We flew from CRL to OPO airport early in the morning. We were flying above OPO airport for over an hour, already past the time we were supposed to land, and only then did an announcement get made that we were not going to land at OPO, and instead circle for another 45 minutes. No water or food was provided, or additional information. After another hour in the air, we were diverted to MADRID airport, not even within our final destination country. Once we landed in Madrid we were hours delayed, given NO information on when we would be able to take off, or what the procedure was. We were again given NO food or water. We were kept on a tiny flight with no fresh air or information whether we would be staying in Madrid, exiting the plane, or keep flying. After 2+ hours of sitting on the tarmac with no food, water or information, we were abruptly told we would fly to OPO again and try to land. This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a delay. The staff was rude and unhelpful and unkind, we were overheating, we were thirsty and hungry. Overall I felt like I was treated worse than the poor animals being transported. We arrived at our final destination after 15:00, when we were supposed to be there by ~9:30. We lost an entire day of our much needed and hard spent money on holiday.- Charleroi-Porto

We were delayed for over 3.5 hrs. Ryanair sent us meal vouchers to the value of Β£7 in total. They said they would not compensate us as delay was due to weather and we know it was due to computer failure. We finally got to destination around 9.30pm- Edinburgh-Funchal

We were supposed to take off at 21.30 on 09.09.26 and took off at 04.00 on 10.09.26 a delay of 6 and a half hours. Airline are telling me extreme weather but earlier they told us technical faults and in fact when on the plane pilot informed us it was delayed because of a technical fault and late leaving Malta.- Bergamo-Malta

We were unforgettable of a technical issue with the page causing a delay, we then heard about lunchtime that flight was canceled and we were being bussed to Dublin for a different flight. Apparently the plane was struck by a vehicle on the ground- Connaught-Bergamo

Our flight was delayed by 1 hour as per me of the boarding pass. We then waited for the delayed flight scheduled while we were close to the boarding time for the delayed flight. The board where you see you flights status mentioned our flight is cancelled but the ground staff mentioned it is rescheduled to the next day which did not make sense and did not provide any hotel accommodation and we had to go look for one ourselves and pay for Ubers from our pocket money. This is caused us our current room accommodation in Santorini aswell which was not refundable and had to pay our own accommodation for stay at night time when our flight was cancelled which is a total disaster and unacceptable.- Rome-Thira

By missing this flighy we missed our accommodation and airport pick up which was already paid for. Hence we had to pay additional costs for that which doubled our expenses. The airline first said that our flight was delayed for 1 hour. Then delayed for another 2 hours. Then finally they announced on the airport screen that it was βcancelledβ but when we checked with their ground staff they kept saying βit is not cancelled, it is re-scheduled β. The airline sent me a message that they cannot provide any hotels nor transportation so we would have to book ourselves and get compensation.- Rome-Thira

We were also delayed on our way over on the 4th from Dublin to Alicante, we landed just under 3 hours late but it was terrible communication in Dublin airport and I travelled with my brother in law who has autism and struggles in crowds and my mother in law who has MS and gets fatigued very easily. We received β¬4 vouchers per person but by the time we realised we were already in line (for a second time) queuing up to scan our boarding passes as the plane we were supposed to be on had a technical issue so we got another one at a different gate. We were on a family holiday surprising my partner, baby and parents on my sonβs first holiday and we missed the majority of the first day as we only got to the hotel at around 5:30am. On the way home it was very stressful as the airport was very very crowded and we couldnβt even find a seat for the first couple of hours. And because we were so delayed we had to buy food in the airport which was β¬62 and also some items from vending machines for different amounts. Also because of the delay the lift we had previously arranged could not collect us so we had to pay β¬30 for a taxi home. Our youngest passenger also had to miss a day of school as we only arrived home after 4am. I believe we arrived at around 3.37am on the 9th.- Alicante-Dublin

Flight was at 10.30 pm and start getting text some through the app saying the Flight was delayed and got 4 euros vouchers and eventually was told that Flight was delayed until 6am but it was from Barcelona airport and we had to wait a couple of hours for coaches to collect us while left standing outside the airport. When eventually dropped off at Barcelona no staff there to show us where to go . Eventually found what part of the airport to go to was told to queue up to board the plane when another flight that was after us was boarded and took off before us . As we got on the plane we were told that we had to change our seats because a child could not sit at the exit door so my husband and son had to sit at the door and I had to sit behind them on our seats with the woman and her child and these were the seats that we paid for so we could sit together. So overall we were about 14 hours travelling. From Reus to Dublin- Reus-Dublin

We got a message to app to say flight was delayed to 23.30 ,but we had to still check in at our original time.we checked in 2 hours before ,then we got a text to say delayed till 00.30,gave us 4 euro refreshments voucher. Then got message saying, Delayed till 1.25am.then got a message saying flight won't take off till 6am on the 30 of August. Then we got a text say dude to a missed curfew we had to be bused up to Barcelona Airport and our flight would be at 6am on the 30of August. They also said buses would arrive with 30 minutes to take us up to Barcelona. We hadto go out onto runway back into Airport through passport control to collect our bag.then we where put out to front doors of Airport to wait for bus .then staff informed us buses wouldn't start arrive for at least an hour this was around 1am in the morning .so we where allowed return into the airport to try find some seats.it was over an hour and a half before 2 bus's arrived there was 188 of us and older people and parents with young children where only allowed on the first 2 buses.we where then told it would be at least another 40 min till next buses arrived.at this stage another voucher for 4 euro was issued with no where open and it didn't work on vending machine sure vending machine either had nothing left on weren't working. It was 2.30 before our bus came there wasn't enough room and 5 people had to get off .one Ryanair staff put us on the bus we never seen or heard from them after that ,they never told us what terminal we where flying from in Barcelona it was 1.40 in to Barcelona Airport the bus driver didn't understand when I ask what terminal did we have to go to?.when I finally found out it was terminal C .we where stop at door and security kept telling me I was at wrong Airport ( language barrier).when we finally got to departure get we where to it was boarding still was able to get anything to eat or drink.we where told flight was at 5.30 but the flight didn't depart till 7.am.i have to say did find Ryanair staff helpful at all- Reus-Dublin

Technical problems
Ryanair is currently using the diversion to Catania due to thunderstorms as the reason for denying compensation. However, the flight was already delayed by more than 3 hours before the weather situation occurred. The initial delay was caused by a technical issue with the aircraft and had already resulted in a delay of more than three hours before we approached Malta. Only afterwards, when we were already on our way to Malta, severe thunderstorms prevented the aircraft from landing at Malta Airport. The aircraft was subsequently diverted to Catania, which caused the delay to become even longer. Therefore, the weather conditions were not the original cause of the more than three-hour delay. They occurred later and further increased an already substantial delay. Ryanair is now using the extraordinary weather circumstances to reject the compensation claim, but I believe the initial technical delay should be assessed separately from the later weather-related diversion. I would therefore ask you to investigate the original technical delay and the exact operational delay code/reason recorded by Ryanair, as well as the timeline of the flight, to determine whether I am entitled to compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004.- Bucharest-Malta

Terrible timekeeping - exhausting
Commuting for work; I leave on a Sunday night every week, give or take the occasional change. I think since I started about 4 months ago there hasn't been a single time when our flight hasn't been delayed - sometimes by almost an hour and a half. Meaning i don't get home until 2am. EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Now I understand there are other issues at play but - other flights are departing on time. WHY is it so frequent.Overall

I got to the air port at 7.30pm I was travelling with my partner and on separate booking my sister an her 3 young children we checked our bags went through security and were then notified of a delay and then 1 hour before our flight I checked my Ryanair app which then had cancelled on our flights we were told we could book alternative flights on Ryanair, there were no flights available to Dublin fir the 6 members of my family until Friday, we then had to book flights that flew us in to Shannon Airport on the Wednesday which meant weβd have to make a 3 an half hour journey back to Dublin once we arrived to Shannon on the Wednesday night. My sister with 3 young children had only got cash for her holiday no bank card no way of getting money for hotels food taxis thankfully I had my bank card on my phone and was paid from work so was able to pay for everything hotels etc, there was no communication from Ryanair no one in airport to speak to, we had 3 very frightened children 1 of whom has autism. I was due back in work on the Wednesday so lost out on a days wages which I have not added in to the expenses of this at the cost of β¬127.35- Reus-Dublin

We have passed the final ID & Flight ticket inspection to the bus. The doors to the bus area have been closed entirely time. After 1 hour we have been told to go back to waiting area. No information have been shared with us. The planned departure time in Ryanair app was changing and postponing from 17:05 until 21:35. Seems like our flight was postponed to very last place for departure. Arrival to final destination was 22:55. Airline tells only about unexpected delay. No exact information. My flight was interrupted because I was forced to pay an additional β¬75 for my baggage, even though the suitcase itself fitted within the permitted baggage dimensions. The only reason it did not fit perfectly into the baggage sizer was because one of the rollers was broken and was sticking outward. This was a damaged part of the suitcase, not an attempt to bring an oversized bag or exceed the baggage allowance. I explained the situation to the staff and showed them that the suitcase otherwise fitted within the permitted dimensions. Despite this, I was told that I had to pay the β¬75 difference in order to proceed with my flight. I was effectively given no choice if I wanted to board. This caused an unnecessary interruption to my journey and forced me to incur an additional β¬75 charge because of a broken roller component, rather than because I had exceeded the permitted baggage allowance. I therefore dispute this charge and request that the β¬75 be reimbursed.- Charleroi-Tirana

Problems at airport
Supporting documents are attached in the field above. Scheduled departure 19:20 on 28 August 2026, actual departure approximately 06:00 on 29 August 2026. I arrived at my destination approximately 10 hours and 40 minutes late. The delay unfolded in three distinct phases. First, Ryanair cited ATC disruption as the initial cause. Despite this, we were told the flight would proceed and we boarded the aircraft. Once onboard, we were then made to disembark. At this point Ryanair staff announced a second and separate reason β the original pilots had exceeded their legal maximum flight hours and replacement pilots were being sourced. We were then made to wait at Memmingen Airport until approximately 06:00 on 29 August 2026 for a new crew to arrive. This sequence is critical. Even if the initial ATC disruption is accepted as an extraordinary circumstance, the crew hour expiration is a completely separate and internal operational failure entirely within Ryanair's control. Airlines are legally required to maintain adequate crew contingency planning. The crew hours issue alone caused the majority of the delay and cannot be shielded by the ATC excuse. I submitted a compensation claim directly with Ryanair, which was rejected on 02 September 2026 under Request ID 80648895. Ryanair cited only weather-related ATC restrictions in their denial, making no reference to the crew change that was announced onboard. This denial is therefore incomplete and misleading as it ignores the determining final cause of the delay. Ryanair provided only a 4 EUR voucher during an 11-hour overnight wait. I visited the Ryanair service desk and informed staff I have a documented spinal condition (BWS-Blockierung and Scoliosis). Despite being informed of my medical condition they refused to provide hotel accommodation or any meaningful assistance. I was forced to sleep on the airport floor, aggravating my pre-existing condition. I also lost the most expensive night of my pre-booked hotel in Mallorca valued at 139.23 EUR, which was the highest nightly rate of my entire booking as confirmed in the hotel booking confirmation, as I did not arrive until the morning of 29 August instead of the evening of 28 August. All supporting documents including the Ryanair denial, medical certificate, hotel booking confirmation, and expense receipts are attached.- Memmingen-Palma de Mallorca

The flight was delayed over three hours and I arrived in Naples more than three hours late. While on board, the captain and crew told us there was an engine problem. The engine was shut down at the stand, and the air conditioning was switched off for an extended period because of it. Engineers came and worked on the engine before we departed. I have video taken on board during the delay. I claimed compensation directly from Ryanair. They rejected it, saying the delay was caused by Air Traffic Control restrictions affecting the aircraft's previous sector. This contradicts what the crew told us and what I witnessed, the cause was a technical/engine fault, which is the airline's responsibility, not an extraordinary circumstance. I have Ryanair's rejection message.- Lisbon-Naples

We have been informed that compensation has been refused on the grounds that the delay was caused by adverse weather conditions. We formally dispute this explanation. According to the information available to us at the airport, the delay was caused by operational and technical issues involving the aircraft. In particular: the aircraft had to be replaced; an engineer had to intervene because a warning light was illuminated during the take-off procedure; as a consequence of these events, the flight lost its allocated departure slot, resulting in a significant delay. These circumstances appear to relate to the operation and technical condition of the aircraft rather than to extraordinary weather conditions beyond Ryanair's control.- Bologna-Lisbon

I was told the incorrect flight details on the app I was told gate A6, so i waited there for the flight with an hour to spare, i checked the flight board and confirmed i was at the right gate. Once the queue died down i joined and was told once i was at the front of the line that i wad at the wrong gate and the flight was now at the opposite end of the terminal. I wasnt helped at all and only told "cant you read?" By the rude staff I ran to the other terminal where i was also met with an unhelpful and rude staff member who told me "its not my job. Too bad" and wouldnt let me board the flight even though there was still 15 minutes until departure I still have a screenshot of the app showing the wrong gate and this was after the gate had closed for boarding. Being forced to use this app to reveive boarding passes AND being told incorrect information through it (not being updated when things change) is incredibly unfair, plus the staff at the airport were just incredibly unhelpful making it an all round terrible experience causing me to miss my flight have to find accomodation, rebook flights, miss out on my already booked accomodation in catania. If the app is not going to maintain up to date information, that should be made very clear when people use the app We also received no announcements for us over the intercom that we needed to board our flight at a different gate.- Naples-Catania

My wife Martina Pernar and I arrived at Palma de Mallorca Airport at 12:00 for our 13:40 Ryanair flight, 100 minutes before departure. We had already completed online check-in and only needed to drop our 20kg checked bag. Upon arrival, we encountered an extremely long and chaotic queue. We specifically asked a Ryanair staff member whether it was the correct bag-drop queue and informed her that our flight to Zagreb departed at 13:40. She checked our flight and explicitly instructed us to remain in the queue. The queue moved very slowly, while passengers were also cutting in. When we finally reached the desk, we were told that Zagreb passengers had been called to another counter. We had not heard the announcement due to the noise and chaotic conditions. Another couple in the same queue confirmed that they had also not heard it. We missed the baggage deadline by only 1β2 minutes. The staff member nevertheless told us to proceed to security, but security then refused our large bag and threatened to call the police. Under Article 6 of Ryanairβs General Terms & Conditions of Carriage, the bag-drop deadline is 40 minutes before departure. We arrived well before this deadline and relied on explicit instructions from Ryanair staff. We therefore believe the missed flight resulted from inadequate organisation and misleading staff instructions rather than passenger negligence. We respectfully request a full refund of both tickets.- Palma de Mallorca-Zagreb

From: Francesca Gatt Sent: 10 September 2026 11:51 To: Edward Zammit Tabona - Fortina Cc: Simon Gatt Subject: RYANAIR FLIGHT FR7796 7TH SEPTEMBER BOOKING REF XZL9VG Whilst checking in to above flight at Marseille airport our daughter questioned hand luggage check in. she asked my husband what she had booked and he had booked our flights. He went to show check in clerk his information. Check in clerk started telling him he was very rude to show him these papers and she got worked up. I was at the next check in counter and saw the commotion β I asked my husband what the problem was and he told me she (clerk) was and effing idiot. He did not tell her directly - he answered my question and reply was justified. She immediately jumped off her seat and came round and snatched off my husbands luggage tag β which he in turn automatically snatched back. Suddenly the check in desk was making a god all mighty fuss and called the police. She told us we would be spending the night in Marseille prison and that we were not travelling on the flight. The police came and got her version of the story and ours β they made an official report, then they went to watch CCTV footage. After watching it they came back to us and told us we were free to leave (as there was clearly no justification for drama). At which point this check in clerk went berserk β she kicked her bin, slammed her chair into desk and stormed off. After all this unnecessary drama we were still not allowed to board our flight. Please note they made me stay behind as well. We had no other choice but to book two flights to rome that evening, sleep at a hotel and catch morning flight out to Malta. This cost us approx. β¬ 1300 (receipts attached). Besides other expenses incurred. I have sent a complaint into Ryanair 766202 requesting refund for Ryanair tickets, refund for all expenses incurred and some action taken against this check in clerk who is clearly not fit for the job or a good face for Ryanair. I am writing to complain about what happened at Faro Airport on our flight to Prague via London Stansted. Our journey was: * Faro β London Stansted, booking L414MJ, 06:05 * London Stansted β Prague, booking F4PI8Q, 11:05 We arrived at the airport more than one hour before the scheduled departure and waited in the check-in queue for a very long time. We had already checked in online, but because the Ryanair app was not working properly, we could not access our boarding passes and had to resolve this at the airport. The staff member who dealt with us was extremely rude and, after keeping us waiting for a long time, told us that we could not board because we supposedly needed a UK ETA for our transit through London. This was shocking because we had checked the requirements very carefully before purchasing the tickets. We checked the UK government information, completed the relevant checks and also sought additional clarification. I am an Azerbaijani citizen with a valid Czech Category D long-term visa, while my companion is a Czech citizen. We had no checked baggage and were simply travelling through London to Prague. We believe our documents and circumstances were not properly considered. We would like Ryanair to investigate why we were denied boarding and provide us with the exact rule and reason for this decision. Because we missed the flight, we had to buy new tickets to Prague, pay for additional accommodation and taxis, and cancel/change our plans at home. We were already exhausted and had barely slept for almost two days due to travelling, so this situation was extremely stressful and upsetting. We therefore request a refund for our unused tickets and reimbursement/compensation for the additional costs we incurred as a direct result of being denied boarding. We sincerely hope you will investigate this matter seriously and provide a fair resolution. Kind regards, Janel- Faro-Prague

We deliberately booked an early flight because we were travelling with our young daughter, who has a regular routine, and because my husband was due to work on Wednesday. We do not live close to Bristol Airport; we live in Swindon, approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes away by car. For this reason, we chose an early flight so that we could return home at a reasonable time, allowing our daughter to rest and maintain her routine, and allowing my husband to get enough rest before going to work the following day. Unfortunately, the delay caused a great deal of stress and uncertainty. For a long period of time, we were not given clear information about whether our flight would actually depart that day. We could see other flights departing regularly while there was still no clear information about ours, which made the situation extremely frustrating, particularly as we were travelling with a small child. During the first hours of the delay, I approached a member of staff to ask whether we would be provided with food vouchers. She simply told me to check my email. When I asked about the situation with the delayed flight, she also said that she did not have any information and could not tell us what was happening. We eventually received a β¬4 food voucher and later another β¬4 voucher. However, β¬4 was not sufficient to purchase a proper meal and a bottle of water, especially when travelling with a young child during dinner time. It was not reasonable for us to simply give our daughter chips as a meal, and we had very limited options available to us at the airport. We eventually arrived at Bristol at approximately 1:00 a.m. By the time we had gone through immigration and collected our belongings, it was after 1:45 a.m. We reached our car at around 2:00 a.m. and did not arrive home in Swindon until approximately 3:00 a.m. As a direct consequence of the delay, my husband was unable to go to work the following day because he had not had sufficient rest. We also incurred additional parking costs because of the extended time our car had to remain at the airport. The whole experience was extremely stressful and exhausting, particularly because we were travelling with a young child and had made our travel arrangements specifically to avoid arriving home during the night.- Bergamo-Bristol

No reason given
Our flight FR1413 from London Stansted to Pisa on 28 August 2026 was severely delayed. Scheduled departure was 20:40 and scheduled arrival 23:45, but we didn't arrive at our final destination until after 03:00, a delay of well over 3 hours. Ryanair gave no explanation for the delay at the time. The only assistance provided was a food and drink voucher worth Β£3.50 per passenger, which was not enough to cover a meal, so we had to spend over Β£60 on dinner ourselves. As a result of the delay we lost part of a day of our trip, arrived at our accommodation very late (inconveniencing our hosts), and incurred extra unplanned costs on food and drink while waiting at the airport.- London-Pisa

I am Egyptian / Italian, living in Turin and my country is Cairo, Egypt. I checked in my luggage from Palma de Mallorca ariport on 30.06.2026 and it was a direct flight to Rome, where I didn't receive it. I had another flight with ITA Airways to Tuscany for business trip for a few days before departing to my home country (Egypt). I had to purchase clothes due to the loss of my luggage early July to attend the business meetings (essential clothes nothing luxurious). My luggage was found and delivered around the 13-14th August. (after 6 weeks). and my sports supplements and liquids were taken out in London due to custom checks and I had to deliver them to a friend who lives there as the airline luggage handling company doesn't ship outside the UK. Ryanair has only given me β¬90 of compensation for damaged luggage and refused to compensate me for the mess, disaster, delay and the purchased items and the items that were taken out- Palma de Mallorca-Rome

Problems at airport
The Ryanair offered a free rebooking, howver, the next flight is on the 13th of September which is 5 days after the original flight. It has impacted on work as my manager gave me 5 unpaid leave. By not being able to work, I am not getting paid which causes in less money for rent and the bills- Gdansk-London

Incompetent staff, terrible service.
Dear Ryanair Customer Support, My name is Sofia Kireeva, and I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the forced removal of myself and my companion from Ryanair flight FR-3079 (Lisbon β Barcelona) on 08.09.2026. Flight number: FR-3079 Date and Time: 08.09.2026, approximately 23:58 Route: Lisbon (LIS) β Barcelona (BCN) Our flight was rescheduled several times during the day. Despite having paid for checked baggage, we were initially refused the opportunity to drop it off at the airport, as staff claimed that baggage acceptance had already closed (even though departure was still about four hours away). We later managed to pay for the baggage using a third partyβs bank card, as we only had cash. Later, while proceeding to the aircraft, an airport employee handling baggage took my companionβs suitcase. He overheard a Russian word of strong language in our private conversation and incorrectly assumed that it was directed at him. We had not spoken to him, had no visual contact with him, and gave him no reason for such an assumption. The employee stopped us, refused to listen to our explanations or apologies, followed us onto the aircraft, and demanded that we leave the flight. No clear reason or legal basis was provided by either the airport employee or Ryanair staff. We were given no opportunity to properly clarify the situation and were ultimately denied boarding and removed from the aircraft. Given that the only distinctive element in this interaction was the fact that we were speaking Russian, I have reason to believe that the disproportionate reaction and subsequent actions may have been influenced by prejudice based on our nationality. As a direct result of this incident, we lost the full value of our tickets and our pre-booked accommodation in Barcelona. This situation caused significant financial loss, stress, and moral damage. I consider that our rights as passengers were violated. I respectfully request: A full investigation into the incident and the grounds on which we were removed from the flight; Clarification of the role of Ryanair staff in this decision; A full refund of the tickets; Compensation for the lost accommodation and moral damage caused. Please find attached screenshots of our tickets and the confirmation of our pre-booked accommodation. You can reach me via this email Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your reply. Sincerely, Sofia Kireeva Sofiakireeva31@gmail.comOverall
