Claim escalated to airline

I was travelling from London to Helsinki with SAS on the same booking, with a connection in Stockholm. I got off the flight from London at approximately 10:15, and my connecting flight from Stockholm to Helsinki was scheduled to depart at 10:45. After leaving the aircraft, we had to go through passport control and then an additional security check. There was a long queue. We repeatedly told the staff that we only had about 10 minutes to reach our gate and that we were going to miss our connecting flight. We were repeatedly told that everyone was going to the same flight. Despite this, I missed my connecting flight to Helsinki. At the SAS desk, I was told that they would make a compensation claim, but I was required to purchase a new ticket myself. The new ticket cost €164.34. I was also told that my checked baggage would arrive in Stockholm, so I waited approximately 40 minutes for my baggage. I then found out that my baggage had never left London and would be sent after me. This caused significant inconvenience and additional expense. I am requesting reimbursement of the €164.34 I had to pay for the replacement flight, as well as any compensation I am legally entitled to. I also lost an entire day of my planned time in Finland before returning to work. I had planned to use this day as part of my holiday and to rest before returning to work, but due to the missed connection and the resulting delay, I lost the entire day.

Claim escalated to airline

I had my direct return flight from Vilnius to Stockholm at Sunday 16 August. I did my check-in online, at 13:59, and was just waiting til 17:25, when boarding should have started. When I arrived, group 1 and 2 on the screen were boarding. I waited, there were some other people next to me as well. Then employee nodded that we can board, I checked my QR-code. and it got declined. Staff member said that flight got overbooked, and I can`t enter. I was surprised, since I already did online check-in, and already had my sit number in electronic ticket. They said that they will offer other flight with change - to Brussels, and then to Stockholm, and some voucher. I was shocked, cause I bought direct flight, and the time I would have arrived in Stockholm, would be around 11 PM, and original time I planned was 18:20. I asked how it happened, and stuff said that its on airline, and they will give me seat, if someone will not arrive at time. They sent other passenger ( lady on wheelchair with accompanying person, which was understandable, why she got priority), and I was left there. Then, three minutes before the gate closed, they allowed me to enter, but checked my passport before allowing me to go. I got my seat eventually, but I got really stressed and upset.

We found out at the ticket counter that our flight had been cancelled, the airline and orbitz had failed to communicate the cancellation. SAS refused to reroute us and said to speak with orbitz. Orbitz is refusing to rebook us on another carrier so we had no other option but refund. However rebooking our tickets cost us approximately 5,000 vs the approximately $800 we paid originally for our one way flight. This extreme cost could have been prevented if we had been notified earlier of the cancelled flight which we were told at the ticket counter was cancelled in May. August 16th.

Successful claim

No reason given

They cancelled the flight one hour before departure. I asked the customer service (physical) if I could reject the alternative flight they provided me departing 20th July with a stop in Hamburg. She said yes and I that I would get the full reimbursement of my cancelled flight CPH-FRA. Therefore. I want to claim the reimbursement of the cancelled flight and compensation for last minute cancellation, not only compensation.

It contained things that weren't mine, including my reading glasses, which I had bought in Madrid in January. I need my glasses for close-up reading. I went to the airport that same day to file a claim, but they told me it would be better to go home and submit it online. I did so that same day, but I haven't received any response. That's why I'm trying again today. I need my glasses, which were very expensive. I NEED ANWERS ABOUT THIS URGENT, I NEED MY GLASSES

We arrived in Lithuania late at night and, after waiting for the last piece of luggage, we were then directed to find out which form we needed to complete regarding the missing baggage. After that, we had to collect our rental car and drive approximately 1.5 hours to our accommodation. Travelling with three small children was already challenging, but having our luggage missing made the situation significantly more stressful. All of my children’s clothes, underwear, pyjamas, and summer shoes were in the missing luggage. As it was nighttime, we had no clean clothes for the children, and I did not even have a single nappy for my youngest child, who still needs nappies at night. This caused considerable stress and inconvenience at a time when we were already exhausted from travelling. The uncertainty surrounding our luggage also had a significant impact on the beginning of our holiday. I found it very difficult to relax or properly enjoy our trip because I was constantly worried about whether and when our luggage would be found. Although we were eventually informed that you had located our luggage, it still took another full day for it to be delivered to us. Overall, this was a very disappointing and stressful start to our holiday, particularly when travelling with three young children. The loss and delayed delivery of our luggage caused substantial inconvenience, additional expenses, and unnecessary stress that could have been avoided.

Emmanuel’s checked luggage was mishandled after we were unable to continue our journey to Namibia. We were travelling from Copenhagen to Namibia via Switzerland. When we arrived in Switzerland, Emmanuel, who is 14 years old, was not allowed to continue to Namibia because his physical birth certificate was required and we only had a digital copy. As a result, Emmanuel was sent back to Copenhagen alone on a flight. His checked luggage remained in Switzerland. As a 14-year-old travelling alone, Emmanuel was not able to collect or manage his checked baggage himself, and he had no practical control over the situation. This caused significant inconvenience and additional difficulties for him and our family. The missing luggage also caused additional expenses, as we had to replace essential items that were packed in the suitcase.

Copenhagen-Corfu

Economy

Because all our clothes and sports gear were in the delayed luggage, we arrived in Corfu without the items we needed. The purpose of our trip was to attend an Ajax football camp, where my son was participating and I was expected to work as the head coach. On the first day, my son had to play in ordinary sneakers because he did not have his football equipment, which negatively affected his performance. I also had to attend the camp wearing the T-shirt and shorts I had travelled in, which was inappropriate and unprofessional for my role as head coach. We therefore had to urgently purchase essential items, including clothing, T-shirts, sandals, underwear, and other basic necessities. These unexpected expenses were caused directly by the baggage delay and were not included in our travel budget. The delay caused significant inconvenience and additional costs for both my son and me during our first days in Greece.

Claim escalated to airline

It has now been over two months since my flight, and I have still not received my luggage. I went to the Athens airport in person two days ago and spent three hours searching for the bag with airport staff. They confirmed that the baggage never arrived at the airport and suggested it was never boarded in Copenhagen. The Property Irregularity Report (PIR) number is ATHSK12105. The bag was a recently purchased carry-on containing books and expensive clothing. While I have not incurred high daily traveling expenses, I am demanding full monetary reimbursement for the lost baggage and its contents in compliance with European Union regulations. If this matter is not resolved and the compensation is not processed immediately, I will be forced to pursue formal legal action. Best regards, Angelos Bouras

Hi Team, Good day! We travelled from Abu Dhabi to Copenhagen and arrived at 7:39. Our SAS flight from Copenhagen to Stavanger was scheduled to depart at 8:35. We reached the departure gate on time while boarding was still in progress. However, we were denied boarding and were informed that our booking had been removed. As a result, we had to wait approximately 15 hours for the next available flight. We would appreciate it if you could investigate this issue and explain why our booking was removed despite our arriving at the gate during boarding. Thank you. Kind regards, Prabhakar

No reason given

Claim for Compensation under Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 I am submitting this claim regarding my SAS flight from Copenhagen (CPH) to Stuttgart (STR). My original flight was booked for 18 July 2026 at 08:00. However, without ANY prior notification, my flight was apparently cancelled and I was automatically rebooked onto a flight departing one day earlier, on 17 July 2026 at 08:00. At NO point did I receive any email, text message, or other notification from either SAS or Opodo informing me that my original flight had been cancelled or that I had been rebooked to an earlier flight. The only communication I received was my boarding pass, which was sent to me by email at approximately 2:10 a.m. !!! on 17 July 2026 - only about six hours before the departure of the rebooked flight and 3 hours before I would've had to leave my house to catch that flight I didn't know I had! As I was asleep at that time and would have had to leave for the airport around 5:00 a.m., it was impossible for me to become aware of the change and catch the flight. I therefore missed the flight solely because I had NEVER been informed of the schedule change. Afterwards, I contacted Opodo with a call, who informed me that they had not been notified of the schedule change by SAS either and therefore had been unable to inform me earlier. I then contacted SAS directly by calling. The SAS representative apologized a lot and confirmed that SAS had failed to notify me of the cancellation and schedule change! And that phone call should also have been recorded by SAS. I was informed that this should not have happened and that the error was on SAS’s side. The representative then rebooked me free of charge onto a replacement flight departing on 19 July 2026, one day later than my originally scheduled journey, which I accepted. As I was not informed of the cancellation or significant schedule change within the time limits required under Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, I respectfully request the compensation to which I am entitled under the Regulation. I appreciate your review of my claim and look forward to your response.

Request to confirm refund request and booking status

Dear SAS Customer Service, I am contacting you regarding my booking with booking reference X52NLM, which was purchased through MyTrip. On 2 July 2026, MyTrip informed me by email that Trip 2 had been cancelled by the airline, while Trip 1 remained valid and on time. On the day of travel (12 July 2026), the MyTrip application still showed my first flight Stockholm (ARN) – Copenhagen (CPH), flight SK1407, as scheduled. However, when I arrived at Stockholm Airport, I was informed that my reservation could not be found, and I was unable to travel. As I have unfortunately received conflicting information throughout this situation, I would like to verify the status directly with SAS. Could you please confirm: Whether a refund request has been submitted for booking reference X52NLM. If so, whether the refund has already been approved or is currently being processed. Whether my reservation was cancelled or modified by SAS or by MyTrip. Why my reservation could not be found at Stockholm Airport despite the booking still appearing valid in the MyTrip application. This information will help me follow up on my ongoing claim with MyTrip. Thank you very much for your assistance. Kind regards, Sabrina Bezzola

I had a connecting all-SAS flight on 15.07.2026: Manchester - Copenhagen SK540, time 09:40-09:10 Copenhagen-Palanga, SK2746, time 13:10-12:40 The first plane was delayed due to some luggage delays in Manchester airport. When me and my collegues arrived to the gates in Copenhagen, the plane was still there at the tube, but we were refused to board the plane argumenting that we already received the re-booking flight for late evening. I would not write a complain...but you know... the pilot have seen us, we were waiving, and there was not only me, but 6 of us. The plane Copenhagen-Palanga has no any connections in Palanga (it is a final small town destination). It is the first case in my 25 yrs flying practice that the place couldn't water for 10 minutes knowing that the same Company (SAS) flight already arrived in Copenhagen... I am a Captain myself (of a Seagoing passenger ship) and we ALWAYS wait 10-20 minutes if a group of Paxes is late (especially connecting flight of the same Company)...

SAS Customer Service, Flight details: My original SAS flight was: β€’ Booking reference: Z28DJK β€’ SAS flight: SK2679 β€’ Date: 9 July 2026 β€’ Route: Stockholm (ARN) – Milan Malpensa (MXP/Ferno VA) β€’ Scheduled departure: 06:20 β€’ Scheduled arrival: 09:10 This flight was cancelled. After the cancellation, I was rebooked on Lufthansa: β€’ Lufthansa flight: LH0803 β€’ Date: 9 July 2026 β€’ Route: Stockholm (ARN) – Frankfurt (FRA) β€’ Scheduled departure: 13:10 β€’ Scheduled arrival: 15:20 Connecting flight: β€’ Lufthansa flight: LH0254 β€’ Date: 9 July 2026 β€’ Route: Frankfurt (FRA) – Milan Malpensa (MXP/Ferno VA) β€’ Scheduled departure: 16:40 β€’ Scheduled arrival: 18:00 However, due to the delay and disruption, I missed my connection and had to be rebooked again, causing further delay and inconvenience. I am requesting compensation and reimbursement due to the cancellation and major disruption of my flight. I was travelling with my two best friends from Sweden to Milan on SAS. Our original flight was scheduled to depart at 06:20 and arrive in Milan at 09:10. We specifically chose this direct flight because it was only 3 hours and 10 minutes, which allowed us to enjoy our planned day in Milan. We had already booked our hotel, lunch, dinner, and other arrangements. Unfortunately, the flight was cancelled only around 6 hours before departure, which caused a major disruption to our plans. We were rebooked, but we were not given the same travel arrangements. My two friends were able to travel together, while I was separated and given a different itinerary. When I asked SAS staff about available options, I was informed that there were no more Business Class seats available and that Economy was also full. However, when I checked later, I noticed that a Business Class seat was still available. If I had received the correct information at the time, I would have chosen that option and travelled together with my friends. Instead, I was rebooked on a Lufthansa flight with a connection. I did not originally plan to have a layover; this was only because of the rebooking after the SAS cancellation. The SAS flight was also delayed, and we departed around 13:20 instead of 13:10. We landed in Milan Linate around 15:30, which caused me to miss my Lufthansa connection. After arriving, I went to the lounge because I was extremely stressed and not feeling well. When I went to the gate approximately 20 minutes before departure, the gate was already closed. I was told to go to another gate, but it was too far away and, unfortunately, that gate was also already closed. I then went to the reception desk, where I was rebooked onto another flight. My original Lufthansa connection was scheduled from 16:40 to 18:00, but I was instead rebooked to a flight from 20:50 to 22:05. This meant I had to spend an additional 4 hours and 10 minutes waiting in Frankfurt before continuing my journey. Because of this disruption, I lost a significant part of my travel day. I was originally expected to arrive in Milan at 09:10, but I arrived much later after multiple delays and an additional flight connection. This situation also caused additional expenses and inconvenience. I had planned to share transportation and other costs with my friends, but because I was separated from them, I had to arrange and pay for these expenses alone. While waiting in Frankfurt, I contacted SAS customer service in Sweden and explained the situation regarding compensation, refund, and reimbursement for additional expenses such as taxi and food. The representative I spoke with explained that she could not guarantee the outcome but mentioned that I would probably be eligible for a refund. I am attaching pictures and screenshots of my additional expenses, including taxi costs and drinks/food purchased during my journey to Portofino. I kindly ask SAS to review my case and provide compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 for the cancelled flight and significant delay in reaching my final destination, as well as reimbursement for reasonable additional expenses caused by this disruption. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response and confirmation regarding the compensation and reimbursement. The disruption caused me a lot of stress and disappointment. I was very sad because we had planned this trip together with my two best friends, but due to the cancellation and rebooking, I had to travel separately and missed the experience we had planned together. The situation was very stressful, and I was feeling unwell with stomach pain while dealing with the uncertainty, delays, and changes to my travel. I missed my best friend’s birthday celebration, which was one of the reasons for our trip. I also lost the opportunity to give my best friend his birthday gift as planned. I had prepared an envelope with 5,000 SEK as a gift, but unfortunately, I also lost the envelope during this stressful travel disruption. This caused me both emotional disappointment and a financial loss. Kind regards,

I was heading on a fishing holiday with 11 others and my case never left Heathrow airport. Upon arriving at Alta airport we waited over an hour and nearly missed our transport due to not being helped to find luggage. I was left with no fishing gear, clothes or medication for 5 days and had no help from the airline to find or locate it. I had to keep calling everyday to check to see if it was found. Once it was found it was held at Alta airport until I called because I needed my medication and they then forwarded it on to the fishing camp. Once it arrived my case was severely damaged and had clearly been opened and not sealed back up properly so not only did I have to pay for new clothes I now have to buy a new suitcase although my case was only a year or so old and had only been used once prior

Huono ja sekava asiakaspalvelu

Dear SAS Customer Service, I am submitting a claim regarding the cancellation of our flight. Our original flight was cancelled on the day of departure. We were initially rebooked to a flight on the following day, which would have resulted in an overnight stay. However, no hotel accommodation or clear assistance was offered to us at that time, even after we asked about it. Later, we received a message stating that the flight was delayed and that we should book a hotel at SAS’s expense. When we returned to the service desk to ask about this message, the staff could not explain it and simply told us it was probably related to the cancelled flight. The information we received throughout the process was confusing and inconsistent. Eventually, we were rebooked via Copenhagen and arrived in Helsinki at approximately 19:30 instead of our originally scheduled arrival time of around 08:00, resulting in a delay of about 11.5 hours. We kindly request: * An explanation of the reason for the flight cancellation. * An assessment of our entitlement to compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004. * Reimbursement of any compensation to which we are entitled. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response. Kind regards, Maria

Influence by other flights

The airline only helped by rebooking me on the next available flight. They did not provide a hotel, meal vouchers, or any other assistance. I was told that I had to arrange and pay for my own hotel and food during the approximately 14-hour wait. This caused significant inconvenience and additional expenses

on may 24 my flight landed late which caused us to miss our connecting flight to Lisbon. we went to the information desk and was directed to member service and they assisted us in getting another airline connecting flight. This caused us to be in Copenhagen 7 hours. We had to eat a meal which cost 100.00. When we landed in Lisbon we went to lost and claims department and they discovered that Copenhagen terminal never put our luggage to Lisbon. The following day they delivered our luggage to our hotel Dolce Wyndham. The hotel told us it was damaged and we made a report. The luggage was damaged so bad it crushed my crystal initial engraved goblet which I bought years ago for 250.00 my dental retainer was broke which cost 400.00 my evening lingerie cost 100.00 several suits were soiled because my hair cream jar was crushed 3 suits 50 per suit (150.00) my lotion jar $45.00 and $20.00 for uber to mall to purchase a new luggage. Total Expenses including luggage Total $1,125

Arriving at 4h in the morning at the airport the flight was last moment cancelled and an other flight was proposed the next day but I had to travel on that particular day to attend the end of a wedding . So SAS is preventing me to assist to this very important event by cancelling that flight and not willing to rebook me on an other morning flight. No lounge provided I had to pay it myself as well as an other ticket last minute with Norvegian. 12h waiting at the airport, A voucher of 10 euros only has been provided while in Oslo any sandwich is double that price, this is ridiculous customer service . That is why I am asking the maximum compensation as per UE261.
