At first the company delayed the journey for airplane technical issue and from 14:05 the journey delayed to 15:40. After that it was delayed to 16:20 and then to 16:40 ( there might be a slight inaccuracies) but they did not mention the reason for the next delays. In the end we embarked later than 16:40. If I am correct we reached Chania about 18:45 if not later.

Claim escalated to airline

No reason given

I, Emanuele Turi, a passenger on flight FR9903 of 08/10/2026, hereby claim the compensation provided for in Article 7(1)(b) of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, together with reimbursement of the expenses I incurred, on the following grounds. 1. FACTS - Scheduled departure: 19:35 (Rome time); scheduled arrival: 21:50 (Lisbon time). - Actual departure: [00:50] (Rome time), after passengers had been kept on board with the aircraft stationary for over one hour. - Actual arrival, doors opened: [02:10] (Lisbon time), a delay of 5 hours (we stayed on the airplane for more tna 30 minutes with the door open), well above the 3-hour threshold (CJEU, Joined Cases C-402/07 and C-432/07 Sturgeon; C-452/13 Germanwings). - Flight distance: approx. 1,850 km, so the compensation due is EUR 400. 2. A DELAY KNOWN SINCE THE MORNING AND NEVER MANAGED Ryanair automated rejection attributes the delay to "air traffic control restrictions due to adverse weather conditions at Fiumicino airport". This statement is generic and unsupported by any evidence. The available facts instead show a clear failure to organise on your part: - The aircraft assigned to the flight (EI-EKG) was already delayed on its first flight of the day (FR1171). The delay grew on every subsequent sector (FR3946, FR3947, FR4005, FR4004) until flight FR9903, as shown by the flight history. The problem was therefore known and foreseeable many hours in advance. - Although Rome Fiumicino is one of Ryanair operating bases, no alternative measure was taken, such as a replacement aircraft or a revised rotation. Instead, the delay was allowed to build up throughout the entire day. - I was first notified of the delay only at 17:35, when I was already on my way to the airport, as shown by the photo taken at 17:20 at the Fiumicino long-stay car park. By then the aircraft's delay had been known for hours. - The departure time was postponed repeatedly during the evening (19:35, 21:30, 22:10, 22:25, 23:10), without clear information and without the delay ever being contained. 3. INADEQUATE CARE Article 9(1)(a) of the Regulation requires meals and refreshments in reasonable relation to the waiting time. For a wait of about 5 hours, in the evening and past dinner time, I was given a single EUR 4 voucher, valid only at selected outlets. This amount is in no way consistent with prices at Fiumicino airport, where EUR 4 is not enough even for a sandwich and a drink, and cannot be considered adequate care for a wait of this length. No additional meal voucher was offered, nor the opportunity to make free communications (Article 9(2)). I therefore had to pay for food and drinks myself, amounting to EUR 3.10 as per the attached receipt. Moreover, due to the arrival after 1 a.m., I had to take a taxi from Lisbon airport, at a cost of EUR 7.70 (receipt attached).

My Golf Clubs were delayed, I missed the transfer to the hotel so took a Uber, Then called all day to get an update on clubs with no answer. I was booked onto a top golf course on the arrival day so had to hire a set of golf clubs and buy a golf glove, it spoilt the experience for me, thankfully one of our party lent me there shoes. I decided to go up to the airport on the foloowing morning to try and find my clubs, attached Uber receipt. Thankfully the ryanair desk was open and the lady was very helpfull and within 20 minutes brought out my clubs. I returned to the hotel Uber receipt enclosed. The help desk at the airport was very helpful and organised however updates aon the whereabouts of the clubs was poor. Mnay Thanks Philip Callard

Our initial flight FR4584 (Porto to Barcelona on 03/10/2026) was delayed by over 2.5 hours, landing in Barcelona Terminal 2 at 18:21 instead of 15:55. Due to this substantial delay, it was physically impossible for us to transfer to Terminal 1 in time for our self-transfer connecting flight VY8654 to Prague (Vueling, departure 17:40). We reached the Vueling desk at 19:05 and were denied boarding due to gate closure. As a direct result of Ryanair's delay, our entire journey was ruined, resulting in direct unrecoverable losses: 1. Missed Vueling flight BCN-PRG (€255.98) 2. Unused Hotel ILF in Prague (€85.54) 3. Non-refundable RENT plus car rental in Prague (1,855.66 CZK / ~€73.50) Ryanair automatically rejected our initial EU261 compensation claim claiming the landing delay was under 3 hours. We are requesting EU261 statutory compensation and full reimbursement of direct financial damages.

Running up and down for so long with luggage and two small kids! Then they said we can't get on board! Please note that I was sick at that day and no one cared for my condition!

My flight from Barcelona to Bristol was scheduled for 17:05 it was delayed numerous times, subsequently we boarding our flight at 21:30. The pilot announced theses delays were due to staffing issues once we boarded the flight. We landed back in Bristol at 23:00. We were provided €4 vouchers, which did not cover the price of any food/drink in the gates WY which we were confined to. Airline staff forced us to pay for luggage despite the luggage complying with your online criteria. Additionally the luggage used did not change from that used to flight from Bristol to Barcelona and no issues were raised in Bristol suggesting we were complaint with your criteria. We were travelling home to celebrate my partner’s birthday with family and had to cancel the celebration as a result. My partner suffers from asthma and anxiety can trigger his asthma, due to this he had an acute asthma attack as a result of uncertainty about our ability to make it home. There was a lack of communication from staff and the airline making the situation extremely difficult

Fw: General complaint From: javell singh Sent: 23 September 2026 13:58 To: Odr@ryanair.com ; Ryanairen@ryanair.com Subject: General complaint My name is Javell reynard campbell singh My contact number is 07493537825 Flight numbers: * K3PBHT * EV56XF Dear Ryanair Customer Service / Customer Care Team, I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding my recent experience travelling with Ryanair from Malta to PoznaΕ„, Poland. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way my journey was handled, particularly the significant flight delay, the lack of meaningful assistance when I arrived in PoznaΕ„, the treatment I received after explaining that I have a disability and additional needs, the further difficulties I experienced during my onward journey, and the substantial financial loss I suffered as a direct result of the disruption. I am asking Ryanair to investigate the circumstances fully and provide appropriate compensation and reimbursement for the financial losses I incurred. 1. Significant flight delay My flight from Malta to PoznaΕ„ was scheduled to depart at approximately 7:45 a.m., with an expected arrival in PoznaΕ„ at approximately 10:00 a.m. The flight was repeatedly delayed. I was initially informed of a delay from 7:45 a.m. to approximately 8:45 a.m., then to 9:45 a.m., and subsequently to after 10:00 a.m. As a result, the delay significantly affected my onward travel arrangements and ultimately caused me to miss my onward flight. While I was still in Malta, I was informed by the support team at the airport that Ryanair would have arrangements in place to assist passengers affected by the disruption. I therefore travelled to PoznaΕ„ expecting Ryanair to provide appropriate assistance and/or alternative arrangements. Unfortunately, that did not happen. 2. Lack of assistance after arriving in PoznaΕ„ When I arrived in PoznaΕ„, I attempted to obtain assistance regarding my disrupted journey. I explained to staff what had happened and that I needed to get back to the UK. I was informed that there were no flights available to the UK until the following Wednesday. This was particularly distressing because I was travelling on a Sunday night/Monday morning and my son's birthday was on 15 September. I had originally been due to return home on 14 September and had made it clear that it was extremely important for me to get home in time for my son's birthday. I also explained that I have a disability and additional needs and that I required assistance. Despite explaining this, I was told, in substance, that the matter was not PoznaΕ„ Airport's responsibility and that it was Ryanair's responsibility. I was left feeling that I was being passed between organisations without anyone taking responsibility for helping me. 3. Treatment at PoznaΕ„ airport I also experienced an incident at the security gates which I found particularly concerning and upsetting. I was subjected to testing for explosives. I appreciate that airport security procedures may be necessary, but given the circumstances and the fact that I was already experiencing considerable difficulty obtaining assistance, this added significantly to my distress. I am asking Ryanair to investigate this incident and establish exactly what occurred, including whether any records relating to the security procedure are available. 4. Apparent unequal treatment when seeking an alternative flight One of the most concerning aspects of my experience was what happened when I approached customer/support staff to try to find a way home. I was told that there were no flights available to the UK. However, shortly afterwards I saw another group of passengers being provided with tickets and assistance. I approached those passengers to ask how they had managed to obtain flights. I was advised to leave the area temporarily and return while staff had a conversation regarding the situation. When I returned approximately two minutes later, the same person who had previously told me that there were no flights to the UK then offered me an alternative journey at a cost of approximately Β£580. This was extremely confusing and upsetting. I would like Ryanair to explain why I was initially told that there were no available flights when alternative travel was subsequently offered to me. I also ask Ryanair to investigate whether passengers affected by the same disruption were treated consistently and whether I was provided with the assistance to which I was entitled. 5. Alternative journey and the additional Β£580 expense I could not afford to pay Β£580 for alternative travel. I was ultimately forced to ask members of my family to provide me with the money because I was faced with the possibility of being stranded in Poland and missing my son's birthday. I then travelled from PoznaΕ„ to Warsaw and from Warsaw to London Heathrow. The alternative journey was particularly problematic because London Heathrow was not the airport I had originally intended to travel to. My original Ryanair travel arrangements were for me to return to the UK via London Stansted, where my car was parked. Instead, because of the circumstances I had been placed in, I ended up travelling to London Heathrow. This created further significant inconvenience and financial loss. 6. Further problems at Warsaw The treatment and assistance I received during my onward journey at Warsaw Airport was also extremely disappointing. After everything I had already experienced in PoznaΕ„, I was expecting the remainder of my journey to be handled with some level of care and consideration. Unfortunately, I found the treatment I received at Warsaw to be very poor and would like Ryanair to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assistance provided to me there. I will provide any further details, documentation or evidence I have regarding this part of the journey. 7. Additional Β£130 cost travelling from Heathrow to Stansted When I eventually arrived at London Heathrow, I was still a considerable distance from where I needed to be. My car had originally been parked at Stansted Airport because that was the airport from which I was originally due to travel. I therefore had to arrange and pay approximately Β£130 to travel from Heathrow Airport to Stansted Airport simply to retrieve my vehicle. This was another expense that I would not have incurred had my original journey been completed as planned or had I been provided with appropriate alternative arrangements to Stansted. I am therefore seeking reimbursement of this Β£130 in addition to the Β£580 alternative travel cost. 8. Additional parking charges at Stansted Because the disruption caused me to arrive significantly later than originally planned, I also incurred additional charges at the car park where my vehicle had been left at Stansted Airport. I was charged late fees because I was unable to collect my vehicle within the originally expected timeframe. These charges were another direct consequence of the disruption to my journey. I will provide the relevant parking receipt and/or evidence of the additional charges and request reimbursement of these costs as part of my claim. 9. Incident involving cabin crew member on the Warsaw–London flight I would also like to make a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred on my flight from Warsaw to London Heathrow. The cabin crew member involved was a stewardess named Abigail, as I understood her name to be. During the flight, she was walking down the aisle offering drinks to passengers. I was sitting in the aisle-side position, closest to the area through which she was walking. The two passengers sitting next to me were asleep, while I was awake. When the stewardess reached my row, she appeared to look towards the sleeping passengers and then continued walking without offering me a drink. I then politely said, "Excuse me, please, madam." Instead of responding in what I considered to be a respectful manner, she turned around and said, "What?" The manner in which this was said was, in my view, unnecessarily abrupt and disrespectful. There were other passengers nearby who witnessed the interaction. I explained that I was not trying to cause any difficulty. I simply wanted to ask whether there was a toilet at the front or rear of the aircraft because I had seen her walking through the aisle and did not want to disturb her or get in her way. I was then told that the toilet at the front was for business class only and that I could wait. It was not simply the information that was given to me that caused me distress; it was the manner in which I felt I was spoken to. I found the interaction humiliating and extremely upsetting, particularly after everything I had already experienced during the journey. I have ADHD, and the interaction affected me significantly. I continued to think about the incident for days afterwards because I could not understand why I had been spoken to in that manner when I had asked a simple and polite question. I would therefore like Ryanair to investigate this interaction and, if possible, identify the relevant crew member and obtain any available information regarding the incident. 10. Disability and additional needs I want to emphasise that I specifically informed staff that I have a disability and additional needs. Despite making this clear, I did not feel that my circumstances were treated with the level of care, understanding or assistance that I reasonably expected. I would therefore like Ryanair to treat this as a formal complaint concerning the handling of a passenger with a disability/additional needs. I ask that the matter is reviewed by the appropriate team and that I receive a written explanation of what assistance should have been provided to me in these circumstances and whether Ryanair considers that the assistance I received met its obligations. 11. Overall financial impact The financial impact of this ordeal has been substantial. At a minimum, I have incurred: Β£580 for the alternative journey from Poland to the UK; approximately Β£130 travelling from Heathrow to Stansted to retrieve my vehicle; additional late parking charges at Stansted; and any other reasonable expenses directly resulting from the disruption. The Β£580 alone was money I did not have available. I had to ask my family to provide me with the money because I was desperate to get home and did not want to remain stranded in Poland. I should not have been placed in a situation where I had to rely on family members for hundreds of pounds simply to complete my journey home. 12. Impact on me This entire experience has caused me an enormous amount of stress and distress. What should have been a straightforward journey home became an extremely difficult ordeal involving repeated delays, missed travel arrangements, difficulty obtaining assistance, additional flights, significant unexpected costs, travelling to an airport that was not my intended destination, further travel between airports, additional parking charges and interactions with staff that I found deeply upsetting. Most importantly, I had been trying to get home because it was my son's birthday on 15 September. I was extremely concerned that I would not be able to get home in time and that concern added considerably to the distress I was already experiencing. I believe that the overall handling of my situation needs to be properly investigated. 13. Resolution requested I am asking Ryanair to: Investigate the circumstances surrounding the substantial delay to my Malta–PoznaΕ„ flight. Confirm whether I am entitled to compensation under the applicable passenger-rights regulations and, if so, pay the compensation due. Reimburse the Β£580 I was required to pay for alternative travel from PoznaΕ„ via Warsaw to London Heathrow. Reimburse the approximately Β£130 I subsequently had to pay to travel from Heathrow to Stansted in order to retrieve my vehicle. Reimburse the additional parking charges I incurred at Stansted as a direct result of the disruption. Reimburse any other reasonable expenses directly resulting from the disruption where supported by receipts. Investigate why I was initially told that there were no flights available to the UK when I subsequently received an alternative travel option. Investigate whether passengers affected by the same disruption were treated consistently. Investigate the assistance I received after informing staff that I have a disability and additional needs. Investigate the incident at PoznaΕ„ airport involving the security/explosives testing. Investigate the treatment I received at Warsaw Airport. Investigate the interaction I had with the cabin crew member named Abigail on the Warsaw–London Heathrow flight. Review whether my disability and additional needs were appropriately considered throughout the disruption. Provide a written explanation of what alternative arrangements and duty of care Ryanair considers should have been provided to me. Provide me with a full written response addressing each of the issues raised in this complaint. I have retained, or will provide where available, my booking information, boarding passes, alternative flight documentation, receipts, parking documentation and other evidence relating to the incident. I would like this complaint to be treated as a formal claim for compensation and reimbursement of expenses, as well as a formal complaint concerning the handling of my disability/additional needs and the treatment I received during my journey. I have experienced significant financial loss and considerable distress as a result of this incident. I am therefore asking Ryanair to investigate the matter properly and provide a substantive response to each of the issues raised rather than a generic response regarding the original flight delay. I look forward to receiving your response. Yours faithfully, Javell Reynard Campbell Singh

We arrived at Athens (ATH) at approximately 20:55 local time, instead of the scheduled 17:20 – a delay of about 3 hours 35 minutes. Around 12:50 (Bratislava time), the Ryanair app notified us that flight FR5889 was delayed "due to a minor technical issue with the aircraft earlier today", with a new estimated departure of 15:20. Around 15:00, a further update said the operations team was working to reduce the delay. Around 15:20, the app stated the aircraft was still on its way to Bratislava and the new estimated departure was 17:10 (estimated arrival 20:30). At no point on the day did Ryanair mention air traffic control. Only when rejecting our compensation claim (ID 82106568, 8 Oct 2026) did Ryanair claim the delay was caused by ATC restrictions – contradicting its own notifications. Screenshots attached. We received two meal vouchers of €4 each (€8 total), which was not reasonable for a wait of over 3 hours at airport prices. We paid an additional €15.20 out of pocket for food and drinks (receipt attached). We waited more than 3.5 hours at Bratislava airport and arrived in Athens late in the evening, losing most of the first day of our vacation.

Technical problems

Ryanair had cancelled our flight after a 4 hour delay, saying it was due to weather conditions, however, the pilot had already told us that it was a system failure with ryanair. Other flights were coming and going from Barcelona airport with no problems so it was not due to weather. We had to wait 15 or more hours in the airport with no food or drink or accommodation. Ryanair did not supply us with any food or drink vouchers or accommodation, the vending machines didn't work, and we had low funds only for 1 drink as it was expensive.. Ryanair had no explanation except kept trying to say it was weather problems and they couldn't answer me when I told them that other flights have been leaving the airport so they had no excuse. I have tried to make a formal complaint and it is impossible to do so.

Due to the delay of our baggage (File Reference: TFSFR17228), my husband and I were left at the holiday destination on Tenerife in high temperatures with only the heavy, warm clothes and winter shoes we wore on the plane. We had no change of clothing, no toiletries, and no footwear suitable for the climate. Furthermore, our baggage contained vital daily medications and our phone chargers. Because of the delay, we had to urgently purchase a replacement phone charger, essential medicines, and personal hygiene products (shaving kit, makeup remover, and sun protection). To maintain basic comfort and health, we were forced to buy a minimum amount of summer clothes, swimsuits, a beach bag, and beach shoes for both of us. Additionally, since the hotel restaurant enforces a strict dress code for dinner, we had to purchase appropriate outfits and neat evening shoes, as it was impossible to attend dinner in winter boots or beach flip-flops. All expenses were reasonable, kept to a minimum, and strictly limited to urgent daily needs for two people. I kindly request a full reimbursement of the attached receipts totaling

The check in guy refused to give his name but badge number 389284 picked me and my sister and one other out of the sold out plane to put our bags in to check. We put them in they fit he said no more then come back to say we have to pay Β£70. We asked what this is for he refused to answer and blatantly ignored us when we were asking. Then told us to get out the way as others needed to board and refused to explain anything to us. We said well pay and he ignored us again and called police and security who have said this is not the first time they’ve had to deal with a situation like this with this check in guy. We travelled as a family of 14 and he public embarrassed us by calling 4 police members and two security members again with no reason why he would not let us board the plane. Even now we still don’t know why we could not board and we got escorted out and said see if you can get another flight. We asked the police why this has happened and all we got was its politics to do with the airport.

Yes. It caused me inconveniences because the control was very difficult to manage. When I press to go to the left, it goes to the right and this is quiet dangerous for me. The damage to the control panel has also made the chair unable to pass through doors I normally pass through because it's bent outward. I filed a PIR at the airport in person and photographs were taken of the damages done.

During the flight, we were already seated and flying on the aircraft and had not been given any indication that anything was wrong. We were then unexpectedly informed that the flight was being redirected to Madrid, with no prior warning or clear explanation. This was especially frustrating because Madrid is not even in the same country as our original destination, Portugal. We were originally supposed to arrive in Porto at approximately 09:15, but due to the diversion and subsequent delay, we only arrived in Porto around 15:30–16:00, as also supported by the timestamp of the food purchased at the airport after arrival. This shows that the delay was significant and caused us to lose almost the entire day. After landing in Madrid, passengers were not allowed to disembark and we were left sitting on the aircraft for several hours, over three hours in total. During this time, there was only one toilet available, no proper updates about what was happening, and no clear information on whether or when we would be leaving again. We also had no Wi-Fi or internet connection, meaning we could not properly check for alternative travel options or make other arrangements ourselves. The conditions on board were very uncomfortable. We were left sitting in the aircraft with no air conditioning, very limited facilities, and no meaningful communication from the airline. Despite the long delay and circumstances, no care was provided by the airline during or after the disruption. We were not offered any complimentary food or water. If passengers wanted anything to eat or drink, we were expected to pay for it ourselves. The airline provided only silence, limited information, and paid amenities. After several hours of waiting with no clear timeline, we were eventually told that we would be flying to Porto again, but again with very little information or certainty about the timing. Upon arrival in Porto, we went directly to the Ryanair help/customer service desk to ask for assistance. However, we received no actual help or support. We were simply given a paper instructing us to submit a claim, which is what I am doing now. The incident significantly inconvenienced us. We were supposed to arrive in Porto at 09:15 and have the full day there, but instead we arrived around 15:30–16:00 and effectively lost the entire day due to this unforeseen and poorly explained delay. Overall, this was an extremely poor and stressful experience. We were given no prior warning about the diversion, very limited communication throughout, no opportunity to leave the aircraft during a long wait, no internet access to explore alternatives, no free food or water, and no meaningful assistance upon arrival. Given the significant delay and the way passengers were treated throughout the disruption, I believe this situation clearly warrants compensation.

Compensation for cancellation and hotel booking

It was cancelled because of thunderstorms which is understandable. We booked on the next available one which unfortunately was 3 days later. Therefore had to get a hotel for 3 nights. We were told Ryan air would only cover 3star hotels. When searching there were none of those left so have had to fork out Β£740.74 of our own money to stay 3 extra nights through no fault of our own. The fact we are being offered zero compensation for this is an absolute joke. We don’t have the luxury of being able to afford an extra Β£740.74 in our daily lives not to even add on all food etc we’ve had to buy the extra days we’ve been here. We would like some form of compensation for this ASAP.

Claim escalated to airline

Strike

"My flight FR8298 on 22.09.2026 was cancelled. Ryanair immediately rejected my claim online, citing an ATC strike. I request the NEB to verify if the cancellation of this specific daytime flight (16:40) was directly unavoidable due to the strike, or if it was an operational decision by the airline."

We flew from CRL to OPO airport early in the morning. We were flying above OPO airport for over an hour, already past the time we were supposed to land, and only then did an announcement get made that we were not going to land at OPO, and instead circle for another 45 minutes. No water or food was provided, or additional information. After another hour in the air, we were diverted to MADRID airport, not even within our final destination country. Once we landed in Madrid we were hours delayed, given NO information on when we would be able to take off, or what the procedure was. We were again given NO food or water. We were kept on a tiny flight with no fresh air or information whether we would be staying in Madrid, exiting the plane, or keep flying. After 2+ hours of sitting on the tarmac with no food, water or information, we were abruptly told we would fly to OPO again and try to land. This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a delay. The staff was extremely unhelpful, we were overheating, we were thirsty and hungry. Overall we felt like we were treated extremely badly during this flight and delay, and denied basic needs for such a long delay. We arrived at our final destination after 15:00, when we were supposed to be there by 9:30. We lost an entire day of our much needed and hard spent money on holiday.

Subject: EU261 Compensation Claim - FR8385 - 29.09.2025 - BUD-BCN - 4h delay + tarmac confinement Dear Ryanair Customer Service, I am writing to claim compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 for flight FR8385 from Budapest (BUD) to Barcelona (BCN) on 29 September 2025. Booking reference: [ÍRD BE A TIΓ‰D, pl. X7Y8Z9] Passengers: [Nevek, pl. Kovacs Janos, Kovacs Anna] Scheduled departure: 09:20 BUD Actual departure: 13:26 BUD Scheduled arrival: 11:55 BCN Actual arrival: 15:54 BCN Total delay at arrival: 3 hours 59 minutes. We were boarded on time and then kept inside the aircraft for approximately 4 hours on the tarmac in Budapest without being allowed to disembark. No adequate refreshments or information were provided for more than 2 hours, which is a breach of your duty of care under Article 9 of EU261. You informed us the delay was due to weather in Barcelona. While I acknowledge there was adverse weather in Catalonia on that day, I contest that this constitutes an exempt extraordinary circumstance for my flight because: The flight eventually operated and landed in Barcelona on the same day, proving the airport was operational. According to METAR reports for LEBL, other flights were operating during that period. Please provide the official METAR/NOTAM proving BCN was closed at the time of my scheduled arrival. The 4-hour tarmac delay in Budapest indicates a lack of all reasonable measures to avoid the delay, as per Recital 14 and Article 5(3) of EU261. For a flight of 1525 km, the compensation due is EUR 400 per passenger. Please process the payment of EUR 800 total for 2 passengers to the original payment method within 14 days. If this claim is rejected, please provide full evidence of extraordinary circumstances and I will escalate the case to the Hungarian Aviation Authority and the European Consumer Centre. Kind regards, LΓ‘szlΓ³ Szokol

We purchased return Ryanair flights from Zagreb to Malaga for €755, including Priority Boarding with a 10kg carry-on and small backpack. At Malaga Airport, after passing security and having our gate changed three times, my boarding pass was scanned and I was cleared to board. My wife was stopped because she was carrying a small plaid bag containing only her jacket. She immediately repacked it into our permitted luggage. I returned briefly to help her place the item in my backpack. The boarding staff member became confrontational and demanded that we check all our bags in the Ryanair baggage-size cages. All four bags fitted within the permitted dimensions. Despite this, she demanded an additional €50 for my carry-on and threatened to deny us boarding. I proceeded onto the aircraft, where cabin crew helped store our bags. However, Guardia Civil officers were then instructed to remove us from the plane because the staff member had denied us boarding. Guardia Civil advised us to file complaints with Ryanair and AESA. Ryanair refused a refund or replacement flight. We therefore had to purchase alternative flights for €493.22, with a Munich stopover. We request reimbursement of our original €755 fare, the €493.22 replacement flights, and reasonable additional expenses caused by this incident. We are raising the issue with you first. Then if Ryanair refuses to cooperate, with the state of Andalusia, the local police and will take serious legal action unless we are refunded our flight home of 400€ + the rebooking of a new flight home with a new airport of 493.22€ as the Ryanair staff at the airport did not offer us a refund or a replacement flight after unlawfully denying us our flight home after we paid 755€ for these return flights. I am really shocked. I suffer of a serious heart condition the past 3 years and I simply cannot take this amount of stress and shock that the Ryanair boarding staff employee caused us. We want her seriously sanctioned and fired

We bought a return flight from Zagreb to Malaga for 755€, a priority boarding flight which includes a carry on luggage of 10kg and a small backpack. This morning we were supposed to fly home from Malaga airport. We passed through security and went to our boarding gate, which was changed 3 times. When it was finally time for boarding. I had my boarding pass scanned by one of the boarding staff and was passed through to board my flight. However the other problematic boarding staff lady, was creating problems for all the passengers in the queue. She held my wife back as she had a small plaid bag in her hands which just held her small jacket inside. She said she cant go through. My wife went to repack her bags. So that she could fit within the 1 carry on and 1 backpack limit. I as my wife’s husband went back to the boarding gate to help my wife out so she can put the small item in my backpack. The boarding staff woman started yelling at me, telling me to go back. I said I’m just trying to help my wife. She repeated this again and then snapped and then told me too to check my bags in the Ryanair bag size check cage. All 4 bags fit without problem, but the boarding lady still was yelling at both my wife and me. Then threatening us that we will not get onto the flight unless we pay 50€ extra for my carry on bag. Even though I originally had my boarding pass scanned and was told to go through by her more reasonable colleague. It was a ridiculous situation where my wife’s 2 items both fitted in the bag size check. Mine did too. So I refused to oblige to her threats and proceeded to the plane to board. We sat down on the plane and the flight attendants helped us put our bags inside the overhead lockers. However to our surprise and all the other passengers who witnessed us getting unfairly treated, we were asked by the local police, the Guardia civil to leave the plane. As the Ryanair boarding staff lady had denied us boarding. For a flight that we had already paid 755€, fit within all the luggage dimensions and also arrived extra early this morning to arrive on this flight on time. We were then taken by the Guardia civil offices, given a form to fill out. Then they told us they completely understand our situation but there’s nothing they can do to overturn the decision of the local staff woman who denied us boarding to our Ryanair flight home. The Guardia civil officers told us to file a complaint to the Ryanair counter and also to the AESA airport authority. The Ryanair counter flat out refused to provide us with a refund as the other staff member at this counter said she can’t do anything to refund us or find a replacement free of charge. She told us to book a new flight at our cost, which is now going to cost us an extra 493.22 €. Please refund us the full amount of our original flight, the new flight and also the money we’ve had to spend whilst having a wait all day for a new flight to with another airline which isn’t even direct but has a stopover in Munich and then we get back to Zagreb late tonight.

On September 29th, I was scheduled to fly from Barcelona to London Stansted at 09:10 in the morning. The airline cancelled the flight very late in the day, at approximately 22:20, forcing me to remain in the airport for more than thirteen hours. This delay was extremely stressful, exhausting, and caused me to miss multiple important appointments in London. I attempted to apply directly to Ryanair for compensation under EU Regulation 261. However, they informed me that I was not eligible due to β€œextreme weather conditions.” This explanation is not accurate. On that day, the weather in Barcelona consisted of rain only until around 11:00 in the morning. After that, the rain stopped and the weather was clear and pleasant for the rest of the day. This fact can be easily confirmed through official weather forecasts and records. Furthermore, Ryanair operated other flights throughout the same day to different destinations without cancellations. This demonstrates that the weather was not an extraordinary circumstance preventing operations. Therefore, the justification provided to deny compensation is unfounded.

I had a connected booking from Manchester to Sofia via Eindhoven. I was informed at the Manchester airport that the Manchester flight was delayed at least an ahour (about which I received emails after 4 pm too), therefore I did not board this flight and had to find another solution to arrive to Sofia where I have to be by 2 pm the next day. From Eindhoven, I did not have any flight to Sofia if I had arrived there with 2 hours+ delay, neither in the morning, so I had to arrange a different way to get to Sofia. I did not find anyone at the Ryanair desk (I saw them leaving but did not come back for an least half an hour.... so I left). Ryanair did not bring me Sofia by Thuesday night, so I had to take a flight from London in the morning, where I trivelled by bus. The delay to Eindhoven was less than two hours (according to Eindhoven airport it arrived at 19:49, instead of 17:15), but it was a connected booking, so the delay had to be considered with regards to the final destination, that is Sofia. (I refer to UK261.)
