Flight FR3531 β Palma de Mallorca (PMI) to Eindhoven (EIN), 22 September 2026 Our flight was scheduled to depart at 07:05 and arrive at 09:35. We arrived more than 3 hours after the scheduled arrival time. Ryanair rejected our EU261 compensation claim, stating that the delay was caused by air traffic control (ATC) restrictions beyond Ryanairβs control. However, at Palma Airport we were told that fluid was leaking from underneath the aircraft wing, after which we were transferred to another aircraft. We would like AirAdvisor to assess whether we are entitled to EU261 compensation and whether Ryanair was correct in relying on extraordinary circumstances. There were 3 passengers on the booking: 2 adults and our 2-year-old child with his own seat/ticket.- Palma de Mallorca-Πindhoven

Dear Ryanair Customer Service, Ryanair cancelled my flight only one hour before the scheduled departure, while I was already waiting at the bus station to travel to the airport. As a result of the last-minute cancellation, I incurred the following additional expenses: Bus ticket: β¬18 New train/flight ticket: β¬188 Train ticket: β¬20 Refund received from Ryanair: β¬29.99 The total amount of my additional expenses is β¬226.01 after deducting the β¬29.99 refund, or β¬256.00 in total expenses before the refund. According to Ryanair Customer Service, I am entitled to receive a refund for the cancelled flight. However, I would also like to request reimbursement for the additional costs I had to incur as a direct result of the last-minute cancellation. I kindly ask you to reimburse these additional expenses. I can provide the relevant tickets, receipts, and proof of payment if required. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response. Flight got changed from Eindhoven as we had driven there from Charleroi. The hassle of it all was having to drive the car back as Avis would have charged us β¬500 to leave in Eindhoven. We had to drive 3 hours to Brussels and 3 hours back (family had to drive with us 2 ways in order for us to get back). Plus messed day planned in a fun park for my daughter Zara whoβs birthday was on the 20th where she missed her own party.- Charleroi-Malta

I was booked on Ryanair flight FR4474 from Brussels Charleroi to Milan Bergamo on 20 October 2024. The flight departed from Brussels Charleroi as scheduled and flew for approximately one hour towards Milan. However, instead of continuing to Milan Bergamo, the aircraft turned around and flew back to Brussels Charleroi, where it landed. The flight did not reach Milan Bergamo, and I was not transported to my booked destination. After we landed back at Charleroi, passengers were told that we would receive an email from Ryanair within approximately one hour explaining the situation and the arrangements for a refund. I did not receive this promised communication. At the airport, Ryanair did not provide me with an alternative flight to Milan. I was told that there were no available Ryanair flights to Milan until Wednesday. I was also not provided with accommodation, meals, refreshments, or alternative transportation to my destination. I was left at Charleroi and had to arrange my own transportation to Milan. Because Ryanair did not provide me with rerouting, I had to arrange alternative ground transportation from Belgium to Milan. I travelled by car with other passengers who were also affected by the flight disruption. The journey took approximately 12 hours, compared with the approximately 1.5-hour flight I had originally booked. My share of the alternative transportation costs amounted to approximately β¬356. I have documentation supporting these expenses, including: The receipt for the rental/vehicle arrangement, which was made in another passengerβs name; Proof of my payments towards the vehicle costs; Payments I made towards highway tolls and petrol. FlightRadar24 flight route showing that FR4474 departed Brussels Charleroi, turned back, and landed at the departure airport instead of Milan Bergamo. These were expenses I incurred personally in order to reach Milan after Ryanair failed to transport me to my destination or provide alternative transportation. I subsequently contacted Ryanair several times regarding the disrupted flight, requesting the refund and compensation to which I believed I was entitled. On 30 October 2024, I submitted refund and compensation requests through Ryanairβs official customer service channels. However, I was repeatedly redirected to Ryanairβs online refund system. The system incorrectly showed the flight as having been completed, even though the aircraft had returned to Brussels Charleroi and never landed at Milan Bergamo. I have retained documentation showing the flightβs actual route and return to the departure airport, as well as my correspondence with Ryanair and the documentation relating to my additional travel expenses. I did not receive the promised refund or a satisfactory resolution from Ryanair. I am seeking: EU261 compensation for the disruption of flight FR4474, subject to your assessment of my eligibility. Reimbursement of my β¬356 in reasonable alternative transportation expenses, which I incurred because Ryanair did not provide rerouting to Milan. Refund of the β¬130 ticket price, as the booked transportation from Brussels Charleroi to Milan Bergamo was not completed. I have retained the relevant documents and evidence from the journey, including my booking, flight information, correspondence with Ryanair, evidence that the aircraft returned to Brussels, and documentation supporting my additional transportation costs. Please assess my claim based on the circumstances above and the supporting documentation I can provide.- Charleroi-Bergamo

Dear Ryanair Customer Service, I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding the damage to my suitcase during its transportation on a Ryanair flight. My name is Katarina VujoviΔ, and upon arrival at my destination and collecting my luggage, I discovered that my suitcase had been damaged during transport. The suitcase was handed over in good condition before the flight, and the damage appears to have occurred while it was being handled by airport or airline personnel. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way my luggage was handled, as it was damaged while under your care. I kindly request that Ryanair investigate this incident and provide information regarding the procedure for compensation or reimbursement for the damaged suitcase. I am prepared to provide photographs of the damage, my flight details, baggage tag, and any other documentation required to process my complaint. I look forward to your response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter. Kind regards, Katarina VujoviΔ- Oslo-Vilnius

Problems at airport
My flight was cancelled, and due to the cancellation I was unable to reach my final destination as originally planned. I tried to find an alternative flight through the airline, but the available options were sold out or did not allow me to travel within a reasonable timeframe. As a result, I was forced to purchase an alternative flight from another airline at a significantly higher price. I also had to pay additional expenses, including accommodation, transportation and other necessary costs caused directly by the disruption. I also attempted to request a refund for my cancelled flight through the airlineβs website, but the system repeatedly showed an error and I was unable to complete the refund request. I have attached screenshots showing the error as evidence. I am therefore requesting reimbursement of my reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, as well as any compensation I am entitled to under the applicable passenger rights regulations. I have receipts and proof of payment for the expenses incurred.- Krakow-London

We already boarded onto the plane, waited for about 30 minutes and the pilot told us we had deplane because they was some mechanical error with the plane but after we deplaned, we were told a different story that the northern UK airspace is closed due to some system down. Ryanair did tell the next expected departure is 1845hours but it is not definite. In the end, we waited by the gate for over 10 hours before the departure time got finalised. We arrived at Glasgow at 1945hours.- Dublin-Glasgow

Influence by other flights
They denied my compensation claim and advised it was due to a medicial emergency on the previous flight. This was a day trip Iβd planned and as the flight was delayed 9 hours we couldnβt travel. We had transfers booked and a boat trip. Ryanair provided β¬4 voucher while we were at the airport. The flight was initially delayed until 9am, then 9.30, then 11am, 1.50pm and departed at 3.45. Donald trump arrived at the airport around 8am and we assumed this was the problem. I had also booked the carpark and fast track, which was another waste of money.- Dublin-Beauvais

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred today, Sunday, 20th September 2026. I held a confirmed booking for flight GYPZQR scheduled at 17:35 from Milan Bergamo [BGY] to Paphos [PFO]. I completed online check-in at 13:00 on the same day, correctly entering my personal details as per my passport: Surname De Mitri, First Name Marco Giulio. I arrived at the gate on time for boarding, which started at 17:45. Upon document verification, the boarding agent informed me of a discrepancy in your system: I was registered as Surname "De" and First Name "Marco Giulio Mitri", while both my passport and the boarding pass generated by your Ryanair app correctly showed Surname "De Mitri" and First Name "Marco Giulio". This is clearly a system error in handling a compound surname. Despite this, I was told I would have to pay a penalty fee of β¬160 to be allowed to board. Considering this request completely unacceptable and unjustified, I refused, and I was subsequently denied boarding. This failure has caused me severe inconvenience and financial loss: 1. Inability to reach Cyprus as planned, as this was the only direct flight of the day; 2. Loss of an important business commitment in Cyprus; 3. The need to purchase at my own expense a replacement flight for the next day from Milan Malpensa [MXP]; 4. Additional costs for an overnight stay between Bergamo and Malpensa and for transfers from Malpensa to Bergamo and from Larnaca to Paphos. In light of the above, I request: - A full refund for the unused flight, for which you are responsible; - Reimbursement of the replacement flight, the overnight accommodation, and all transfer costs incurred; - Adequate compensation for the professional damage and severe distress suffered. I look forward to your written response within 7 working days, failing which I reserve the right to file a formal complaint with ENAC and to take further legal action. Please find attached a copy of my passport, boarding pass, and booking confirmation. Yours faithfully, Marco Giulio De Mitri Tel: (+357) 96720437 Email: marcodemi804@gmail.com Booking Reference: GYPZQR Passport No: YC4284191- Bergamo-Paphos

I received non-answers saying I should go through the help centre, but the help centre does not allow me appealing their decision. Their decision is not proven enough according to the european legislation. Grounds The delay exceeds three hours at the final destination, giving rise to compensation of β¬250 under Article 7(1)(a), the distance being under 1,500 km (Sturgeon, C-402/07; Nelson, C-581/10). Under Article 5(3) the operating carrier bears the burden of proving both that extraordinary circumstances existed and that all reasonable measures were taken. Ryanair has addressed neither limb. Its refusal contains no case-specific evidence of any kind. The carrier cites Recital 14, whose enumeration does not include air traffic control restrictions. The applicable provision is Recital 15, which requires an air traffic management decision "in relation to a particular aircraft on a particular day". No such decision has been identified. Ryanair's own published explanation states that such restrictions "can be caused by lots of things β from accumulating delays earlier in the day". Delay accumulated within the carrier's own rotation is inherent in the normal exercise of its activity and is not extraordinary (Wallentin-Hermann, C-549/07; van der Lans, C-257/14). The operating data is inconsistent with a flow restriction affecting this flight. Scheduled block time was 2 hours 25 minutes; actual block time was 1 hour 42 minutes, 43 minutes shorter than scheduled. The delay accrued on the ground at Barcelona and was partially recovered in flight. Even were extraordinary circumstances established, the carrier must demonstrate the reasonable measures taken, including the availability of reserve aircraft or crew and re-routing (TAP Portugal, C-74/19). Ryanair has provided no such account despite express request. Ryanair directed me to "your local Alternative Dispute Resolution Body" without identifying any ADR entity to which it is subscribed.- Barcelona-Vienna

"Ryanair cancelled my flight FR9550 (Charleroi-Iasi, 17/09/2026) citing an ATC strike as the reason, and denied my compensation claim (case 81271900) on this basis. However, I have evidence questioning the direct causal link: the strike ran from 22:00 to 08:00, while my flight was scheduled for 16:00 - 8 hours after the strike ended. Additionally, Ryanair notified me of the cancellation on 16/09, before the strike even began, suggesting a planned organizational decision rather than a direct consequence of the strike. I also verified that three other Ryanair flights from the same airport (Charleroi) operated normally that same day: FR4474 (departed 15:15, on time), FR8073 (departed 17:03, on time), and FR4496 (departed 18:19, minor delay). These flights operated immediately before, shortly after, and later the same day as my cancelled flight, which questions whether the strike caused a general operational disruption affecting my specific flight."- Charleroi-Iasi

Hello, we booked a return flight to Catania from Malta from 15th to 20th september for 4 passengers, we had booked a car for 6 days, 2 nights in Noto and 3 nights in Taormina. Flight FR2920 from Malta to Catania on tuesday 15th september 2026 have been cancelled by Ryanair and received a cancellation email from booking.com around an hour after it's original departure which was scheduled at 8.30am, an Aviaserve rep showed us the way to reclaim our already checked in luggages and then to Aviaserve desk where we were told that either we accept a rescheduled flight on the next day at 23.00hrs or else place a claim online for a full refund, at that point we decided to cancel our holiday in Sicily and claim a refund, as the booking was made through Booking.com Ryanair told us that we have to contact Booking.com to settle this issue, but when we called them by phone they answered that we were not eligible for the refund and they even confirmed that with an email. This was really frustrating for us, first of all because we had to get the 5am ferry from Gozo to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight departure, and also because we had 2 seniors with us, imagine accepting the rescheduled flight for the next day at 23.00 arriving for the last night we had booked in Noto early Thursday morning than to just checkout the same day before 10.00 and drive to Taormina, that would have been exhausting expecially for the seniors. Tried to place a claim through Ryanair and booking.com without success, they seem to make things hard for passengers to file a claim so to make you give up. Can you pls help us with this issue? Thanks Best regards Martin- Malta-Catania

After arriving at the airport, all five passengers successfully scanned their boarding passes and passed through the security inspection area without any issues. The boarding passes were accepted and there was no indication that there was a problem with any of the passengersβ tickets. Our flight was then delayed by almost three hours, during which we had to wait at the airport. When boarding finally began, we scanned our boarding passes again. However, at this point, the boarding passes of two of the five passengers were suddenly not accepted. As a result, only three of us were able to board the flight. The two affected passengers were not provided with a clear explanation as to why their boarding passes were no longer valid. They were unable to board our flight and had to travel to another airport the following day in order to take a different flight with another airline. We were not provided with any meaningful explanation for what caused this issue, nor were the affected passengers offered reimbursement or assistance for the additional travel and other costs resulting from the situation. We are therefore requesting reimbursement for the expenses incurred as a direct result of this incident.- Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden-Porto

The flight has been delayed firstly till 10:00 and then we received a voice announcement from the airport staff that the flight has been cancelled. They took all passengers by the bus to the Arrivals area back, we picked up the checked-in luggage and went to the Arrival Hall in the airport. After that I received a text notification from Ryanair where they suggested the hotel nearby (anttached) and also we talked to the Ryanair representatives. The Ryanair team gave us a paper with printed links (attached) and notified us that we have to pay for everything by ourselves and then just claim back the expenses. When we asked what was the reason for cancelled flight they refused to proved the reason. At the moment, 19/09/2026 5AM (local Poland time) I did not arrive to the destination yet and still being based in the hotel. There were in fact no care provided by Ryanair. They refused to manage the hotel reservation by themselves and they did not provide any vouchers or any other care things listed in the EU261 Compensation and Expenses list. This incident impacted my hotel reservation in Greece (Sky Luxury Suites Hotel) as I did not arrive on 18/09/2026 as planned and will arrive only on 19/09/2026 after 18:00 local Greece time, thus the Hotel will retail one night cost from my reservation (attached) which is 112 EUR and this is my loss. Also this case can be classified as a ruined holidays and loss of enjoyment as it was supposed to be a short weekend escape between 18/09 till 21/09, but instead of having almost 3 full days of the rest in Greece, in fact I will have only 1 day: - 18/09 - we did not flight and I stuck in Poland - 19/09 - itβs a midday flight schedule + time to get to the hotel which is more than 100 km far from the airport, so in fact I will arrive to the place Saturdays evening - 20/09 - still be the only 1 full day of this short holidays For the moral compensation we can discuss the potential claim amount separately. At the moment the compensation amounts which are known and fixed are: - 250 EUR - under EU261 Rules - 250 EUR (equivalent of 1086.50 PLN) is a hotel with breakfast expenses - 112 EUR is one night hotel cost that the Hotel will retail regardless I did not use the room - Moral compensation for broken holidays - TBD- Krakow-Thessaloniki

Air traffic control issues cause a cancellation on my flight I arrive to Ibiza at 1:16am on Thursday the 10th of September, the airline did not tell us our flight was cancelled until an hour after we where supposed to board , we stood in a queue in Dublin airport for 4 hours and when we finally reached the Ryanair desk there was no direct flights to Ibiza until Saturday the 12th of September , we had events booked in Ibiza that we had paid a lot of money for that we could not miss before Saturday we opted to fly to Barcelona the following morning at 1:25pm and get a connecting flight to Ibiza from there . Lack of care for a child and her mum
Cancelled flight with no rep or staff coming to advise or support for what to do next, not one staff member. I was travelling alone with my 7 year old daughter and to be told we would have to wait until Saturday for a flight with Ryanair and also receive no support in booking a room is disgraceful, I found a hostel and reserved it for us for the next day to stay the night until our new flight with easy jet on the Friday. We slept alone in a large open space in T2C counting down the hours til 2pm on the Thursday 17th to go to the hostel. We got a taxi in the morning to be dropped off there and wait for our room to be ready the taxi driver then said to be very careful especially as a single woman and young daughter in this area as itβs known for not being safe so I told him to take me somewhere else we drove around different areas asking four/five different hotels if they had a room which they didnβt. My daughter kept drifting in and out of sleep exhausted, I hadnβt slept since 6am on the Wednesday morning. I asked him to take me back to the airport and we will just have to sleep there again. I just couldnβt put her through that again and came across a flight to Glasgow I then changed my flights from Fri 18th to Thur 17th just in time to make it on the flight, I find the whole situation handlers very badly with such a lack of care that itβs very upsetting and was difficult to navigate and deal with alone.Overall
No communication or advice on what to do next alongside no help with accommodation for my daughter and I, she had to sleep on the cold hard floor with beach towels and her flight pillow I couldnβt sleep at all as I was watching her the whole time worried

Flight FR2072 from Girona (GRO) to Shannon (SNN) on 26 August 2026 was scheduled to depart at 05:45 and arrive at 07:15. We arrived at Girona Airport at approximately 03:00 after returning our rental car at around 02:30 and had only approximately two hours of sleep. We had already checked in, passed security and passport control and were at the airport/gate when we were informed of the severe delay. At the time, Ryanair staff told us that the delay was caused by a mechanical/technical problem with the aircraft. The flight eventually departed at approximately 20:00 Spanish time and arrived in Shannon at approximately 22:00 Irish time, resulting in an arrival delay of approximately 14 hours and 45 minutes. We submitted an EU261 compensation claim to Ryanair. The claim was initially processed and we were asked to provide our payment details. We subsequently received confirmation that our payment details had been successfully submitted and that Ryanair would aim to process the payment within 10 days. However, on 16 September 2026, Ryanair changed its position and issued a rejection stating only that the disruption was caused by βcircumstances outside of Ryanair's controlβ. Ryanair did not identify the specific mechanical/technical problem, explain why it was outside its control, or provide evidence supporting its claim that an extraordinary circumstance existed. We believe this decision should be reviewed. We understand that a technical problem does not automatically constitute an extraordinary circumstance under EU261. We therefore ask that the actual cause of the mechanical/technical problem be established and that Ryanair be required to demonstrate why it qualifies for the extraordinary-circumstances exemption. We are seeking the applicable EU261 compensation of β¬250 per passenger, β¬500 in total for the two passengers, together with reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred as a result of the disruption. We have retained the relevant receipts and supporting documentation. We also approached Ryanair at the airport for assistance during the extremely long delay. We were provided with meal vouchers but had to arrange accommodation ourselves. I was denied boarding for flight f X58R3E on 03 September 2026 from Tenerife to Manchester despite holding a valid booking, having checked in on time, and being present at the gate before boarding closed. At the gate, staff informed me I could not board. This was not due to any fault on my part - no security, documentation, or late arrival issue. The flight was still on the ground and passengers were actively boarding in front of me when I was refused. I was travelling with an under-18 minor, which made this situation extremely distressing and caused significant anxiety. We were left stranded at the gate while other passengers continued to board. To continue our journey, I was then forced to pay an additional β¬86 charge by the airline, despite the denied boarding being their decision. I believe this constitutes involuntary denied boarding under EU Regulation EC 261/2004. I arrived on time with all required documents and was denied transport on an overbooked/operationally managed flight. I am requesting full compensation for denied boarding, plus reimbursement of the β¬86 additional charge I was forced to pay, and any other associated costs. I have been trying to contact Ryanair for the past two months, but I have not received any proper response. I also contacted Kiwi, and they responded and told me that they have not received any refund from Ryanair. They said that I need to contact Ryanair directly regarding the refund because they cannot help me with it. I have made so many calls to Ryanair, but none of my calls were answered. On one occasion, they did answer my call and told me that they had submitted my refund request and that I would receive the refund within one week. Now, the third week has passed, and I still have not received my refund. I have been chasing you for the past two months, repeatedly asking you to issue my refund, but I still have not received it. I was travelling on Ryanair flight FR7263 from Bucharest (OTP) to Malta (MLA) on 13 September 2026. The flight was scheduled to depart at 23:00 and arrive in Malta at 00:25. The flight was already significantly delayed in Bucharest. Ryanair changed the estimated departure several times, at one point showing 02:15 and an estimated arrival in Malta at 03:40. During the flight, at approximately 03:20β03:25, while approaching Malta, the crew announced that I was expected to land in around 10 minutes. This would already have meant arriving more than 3 hours after the scheduled arrival time of 00:25. Shortly afterwards, the crew announced that the aircraft could not land in Malta due to adverse weather and that we would be diverted to Catania. I submitted an EU261 claim directly to Ryanair, but it was rejected solely because the diversion was caused by thunderstorms in Malta. However, the flight had already accumulated a substantial delay before the weather-related diversion occurred. I would therefore like you to assess whether I am entitled to compensation for the delay that had already occurred independently of the subsequent diversion.- Bucharest-Malta

Everyone on the flight had boarded the plane before pilot announced there were technical difficulties with the plane and everyone had to disembark while they waited for an engineer to attend to diagnose and fix the problem. I have gone through Aviation ADR with this claim and they rejected it saying the flight was delayed by 179 minutes after taking into account ATC and technical issues, but I have messages sent after landing and before the doors to the aircraft opened time stamped at 14:45 Spanish time, so delay is over the 3 hour mark.- Belfast-Alicante

I arrived at Lisbon Airport at approximately 16:30 for Ryanair flight FR8858 from Lisbon to Budapest, scheduled to depart at 19:10. I arrived approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes before departure and successfully completed the check-in process. After checking in, I immediately proceeded through airport security. The security area was extremely congested, with only two security lines operating for the passengers there. The queue moved extremely slowly. I remained in the security process, had my baggage screened by X-ray, completed all required security checks, and proceeded directly to my boarding gate once I was cleared. I reached the actual boarding gate, Gate 206, at approximately 18:40 β around 30 minutes before the scheduled 19:10 departure. However, there were no Ryanair boarding staff present at the gate. There was only a security employee, who initially did not know what had happened with my flight. After checking the flight information, he told me that the gate had already been closed. I explained that I had arrived at the airport approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes before departure, had successfully checked in, and that the exceptionally long airport security queue had delayed me reaching the gate. I was physically present at Gate 206 approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, but I was told there was nothing he could do and that I needed to contact Ryanair. I spent approximately 10 minutes at the gate trying to resolve the situation. At 18:50, still 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time, I took a photograph of the airport departure information screen as evidence. The photograph clearly shows the time as 18:50, flight FR8858 to Budapest scheduled for 19:10, Gate 206, and the status βGate Closed.β I then went to the Ryanair office at the airport. The representative told me that they could not assist me because they considered the situation an airport-related issue rather than an airline issue. I subsequently contacted Ryanair customer support by phone and explained the entire situation. I asked whether they could assist me or place me on an alternative flight. I explained that I needed to return to Budapest because my onward return to Canada was from Budapest, my brother was waiting for me there, and I had existing arrangements that would be affected. I specifically asked the representative to please hear me out and explained that I was not even being offered an alternative flight despite the circumstances. No alternative flight or other solution was offered. After I finished explaining the situation, there was silence and the representative ended the call without any further explanation. As a result, despite arriving at Lisbon Airport approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes before departure, successfully checking in, completing airport security, and being physically present at Gate 206 approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, I was unable to board FR8858. I was forced to purchase another flight myself in order to reach Budapest, resulting in additional expenses and significant disruption to my travel arrangements. I have photographic evidence from the airport showing that at 18:50 - 20 minutes before the scheduled departure - FR8858 was already displayed as βGate Closed.β- Lisbon-Budapest

A major issue throughout this disruption was the complete lack of communication and transparency from the airline. Prior to the disruption, we were given no indication whatsoever that our flight might not land in Porto as scheduled. The diversion to Madrid therefore came completely unexpectedly. There had been no warning, explanation, or communication preparing passengers for the possibility of such a significant change to the journey. After landing in Madrid, the situation became even more frustrating. We remained on the aircraft, on the tarmac, for approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours and were not permitted to leave the plane. During this entire period, passengers were given little to no meaningful information about what was happening. We were not told how long we would remain there, whether we would eventually continue to Porto, whether we would be required to disembark in Madrid, or what alternative arrangements might be made. We were simply left waiting without any clear timeline or explanation. This lack of information was made even more difficult by the fact that, while we were sitting on the tarmac, internet access was either unavailable or extremely poor. As passengers had been given no clear indication of what would happen next, many of us were naturally trying to look up possible alternatives, onward travel options, or other arrangements ourselves. However, the poor connectivity made this extremely difficult. We were therefore left in a situation where the airline was not providing sufficient information, while at the same time we had very limited ability to independently find information or make alternative plans. The airline also made very little effort to make passengers comfortable during this extended delay. No complimentary food or snacks were provided despite passengers being confined to the aircraft for several hours due to circumstances entirely outside of their control. Any food or refreshments available still had to be purchased. Given the length and unusual nature of the disruption, I found this particularly unreasonable. Eventually, and again with very little advance communication, passengers were suddenly instructed to sit down because the flight would be continuing to Porto. Until that moment, we had effectively been left in the dark about what would happen next. Overall, what made this experience particularly unacceptable was not only the disruption itself, but the airlineβs handling of it. There was a serious lack of transparency, proactive communication, passenger support, and consideration for the people affected. In an already stressful and highly unusual situation, clear updates, reassurance, and basic provisions such as complimentary refreshments would have made a significant difference. Instead, passengers were left uncertain and uncomfortable for several hours with almost no information about how or when we would reach our intended destination, and with very limited ability to make alternative arrangements ourselves. When we eventually arrived in Porto, more than five hours later than scheduled, we immediately went to the Ryanair help desk to raise our concerns and explain what had happened. Unfortunately, the assistance we received there was again extremely limited. The staff did not provide any meaningful explanation or resolution regarding the disruption or the way passengers had been treated. We were simply given a document (attached) directing us to submit this claim. This further added to the overall frustration, as even after finally reaching our destination, there was still very little acknowledgment, explanation, or support from Ryanair regarding the significant disruption we had experienced.- Charleroi-Porto

Influence by other flights
Ryanair refused my compensation claim, stating that the delay was caused by bad weather affecting the previous flight operated by the aircraft. However, I believe this explanation is incorrect, as the aircraftβs flight history shows that it arrived in Brussels on time, and other airlines, including an easyJet flight on the same route, were able to operate during the same period. I provided this evidence to Ryanair and requested a reconsideration, but the company rejected my claim without addressing the evidence provided or explaining how the alleged weather conditions directly caused the 15+ hour delay. As no assistance was provided by Ryanair during the disruption, I had to purchase a new flight for the following morning in order to reach my destination on time for a wedding. I am attaching the replacement flight booking, as well as receipts for necessary expenses incurred during the delay, including food purchased at the airport lounge and a coffee. I would like your assistance in pursuing this claim and obtaining the compensation and reimbursement to which I believe I am entitled under EU Regulation 261/2004.- Brussels-Rome

10:20 flight EIN-VLC. Supposed to get home and go to a nice birthday meal for my fiancee. Been up sincw Sunday morning as I had gone to a wedding and came straight back. I kicked up quite a storm and made it clear I understood what overbooking is. They said no we didn't choose you because you were flying alone, but because you were the last to check in. I highly doubt. There was anotjer lady on this flight who was " standby" but they did let her on, only to bring her back out because a baby was sitting in her seat π Originally EIN-VLC. Alternate route after more than an hour waiting, being offered and then denied a paid hotel in Eindhoven, EIN-MLA-VLC was come up with. It would have gotten me home a mere EIGHT hours late on my fiancee's birthday, had another 2h40 delay!!!! My total delay was more than 12 hours. I ate a meal there, had some coffees. Had to cancel restaurant reservation. Had to take the metro back. I've included most of those tickets.- Πindhoven-Valencia
