Aggressive, untrustworthy staff
I was medical discriminate my check in gate staff. The staff member refused to take my boarding pass and passport when I asked for a manager. Then the staff member verbally assault me and began loudly shouting at me when I moved away from him and I was trying to talk to his colleague. I had to get the airport police involved. The the two staff members changed their story and the staff members who dismissed and assaulted me also use my race to attack me. Please be careful when flying Ryanair most staff are very good but some are not. This seems like the only method to make a complaint about Ryanair? Thank you llThen he and this colleague refused me entryOverall

If the flight was not delayed my son wouldnβt have run out of underwear or nappies β¦ the airport had no nappies in his size leading to him wetting himself numerous times.- Barcelona-Bristol

Just to explain the situation at Faro Airport: once you have gone through security and immigration, there isnβt a Ryanair help desk or assistance counter available. There is only a phone that you can use to contact a Ryanair representative. I called the Ryanair assistant through this phone, and she confirmed that our flight was indeed delayed. However, she said she did not know the reason for the delay because she did not have that information available to her. I also asked her about our right to food and drink vouchers. She confirmed that we are entitled to vouchers due to the length of the delay. She explained that when we purchase food or drinks, the eligible amount should be deducted from the bill, although she could not tell me exactly how much the voucher allowance would be.- Faro-Liverpool

Influence by other flights
Dear whom it may concern, I am writing to formally claim compensation under the UK Air Passenger Rights Regulations 2019 in relation to flight FR1940 from East Midlands Airport (EMA) to KrakΓ³w (KRK) on 12 August 2026. The flight was booked and ticketed as a flight to KrakΓ³w (KRK). However, due to the disruption, (electrical fault at Barcelona Airport) the aircraft was delayed and then diverted/rerouted to Katowice Airport (KTW) instead of the booked destination of KrakΓ³w. After arriving at Katowice, passengers had to wait for checked baggage and were subsequently transported by a bus arranged by Ryanair from Katowice to KrakΓ³w. Our scheduled arrival time in KrakΓ³w was approximately 23:00, whereas we did not reach our booked final destination, KrakΓ³w, until approximately 4:00 on 13 August 2026. This resulted in an arrival delay of approximately 5 hours at the final destination specified on our booking. There were four passengers on the booking: 2 adults, 1 child aged 3 and 1 child aged 2. I therefore request compensation of Β£220 per passenger, a total of: Β£880. Please assess this claim under the applicable UK Air Passenger Rights Regulations. In addition to this claim, as the airline had since rejected my eligibility for compensation, and not allowing us to complete the online compensation form on their website, I am also formally challenging Ryanair's decision to reject the claim for compensation on the basis that the disruption constituted an 'extraordinary circumstance'. The airline had since refused our compensation eligibility; reason given was "curfew at KrakΓ³w airport was missed following air traffic control restrictions suffered on previous sectors, outside of the control of Ryanair". I acknowledge that an external airport electrical fault may, depending on the circumstances, potentially constitute an extraordinary circumstance. However, under Article 5(3) of Regulation (EC) 261/2004, the existence of such an event does not automatically remove the airline's obligation to pay compensation. Ryanair must establish not only the existence of the alleged extraordinary circumstance, but also a direct causal connection between that circumstance and the delay, and that the delay could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. At the gate, some passengers were informed that the flight was going to arrive in KrakΓ³w instead of Katowice (It was not a formal communication made clear to all passengers but rather a word of mouth passed on by travellers waiting for further information). This was later communicated by a pilot immediately after departing, that KrakΓ³w Airport would be unavailable at the expected arrival time as it will be closed by the time we land and that the aircraft would therefore be diverted to Katowice. I therefore request that Ryanair reconsider its decision and address the following points: Please provide the precise details of the alleged electrical fault at Barcelona Airport, including when it occurred, how long it affected operations and how it directly caused the delay to my flight. Please identify which part of my approximately five-hour delay was directly attributable to the electrical fault and which part resulted from the subsequent operational decision to divert the flight to Katowice. Please confirm and provide evidence when Ryanair first became aware that KrakΓ³w Airport would be unavailable at the scheduled arrival time. Please explain what reasonable measures Ryanair considered and implemented to minimise the resulting delay. Please confirm and provide evidence whether alternative flights, alternative aircraft, alternative routings or flights operated by other carriers were considered in order to transport passengers to KrakΓ³w at the earliest reasonably achievable time. If such alternatives were considered and rejected, please explain why they were not reasonably available or why using them would have constituted an intolerable sacrifice for Ryanair. Please explain why there was no transparent and clear communication to all passengers at the gate, informing that the flight will be rerouted to a different city. Please explain why Katowice was selected as the alternative airport and provide the basis on which Ryanair considers that this represented the earliest reasonable means of getting passengers to their booked final destination. Under the principles established by the Court of Justice of the European Union, an air carrier relying on extraordinary circumstances must demonstrate that it took appropriate measures and deployed the resources reasonably available to it to avoid the consequences of the disruption, including reasonable and timely rerouting where possible. Furthermore, the fact that passengers were diverted to Katowice does not change the fact that KrakΓ³w was the booked final destination. The time at which passengers actually reached the booked destination following the transfer is relevant when determining the extent of the delay. I therefore request that Ryanair reassess my entitlement to compensation under Article 7 of Regulation 261/2004/UK261 based on my actual arrival at KrakΓ³w. I also request reimbursement of any reasonable expenses incurred as a direct result of prolonged delay. This totals to Β£20. Although vouchers of Β£3.50 per passenger were offered by the airline following the second delay notification received on the airport screens, prior to this taking place we have already purchased some food, drinks and snacks at WHSmith immediately after the initial notification of a flight delay appeared on screens at which point no vouchers were issued (We were traveling with small children and had to prepare just in case hence why we acted immediately - spent around Β£20 paid with a card for which we can provide supporting evidence for if required I.e. screenshot/bank statement and exact time this was purchased). I am requesting for Ryanair to: (a) reconsider the refusal and pay the applicable UK261 compensation together with reimbursement of my reasonable expenses; total of Β£900; OR (b) provide a detailed evidence-based explanation addressing each of the points above, including the precise causal relationship between the alleged extraordinary circumstance and the full duration of my delay and the reasonable mitigation measures considered by Ryanair. For reference I have retained the booking confirmation, boarding passes, evidence of the flight disruption and details of the transportation arranged by Ryanair. I look forward to your substantive response rather than a general reference to βextraordinary circumstancesβ. Yours faithfully, Jessica Chmura Booking reference: [Y3RYQJ] Flight: FR1940 Date: 12 August 2026 Route: EMA β KRK Passengers: 4 Email: Jessica.zemanek26@hotmail.com- East Midlands-Krakow

The captain initially told passengers that delay was due to staff shortage and it may last up to three hours. After three hours passengers were told there was no available departure slot and we should wait another hour and a half. After one hour we departed from the airport. The doors were open in Chania at 23:00. During the delay no food and water was provided to the passengers. The crew told us that there is not enough for everybody, so they will not give to anyone. The were selling water and gummy bears. They told us that there is no other food. During the flight sandwiches and lasagna and drinks (including alcohol) was offered for buying.- Sofia-Chania

Flight Cancellation β β¬259 Refund & Expense Reimbursement
Dear Ryanair Customer Support, I am writing to formally complain about the cancellation of my flight FR5017 from Catania (CTA) to Verona (VRN) on 11 August 2026. Ryanair informed me that the flight was cancelled due to volcanic ash. As a result of the cancellation, I had to arrange alternative transportation myself in order to reach my final destination, Bolzano. The alternative travel expenses I incurred were: * Catania β Messina: β¬9 * Messina β Napoli: β¬38 * Napoli β Bologna: β¬61 * Bologna β Bolzano: β¬61 Total alternative travel expenses: β¬169. The original Ryanair ticket cost β¬90. I am therefore requesting: 1. A full refund of my cancelled Ryanair ticket: β¬90 2. Reimbursement of my reasonable alternative travel expenses: β¬169 Total amount requested: β¬259. I have attached the Ryanair cancellation notification and the relevant tickets/receipts as evidence of these expenses. I respectfully ask Ryanair to review my complaint and reimburse the eligible amount. If any part of my claim is refused, please provide the specific reason and the applicable rule or policy supporting the decision. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response. Kind regards, Hameedul Hassan Flight FR5017 Catania β Verona 11 August 2026Overall
My flight was cancelled at short notice due to volcanic ash, and I had to arrange and pay for alternative transportation myself to reach my final destination in Bolzano. I incurred β¬169 in additional travel expenses and am also requesting a refund of my β¬

Flight FR5084 from Paphos to Chania on 26 July 2026 was not delayed solely because of Air Traffic Control restrictions. All passengers had already boarded the aircraft when we were informed of an initial Air Traffic Control delay of approximately one hour. While we were waiting on board, the aircraft developed a technical fault and engineers worked on the aircraft for approximately 20β30 minutes until the issue was resolved. After the repair, we were informed that the aircraft had lost its departure slot and that we would have to wait a further 3β4 hours due to Air Traffic Control restrictions. Had the technical issue not occurred, the aircraft would have departed after the initial ATC delay and would not have missed its departure slot. We remained confined on board for several hours with little information, without food or water for a significant period. We were also told that passengers who chose to leave the aircraft would not be allowed to re-board and would lose their flight. I therefore request a full review of the operational timeline, as the technical issue directly contributed to the overall delay and I do not agree that the delay was caused exclusively by Air Traffic Control.- Paphos-Chania

Subject: EC261 Complaint β Ryanair FR6319 Shannon to Warsaw Modlin β 10 August 2026 I wish to submit a complaint regarding Ryanair flight FR6319 from Shannon (SNN) to Warsaw Modlin (WMI) on 10 August 2026. Booking reference: F3NRST Ryanair EU261 Compensation Request ID: 79634545 Number of passengers: 3 The flight was scheduled to depart Shannon at approximately 08:50 and arrive at Warsaw Modlin at approximately 12:50. The flight was severely delayed and we eventually arrived at approximately 01:10 on 11 August, more than 12 hours after the scheduled arrival time. Ryanair has rejected our EC261 compensation claim on the basis that the operating aircraft suffered a bird strike. I acknowledge that a bird strike may constitute an extraordinary circumstance under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004. However, my complaint concerns whether Ryanair took all reasonable measures to avoid or substantially reduce the resulting delay. During the disruption, Ryanair informed passengers that the bird strike had occurred βearlier todayβ. Despite this, our flight was progressively delayed from its original 08:50 departure to approximately 13:00, then 15:00, then 21:00, and ultimately arrived more than 12 hours after its scheduled arrival time. Ryanairβs rejection simply states that the operating aircraft suffered a bird strike and that this was outside Ryanairβs control. It does not explain what reasonable measures were taken during the many hours following the incident to minimise the delay. I therefore respectfully request that the circumstances be investigated and that Ryanair be required to demonstrate: 1. when and on which flight the bird strike occurred; 2. when the affected aircraft arrived at Shannon; 3. when the technical inspection commenced and was completed; 4. what damage, if any, was identified; 5. when the aircraft was declared airworthy/returned to service; 6. what operational measures Ryanair considered or implemented to minimise the delay; 7. whether replacement aircraft, aircraft substitution, rerouting or other operational alternatives were considered and, if not used, why; 8. whether the entire delay of more than 12 hours was directly attributable to the bird strike. Given the exceptionally long delay, I do not believe Ryanairβs statement that a bird strike occurred, without further evidence regarding the reasonable measures taken afterwards, is sufficient to establish that the entire delay could not have been avoided or substantially reduced. I therefore request an assessment of our entitlement to compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004. The claim concerns three passengers. Based on the distance of this intra-EU flight, the compensation sought is β¬400 per passenger, β¬1,200 in total. I can provide Ryanairβs rejection, booking confirmation, boarding passes, screenshots of Ryanairβs successive delay notifications and its notification confirming that the bird strike occurred earlier that day. Kind regards, Agnieszka Kuc- Shannon-Warsaw

Original app notification stated the delay was βdue to a minor technical issue with the aircraftβ. Later they denied the delay was their fault and claimed air traffic control to be at fault. Delayed flight until 22.15. Then changed the time to 21.00 with less than 10 minutes notice. Mad dash across the airport and we were the last people to board. Then had to sit on the aircraft for a further 1h 10, to add additional fuel as we had to take a longer route home which was explained to us over the onboard tannoy.- Malaga-East Midlands

Luggage fee was abusive, no real motive
On 03.08.2026 , at Malta Airport, Check-in agent 3451 ROBBED us of 120 euro, claiming our luggage was oversized. I filled an online form requesting to be contacted by your company to sort things over. Obviously, nothing happened... This is a disgrace. Not only that I will never use your services again, but I will advice EVERYONE I know (not many people, just about 15.000) to avoid your services by all means. Oh, I almost forgot, the plane took off with 1 hr delay, and we had to wait almost another hour to retrieve our luggage...This company should lose its flying license, really.Overall

Technical problems
Hi! I need to have additional proof that my delay was an exceptional case, it does not seem like it! Essentialy, the delay of my flight was caused by the late arrival of the aircraft from a previous rotation. We saw when our plane arrived from Krakow, 4 hours late. Ryanair claims is due to a lighthing strike earlier in the MORNING. However, I would like to point out that several other Ryanair flights operated during the same period, and it is unclear whether they were all affected by the same extraordinary circumstance (all of the planes were affected by a lightning?) A general reference to a lightning strike does not automatically prove that my specific flight could not have been operated on time. The lightning strike reportedly occurred many hours before my scheduled departure, leaving sufficient time for Ryanair to consider reasonable measures to minimize the delay, such as aircraft rotation changes or other operational solutions. I therefore request that Ryanair provide specific evidence showing how this particular lightning strike directly affected my flight and why no reasonable measures could have avoided a delay of more than three hours upon arrival.- Vienna-Krakow

Influence by other flights
I was told by the airline at the airport to only file a claim online. At first the flight was overbooked and they werenβt sure I would be able to board. Then the plane was over 2 hours delayed to take off. Then we were last minute rerouted to Katowice instead of krakow because the tarmac was being re-paved. How did the airline not know this during takeoff? We landed in Katowice around 3am. We arrived to Krakow at 5:30 am by a bus provided by the airline. I was supposed to arrive in Krakow at 1am. We were 4.5 hours delayed to reach my destination all in all.- Lisbon-Krakow

Strike
The 8th of May I received an email in which Ryanair told me the flight of 12 May with departure time 16:25 was cancelled. I could rebook the flight to the 14th of May, but because of the cancelled flight I had to make costs in Barcelona for 2 days. Unfortunately there was no cheap last minute booking possible for the hotel. After the trip to Barcelona I reached out to Ryanair for more than 10 times. I called and got an AI bot for most of the time (that didn't help me at all), the chatbot on their site, the expenses claim (that they closed way too soon!), ... It was a dissaster to communicate with this company...- Barcelona-Charleroi
