No reason given
They refused to offer compensation under ATC restrictions and did not provide any further reason as to why the flight was restricted by ATC and which ATC. They also refused to provide delay certificates for both passengers.- London-Hanoi

Problems at airport
Dear AirAdvisor Team, I would like to request your assistance regarding a disrupted journey with Qatar Airways and the significant financial losses that my mother and I suffered as a result. Originally, we purchased our flights to Japan through an online travel agency. Before travelling, due to the passing of my grandfather, we were forced to change our travel dates. The agency informed us that the change had to be processed directly with Qatar Airways. Following their instructions, we contacted Qatar Airways and paid all applicable change fees as well as the fare difference for the newly issued tickets. Our outbound journey to Japan was completed without any issues. However, our return flight was cancelled due to the conflict in the Middle East. Although we understand that this may constitute an extraordinary circumstance, the way Qatar Airways handled the situation left us completely stranded and without assistance. At Haneda Airport, there were no Qatar Airways service desks available where we could seek help or request rebooking. We also checked at Narita Airport and found no Qatar Airways representatives there either. We even approached Japan Airlines in the hope that they could help us find an alternative route, but they declined to assist us. With no support from the airline and no alternative travel arrangements being offered, we had no choice but to purchase two new Emirates tickets at a total cost of EUR 1,090.22. These flights were only available to Madrid, as there were no available flights to Barcelona. Once we arrived in Madrid, we had to pay additional transport costs to reach our final destinations: Rebecca: domestic flight β EUR 276.53 Monica: train ticket β EUR 110.70 After returning home, Qatar Airways announced that passengers affected by the disruption could request a refund for the unused flights. We submitted a refund request for the unused return journey in the amount of EUR 1,027.72. Qatar Airways later informed us that they would only refund approximately EUR 472, representing the airline's own charges. They stated that the remaining amount, including agency-related charges, had to be refunded by the travel agency because the original booking had been made through them. Qatar Airways has provided inconsistent and contradictory information throughout this process. While they confirmed by email that we would receive a full refund, their customer service representatives later claimed over the phone that only part of the ticket could be refunded. These contradictory statements have delayed the resolution of our case and left us without the refund that was originally promised. Since then, I have spent countless hours on the phone with Qatar Airways. Many of these calls lasted more than an hour. Each time I was told that my case had been escalated to the relevant department, but no one has been able to provide a solution or complete the refund process. At the same time, I have repeatedly tried to contact the travel agency, but I have received no meaningful response. I would like to know whether I may be entitled to recover: The outstanding balance of the refund for the unused Qatar Airways ticket. The cost of the replacement Emirates tickets (EUR 1,090.22). The additional transport expenses to reach our final destinations (EUR 276.53 and EUR 110.70). And the price of the original return flight that is EUR 1,027.72. SO the total of the refund is: 2505,17 euros. Any other compensation or reimbursement available under applicable passenger rights legislation. I have retained all relevant documentation, including booking confirmations, receipts, proof of payment, correspondence with Qatar Airways and the travel agency, and evidence of the additional expenses incurred. I would greatly appreciate your assessment of this case and whether you are able to represent us in recovering these costs. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. Kind regards, Rebecca Chalot- Tokyo-Barcelona

Problems at airport
I began the process of claiming compensation and speaking to Qatar in March and it took until June to get the original flight and upgrade to business class refund. I have tried multiple times through live chat and then email to communicate with them and they have now said that they did not tell us to book new flights or that they would refund for this. They did not provide alternative travel or accommodation and at the airport we were told that we would have to find alternative travel and claim back.- Durban-Edinburgh

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing : Rebecca Ginette Chalot Verdugo to follow up on a refund request for booking reference 88PKVE . At the time, we submitted the refund request within the allowed period, more than one month ago. Due to the exceptional circumstances related to the war, we were unable to travel and therefore proceeded with the refund request accordingly the flight of Tokyo Haneda- Doha; Doha - Barcelona. As of today, we have not received any response or update regarding the status of this refund, only a refund of 67,14 euros... and we still not receive the full refund of the return flight of Monica Angelica Verdugo Gazdik and Rebecca Ginette Chalot Verdugo, so I think there is a mistake there.. We kindly ask you to provide us with an update on the current status of this request and an estimated timeframe for its resolution, as this matter has been pending for a considerable period. I try many times.. to call to your call center and not reply and then one time they hang off... Please find atached the proof that our request was accepted and also the receipt of the details concerning our flight back (in pink). We would appreciate your prompt attention to this issue and look forward to your response. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Yours faithfully, Rebecca- Tokyo-Barcelona

Technical problems
My original Qatar Airways flight from Dubai to London Gatwick via Doha was delayed due to a technical issue discovered during pushback. We remained on the aircraft while maintenance attempted to resolve the problem before eventually disembarking. As a result, I missed my connecting Qatar Airways flight from Doha to London. I then remained at Dubai International Airport for approximately 14 hours before Qatar Airways cancelled my original flight and rebooked me onto the same service the following day. Throughout the disruption there was very limited communication or clear updates from the airline, leaving passengers uncertain about what was happening for many hours. The overall handling of the disruption was extremely poor and this was the worst travel experience I have had. The cancellation delayed my arrival in London by approximately 24 hours and I also incurred additional expenses for food and refreshments while waiting at the airport.- Dubai-London

Substandard Customer Service from apparently the World's Favorite Airline
Dear Qatar Airways Customer Relations, I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding the handling of my damaged baggage claim following my flight from Heathrow to Doha on 8 January 2026, and the unacceptable poor level of customer service I have experienced throughout this process. I am also disappointed that my complaint appears to have been closed without being fully considered and without allowing me a reasonable opportunity to respond to your communication of 15 July 2026. As a senior NHS clinician, I was on call during that period and was therefore unable to respond immediately to your email or telephone calls. I believe it would have been reasonable and professional to allow sufficient time for a response before reaching a final decision. Whilst your correspondence states that Qatar Airways provided appropriate assistance throughout the handling of my claim, this does not reflect my experience as a customer. My concern is not simply the outcome of the damaged baggage claim, but the poor standard of customer service I experienced throughout the process. For almost six months, I was required to repeatedly chase for updates and responses, often receiving only automated replies. I was also asked on multiple occasions to resubmit documentation, including photographs, PPQ forms and compensation forms, despite having already provided the requested information. Most concerning, however, was the repeated failure to acknowledge and act upon my requests to raise a formal complaint. On at least five separate occasions, I clearly requested that my concerns be escalated through your formal complaints process. These requests were consistently ignored, met with automated responses, or otherwise not addressed. As a result, I was left with the impression that my concerns were not being taken seriously and that there was a reluctance to formally investigate the issues I had raised. As a customer, I would reasonably expect clear communication, timely responses and appropriate escalation when concerns are raised. Instead, I found myself carrying the burden of progressing the claim, repeatedly seeking updates and attempting to have my complaint formally recognised. Timeline of Events β’ 8 January 2026 β Flight from Heathrow to Doha. Suitcase damaged during journey. β’ 9 January 2026 β Submitted online baggage damage claim and received confirmation. β’ 11 January 2026 β Requested to provide photographs of damaged suitcase. β’ 13 January 2026 β Photographs submitted. β’ 13 January 2026 β Received confirmation that claim was being processed. β’ 13 January 2026 β Received a second request for the same photographs. β’ 20 January 2026 β Requested update; received automated response. β’ 23 January 2026 β Automated response received. β’ 2 February 2026 β Requested update; received automated response. β’ 10 February 2026 β Requested update; received automated response. β’ 11 February 2026 β Requested to complete a PPQ form again despite already having submitted it. Resubmitted PPQ form and received automated response. β’ 13 April 2026 β Resubmitted compensation form for a third time and requested escalation of my complaint for a third time. β’ 27 April 2026 β Resubmitted compensation form for a fourth time. β’ 7 May 2026 β Resubmitted compensation form for a fifth time. β’ 26 May 2026 β Requested update and resubmitted compensation form for a sixth time. Requested formal complaint escalation for a fourth time. Received automated response. β’ 12 June 2026 β Requested update and requested formal complaint escalation for a fifth time. Received automated response. β’ 19 June 2026 β Requested update; received automated response. β’ 29 June 2026 β Requested update; received automated response. β’ 6 July 2026 β Requested update; received automated response. In addition to the delays and repeated requests for information already supplied, I was advised that I would receive only a percentage of the value of my suitcase because I did not return the suitcase to Heathrow Airport. I live approximately 99 miles from Heathrow Airport, requiring a 4β6 hour round trip, together with approximately Β£25 in fuel costs and Β£15 parking charges, as well as the need to take time off work. I consider it wholly unreasonable for a customer to be expected to incur these costs and inconvenience in order to return a suitcase that was damaged by the airline. Furthermore, advising that failure to do so would reduce the compensation payable felt both unfair and intimidating. I also incurred Β£154 in telephone charges while contacting Qatar Airways staff in Doha on three separate occasions seeking assistance and updates regarding my claim. Unfortunately, I found those interactions dismissive and unhelpful. The overall experience has significantly damaged my perception of Qatar Airways. My January holiday was a special trip to celebrate my birthday, and I was genuinely excited about flying with your airline and visiting Qatar. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the outset. Upon arrival at Heathrow, we were advised that my seats had been cancelled but my partners had not. Although we had paid to sit together in the upper cabin, we then had to negotiate with your staff simply to secure seats together. On arrival in Doha, I discovered that my suitcase had been damaged. Subsequently, during travel between Doha and Muscat, and on the return journeys, there were repeated issues with flight bookings despite all flights having been paid for which were both stress and anxiety inducing. As a person with a hearing impairment, these continual issues caused considerable anxiety, particularly regarding whether I would be seated next to my partner despite having paid for allocated seating. The uncertainty and repeated problems throughout the journey caused unnecessary stress and detracted significantly from what should have been an enjoyable holiday. I therefore do not accept the assertion that an appropriate level of customer service was provided. A process that requires a customer to repeatedly chase responses, resubmit the same documentation, incur additional costs seeking assistance, and repeatedly request that a formal complaint be raised falls well below the standards customers are entitled to expect from a premium international airline. Whilst I acknowledge that compensation has now been paid in relation to the baggage claim, this does not address the wider concerns regarding the handling of the matter, the delays encountered, the repeated requests for information already supplied, and the persistent failure to properly acknowledge and investigate my formal complaint. I therefore ask Qatar Airways to review not only the baggage claim itself, but also the manner in which this matter was handled, particularly the repeated failure to acknowledge and progress my requests to raise a formal complaint. I would appreciate a response that addresses these concerns directly rather than simply reiterating the outcome of the baggage claim settlement. In light of the circumstances outlined above, I am seeking reimbursement of: β’ Β£125 β the full value of my damaged suitcase. β’ Β£154 β telephone costs incurred while attempting to progress the claim. I contact Qatar Customer Services yesterday and requested to speak to a manager. I was advised I would be contacted with in 20 minutes and 24 hours later, I am still waiting for a callback.Overall

We received an email from Qatar informing us that our flight time had changed from late evening to early morning. This meant an additional night in Milan. After contacting Qatar there was no accommodation/assistance provided. I've attached the receipts below but doesn't include the 30β¬ train ticket and 30β¬ taxi that we paid in cash. We had deliberately booked a 12 hour layover in doha as this was going to give us time to leave Doha International Airport and explore the city however due to the change in flight times we have missed this experience.- Milano-Auckland

Terrible customer service..
Subject: Formal Complaint and Request for Compensation Due to Flight Delay To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the significant delay of my Qatar Airways flight due to a technical issue. Passenger Name: MICHAEL ASARE DARKO Booking Reference (PNR): 7IWTWR Flight Number: QR 1423 Date of Travel: 24 Jun Route: Accra β Doha I arrived at the airport as scheduled and was informed that the flight had been delayed because of a technical problem. The delay began at approximately 15:10 and, as of 18:41 I was still waiting at the airport without a confirmed departure time. This delay has caused considerable inconvenience, stress, and disruption to my travel plans. I respectfully request that Qatar Airways investigate this matter and advise me of any compensation, reimbursement, or assistance available under your customer service policies and any applicable passenger rights regulations. I would appreciate a prompt response and a clear explanation regarding the delay and the compensation available. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Dear Qatar Airways team, This is my second attempt to reach you in email and had several attempts to reach you by whats app. Neither my email, nor my whats app messages have ever been answered by your teams. I know it is difficult times for your company, but it has been extremely difficult for us as well as passangers. Myself and my husband has travelled to Manila on 25th February from Budapest, Hungary by flight: QR202 to Doha, Qatar and from there to Manila by QR934. We were supposed to stay in the Philippines until 9th March 2026 and were supposed to leave by flight QR933 to Doha, but withouth any previous notice our flight was cancelled I noticed only on the Qatar website the the flight is cancelled. Based on this I rebooked our flight for the 12th March. On the 11th March this flight was cancelled (QR933). On the 11th March the Qatar system got completely broke, no bookings could be made, no phone lines were available, no emails were answered, whats app messages were also not answered. We basically stuck again in the Philppines without having any information about possible flights. We had no idea how and when we can get home but we did not have any money to buy new tickets from different airlines. On 18th March we could reach Qatar on phone, we were waiting to be put through 60 minutes and had a 20 minutes phone call. During this call we were informed that there are no availabilities until 28th March. After trying to fix this situation were were offered to be put on a relief flight on the 22nd March that can only take us up to BErlin, Germany instead of Budapest, Hungary. WE had to confirm we accept this scenario. We did accept it and we were ensured that this fligth would surely be launched so we bougth our local flight ticket from Purto Princesa to Manila, and also bought from our own pocket a Wizz Air flight ticket from Berlin,Germany to Budapest, Hungary. Despite the promises made on phone and rebookings to this relief flight (booking ref: 7WCX73) this flight has also been cancelled on 21st March. Again 1 day before our journey. As a result we again stuck in Philippines, this time in Manila. During this period we had to pay for several bookings at different hotel, trying to find out how we can survive on our budget. We even asked for help from the Hungarian Consulate, where we were informed that Qatar is a member of One World association (that has never ever been mentioned to us by Qatar) so it would have been the obligation of Qatar Airways to arrange us a relief lane at any of the One World associaton member airlines. The lack of this important information caused us terrible days, tremendous extra cost and fear of how we can get back to our home country. It would have been the task of Qatar Airways to solve the situation as quickly as possible, despite your company did not offer any solution for 3 weeks. When we went in person to Qatar office in Manila and faced them with the information we had regarding One World membership we were offered to be taken home by Philippine Airlines, and Finnish Airways. Hereby I am asking your company to investigate this issue immediately and asking you to come bact to me as soon as possible with a solution for compensating our emotional and financial loss. Looking forward to receive your prompt answer on this matter. Kind regards, Marianna Migh- Manila-Budapest

On 1 March 2026, Qatar Airways cancelled flights QR947 (SingaporeβDoha) and QR201 (DohaβBudapest), booking reference 7G8VSX. No rebooking, accommodation or meaningful assistance was provided. We were stranded at Singapore Changi Airport with two minor children. We received only a QR code and SGD 15 meal vouchers per person (Burger King). Customer service was unreachable by phone, chat and in person. We were forced to borrow money to purchase replacement JAL flights via Tokyo and Helsinki, arriving 4 days late. Qatar Airways responded with a generic letter (ref. CAS-734284-S5G0Y0) offering no compensation. We have since received 8 formal rejections from authorities in Hungary, Singapore and Qatar. The Hungarian Transport Authority explicitly stated in writing that claims must be pursued through legal action (ref. KΓFΓT/32595-1/2026/LKH, 15 June 2026).- Singapore-Budapest

We arrived in Doha on QR150 and were told there were no direct flights to Chengdu that day, and we'd have to wait two days for the next flight. However, there was a flight to Beijing three hours later, requiring a transfer to Chengdu. Not wanting to wait two days in Doha, we opted for the same-day trip to Beijing and then Chengdu, meaning we'd have to pay for our own Beijing-Chengdu flights.- Madrid-Jianyang

Problems at airport
Our original flight was booked from Perth, Australia, to Budapest, Hungary, with a transit in Doha, Qatar. I bought a hotel package with airport pickup for 3,607 AUD. Due to the Israel-Iran-US war, Qatar Airways cancelled all the flights to Budapest. I asked them to rebook our flight to Rome, Italy instead, without a confirmed onward connection to Budapest. Then I booked a hotel in Rome and bought a private flight ticket from Rome to Budapest, Hungary. Then the flight to Doha, Qatar, from Perth, Australia, was delayed by 4 hours on March 30 and because of this delay, we would have missed our connecting flight from Doha, Qatar, to Rome, Italy. Because of the delay, we lost our private hotel booking in Rome and our flight from Rome to Budapest. Qatar Airways booked a hotel for us in Doha for March 30. Then we asked Qatar Airways to rebook our flight from Doha to Rome through Paris for March 31 so that we could buy a private flight ticket from Paris and fly to Budapest. We had to book another hotel in Paris and then buy a new flight ticket from Paris to Budapest. Upon arriving in Paris our luggage didn't arrive so we had no access to our belongings. We had to manage with very limited items and repeatedly wash and dry clothing in the hotel room, including using a hairdryer for several hours. I asked the staff in Doha to deliver the luggage to Paris, but they sent it to Rome. We arrived in Budapest on the 1st of April, 6pm. Our luggage was later delivered to our home next week, but my wedding shoes went missing. We asked for a refund from Qatar Airways, but they only refunded the stopover in Doha, 237 AUD- Perth-Budapest

The flight was delayed due to short supply of deicing liquid at Schiphol airport and Qatar Airways couldnβt manage to get the plane de-iced on time. The response given by Qatar Airways for my claim to them earlier was an excuse of weather condition where as the weather conditions were fine that day and airplanes were flying but it was lack of preparation at Schiphol airport that caused this delay. This was also reported in global news and lot of passengers were impacted including myself due to this.- Amsterdam-Singapore
