Technical problems
Dear Lufthansa. We tried to do all with the chatboot and AI - but did not succeed. Our flight was delayed from Split to Munich cause of the weather conditions on the 31 May. And therefore - me and my Iver-Storm MarΓΈy Stockman missed our connecting Lufthansa Flight to Oslo the same evening. We were booked on a new flight on the 1st of June - but this flight was also cancelled due to technical reasons. We were offered then train tickets to Frankfurt - but then we could not get in time to our connecting Lufthansa flight in Frankfurt on time to Oslo. I was then unfortunately put in a position to by new flight tickets for me and my son with another flight and company to Oslo. We arrived Oslo 1st June at approx. 1900. My son and I lost one day of working - as we both were expected at work on Monday 1st June. We got vouchers for taxi and hotel. Kind regards Kristin Stockman- Split-Oslo

This is the email I sent to Lufthansa: I am writing to formally claim compensation and reimbursement under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 in relation to the cancellation of flight LH339 on 01 June 2026. Passenger: Pasquale Capasso Original flight: LH339, Naples (NAP) β Frankfurt (FRA) Scheduled departure: 06:00, 01 June 2026 Status: Cancelled Flight LH339 was cancelled and I was automatically rebooked onto an alternative connection via Zurich (LX1711 NAPβZRH, then onward to Amsterdam). This alternative routing was not a reasonable substitute, as it did not allow me to reach my final destination β Amsterdam (AMS) β by the morning, which was required for a professional commitment. As a result, I was obliged to purchase an alternative ticket at my own expense in order to arrive in time. Replacement flight purchased: KL2099 Naples β Paris CDG (dep. 06:05) + KL1404 CDG β Amsterdam (arr. 10:55), 01 June 2026 Total cost: GBP 930.00 Payment method: American Express I am accordingly claiming: 1. Reimbursement of alternative transport costs: GBP 930.00 (Article 8, EU261/2004) 2. Standard compensation of EUR 250 for a flight under 1,500km (Article 7, EU261/2004) Please note that the β¬348.61 refund on the original ticket has already been processed, and I am not seeking duplication of that amount. I request a response within 14 days. Should I not receive a satisfactory resolution, I will escalate this matter to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and consider further action through the relevant ADR scheme.- Naples-Amsterdam

My flight was scheduled on 31 May 2026 at 18:55 and I got a text that my flight was cancelled at 14:15 while I was trying to reach out to airline by live chat it was not possible possibly due to many passengers was trying to do the same thing. Then I got a text stated that the airline rebook my flight via India airline instead at 20:50. However I was not given any alternative or anything to choose my flight. So I tried to call the airline while I took a taxi to airport and reached around 16:00. While I was on call around 30 mins with the airline they still cannot change my flight as I requested and the operator asked me to go to the check in counter. At the check in the staff at the counter made some call and checking and wrote me a piece of paper with a Turkish flight number TK1864 and said my flight is changed to this and asked me to walked to terminal 3 and go to counter 301. When I got there there were already a very long queue of many passengers of Turkish airline and I queue for over an hour before the staff at the counter told me she cannot find my name on the booking at Turkish airline. I was upset they tried to call Lufthansa and asked me to walk back to Terminal 1 to again go to Lufthansa counter. The staff at the counter could not give me clear solution on what happened and kept me waiting and said the flight was overbooked. It was around 18:30 that they finally told me that there were no flight until tomorrow and they could book me a Swiss airline instead and gave me a paper of what I can claim for hotel, meal etc but the claim budget was very low. They did not give me anything to sign and even took the paper her colleague wrote to me on the Turkish flight info back. They are not very professional and not nice to have passengers walk back and forth. Not good service at all.- Rome-Bangkok

My flight from London Heathrow to Munich on 13 May 2026 scheduled for 20:35 was cancelled and I was rebooked onto the 07:30 flight on 14 May. Although Lufthansa offered hotel accommodation, transport and meal support, these services were not successfully provided. The transfer bus to the hotel never arrived. After arranging and paying for my own taxi to the Premier Inn Terminal 5, I was informed there were no rooms available. I then attempted to find accommodation at two additional hotels, which were also full, before paying for another taxi back to Heathrow. I also attempted to use the provided meal support at CafΓ© Nero, but staff informed me they could not process it, leaving me to purchase food at my own expense. As a result, I was unable to secure accommodation and had to remain overnight in Heathrow Terminal 2 until my rebooked flight departed the following morning.- London-Munich

Lufthansa is blaming on bad weather but cancelled the flight in the morning, many hours before there was "bad weather" - the bad weather was just some rain. We were sitting at the airport for 5 hours and for a big airport like Frankfurt, there were only few cancellations and ALL were by Lufthansa. They are hiding behind the bad weather, but timing is showing they cancelled before any bad weather. We landed also 90 minutes before the scheduled flight was supposed to go and there were no problems. There were no disruptions for other airlines, so they cannot blame on that. I can provide you with more information by email, but pls judge if there is any chance of getting anything since they are defending by bad weather. Here you would need to go deeper than accepting it. There should be proof that other airlines were also cancelling (they were not). And also big point is that they cancelled several flights already in the morning, before the "bad weather"- Naples-Prague

Dear Lufthansa Customer Relations, My original flight itinerary was disrupted due to a Lufthansa flight delay, which caused me to miss my connecting flight to Taiwan. I was rebooked on an alternative route and arrived at my final destination much later than originally scheduled. I would like to request compensation for the delay and reimbursement for any necessary expenses caused by the disruption. I also request an official delay/disruption certificate for insurance and claim purposes. Attached are my booking confirmation, boarding passes, rebooking information. As a result of the initial flight delay, I missed my connecting flight LH1374 from Frankfurt to WrocΕaw on 27 April 2026, which was originally scheduled to arrive at 14:25. Lufthansa subsequently rebooked me on a later service, with an actual arrival time of 22:15 in WrocΕaw. This constitutes a total delay of 7 hours and 50 minutes at my final destination. The fact that Lufthansa itself proactively rebooked me with the message: "As your original journey with LH1374 from Frankfurt to WrocΕaw on 27 April 2026 can no longer take place as scheduled, we have rebooked you" β confirms that the disruption was acknowledged by the airline.- New York-Wroclaw

Strike
The flight was cancelled due to strike action. The airline initially proposed several alternative flights; however, none of them were suitable for our planned schedule. Only after contacting the call centre were we offered an alternative that was, to some extent, acceptable. The disruption occurred on my 30th birthday. We were originally scheduled to arrive in Miami no later than 3:00 p.m.; however, due to the circumstances, we did not arrive until the evening. As a result, all pre-arranged plans for that day had to be cancelled.- Warsaw-Miami

Terrible customer service, overcharge
Dear Sir/Madam, This is in reference to Booking ID 9TDFUH for passengers I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a series of issues associated with this booking, which resulted in significant financial loss, extreme stress, and a negative impact on my health. I had originally booked a return ticket and needed to extend my return by one week due to medical reasons. On March 23rd, I contacted your call center, where an agent assisted me with the rebooking. I was informed of an additional charge of CAD 1,200, which I agreed to and paid via credit card. I was clearly assured that everything was confirmed and finalized. However, one week prior to departure, I received an email requesting that I urgently contact your team. Upon doing so, I was unexpectedly informed that I would need to pay an additional CAD 6,910 due to a pricing error made by your agent. From April 4th onward, I experienced an extremely distressing experience over several days while I was in India. I repeatedly contacted your Canadian call center (as the Indian call center refused to assist), incurring significant international call charges. I spent hours on hold and engaged in continuous back-and-forth communication. During this period: I received conflicting information from multiple agents. Some agents confirmed everything was in order, while others insisted I must make additional payment or risk losing my ticket. Despite multiple escalations, I did not receive promised callbacks, even after providing my contact details. I have call logs documenting the frequency and duration of these interactions. This situation continued for four consecutive days, causing severe anxiety, sleepless nights, and aggravation of my existing medical condition. The level of stress and uncertainty I experienced was overwhelming and entirely avoidable. Eventually, on April 9th, the issue was resolved. Although every agent acknowledged that the error was on your end, I was still required to pay the CAD 1,200 to secure my return, as I had no alternative at that point. Unfortunately, the issues did not end there. On April 12th, at the airport, I encountered another issue regarding baggage allowance. My original booking included two checked bags per passenger; however, this was reduced during the rebooking process without my knowledge or consent. At the airport: Staff were unable to explain the discrepancy in baggage allowance. The system incorrectly showed charges as if for a third bag, when it was actually for the second bag. After further delays, calls, and approvals, I was still charged for baggage that should have been included. This is completely unacceptable. I did not authorize or consent to any changes in my baggage allowance, yet I was unfairly charged. The ordeal continued during boarding. Your staff instructed me to proceed with payment and then contact you regarding the baggage issue. Given the time constraint (around 1:00 PM), I complied. Shortly thereafter, I was informed that the flight was full and was asked if I would volunteer to stay back for a day. I agreed. I specifically raised concerns about timing, explaining that if I were cleared at 1:30 PM, it would be extremely difficult to complete immigration, security, and boarding within the limited time available. I was reassured that staff assistance and escort would be provided. However, at approximately 1:50 PM, I was informed that due to no-shows, I could board the flightβbut no assistance was provided as promised. I was left to rush through immigration, security, and boarding entirely on my own, without any support. This lack of coordination, inconsistent communication, and failure to honor commitments is unacceptable. What should have been a straightforward journey turned into a highly stressful and distressing experience. This was not a tripβit was a nightmare. I would like to emphasize that this entire situation stemmed from errors made by your team, yet I was left to bear the consequencesβfinancially, physically, and emotionally. Different agents across locations provided inconsistent information, and despite all acknowledging the error, no proper resolution was provided without causing significant hardship. Given that this was a medical-related trip, the stress and mishandling of the situation had an even more serious impact on my well-being. I have supporting medical documentation to substantiate this. I request the following: A full refund of the incorrectly charged baggage fees. Compensation for the ticket cost as it was handled incorrectly from the start Compensation for the financial loss, including call charges incurred. Compensation for the significant distress, inconvenience, and health impact caused. I urge you to review all call recordings and logs associated with my case, as they clearly demonstrate the extent of misinformation, mismanagement, and lack of accountability over several days. This situation is entirely unacceptable and warrants appropriate compensation. It is the airlineβs responsibility to honor what was originally agreed upon and not subject passengers to such prolonged stressβespecially when the error lies entirely on your end. I expect a fair resolution and a prompt response. Thanks and regards,- Economy

Problems at airport
I booked a flight because I needed to travel urgently to attend an important course that had already been arranged and paid for. The airline cancelled my original flight. Because the travel was urgent and I needed to arrive in time for the course, I immediately booked another flight on the same day. Unfortunately, the second flight was also cancelled by the airline. As a result of these cancellations, I had to book a hotel at short notice and incurred additional unexpected costs. Due to the disruption and delays, I missed the start of my course and was unable to attend. The course and accommodation were non-refundable, meaning I lost the money I had already paid. Because I had already missed the course and no longer had a reason to travel to the original destination, I then had to change my travel plans and fly to a different location instead. I have contacted the airline multiple times to resolve the situation, however I have been repeatedly redirected between the airline and the travel agent without receiving a clear resolution or compensation. This situation caused significant disruption, additional expenses, and financial loss, despite the cancellations being outside of my control. I am seeking compensation and reimbursement for the disruption and costs caused by the airline cancellations.- Nairobi-Miami

I had contacted airlines and got a reply back saying, "Kindly note that Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 applies to flights departing from EU member states and flights arriving in EU member states from third countries. As your journey starts in the United State Of America and ends in India we cannot accommodate your request for compensation according Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004." This doesn't make sense as we transitted through Frankfurt. The initial flight was delayed enroute as they had to land at the nearest airport (boston logan) due to fumes in the cabin. Since we couldn't get the connecting flight, it was rescheduled for a later flight by the airline itself, through airindia and we arrived in India nearly 15 hrs later than the initial scheduled time. This was too much for us at this age as we had a second transit in Mumbai where we had to collect our luggage and check it in again as it was an international to domestic flight. We are still struggling with the tiredness and stress this travel caused us at this age.- Washington-Madras

On 30 November 2025 I was travelling from Krakow (KRK) to Bangalore (BLR) on a single booking (PNR: ZQMPFX) with Lufthansa, itinerary KRKβMUCβBLR. My original flights were: LH1627 (KrakowβMunich), scheduled departure 06:30 on 30 Nov 2025 LH764 (MunichβBangalore), scheduled arrival in Bangalore 01:05 on 1 Dec 2025 Flight LH1627 was heavily delayed. Lufthansa staff indicated that the aircraft scheduled to operate LH1627 was not in Krakow that morning because an inbound MunichβKrakow flight the previous evening had been diverted back to Munich due to fog, so there was no aircraft available in KRK at the planned departure time. As a result I missed my connecting flight LH764 in Munich. Lufthansa rebooked me to travel the next day on an alternative routing operated by KLM via Amsterdam (MUCβAMSβBLR), which added an extra layover. My final arrival in Bangalore was at 00:40 on 2 Dec 2025, approximately 24 hours later than the original scheduled arrival time. Lufthansa provided duty of care vouchers during the disruption (meal voucher at Krakow airport, and hotel plus transport and dinner vouchers in Munich).
