Smart bag with removable battery no allowance
Dear Sir/Madam My name is MILTIADIS Papadopoulos and I was a passenger of Turkish airlines of the flight TK0071 on 22/05/2026 from Hong Kong to Thessaloniki via Instabul. I am a golden member of Star Alliance with no133160650 and I travel often between Greece and China since I am a businessman. During the check in procedure your employee (Mrs Hayat Keran), refused to check in one smart bag which I had with removable battery although I show her Turkish policy airlines regarding removable batteries allowance of smart airport bags. She could understand the difference of removable battery from a non removable one. I explained her again and again and also other members of airport staff tried to explain her with no success. As a consequence she refused me to check in this luggage and I had to pay a courier to send it to my final destination (Thessaloniki Greece). I am waiting for the cost of this action upon which I will file a lawsuit with a lawyer and request compensation from Turkish airlines failing to comply with FAA regulation See the regulation:Β 49Β CFRΒ 175.10(a)(26) IATA regulation and Turkish regulation (TΓΌrkiye's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM) I had all the good will to explain her all the details but she didnβt want to cooperate in any way and in the final point she was also impolite. I definitely will not choose again your airline since your employees are not trained on their profession as they should be. Feel free to contact me either by email or telephone number +306944663516Overall

My flight TK1062 from Ljubljana (LJU) to Istanbul (IST) on 12 January 2026 was cancelled by Turkish Airlines less than 24 hours before departure. My original itinerary was: Ljubljana β Istanbul β Toronto β Vancouver. At the time of the disruption, Turkish Airlines officially informed me through their website, booking management page, mobile notifications, and cancellation communications that the flight was disrupted/cancelled due to βoperational reasons.β I have screenshots documenting these notifications from multiple official Turkish Airlines channels. Following the cancellation of the LjubljanaβIstanbul segment, Turkish Airlines did not proactively offer me a reasonable alternative route or rebooking solution. I had to contact the airline multiple times myself in order to arrange a replacement itinerary. Eventually, I was rebooked onto a different route: Ljubljana β Istanbul β Vancouver. Due to the cancellation and rebooking, I was forced to stay overnight in Istanbul because no better connection was offered to me. As a result, I arrived in Vancouver approximately 18 hours later than originally scheduled. After the disruption, I submitted a compensation claim under EU Regulation 261/2004. However, Turkish Airlines later rejected my claim and stated that the cancellation was allegedly caused by bad weather conditions and extraordinary circumstances beyond the airlineβs control. I challenged this decision several times because the airlineβs explanation directly contradicts the information originally provided to passengers at the time of the disruption. Despite multiple follow-ups, Turkish Airlines did not provide objective supporting evidence such as weather reports, airport closure notices, or air traffic control restrictions specifically affecting flight TK1062. Instead, the airline continued to repeat that the disruption was outside of their control while ignoring the documented βoperational reasonsβ notifications issued through their own systems. I have retained: screenshots showing βoperational reasonsβ cancellation notices correspondence with Turkish Airlines repeated claim rejections booking and flight details Due to the contradictory explanations provided by the airline and the lack of supporting evidence for extraordinary circumstances, I would like this case to be reviewed for compensation eligibility under EU Regulation 261/2004.- Ljubljana-Vancouver

Influence by other flights
Dear Abdul Wahab KHATRI, First of all, we apologize for the adverse effect of this irregularity on your travel plan. We have determined that flight TK0709 Karachi/Istanbul on March 24, 2026, experienced a 46-minute delay due to reasons beyond our control. The connection time between flight TK0709 Karachi/Istanbul and its connecting flight TK0340 on the same date is 2 hours and 15 minutes. If the delay had been 1 hour and 16 minutes, you would have missed your connecting flight. We would like to inform you that the delay on your TK0709 Karachi / Istanbul flight on the date of March 24, 2026 flight did not cause you to miss your connecting flight. As a result, there was no disruption to your onward journey. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we are unable to approve your compensation claim in this instance. We would like you to be sure that we do our best to perform our flights on time. We hope to host you better in your future travels. Sincerely Yours, Serhat T. Promised new tickets from airline workers
Dear Turkish Airlines Customer Relations, I am writing to formally request reimbursement regarding a serious issue we encountered on our recent journey with Turkish Airlines. Passenger names: - Armin NeziroviΔ - DΕΎeneta EljeskoviΔ - Infant (Ubejda NeziroviΔ) Flight details: - Flight TK0095 from Jeddah to Istanbul (13 April 2026) - Connecting flight TK1017 from Istanbul to Pristina As documented in the attached boarding passes and medical report, our infant daughter suffered a significant finger injury at the airport in Jeddah prior to boarding. We were forced to seek immediate medical attention at King Abdul-Aziz Hospital in Jeddah, where she received emergency treatment, including stitches for a partial fingertip amputation. Due to this emergency, we were unable to board the scheduled flight. At the airport, Turkish Airlines staff explicitly informed us that, given the medical emergencyβand also considering that we were traveling on Umrah visas with limited flexibilityβwe would be able to take a later flight without any additional charges once the situation was resolved. However, upon returning to the airport after medical treatment, we were informed that this was not possible and were required to purchase new tickets at a cost of approximately 700 EUR in order to return home. This situation is deeply concerning for the following reasons: - We acted in good faith based on clear and explicit instructions from your staff - The circumstances were an unavoidable medical emergency involving an infant - The refusal upon return directly contradicts what we were promised at the airport - Our visa situation (Umrah) made delays and uncertainty particularly critical We would also like to highlight that such a situation raises concerns under general consumer protection principles, including the obligation not to mislead passengers and to provide accurate and reliable information at critical moments. Passengers must be able to rely on instructions given by airline representatives, especially in emergency circumstances. We are therefore requesting full reimbursement of the additional 700 EUR incurred due to this misinformation. We have attached all relevant documentation, including: - Boarding passes - Medical report confirming the emergency treatment - Proof of reissued tickets (available upon request) We trust that Turkish Airlines, as a global carrier, will review this case fairly and resolve it promptly. Please note that this matter is being taken seriously. As an employee of an international corporation, I will be obliged to raise awareness internally regarding this experience and advise colleagues accordingly if the issue is not resolved appropriately. Additionally, we are prepared to escalate this matter through formal complaint channels and public platforms if necessary. That said, we would strongly prefer to resolve this directly and amicably with your team. We look forward to your prompt response. Kind regards, Armin Nezirovic Habbo.armin@gmail.comOverall

Let me summarize the information: Passengers which were affected were Tonka Kaludova and Zhechko Kaludov - i have provided the 2 boarding passes, however i couldnt add more documents here. Flight was delayed for more than 6h which made them wait in the airport. The air staff were totally disrespectful and not polite. Gave them the food late and no additional service was offered. Other passengers also were not served as needed. Totally unacceptable air service! I want and expect the refund. I will represent them - Roberta Bozukova (their daughter). I will provide all the needed details and documents of my parents trip, just let me know what is missing. Thank you for your help!- Δ°stanbul-Mahebourg

Failure to arrange hotel accommodation and major inconvenience
Dear Turkish Airlines Complaint Department, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my recent return journey, particularly the denial of a promised complimentary hotel stay during a long layover. At the time of booking, we were clearly informed that passengers with layovers exceeding 6β8 hours would be eligible for hotel accommodation. Our itinerary included a layover of approximately 20 hours between our MumbaiβIstanbul flight and our onward IstanbulβWashington (IAD) flight, which met the stated criteria. However, three days prior to departure, we were advised to request the hotel stay at Mumbai airport. Upon arrival, the staff at Mumbai redirected us to arrange this in Istanbul. Unfortunately, when we reached Istanbul, our request was denied without a clear explanation. We were then directed between multiple customer service counters, spending nearly three hours attempting to resolve the issue, but without any success. This lack of coordination and inconsistent communication caused significant inconvenience and frustration. The attached documentation further highlights the lack of clarity and support provided by airport staff regarding this matter. In light of the above, I respectfully request: β’ Reimbursement of hotel expenses incurred (176.55 Euros) β’ Compensation for the inconvenience caused, either as a full refund for the two tickets (667.89 x 2 = $1335.78) or equivalent travel credit for two passengers β’ Assurance that clearer communication and better coordination will be implemented to prevent such issues in the future I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response. Compensation for the costs Baggage delay.
My flight was on 07.03.2026 and when I reached Vienna, I was told that my luggage was left in Istanbul.I informed them that I was going to Germany, Marburg that my luggage was to be brought to Marburg at B and B Hotel. At the same time I was to attend International training involving different Universities of the World.I was to buy some clothes as all suits were in the bag. After training, I was to go to Italy, Turin.I bought a flight ticket for Turin. When the bag was not brought to my last day at Marburg, I bought another flight ticket to Vienna to make follow up of my bag loosing the ticket from Frankfurt to Turin without refund. When I reached Vienna, I was informed that the luggage was sent to Frankfurt. I told them to bring it to Turin. I bought a ticket from Vienna to Turin. After some days, I received email that the bag was in Milan. Now because the days of stay in Turin were finished, I travelled to Milan on 23.03.2026 to collect my bag at my own cost. So, I missed the bag from 07.03 to 23.03.2026 that I incurred a lot of costs.Overall

It starts with us reading the news that Air Albania (which operates the flight form Istanbul to Tirana on behalf od Turkish airlines) has been suspended from flying. This happens before we even begin the journey and we reach out to Smart fares to understand if we are in any way affected and they told us that we are not and al remains as is. Meanwhile acquaintances which were on the same flight told us that they were informed that the flight was cancelled and they were transfer to another flight. We reached out once again and were convinced that all is good. Just 2 days after departing we were informed by the airline that the flight is cancelled. Since we needed to be back on the 6th due to other already booked arrangement, we bought a ticket to go back to Skopje. Since the very beginning we wanted a refund for the cancelled flight, but the airline refused under the excuse that all flight were utilized which obviously is not the case. At this point we are offended with their treatment since they are tweaking the truth, don't even consider that while I was on annual vacation far from our home we had to go back and forth via email to try and reason with them, we were under stress if we will be back in time for our other arrangements and in general making this whole experience unpleasant.- Δ°stanbul-Tirana

Omar el Batal omar73.batal@gmail.com Dear Turkish Airlines Customer Relations, I am writing to submit a formal complaint and a full compensation and reimbursement claim regarding serious operational failures during my journey, which caused me significant financial loss, stress, and inconvenience. My journey was from MalmΓΆ, Sweden to Lebanon via Istanbul, under one single reservation. Travel dates: 12/02/2026 β 25/02/2026 Order number: 17119017 Missed connection in Istanbul During transit at Istanbul Airport, there was extreme congestion at the transfer gate due to two flights boarding simultaneously. I was standing in the correct queue together with several other passengers. Despite arriving at the gate on time, when it became my turn to board, the gate staff informed me that the gate was closed. This resulted in me missing my connecting flight through no fault of my own. This was clearly caused by operational mismanagement. Cancelled return flight & forced purchase of new tickets In addition, Turkish Airlines cancelled my return flight. As a direct consequence, I was forced to purchase new tickets at my own expense in order to complete my journey: β Istanbul β Beirut: 1,300 SEK β Hotel, transportation & necessary expenses in Turkey: 1,000 SEK β Beirut β Denmark: 2,500 SEK Total additional expenses: 4,800 SEK Financial and professional damages Due to this disruption, I also missed a confirmed work appointment, resulting in an estimated financial loss of approximately 12,000 SEK. Legal claim under EU Regulation EC 261/2004 Since my journey originated in the European Union (Sweden), I am entitled to compensation under EU Regulation EC 261/2004. I hereby formally request: 1. Reimbursement of all additional expenses: 4,800 SEK, and 2. Financial compensation of 600 EUR under EC261, and 3. Consideration of the additional professional losses incurred.f Please find attached all relevant receipts, tickets, and documentation. I kindly request a written response and confirmation of my claim within 14 days. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your prompt reply. Yours sincerely omar73.batal@gmail.com

Overview: Flight between Bucharest and Dublin via IST. Overall delay >24hrs. I was supposed to fly from Bucharest to Dublin via Istanbul on Wednesday 18th February. This flight was cancelled and I had to stay an extra night in Bucharest and arrange/pay for my own hotel. The original flight on Wednesday 18th was cancelled due to severe snow in Bucharest - the flight was cancelled and I recieved notification to this affect before travelling to the airport for my flight. There was no offer for hotel assistance. The rescheduled flight on Thursday 19th February was delayed by more than 4 hours. I missed my connection and had to wait overnight in the airport for 8+ hours for the next flight. I contacted the airline and they said there was nothing they could do because it was weather related in part for Thursday 19th - this was not the case - the delay was explained by the pilot as being connected to the cargo door - and then offloading passengers and then refueling. There was an offer made for hotel in Istanbul on night of 19th - however this was in the city and It would take 60-90 mins to get there and I would have to return again in a few hours - They gave passengers a meal voucher to be used in food court. I finally arrived in Dublin Airport on Friday 20th February approx. 10am, full day later than scheduled after a flight cancellation, a 4 hour delay on the rescheduled flight, missed connection due to delay for connecting flight. 9 hours layover overnight at the airport and additional expense of hotel in Bucharest on Wednesday 18th February due to the original cancellation.- Bucharest-Dublin

Terrible customer service and wrong and huge charge for extra baggage
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a deeply distressing and unfair experience I had with Turkish Airlines at Islamabad International Airport. Under my reservation, I was entitled to two pieces of luggage under 23 kg each. I had one additional bag, also under 23 kg. Prior to my travel, I personally visited the Turkish Airlines office located in the Blue Area, Islamabad, to inquire about the cost of carrying one extra piece of luggage. After checking my ticket, the representative informed me clearly that the additional baggage charge would not exceed 200 CAD. At that time, I requested that the extra baggage be added to my ticket immediately. However, I was told that the system was temporarily down and that it could not be processed. I was assured that the same charge (approximately 200 CAD) would be applied at the airport without any issue. Based on this assurance, I proceeded with my shopping and packed my luggage accordingly. Unfortunately, when I arrived at Islamabad International Airport, I encountered a very unprofessional and disrespectful attitude at the Turkish Airlines counter. The staff member refused to listen to my explanation regarding the information provided at your Blue Area office and insisted that I pay 124,650 PKR that is about 623.78 CAD for the extra baggage β more than three times the amount previously quoted to me. I was given no reasonable explanation and was told that I must either pay this amount immediately or leave my luggage behind. This situation caused me extreme emotional distress. I felt helpless, pressured, and humiliated at the counter. The stress was so overwhelming that I experienced what I can only describe as a mental breakdown at the airport. Additionally, the staff member informed us that this charge only covered the Islamabad to Istanbul sector and that we might be required to pay additional fees at Istanbul Airport, otherwise my luggage could be offloaded there. We had only a two-hour layover in Istanbul, which made this information even more terrifying and traumatic for us. The five-hour flight to Istanbul was mentally exhausting and emotionally torturous, as we remained in constant fear about what would happen to our luggage during transit. Upon arrival in Istanbul, we approached the information desk and were informed that the charge imposed in Islamabad was unfair and that there was no additional charge applicable in Istanbul. This entire experience severely affected my mental health. I was completely drained and emotionally shaken to the point that I was unable to attend work the following day. What should have been a normal journey turned into a traumatic and distressing ordeal. I am requesting: 1. A detailed explanation of why I was charged 623 CAD instead of the quoted 200 CAD. 2. A review of the conduct of the staff at Islamabad International Airport. 3. A refund of the excessive amount charged beyond the standard baggage fee. 4. A formal acknowledgment of the emotional distress caused due to this incident. 5. Appropriate compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and unprofessional conduct experienced. I trusted Turkish Airlines for professionalism and customer care, and I was deeply disappointed by this experience. I sincerely hope this matter will be investigated properly, including coordination with the relevant airport aviation authority at Islamabad International Airport if necessary. Note: The copy of my ticket, the receipt of paid amount are attached. I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution to this matter. Kind regards, Fouzia NaqviOverall

I understand that the bookings are not linked under the same ticket number, preventing direct changes from your side.Could you please advise on the next steps I should take at Istanbul Airport upon TK799 arrival (expected 17:25) to resolve this? Specifically, will there be transfer desk assistance available for rebooking the Ajet flight 3Y3F21 (SAW-ALA via ESB at 18:20), or any protection/compensation options under EU/UK 261 or relevant regulations due to the schedule change? 18/12/2025 09:55 Dear Andrey MAKARTSEV, First of all, we are sorry for the adverse effect of this irregularity on your flight plan. In case of flight cancellation, the passengers are informed considering the waiting period, and in addition to the telephone, food/beverage services, transportation and accommodation facilities may be offered depending on the waiting period between the canceled flight and the offered alternative flight. The transactions of the passengers who want reservation/route change are made free of charge; if the passengers give up traveling, ticket fare is refunded regardless of the ticket rule. We have conducted the necessary investigation about your feedback and found out that flight TK0799 from Basra to Istanbul on the 18th of December 2025 was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. As a result, your travel was conducted in the TK6893 Basra to Istanbul flight dated 18th of December 2025 through the transaction made on your ticket. In relation to your feedback, we would like to inform you that we, unfortunately, cannot meet your compensation claim, as there is no civil aviation legislation applicable to the flight irregularity that has taken place at your departure point. Besides that, in cases where the delay is caused by factors beyond the control of the airline companies, the companies are not liable to pay compensation. However, if you kindly send us the invoice that shows the expenditure you have made during the waiting period, an investigation can be conducted. Moreover, where there are two or more flights on a ticket, weβre able to provide ticket reissues free of charge where a delay to the first flight has resulted in a connecting flight being missed. However, if flights are on two separate tickets, in accordance with fare rules, cancellations, refunds and reissues are dealt individually for each ticket. We hope you do not experience such adversities on your future travels and, with hopes of being able to welcome you as our guest again, we are respectfully yours. Kind regards, Camal N. I have photos of the departure and arrival boards in Basra, as well as a screenshot of the departure board at Istanbul Airport, clearly showing that flights were operating normally in both airports at the time. These can be provided upon request to demonstrate that weather was not a factor.Upon arriving in Istanbul on the alternative flight TK6893, your representatives provided no assistance with accommodation, transportation, or other services despite the extended waitβI was forced to spend the night in the airport myself. As a result, I incurred significant additional expenses: I had to purchase two separate tickets to reach my original destination, Karaganda, which still added another full day to my journey. I kindly request reimbursement for these costs, along with the relevant receipts, which I can forward immediately.I have already submitted several inquiries to specialized companies such as AirHelp and Skycop handling such passenger rights cases. In the event of refusal to compensate my additional ticket expenses, I will actively pursue my legal interests through these organizations. I look forward to your prompt review and resolution.
