely notification of cancellations; Clearly communicate the reason for cancellation; Offer immediate rerouting or reimbursement at the passenger’s choice; Provide care and assistance appropriate to the circumstances, particularly where vulnerable passengers are involved; Pay statutory compensation unless the carrier can demonstrate extraordinary circumstances and compliance with notification requirements. To date, none of these obligations have been met. In the absence of a stated reason for cancellation and given the lack of prior notice, I consider myself entitled to compensation under Article 7, in addition to rerouting or reimbursement under Article 8 and care under Article 9.
