Flight SN2096 from London arrived late into Brussels, causing us to miss our connecting flight SN3731 to Madrid (scheduled departure 20:55 on May 24). We note that the scheduled connection window was only 55 minutes — a tight connection that Brussels Airlines itself set when issuing this itinerary under a single booking reference (AGG9X6). At no point did Brussels Airlines proactively inform us of the delay, provide any explanation for the disruption, or communicate our passenger rights under EU Regulation 261/2004. We were left to seek assistance ourselves at the airport. Brussels Airlines rebooked us onto replacement flight SN3721 on May 25, 2026, and provided hotel accommodation and meal vouchers overnight — their minimum duty of care obligation under Article 9. However, flight SN3721 also departed late at 10:28 on May 25 — approximately 58 minutes behind its scheduled departure of 09:30. We arrived in Madrid at 12:20 on May 25, more than 12 hours and 55 minutes after our originally scheduled arrival of 23:25 on May 24. As a direct result of this disruption, we lost the entire morning of May 25 in Madrid. We had planned visits to several tourist attractions that could not be rescheduled due to our onward travel commitments. This was a pre-planned leisure trip and the disruption materially impacted our itinerary and the enjoyment of our journey.- San Francisco-Madrid

Refund of Disabled Senior still Due
I am writing on behalf of Barbara Holland, my mother who is sitting with me as I type. On 2/15/2026 she paid $1330.40 x two= $2660.80 for 2 first class tix to San Diego. She IS an 89 yr old Senior, Disabled Veteran with COPD, Cong. Heart failure, HBP, on Oxygen and in a wheelchair!! Living on Social Security!!! She booked this trip and within a week or so was notified the plane had an issue and put us on another plane IN ECONOMY. I called for her, they could NOT accommodate us on the dates we needed in first class so we had to request a refund and fly American. She rc'd only a partial refund of $2218.40 on 3/8/2026. I placed 2 online complaints immediately and called NUMEROUS times and they said sorry it says refunded fully?? NO, She is STILL owed $442.40. United's change was the reason we had to cancel and book another airline!! Your fault, NOT hers!! as of July 22nd We have NOT even had one response to the complaints!!! Case ID# 177333828258941 Also ref #'s 49571138 or 49571402 Spoke with a Robin on 3/12/26 and spoke with Hector on 4/8/26. Called again on 4/13 and 4/14. Was transferred many many times!! Could not even understand 3/4 of the people I spoke to!!! VERY LOUD CALL CENTER sounded like in the Phillipines!!! We are done trying to deal directly with United. It has been a NIGHTMARE!!! We will now be filing Complaints for elder abuse citing Penal Code 32.55 (Wrongful Retention of Money) with the following entities: DOT, Dept of Adult Prot Services, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. We would appreciate a response and her full refund. Barbara Holland & Sherry Coleman 906 Bowie St Amarillo, Tx 79102 Ph 806-457-1391Overall

Problems at airport
My first flight was not allowed to land at EWR and got detoured to Philadelphia to refuel, and by the time we landed in EWR I ost my connection flight to Berlin. I tried to contact the personnel from UA at the airport and they told me to do everything via chat. The only thing I received was the rescheduling of my flight 24 hours later and a 10% discount voucher for the hotel.- San Jose-Schonefeld

Extortion, blackmail, terrible customer service and total indifference.
I am a seasoned traveller and have flown all round the world. I had to accompany my son and baby grandson on flight U905 from LHR 9.30 am to EWR - July 12th 2026 First, I was charged an additional 700 dollars because the name on my ticket didn't match my passport. I am an international media personality and Susan Osman is my professional name. My middle name is Diane which I NEVER EVER use. However, for some reason my ticket said Susan D Osman - I have no idea how this happened. When I tried to check in I was denied access because of this discrepancy. This was clearly an administrative error. I called United customer services and they told me, despite my having my birth certificate to prove that I am one and the same person, that in order to remove the D it would cost me 700 dollars. After TWO HOURS on the phone I managed to "negotiate" the lower fee of 300 dollars. I had no option because I had made a commitment to help my son with his 5 month old baby boy - my grandson ,otherwise I would have cancelled the flight. I was blackmailed into handing over the money, When we arrived at the airport we encountered another problem regarding a ticket. This time with my baby grandson. We had checked in, our bags were tagged, then at the last minute we were asked to produce his ticket number. We didn't have it. After almost TWO HOURS again on the phone to customer services ,with just 5 minutes before check in closed .we were allowed to get on the flight. Once on board the plane despite travelling with a very small baby absolutely no flight attendants reached out to help. My son was sitting in 30D and I was in 32K and we managed to switch seats with other kind passengers so, we might be nearer one another for me to help. During the 8 hour flight not once did any one check on us, or help when we needed to change my grandson - not every bathroom had a changing mat, as I discovered. The attendants couldn't care less. Travelling with such a vulnerable baby is stressful enough, but it was made all the more stressful as no correct health and safety measures were taken to ensure the baby was safe. Just one example, the cabin lights were dimmed so it was impossible to see properly to help feed and quieten the baby down. I cannot complain strongly enough. I would like some sort of compensation and I am disputing the additional 300 dollars for the extraneous D that was not of my doing at all.Overall

Denied Boarding Due to United Name Correction Error and Wrongful Refund Denial
Dear United Airlines Customer Relations, I am writing to formally escalate the continued denial of the refund claim relating to PNR 8GT5H8 for passenger Natalie Frances Rena Freiin von Feilitzsch-Hanley. We have now been informed by your representatives that the refund request has been denied. Frankly, we do not understand how such a decision can be justified given the facts of this case and the extensive documentation we have already provided. Prior to travel on 14 May 2026, we identified a name discrepancy and proactively contacted both Austrian Airlines and United Airlines to ensure that the booking was corrected. Austrian Airlines advised that the ticket stock belonged to United Airlines and that United Airlines was solely responsible for processing any name correction and ticket reissue. Following multiple discussions with United Airlines representatives, we were instructed to proceed with the name correction and ticket reissue. During these conversations, we were repeatedly assured that: The amended name was acceptable for travel. The booking remained valid. No issues would arise at check-in. The ticket could be reissued and used without concern. Most importantly, United Airlines carried out the name correction and reissued the ticket. We provided the passenger's passport details and requested that the ticket be amended to reflect the passenger's name exactly as shown in the passport. United Airlines confirmed that the correction had been completed and subsequently reissued the ticket. If the passenger was ultimately denied travel because the name was not correctly reflected in the airline systems, then this demonstrates that United Airlines reissued the ticket with an incorrect or improperly processed name despite confirming that the booking was valid for travel. The passenger did not make the correction independently; United Airlines processed the amendment, validated the booking, and reissued the ticket. We possess documentation, correspondence, and records confirming that United Airlines performed the name correction and ticket reissue. We therefore struggle to understand how United Airlines can deny this claim when the airline itself corrected the name, reissued the ticket, and repeatedly assured us that the booking was valid for travel. If the reissued ticket contained an incorrect name or if the correction was not properly transmitted to partner airline systems, this is clearly an airline processing error and not passenger fault. Despite following United Airlines' instructions exactly, the passenger was subsequently: Denied check-in. Denied boarding. Unable to check baggage. Forced to miss two scheduled flights. Austrian Airlines later confirmed that the passenger's name was not correctly reflected in its system. This directly contradicts the assurances provided by United Airlines that the booking had been correctly processed and validated. As a direct consequence of United Airlines' handling of this matter, the passenger was forced to purchase a replacement ticket under PNR 7H42HI at an additional cost of €7,949.48, while also losing the value of the original Business Class ticket of approximately €5,600. This was not a no-show, voluntary cancellation, or passenger error. The passenger acted diligently, sought assistance well in advance, followed all airline instructions, and relied entirely on the advice provided by United Airlines. The travel disruption occurred because the name correction was not properly processed despite repeated assurances from your staff that everything had been completed correctly. What makes this denial even more concerning is that United Airlines previously acknowledged the issue and assured us that a refund would be processed. Throughout our communications with your representatives, we were advised that the case was being reviewed and that a refund would be granted due to the circumstances surrounding the failed name correction and subsequent denial of travel. We relied on these assurances and continued to cooperate fully with every request made by United Airlines, including submitting the required BSP refund request and all supporting documentation. It is therefore unacceptable to now be informed that the refund has been denied, especially when we have documentation confirming that United Airlines indicated that a refund would be processed. We request a clear explanation as to why the position of United Airlines has changed and why commitments previously made by your representatives are no longer being honored. Furthermore, despite numerous follow-ups, emails, and phone calls over the past two months, no satisfactory resolution has been provided. We have complied with every request made by United Airlines and have followed all required procedures on our side. The ongoing delay and lack of accountability are deeply disappointing. Given that United Airlines corrected the passenger's name, reissued the ticket, confirmed that the booking was valid for travel, and subsequently advised that a refund would be processed, we see no reasonable basis for denying this claim. The passenger relied entirely on United Airlines' instructions and assurances at every stage. We have retained documentation supporting each of these points and expect United Airlines to honor the commitments previously made and process the refund without further delay. We therefore request: Immediate reconsideration of the refund denial. A full refund of the original ticket. Issuance of any necessary refund waiver or authorization code without further delay. Written confirmation that the passenger's inability to travel resulted from an airline processing error. Escalation of this case to a Senior Customer Relations Manager or Executive Care Team for urgent review. Should United Airlines continue to refuse a resolution, we will have no option but to escalate this matter further through all available channels, including consumer protection authorities, aviation regulatory bodies, credit card dispute procedures where applicable, and any other formal complaint processes available to us. We have retained all correspondence, call records, booking documentation, refund requests, and evidence demonstrating that United Airlines corrected the passenger's name, reissued the ticket, confirmed the validity of the booking, and assured us that travel would proceed without issue and that a refund would be processed. We request a detailed written response addressing the specific facts outlined above and explaining the basis for the refund denial.Overall

We were travelling from India to US by Lufthansa. We missed our flight in Frankfurt. They rebooked us by United airlines via chicago. We again missed the flight in Chicago and was rebooked. By this we landed in Seattle by 2.30 am. But our bags didn't reach Seattle. As our medicines were in the baggage we had to ask some one in India to send our one month supply of medicines. So was the trauma.- Frankfurt-Seattle

We travelled as a family of four from Madrid to Washington Dulles on a United flight UA261 last Thursday June 25th, and our flight was delayed by more than 4 hours. The plane was due to depart Madrid at 11.15am and arrive at dulles at 1.50pm. It departed at approximately 3.15pm and arrived at approximately 6pm. I had also noted, while at the airport, that the incoming plane was delayed in Newark and left there over 5 hours behind schedule, so it seems to be the issue was in Newark, or before and not en route to madrid as the airline stated (see below) We believed we were entitled to compensation under EU261 because the flight departed from the EU, but the airline later refused the claim. Correspondence with ariline has been as follows and as per the emails attached. The airline first replied on 27 June 2026 and said the aircraft had been struck by lightning en route to our departure point, so it had to undergo a safety inspection by the DOT/FAA. They stated this was an extraordinary circumstance and therefore compensation was not payable. I then challenged this on 29 June 2026, asking for the evidence behind their decision, including the inspection records, timestamps, and the operational reason why no alternative aircraft or rerouting was used. The airline responded again saying cash compensation was not applicable and that maintenance records were proprietary and only available with a subpoena. I asked the airline to provide the full delay timeline and a proper explanation of why EU261 did not apply, but they did not provide the supporting evidence I requested. The matter is still unresolved and United said as far as they are concerned it is closed. Claim details Final destination arrival time: approximately 6pm, scheduled 1.50pm, so over 4 hours delay. What the airline said, and when: On 27 June 2026 they said lightning struck the aircraft and inspection was required; on 29 June 2026 they repeated that compensation was not payable; after my further challenge they again the claim and said records were proprietary. Care provided by the airline: We received meal vouchers for 13.5 euros each, which didn’t go far otherwise no meaningful care was offered to us at the time of the disruption, and no staff explained what had happened either prior or on route to dulles. Inconvenience caused: We were delayed by over 4 hours as a family of four, which disrupted our travel plans and caused significant frustration and uncertainty. We then had to rearrange pick up from the airport to our final destination. Missed event or financial loss: We missed a planned family get together that evening and the delay clearly caused inconvenience and likely impacted our plans- Madrid-Washington

I don't have any of the details because I didn't sign anything. I did recieve a voucher for a hotel stay because I also missed the flight from IAD to MCI, but that was through the UnitedApp and I don't have anything archived. I also was severely delayed on the replacement flight and I didn't make it to MCI until nearly 2 days later than originally scheduled. Unfortunately, I don't have the boarding pass for the replacement flight that was also delayed.- Brussels-Kansas City

My husband Ira Leibowitz has included in our joint filing that our luggage did not arrive on time and was delivered 6 days later. We boarded our plane on May 6th, 2026 and was delivered to our stateroom on May 12th, 2026. We were aboard the Diamond Princess and was very limited in purchasing clothes or much toiletries, we were waiting for our luggage daily and at Sea the first few days. We missed out on some activities that required appropriate dress and not having our luggage made our cruise disappointing and inconvenient. Even though we did not make many purchases we should be given something for the airlines mishandling of our luggage. We experienced many issues with the airline going home with cancellations and time delays, The Taxi we had to take was late at night and to the hotel close to Narita Airport but our flight change and landed in Hereda Airport instead. Nippon Airlines had us fill out some forms about our luggage. We have Reference numbers HNDNH 75721 and HNDNH 75722 if that helps.- Phoenix-Tokyo

Our original flight was to be from Phoenix to San Francisco but a delay forced us on a plane from Phoenix to Los Angles then a plane to Tokyo. The airline said we would get our luggage in time for our cruise. The Diamond Princess was our ship. When we arrived in Tokyo we had no luggage. No one could locate it. The airline at the Hereda Airport in Tokyo took all the information and said the will locate our bags. Our hotel was located near Narita Airport and arrived at night so we took a taxi from Hereda Airport to the hotel. We had to get on the ship with no clothes or belongings. We bought some things but not much choice on the ship. Everyday we checked with the airline. Not until the 12th of May we got our bags. Six days later. This has spoiled our cruise and just want to get some money to pay for the things we needed and the Taxi fare we had to use to get to our hotel. It was a mess. We missed some of the ships activities since we had very few appropriate clothes. Our trip turned sour.- Phoenix-Tokyo

My flight from Tokyo to Chicago was delayed and we sat on the runway for a while before disembarking. In order to catch my flight from Chicago to Ottawa I had to run to the gate and I could not wait to see if my bags would arrive or I would have missed the flight. I caught the flight and arrived on Saturday night but my bags did not arrive to my place in Ottawa until Monday afternoon. I had an event on Monday morning.
