United airline delay flight and poor service problem
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a very distressing experience with United Airlines that has still not been resolved, even after nearly two years. My family and I (total 7 passengers including my children, wife, mother, and cousin) were traveling on September 26, 2023, from Seattle to Newark and then Newark to Delhi. During our journey, the aircraft developed a technical fault, and the flight had to return. At Newark Airport, we were left without proper assistance. The airline failed to provide the hotel accommodation that we were entitled to. Additionally, no transportation was arranged for us. As a result, we had to spend the entire night at the airport with young children, which caused significant hardship. The next morning, we had to arrange and pay for a taxi ourselves to reach a hotel. Due to this disruption, my children fell sick, and we also had to cancel an important family event (a party scheduled for September 28 in India). This resulted in a financial loss of approximately $7,000. We reported this issue to United Airlines staff at the airport, and we were assured that the company would contact us and resolve the matter. However, despite repeated follow-ups over the past two years, I have received no meaningful response. I have only been provided with a case number (32279139), with no updates or resolution. This level of service and lack of response is completely unacceptable. I am requesting: 1. Full reimbursement of my out-of-pocket expenses (hotel, taxi, etc.) 2. Compensation for the inconvenience, distress, and financial loss 3. A clear update and resolution on my case immediately If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to escalate it further through legal channels and regulatory authorities. I look forward to your urgent response.Overall

Request for compensation for all the trouble I went through.
At first UA994 is delayed for several hours, then cancelled. Then I could get on UA3032, which also was delayed for a few hours, meaning that in total I had a delay of about 9 hours!! None or very poor communication, NO announcements about the waiting time. Only people that stood in line for over 1.5 hours could hear a very poor explication because the staff did not know anything. There was no announcement about free drinks or food being distributed. I was on a chair across the check-in desk and I knew nothing about that. Only the happy few that actually saw it knew about it. I do feel that a decent compensation for my trouble is in order. I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. the pains I have are heavily triggered by stress. I could not rest because I did not know how long I could rest and I was too afraid to miss an announcement about my departure time. That announcement finally only came about 30 min before boarding.Overall

Problems at airport
Following two delayed flights fro LA to Chicago 10hrs and the Chicago to Heathrow 14hours , when we were just about to board the flight to Heathrow was then cancelled altogether due to the pilot being sick. This was for another 17 hours. This resulted in trains costs and Lynn missing a day from work.- Melbourne-London

Why do they always say the overheads are full?
We were required to gate check our carry on bags when there was ample room for everyone to fit their bags in the overhead compartments.Overall
Required us to gate check our carry on bags claiming the overheads were all full, when there were at least room for another 40 bags! Very frustrating considering the reason we carry on is for convenience of quickly leaving the airport upon arrival!

Denisse Ramallo from miami to mcallen
Good morning, I am writing regarding my recent flight from Miami to McAllen on March 19, 2026. My original itinerary was scheduled to depart at 1:00 PM from Miami, with a connection in Houston and final arrival at 7:59 PM in McAllen. However, due to a mechanical issue, my initial flight was significantly delayed, causing me to miss my connecting flight. I was later placed on standby for another flight and was finally able to depart around 4:40 PM, arriving in McAllen at approximately 10:00 PMβover two hours later than originally scheduled. In addition, my checked baggage has not yet arrived, which has caused further inconvenience and additional expenses. This situation affected important personal and professional plans I had scheduled for the following morning, which were negatively impacted due to the delay and baggage issue. Given that the delay was due to a mechanical issue, I respectfully request compensation in the form of a travel credit in the range of $250β$300, as well as reimbursement for any essential items purchased due to my delayed baggage. I also request a refund of my checked baggage fee. Please also provide an update regarding my baggage status and instructions for submitting receipts for reimbursement. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely, Denisse Ramallo Confirmation Number: F2H1Q7 Ticket Number: 016238425047Overall

Disrupted Return Journey to Amsterdam
subject: Request for Review and Compensation β Disrupted Return Journey to Amsterdam (21β23 February 2026) Dear Customer Relations Team at United Airlines, I am writing regarding the significant disruption of our return journey from Maui to Amsterdam under one single booking (21β23 February 2026). Originally scheduled itinerary: β’ 21 February 2026 β UA 1750 β OGG to SFO β 23:25 β’ 22 February 2026 β UA 1849 β SFO to IAD β 08:25 β’ 22 February 2026 β UA 946 β IAD to AMS β 18:10 All connections were booked with reasonable transfer times of approximately 1.5β2 hours. In San Francisco, UA 1849 departed more than one hour late due to a technical issue (reported fluid leak). We proactively informed cabin crew about our onward intercontinental connection. Although we were advised that assistance would be available upon arrival, no agent was present at the gate. Due to the delay and the time required to disembark from the rear of the aircraft, we were unable to reach UA 946 before the gate was closed β although the aircraft remained at the stand. We were required to search for assistance ourselves and were subsequently rebooked onto: β’ 22 February 2026 β UA 932 β IAD to FRA β 22:00 β’ 23 February 2026 β LH 992 β FRA to AMS β 12:10 In Washington (IAD), a further operational delay occurred due to extended de-icing procedures of nearly two hours while already boarded. As a consequence, we missed the newly assigned Frankfurt connection. In Frankfurt, Lufthansa rebooked us onto: β’ 23 February 2026 β LH 0996 β FRA to AMS β 16:10 We arrived in Amsterdam approximately nine hours later than originally scheduled, after a total travel time of roughly 35 hours. We fully recognize that operational and technical challenges may arise and that safety is paramount. However, throughout the entire sequence of events, no proactive assistance was provided to connecting passengers, despite timely notification of our tight connection. Each time, we had to locate staff ourselves. No acknowledgment, apology, or passenger care measures were offered. Given that the final destination of our journey was Amsterdam and that the delay upon arrival exceeded three hours, we kindly request that you review this case in light of applicable passenger rights regulations, including potential entitlements under European passenger protection legislation where relevant. We would appreciate: β’ A formal acknowledgment of the shortcomings in passenger assistance and communication β’ Clarification regarding our eligibility for compensation β’ An appropriate goodwill gesture in recognition of the significant disruption and impact The physical and professional impact of this prolonged journey β including mandatory work commitments the following morning β was considerable. We trust that this matter will receive your careful review and look forward to your response. Kind regards, Albert Nesselaar (and travelpartner Isidora Jurisa) tel +31636175286- Economy

Worst flying experience ever w/ United
Subject: Complaint and Request for Refund and Reimbursement β Denied Check-In I am writing to formally complain about what happened when my family and I attempted to check in for our United flight. Earlier that day I had an emergency that delayed me, but I still made it to the airport about an hour before the scheduled departure. I immediately got in line at the check-in counter. By the time I reached the counter it was about 52 minutes before departure. The agent informed me that a supervisor had already said the policy required check-in one hour before departure and that nothing could be done. At the time there was no line behind me, security appeared nearly empty, and the flight was not full. We were still well before boarding and there was clearly time to process the check-in. I explained that I had been dealing with an emergency earlier in the day and that my family was waiting for me. There were four of us traveling and we all needed to return for work the next day. I was visibly upset and trying to explain the situation. Even the staff at the counter mentioned that it likely would not have been an issue to get us through given how quiet everything was. When the supervisor was called, she did not come over immediately. I noticed she continued speaking casually with someone she appeared to know for several minutes before eventually walking over. By the time she came to address the situation there was still around 30 minutes before boarding. She stated that it was policy and that there was nothing she could do. After all of this, we ended up watching the aircraft depart shortly afterward, which made the situation even more frustrating because it was clear there had been time that could have been used to help resolve the issue. Because we were denied check-in, the four of us were forced to stay overnight unexpectedly. This required us to pay $400 USD for two hotel rooms and approximately $60 USD in taxi transportation. We were then told to return to the airport at 10:30 AM the next morning in order to possibly get seats on the 12:30 PM flight. When we arrived at that time, we were told that the flight was full and we had to be rescheduled again for a 2:30 PM flight. That flight has since been delayed and is now scheduled to depart at 4:30 PM. After leaving the airport the first day, I also spent about an hour and a half on the international customer complaint line for United Airlines trying to get help. Eventually I was transferred to a supervisor in Chicago regarding the situation. During that conversation the supervisor was dismissive and simply repeated that it was policy and stated that help or reimbursement would probably not be given. This entire experience has been extremely stressful and difficult for my family. I understand that airlines have policies, but the airport was quiet, there was still time before boarding, and the situation could have been handled differently. I am requesting that United review this incident and provide a refund for the flight as well as reimbursement for the $400 hotel expense and $60 taxi costs that resulted directly from this situation. I can provide receipts.Overall

Terrible Service /Harassmenr
Itβs quite embarrassing being escorted off a United Aircraft with my family, especially being a 1K member. My day was pleasant until I met Ardreia K. Clark. Before this incident she seemed very friendly a little too friendly if you ask me. Our conversation started off about traveling the world but went completely left when she stated β if the price is right I can show you a good timeβ . I then declined her offer and ended our conversation abruptly. From the look in her eyes, she wasnβt happy about me turning down her offer. I left Ardreiaβs company to continue boarding with my family. While coming down the narrow aisle I had to walk around Ardreia , out of nowhere she bends over. I tried to avoid her but it seemed forced and intentional . I tried to stopped her from touching me but we still made contact. She then made a scene afterwards which seemed quite awkward. I was being set up . The captain then escorted my family and I off the plane. I needed to make that flight. why do this? I felt embarrassed and humiliated. I had no problems from the other flight attendants , as a matter of fact I would like to thank one of your stewardess for helping afterwards by making sure I have her information , Ardreia K. Clark. I was not a threat to anyone or the flight. I am a innocent 1K member this is not my first flight. A report was made a shouldβve been filed . I demand this be looked into, I do not feel comfortable knowing she has access to my information. Who else has she done this with? Do people think itβs ok to βpay for a good timeβ? Very unprofessional. I am a family man of course I would refuse her offer. Not the type of service I want. I would like to have this escalated higher up. This is a matter that needs to be handled immediately, itβs been months and thatβs long enough. This incident was documented what is the outcome?- Economy

Rebooking and customer service complaint
Dear Customer Care Team, I am writing to formally request reimbursement and to file a complaint regarding my experience following the cancellation of Flight UA1880 from Sint Maarten (SXM) to Newark (EWR) on February 24, 2026. Although the cancellation was reportedly weather-related, the lack of assistance and the confusion surrounding our rebooking created significant hardship for my family. I was unable to reach United by phone for assistance and went to the airport without receiving clear guidance on next steps. My family was eventually rebooked on a flight from SXM to Toronto (YYZ) with an overnight layover. We were traveling across separate reservations: one reservation included myself and my minor daughter, another included my husband and our minor son, and I was also traveling with a minor on a separate reservation. Upon arrival at the airport in Sint Maarten for the rebooked flight, an Air Canada agent informed us that the minor traveling separately had a confirmed seat but that I and the rest of my family were listed on standby. This was extremely concerning given that we were traveling internationally with children. While at the airport, I was able to reach a United representative by phone who confirmed that we did have seats on the flight. The United representative spoke directly with the Air Canada agent, yet we were still told we were on standby. It was not until approximately 20 minutes before departure that we were finally informed that we had seats and were able to board the flight to Toronto. This situation created significant stress and uncertainty for my family. This appeared to be a rebooking and seat confirmation issue between United and its partner airline, which left our family uncertain about whether we would be able to travel despite having confirmed reservations. Because the rebooked itinerary included an overnight layover in Toronto, I was forced to pay out of pocket for two hotel rooms as well as meals for my family. These expenses were unexpected and were incurred as a direct result of the cancellation and the way our rebooking was handled. Based on Unitedβs customer commitments during disrupted travel, I am requesting reimbursement for these reasonable expenses, including hotel accommodations and meals during the overnight delay. I have retained all receipts and can provide them upon request. Additionally, given the circumstancesβincluding traveling with minors, conflicting information between airline representatives, and the last-minute confirmation of seatsβI ask that United review how this situation was handled and consider additional compensation for the disruption and distress caused. Please advise on how I should submit my receipts and documentation. I would appreciate a timely response. Customer Service relations.
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding my recent travel experience on Flight UA313 from Houston to Toronto. Our journey began in San Pedro Sula, and our flight to Houston arrived on time. My wife and I were scheduled to connect onward to Toronto, as we were going back home and also expected to return to work the following day after a long vacation. Despite arriving in Houston, we unfortunately missed our connecting flight to Toronto. I vividly remember watching the aircraft depart from the gate, knowing that it was the flight we were meant to be on. I was a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience, particularly given our work obligations and the importance of returning on schedule. The situation caused significant stress and disruption to our plans. As a frequent traveler who takes two to three vacations each year, service reliability is extremely important to me. This experience has left me very dissatisfied, and it has made me think that i will no longer take this Company's service anymore however my only hope is to get a compensation to alleviate my deep disappointment and I hope it will change my point of view. Thanks for your kind considerationOverall

Horrible customer service and absulote no help whatsoever
I have never experienced incompetence like this before. I am getting extremely tired of constantly receiving different information that simply isnβt correct. Are you actually handling our case yourselves? Do you even read the information in our file? Our suitcases were never lost. According to Airbnb, you supposedly picked them up on December 26. What has happened since then is completely unclear to us. One thing is certain: the suitcase is somewhere in your depot or lost by your incompetence. It has now been more than two months since I last saw my suitcase, and I am absolutely done waiting. I want action now. Now the suitcase is finally considered βlostβ . I want to be reimbursed for both suitcases, as well as for all related expenses. I have already submitted my expenses, but there is an additional β¬240 in phone costs that must also be reimbursed too. Below are my bank details for the refund: Account holder: Tim Van den Wijngaert IBAN: BE25 9731 8390 7182 I expect this to be resolved immediately.Overall

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally request compensation and a full refund following the unfortunate experience I had with my recent flight on [UA42] scheduled for [01/26/2026]. My flight was delayed for over seven hours and ultimately canceled at 3 AM, which left me in a difficult situation without accommodation. Upon being informed of the cancellation, I was given a voucher for a hotel stay; however, due to the timing of the cancellation, I was unable to use it because the hotel was closed for check-ins at that hour. As a result, I had nowhere to stay that night and also incurred additional expenses for taxis and other accommodations. I believe that under these circumstances, I am entitled to compensation for the considerable inconvenience and the unexpected costs I incurred. I kindly request a reimbursement of my expenses related to the canceled flight, which include [$255.95 hotel stay $267.5 taxi from and back to airport Sincerely shmuel gold- Newark-Frankfurt

My friend and I booked a flight on United Airlines to fly from Orlando to Vietnam. We were due to fly back from Vietnam to Orlando on January 5. After leaving Ho Chi Minh City, we flew to Tokyo Japan and then weβre supposed to fly to Washington DC and then to Orlando Florida. While we were at the airport in Tokyo, United Airlines sends me a text telling me that theyβve canceled our flight back to the US. When I spoke to an agent, they told me the next available flight would be two days later. Because we had to get back ASAP, we ended up booking with the only airline that was flying out of the airport that day to Orlando, which was Delta. Because it was last minute and there were limited seats, the airfare was a couple thousand dollars each. I submitted this claim to United Airlines and they offered us each $175..- Tokyo-Orlando

UA had mechanicl problems with our outbound flight - a flight delay of 2 1/2 hours with outbound flight causing problems with connecting flights. we had to book a UA flight out of SFA to TPE Taiwan then EVA A ir to Singapore so that we could get on board our cruise in time. Our bags never made on our UA connecting flight in San Francisco to Taiwan. we had an Apple Air Tag in two of six bags so we were able to see movement and location of bags. Our bags sat in San Francisco for two days which caused a delivery delay of four days. We left Houston on Dec 7 and received our bags on Dec 12. We had the bags routed to Phuket Thailand because we were docked there for two days - first port of call for the cruise ship. This would give the airline enough time to route and deliver. Bags arrived in phuket airport on Dec 12 and were taxied to the dock at an expense of $284.23.- Houston-Singapore
