Influence by other flights
My flight from JFK was delayed which made it impossible to make connecting flight in Copenhagen. I was then redirected from Copenhagan to Amsterdam before flying to my final destination in Prague. No updates as to location of my luggage were provided by agents or on the tracking website so I had to purchase toiletries and clothing for a work conference / presentations.- New York-Prague

Problems at airport
Arrival at final destination: I arrived in Iceland with approximately a 6-hour delay, around 15:30, compared to my original planned arrival time. What the airline told me and when: At the time of the cancellation of flight SK2756, the airline did not provide any clear explanation at the airport. I was only offered an alternative itinerary involving a significantly longer journey with two additional connections, as shown in the attached documents. Care provided by the airline: SAS did not provide any assistance such as meals, vouchers, or other care. I also lost a prepaid meal on the CopenhagenβKeflavΓk segment due to the rebooking. How the incident inconvenienced me: I had no realistic option to decline the rebooking, as I had important matters to attend to in Iceland on the same day. The total journey took almost 12 hours, involved multiple transfers (including Hamburg and Frankfurt), and was physically exhausting and highly stressful. Missed events or financial loss: In addition to the lost prepaid meal, I incurred extra expenses at the airports during the extended journey.- Poznan-Keflavik

My trip was from HEL, via ARN, to CPH, from where I had booked a train to Aarhus. HEL-ARN was supposed to be 19:40 - 19:10 (the latter being arrival time in Swedish time.) The ARN-CPH flight was supposed to be 21:05 - 20:35. The above would happen on 28 Dec. I had booked a train ticket with an assigned seat with DSB (the locally operating train company in Denmark), from CPH to my home in Aarhus, booked for 00:12, on 29.12. Giving me around 2h to unboard, collect my luggage, and make my way to the train station. This ticket cost 152dkk, or 20,35eur, and was non-refundable, and non-movable. Departure in Helsinki was delayed. After landing in ARN, I was still in the plane at 20:55, the doors opening shortly after. I would be booked with a flight that would arrive in CPH at 8:06 on Dec 29, more than 11h later than my inital arrival time. I would arrive in Aarhus by train around 13:40, still more than 9h later than planned. More details below: The first signs of delay were after boarding in HEL. The captain announced unforseen weather warranting de-icing. The weather was not unseasonal for Helsinki in late December, and temperatures on the ground had remained around or below freezing all week. The storm brewing along the west coast didn't seem to be hitting HEL hard, but was causing more problems in airports up north. We waited for more than 30min to start moving towards the de-icing station, where the start of the process seemed slow. During the flight, passengers had been told on the PA that the delay would happen, and that passengers for the ARN-CPH flight would be given instructions. We were at no point given exact instructions in time. We were told, once, which was hard to hear, where to go for the SAS passenger care desk, no further context. Shortly after landing, I got a text message stating my ticket had been cancelled due to the delay, and I'd been booked onto another flight next morning. This was before the ARN-CPH flight's departure, so no word on if it was possible to get us on that plane. Before stepping onto the airport, at 20:56, I got a text message (SMS) with a hotel voucher, and a little information about the hotel. This was appreciated, but I still didn't know what my options were. I'd received another SMS while in flight mode, at 20:50, that I'd been rebooked to another flight due to the delay. The SMS provided a link it claimed would inform me about my options, but the page just lead me to a page for managing my booking, with no options or information relevant to my current situation. That I had to find through searching via google myself. Once I'd found the passenger care desk, I heard that one passenger who'd ran, had managed to be booked onto this connecting flight. The rest of us were out of luck. The person at the desk claimed to look for other booking options, but found none that made more sense with what options she said was available to her. My options were also limited by the fact that she stated there was a rule that me and my luggage had to arrive at the final intended airport, even though BLL would've been an option considering my home destination in Aarhus. I asked what to do regarding my train ticket, but received no answer at this time. I was handed a pamphlet with some information around the rules regarding my situation. The desk clerk couldn't help me further, due to the fact that the desk was closing for the night. I thanked her for her time, and was given directions to the hotel. The hotel booking included breakfast, which I appreciate. At the hotel, just after midnight, I book a new train ticket to replace the one I wouldn't be able to use, and couldn't move or cancel for a refund with the train company. I needed a ticket with a seat, to replace the one I had, due to the 4h length of the train ride. The only remaining tickets at this point were 1st class ones, unless I was ok waiting for an additional 6h+ after arriving with this new flight. The 670dkk receipt for this ticket is included in this claim. The hotel booking included breakfast, for which I'm grateful. Upon arrival in CPH, I had a couple of hours to wait, and needed something small to eat and drink, purchasing this at the airport. (Receipt of 97dkk included.) I received no further information or contact from SAS. I have sent them two claims for compensation via their own portal, one for the unexpected costs incurred by the delay (mainly the train ticket), and the overall compensation claim for the delay. They've replied rejecting both. The delay claim was rejected citing that they do not need to compensate for delays due to weather. I do not understand this, as the weather was nothing unusual for the area and the time of year, and it had not shifted drastically in the last few days compared to the weather estimates. They rejected my train ticket expenses with the motivation that this trip happened after arrival at the final destination airport, but the rules seem to state that they need to cover for transport to my actual final place of stay, such as my residence, if such arrangements have been disrupted due to their delay. I take issue with the lack of detailed information, and what seems to be a poor preparedness for normal, seasonal flight conditions, and that I have to bear the additional travel costs as a result. Someone with less economic flexibility may have been stranded at the airport.- Helsinki-Copenhagen

Cancelled, delayed and terrible customer service and in flight attendants rude
My outbound flight was cancelled and I didn't want to accept the proposed change, only wanted to accept the return flight still; however when i called to get refunded for the cancelled flight ( I had to be an entirely new ticket) the rep only offered the VAT refund. The return flight was 20 mins delayed, the connecting gate was 23 mins away and I was barely able to make the flight, you didn't call ahead even to let them know i was coming and it was delayed. When i got on the return flight, the attendants were rude because i was so late and they wouldn't even let me sit in my seat which i paid for and made me sit in the back. I want a full refund for my outbound flight, not just the VAT and i want a refund for the price of the seat i paid for on the return flightOverall
you cancelled my flight an only offered a 50euro refund, the return flight was delayed by 20 mins and the connecting flight was 25 mins away, i barely made it and couldn't sit in the seat i paid for

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to formally complain about the continued delay of my checked baggage on my flight from Copenhagen to DΓΌsseldorf on Monday, 05.january 26, operated by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Despite several written inquiries on my part, I have not received any satisfactory or actionable response so far. According to your baggage tracking system, my suitcase has already arrived in DΓΌsseldorf. However, I have not been informed where it is being held, nor how or when it will be delivered to me. I am willing to collect the baggage myself in DΓΌsseldorf if necessary, but I have not been provided with any relevant location or instructions. This lack of communication and resolution is unacceptable. Due to the prolonged absence of my baggage, I have been forced to purchase essential replacement items for daily use, including clothing and toiletries. In addition, I had previously purchased warm clothing from ZARA specifically for this trip, all of which was packed in the delayed suitcase and therefore unavailable to me. These expenses were necessary, reasonable, and directly caused by the delay of my baggage. I hereby formally claim reimbursement for all such interim expenses. Please note that under Article 19 of the Montreal Convention, the carrier is liable for damage caused by delay in the carriage of baggage. Furthermore, Article 22(2) of the Montreal Convention establishes the carrierβs liability for checked baggage up to the applicable SDR limit. Your responsibility to compensate passengers for reasonable expenses incurred as a result of delayed baggage is therefore beyond dispute. I expect: 1. Immediate and clear information on the exact location of my baggage in DΓΌsseldorf and how it will be returned to me without further delay. 2. Full reimbursement of my documented expenses for essential items and replacement clothing. Written confirmation that my claim is being processed in accordance with the Montreal Convention. Should I not receive a satisfactory response within 7 days, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter further, including formal complaints to the relevant aviation authorities and the pursuit of my claim through legal channels. I trust that SAS will now act promptly and in compliance with its legal obligations. Yours faithfully, Marion Krammenschneider Baggage tag Numbers: 0117752306 markra28@web.de +49 163 5943261Overall

It was not stated during my communication with the airline, nor on their website or in any email correspondence, that the cancellation was due to weather-related issues. This explanation was only provided after I submitted a formal compensation claim to SAS. Furthermore, the airline was unable to offer an alternative flight until three days later, which resulted in the loss of my planned vacation.- Stockholm-Funchal

Technical problems
The flight from Athens to Stockholm scheduled to depart at 12.30 was canceled due to air traffic control while other flights resumed approximately one hour later. I was rebooked on a later flight departing at 23.30 with a stopover in Istanbul and arrived in i Stockholm the nest morning with a significant delay. On the replacement ticket, checked baggage was not included and I was charged 225 EUR for my suitcase due to the cancelation and rebooking- Athens-Stockholm

The flight SK0834 (Paris CDG β Oslo, 22 November) was delayed at departure. While waiting at the gate, the cabin crew made announcements over the loudspeakers informing passengers that the aircraft toilet was not functioning. Passengers were instructed to use the airport toilets before boarding, as the onboard toilet could not be used. After some time, the crew announced that the flight could not depart without a functioning toilet and that a technician had to be called to repair the issue. This caused a significant delay at origin. As a result of this delay, I missed my original connecting flight SK4424 (Oslo β TromsΓΈ). I was rebooked on flight SK4432 and arrived in TromsΓΈ at 23:35 instead of the scheduled arrival time of 18:40, resulting in a delay of more than 5 hours.- Paris-Tromso

Not Responding to a refund request
I originally had a booking on 30th Oct 2025 from Oslo to Kirkenes, we were staying in Gran Canaria and were originally leaving Gran Canaria on 29th Oct 2025 on a separate booking and then flying from Oslo to Kirkenes the next day. We had a major issue with the accommodation in Gran Canaria that was not getting solved, so we started to look at the possibility of maybe coming home early. I logged onto my SAS account on 13th Oct 2025, and I noticed that the Oslo to Kirkenes leg on booking number UEA7BE had a schedule change, which meant that, if need be, we could change that booking free of charge. We waited until 15th Oct 2025 to give booking and the host a chance to rectify our issues with the accommodation, this they did not do, so on 15th Oct 2025, I went in and logged onto my SAS account to change the flights. When it came to the Oslo to Kirkenes booking, despite there being a schedule change and me never accepting the schedule change, the option was gone. I tried to call SAS, but was kept on hold for ages, and as I needed to change that leg as I had already rebooked the other booking, which was Gran Canaria to Oslo, I had to pay an extra Β£363.00 for the change. I tried to call SAS on a few more occasions, but never managed to get through, so I gave up and sent in a refund request via the online form on 19th Oct 2025. I have heard nothing back, went onto chat, they could not help, have replied to the original email a few times, sent emails to kundservice@sas.se and customercare@sas.se, no responses at all, I just want my refund of Β£363 if anyone can help, the case number reference is 07238421.- Economy

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unprofessional and Disrespectful Conduct at Check-in β Bangkok Airport (BKK) Dear Sir or Madam, On [insert date], I was treated at the SAS check-in counter at Bangkok Airport (BKK) in a manner that was neither professional nor acceptable. I had mistakenly queued at the Business Class counter and politely asked whether it would be possible to select a window seat, as your email from the previous day indicated that several seats were still available. The response of your staff member, however, was disrespectful, condescending, and entirely inappropriate. Her tone and general attitude made it abundantly clear that I was being treated as a βsecond-classβ customer. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and falls far below the level of service and professionalism I expect from SAS. The interaction was so negative that I ultimately decided not to proceed with an upgrade, even though I had originally intended to do so at the counter. I therefore request a written explanation of this incident, including how such behaviour is possible and what measures will be taken to ensure that passengers are not treated in such a degrading manner in the future. An apology as well as an appropriate form of compensation is also expected. I have previously been a satisfied SAS customer, but this incident is entirely unacceptable to me. I therefore expect a prompt and concrete response. Sincerely, Carsten Baumgartner baumgartnercarsten31@gmail.com- Bangkok-Copenhagen

Problems at airport
I am writing to request reimbursement for necessary expenses incurred following the cancellation of my SAS flight from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Vilnius. The flight did not land due to the closure of Vilnius Airport, and passengers were returned to Stockholm. Although the disruption was beyond your control, SAS did not provide accommodation or transportation arrangements. As a result, I had to arrange accommodation and basic necessities myself in order to continue my journey and attend a business meeting scheduled immediately after the rescheduled flight. Please find attached the following receipts for reimbursement: 1. Hotel accommodation for one night in Stockholm. 3.674,25 SEK 2. Train tickets for travel between the airport and the hotel (both directions). 640 SEK 3. Purchase of essential clothing (underwear) β as I was travelling without checked baggage and needed basic items for overnight stay and next-day meeting. 1534 SEK 4. Purchase of essential meals (tea at the airport) 63 SEK These purchases were strictly limited to essential needs, in line with the Right to Care obligations under EU Regulation 261/2004. I kindly ask SAS to reimburse these reasonable expenses at your earliest convenience. Should you require any additional documentation or details, please let me know β I will be happy to provide them. Thank you for your understanding and assistance. Kind regards, Julija ReklaitΔ Booking reference: XSASBJ Date of flight: 21.10 (postponed to 22.10)- Stockholm-Vilnius

Poor customer service and poor claim policy on missing bags
I departed from Indianapolis on Sep 17. My baggage from JFK did not arrive in OSL. We filled out a missing baggage claim report in Oslo and got a PIR. One bag was delivered the next day but the SAS website said the other bag was being returned to Indianapolis. The bag eventually showed up right before we were boarding a cruise. My claim was delayed because it said 21 days had passed. The cruise was 13 nights and we did not return to Indianapolis until October 1. Since I filed a lost baggage claim on Sep 18 and did not return home until Oct 1, the 21 day clock should have started Oct 1 since it was impossible to file any additional claim information prior to that date.Overall

Very very bad service on board
On my flight from tromso to oslo on the 29th of Sept,18:50, The only male crew on board assumed my partner was recording a video of him doing the safety demo whereas she was just recording me and he happened to be at the back. The crew rudely demanded us to delete the video and threatened to call the police and have us offloaded because of this misunderstanding. The whole time my partner and i obliged to his request of deleting the video and wasnt rude back. We wouldve deleted if he asked nicely as well instead of assuming and being rude. He was then rolling his eyes throughout the flight and did not maintain professionalism. This misdemeanor caused us to feel embarassed throughout the flight and scared as we were worried he would come and lash out at us again.Overall

Influence by other flights
Hi there, Iβd like to share what happened during my recent trip. My morning flight from Γ lesund to Oslo was delayed by almost three hours, which caused me to miss my connecting flight SK4743 from Oslo to Brussels at 09:20. I was then rebooked on flight SK4745 at 16:25 from Oslo to Brussels, which was also delayed by about 1 hour and 40 minutes. After nearly 12 hours of traveling, I finally arrived in Brussels. What was especially frustrating was the lack of information β no clear explanation was provided for the delays, and the staff seemed quite confused. We were given coupons to buy water or food, but they didnβt work anywhere, and no one was able to assist us. I would really appreciate it if you could look into this situation and let me know if thereβs any compensation or clarification regarding the delays. We departed from Denmark, but after about 30 minutes of flight, the pilots announced that due to technical reasons we would return to the airport. However, we were kept on the plane for around two hours without being allowed to leave, which was a long wait. Because of this, we arrived in Seoul with a significant delay.- Copenhagen-Seoul
