Dear AirAdvisor Team, Β I am writing to request your professional assistance regarding a compensation claim against Wizz Air. Our experience involved multiple cancellations of our scheduled return flight from Italy to Israel, which resulted in significant financial losses and considerable disruption. Our original flight was canceled three times. 1.6.3.26 - FLIGHT NUM w46407 2.16.3.26 - FLIGHT NUM w46403 3.17.3.26 - FLIGHT NUM w46403 Β Each time, Wizz Air failed to provide a reasonable alternative for returning home. Eventually, we were informed that the next possible flight could only be offered approximately one month later. Waiting such a long period was impossible, and we were forced to purchase tickets from another airline at our own expense. The flight was canceled three times. Does this mean we can count on triple compensation? As a result of these repeated cancellations and the lack of adequate support, we incurred substantial additional costs, including hotel accommodation, meals, essential living expenses, transportation, and the cost of new airline tickets. We submitted a reimbursement request to Wizz Air, attaching all receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation. Initially, a representative of Wizz Air informed us that these expenses could be compensated. Later, however, the airline requested copies of boarding passes with QR codes for the alternative flight. Unfortunately, these boarding passes were lost. Instead, we obtained an official letter from the airline that operated our replacement flight, confirming that we completed the journey and returned to Israel. This letter was submitted to Wizz Air along with all other evidence. Despite this, Wizz Air denied our claim. Given the circumstances, we kindly request your assistance in reviewing our case and advising on the next steps toward obtaining compensation under EC261 and other applicable regulations. We would appreciate your guidance on whether our documentation is sufficient and how best to proceed. Β Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to your response. Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing regarding an unpleasant situation that occurred during my recent journey after I accepted a re-routing from a cancelled flight from Tuzla to a replacement flight departing from Belgrade. After my original flight from Tuzla was cancelled, I was offered either a refund or re-routing to a flight from Belgrade. I accepted the re-routing option and received a new booking confirmation and flight number. When online check-in opened, I repeatedly attempted to check in through the Wizz Air mobile application as well as through a computer. However, the system did not allow me to complete the check-in process. I have attached screenshots as evidence of these failed attempts. Since online check-in was not possible, my family and I (four passengers in total) arrived at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at approximately 1:00 a.m. in order to seek assistance and resolve the issue in time for our flight. There were no Wizz Air representatives available to assist us. Airport information staff informed us that the issue was likely a system error and that, under such circumstances, airport check-in should not be charged. We then waited for approximately three hours before a Wizz Air agent arrived at the check-in desk. The staff member appeared around 4:00 a.m. and was also experiencing difficulties with the system and the check-in process. Due to the time that had passed while waiting for assistance from your company, we were informed that the free check-in period had expired and were required to pay an airport check-in fee of EUR 48 per passenger, totaling EUR 192 for four passengers. I firmly believe that this charge was unjustified, as we attempted to complete online check-in within the required timeframe and arrived at the airport several hours before departure specifically to resolve an issue that was not caused by us. I would also like to emphasize that I am a long-standing Wizz Air customer. In December 2025, I purchased a Wizz Discount Club Standard Plus membership for EUR 100. Over the past several months, my family and I have completed approximately 14 flights with Wizz Air, and this is the first time we have experienced such a problem. In addition to the financial loss, this situation caused significant stress and inconvenience. I would also like to mention that I am a cancer patient who underwent surgery for thyroid cancer, and situations involving prolonged stress are particularly difficult for me. Therefore, I respectfully request: 1. A full refund of the EUR 192 airport check-in fee charged to my family. 2. A written explanation as to why online check-in was not available. 3. Consideration of additional compensation for the inconvenience, distress, and the several hours spent waiting for assistance. Attached, you will find: - Screenshots showing that online check-in was not possible; - Evidence of attempts to check in via both the mobile application and computer; - The invoice and receipt for the airport check-in fee; - Proof of payment. Should my complaint not be resolved satisfactorily, I will be obliged to seek protection of my consumer rights through the relevant consumer protection authorities and other competent bodies. I look forward to your response and a positive resolution of this matter. We received the SMS notification about the flight cancellation only while we were already at the airport, at 09:58 on January 1, 2026. No information was provided at the airport, as there is no Wizz Air representative at PFO. The offered an alternative flight only next week was not suitable for us, as we had traveled from Lithuania by car and had left our vehicle at WMI Airport. In addition, our children had scheduled medical appointments, and we needed to return to work. Therefore, we urgently purchased alternative tickets. On January 2, 2026, my wife and children returned to Lithuania, while I flew to WAW and then traveled by bus to WMI, where I collected our car and drove back to Lithuania. Wizz Air reimbursed these additional expenses. However, Wizz Air refused to provide compensation for the flight cancellation, claiming that adverse weather conditions at WMI Airport had prevented their aircraft from departing. I have attached copies of my compensation claim and Wizz Airβs response. I would like to point out that, according to publicly available information, all flights operated by other airlines departed from WMI on that day as scheduled. This includes Ryanair flight FR4177 on the WMIβPFO route, which departed on time at almost exactly the same time as the cancelled Wizz Air flight. I have also attached evidence of this flight. Therefore, I believe that the cancellation was not caused by extraordinary weather conditions but rather by inadequate operational flight planning on the part of the airline.- Paphos-Warsaw

Airport fee regarding booking
I am writing to request a refund of the airport fee we were charged on 17 July 2026 at Memmingen Airport for our flight W4 3946 from Memmingen (FMM) to ChiΘinΔu (RMO). Passengers: Tatyana Kashlali Irina Kashlali Booking reference: VNLT7J / 0195 At the airport, we were each charged β¬75, resulting in a total of β¬150, because we brought our 10 kg luggage to the gate instead of handing it in at the baggage drop. However, we had already purchased 10 kg checked baggage for both passengers. The misunderstanding occurred because the boarding pass only states βChecked-in baggage β 1 Γ max. 10 kgβ, without clearly informing passengers that the baggage must be handed in at the baggage drop counter before security. As occasional travelers, we genuinely understood this to mean that our baggage had already been registered in the booking. The wording on the boarding pass is unclear and can easily be misunderstood. We had no intention of violating the baggage rules or avoiding any fees, as the baggage had already been paid for in advance. We respectfully ask you to review this case and refund the β¬150 airport fee as a gesture of goodwill, as the charges resulted solely from an understandable misunderstanding caused by the wording on the boarding pass. We appreciate your time and look forward to your response.- Memmingen-Chisinau

formal claim for compensation under Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 regarding the significant delay of my flight from Tenerife South (TFS) to Warsaw (WAW) on *1 July 2026*. *Flight details:* * Route: Tenerife South (TFS) β Warsaw (WAW) * Date: 1 July 2026 * Scheduled departure: *16:20* * Actual departure: *approximately 22:30* * Scheduled arrival: *22:30* * Actual arrival: *after 04:00 on 2 July 2026* Throughout the day, Wizz Air repeatedly informed passengers of successive delays via short-notice notifications. The departure time was postponed multiple times, ultimately resulting in a delay of more than six hours. As a consequence, we arrived in Warsaw more than five hours later than scheduled. This delay caused substantial inconvenience, including the loss of planned evening transportation, significant disruption to onward travel arrangements, and an overnight arrival instead of the scheduled evening arrival. Under *Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004*, passengers are entitled to fixed compensation when: * the delay upon arrival exceeds three hours, * the delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken, and * the flight falls within the scope of the Regulation. Furthermore, the judgments of the *Court of Justice of the European Union, including the joined cases **Sturgeon (C-402/07 and C-432/07)* and *Nelson (C-581/10 and C-629/10)*, establish that passengers arriving at their final destination three hours or more after the scheduled arrival time are entitled to compensation equivalent to that payable in the event of flight cancellation. The distance between Tenerife South (TFS) and Warsaw (WAW) exceeds *3,500 km. Accordingly, pursuant to **Article 7(1)(c) of Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, I request compensation in the amount of **EUR 600 per passenger*. Unless Wizz Air can demonstrate that the delay resulted solely from extraordinary circumstances within the meaning of Article 5(3) of the Regulation, compensation is payable. I therefore request: * Payment of *EUR 600 per passenger* under Article 7 of Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004. * A written response confirming the reason for the delay. * Payment of the compensation within 14 days. If my claim is rejected, please provide a detailed explanation together with the specific extraordinary circumstances relied upon and evidence demonstrating that all reasonable measures were taken to avoid the delay. I look forward to your prompt response and settlement of this claim. Kind regards, Daniela Pietruczuk booking ref. TPGF3Q flight no W61496- Tenerife-Warsaw

Technical problems
Dear Wizz Air Customer Service, Thank you for your previous response. However, I would like to formally request that my case be reviewed again, as I do not consider it resolved. My original booking was from Tuzla Airport, which is only about 40 km from my home. After the cancellation of that flight, I had no reasonable alternative but to travel to Belgrade Airport, approximately 180β200 km away. This resulted in significant additional expenses and inconvenience for me and my family. Furthermore, online check-in was not functioning properly. I attempted to check in online but was unable to do so due to technical issues. I later learned that many other passengers experienced the same problem. As a result, I was forced to pay an airport check-in fee, even though the issue was not caused by me. I am also an oncology patient who has undergone cancer surgery. The uncertainty, last-minute changes, and additional travel caused considerable stress during an already difficult period. Although I understand that operational disruptions can occur, I believe passengers should not bear the financial consequences of circumstances beyond their control. I am therefore requesting: β’ reimbursement of the airport check-in fee that I was forced to pay; β’ reimbursement of the additional costs directly resulting from the cancellation and change of departure airport, where applicable; β’ compensation under the applicable passenger rights legislation, if my case qualifies. I have attached screenshots and supporting documents regarding the failed online check-in and the additional charges. I have travelled with Wizz Air frequently over the past yearβapproximately six trips, often with several members of my family. I also purchased a Wizz Air membership for approximately β¬100 because I chose to travel with your airline regularly. I hope that customer loyalty and the circumstances of this case will be taken into consideration when reviewing my request. If my claim is rejected without a satisfactory explanation, I will consider pursuing the matter through an independent passenger rights claims service and, where appropriate, through the relevant European consumer protection bodies. I kindly ask you to review my case once again and provide a detailed response regarding the reimbursement and compensation requested. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your reply. The fight was delayed over 3 hours. It was originally a direct flight from AUH to KRK, but stopped at ATH, then arrived at KRK without off-boarding. Actual time of the arrival at KRK is 2026-02-19 04:05. I have a video clip of a moment the flight arrived. Wizz air explains the reason of the delay as "Security reason". However it didn't provide any proof that is an delay for an extraordinary reason. I've submited an claim to ADR of Poland, which is already closed because wizz air refused to join the procedure. The flight was meant to takeoff at 19:40 however the incomming flight that we were to get on, diverted to Tirana International Airport on approch to our airport. Its important to note that our airport continued operating as flights continued to depart thought this time. The flight arrived in around 22:00 and we departed around 23:00 arriving late. The doors of the plane opened at our destination at 01:54. This delay caused us to miss our self connect flight to Dublin with Ryanair. We recieved 5 euro drink and food vouchers at the Podge airport. We were inconvineiced as we had to rebook different flights back to Dublin from a different airport in Germany to get back to our end destination a day late.- Podgorica-Cologne

Refund as goodwill considering our circumstances
Subject: Request for Exceptional Refund β Confirmation Code: WHYETB Dear Wizz Air Customer Relations, I am writing regarding our booking with confirmation code WHYETB. We respectfully ask you to review our case as an exceptional situation and consider granting a full refund to our original payment method as a gesture of goodwill. Our family booked these flights specifically to travel to Nice to attend The Weeknd concert. We applied for our Schengen visas well in advance and made every effort to complete the necessary travel requirements. Unfortunately, despite our preparations, we were unable to obtain our Schengen visas in time. As a result, we are legally unable to enter the Schengen Area and therefore cannot use our Wizz Air tickets. This situation is completely beyond our control. We fully understand and respect Wizz Airβs cancellation policy. However, we kindly ask that our circumstances be considered as an exception. We are not cancelling due to a change of plans or personal preference; we are simply unable to travel because we do not have the required visas despite applying in advance. If it assists your review, we are happy to provide supporting documentation, including: β’ Proof of our planned trip and The Weeknd concert tickets. β’ Documents relating to our Schengen visa applications. β’ The booking of our sister, who is travelling on the same flights because she has a valid Schengen visa. This further demonstrates that our trip was genuine and that only our inability to obtain visas prevented us from travelling. If an exceptional refund is approved, we would be sincerely grateful if it could be processed to the original payment method (our credit card) rather than as WIZZ Credit. We truly hope you will consider our request with compassion and goodwill. We have always acted in good faith and would greatly appreciate your understanding in this unfortunate situation. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We look forward to your response. Kind regards, GΓΆzde IΕΔ±k KargΔ±n Booking Confirmation Code: WHYETB- Economy

Dear Wizz Air, I would like to submit a complaint regarding flight W64790 from Memmingen (FMM) to Pristina (PRN) on 27 June, booking reference IP73YT. I arrived at Memmingen Airport at approximately 07:30, more than two hours before the scheduled departure time of 09:50. I had completed online check-in and was present at the airport with sufficient time before departure. Due to exceptionally long queues and delays at the airport security checkpoint, I was unable to reach the departure gate before it closed at 09:20. As a result, I was unable to board the flight and lost my ticket. I respectfully request that you review my case and consider reimbursement, travel credit, or any other appropriate solution. Problems at airport
1. At Hamburg, after I had already boarded, the entire airport was evacuated because someone entered the sterile zone without screening. All passengers had to be re-screened; the checkpoint was down and the queue was long. Departure ended up ~6 hours late (scheduled departure from HAM 10:00, actual ~15:43 per FlightRadar24). 2. The flight was then diverted to Bucharest (OTP) because the crew ran out of legal flight-duty hours and had to be replaced. Final arrival in Yerevan was ~8 hours late (landed ~23:44 local vs scheduled). Wizz rejected the EU261 claim citing "security reasons" as an extraordinary circumstance and gave no evidence. They also referred me to the EU ODR platform, which has been shut down since July 2025. I'm aware the Hamburg evacuation may count as extraordinary. The point I'd want assessed is whether Wizz took all reasonable measures β specifically, whether letting the crew time out and diverting was avoidable (e.g. standby crew), and whether the duty-hours portion of the delay was within their control.- Hamburg-Yerevan

I previously submitted a claim for this flight which was closed because Wizz Air informed AirAdvisor that the case was being handled through ANAC (the Portuguese civil aviation authority). That ANAC complaint has now concluded and ANAC has issued its final decision. I am resubmitting because the original closure was not based on a settlement or resolution, but on an open regulatory process that has since ended. I also want to flag a key discrepancy: in their direct response to me dated September 11, 2024, Wizz Air cited 'passenger handling reasons' as the cause of the cancellation. However, in their response to ANAC, they cited 'air traffic flow management restrictions.' These are two different reasons and I have both in writing. I am attaching the Wizz Air correspondence as supporting documentation.- Lisbon-Warsaw

Formal Complaint β Unfair Additional Baggage Charge and Inappropriate Treatment at the Boarding Gate
Dear Wizz Air Customer Relations, I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable treatment my husband and I received at the boarding gate of our recent Wizz Air flight. I was travelling with a standard cabin bag and a neck support pillow. The gate agent insisted that the pillow had to be placed inside my cabin bag. However, once the pillow was placed inside the bag, the bag exceeded the required dimensions, and I was therefore forced to pay an additional baggage fee. What makes this situation particularly unfair is that dozens of other passengers carrying identical neck pillows were allowed to board without any issue and without being charged. The rules were clearly not applied consistently. Furthermore, the gate agent informed me that the charge would be β¬75, yet I was ultimately charged β¬81. No explanation was provided for this discrepancy. Throughout the interaction, the agent was extremely rude, dismissive and unhelpful. The pressure placed on me during the boarding process was completely unnecessary. While I was trying to rearrange my belongings, the agent repeatedly told me that the gate would close in five minutes. Because of this pressure and stress, I dropped my mobile phone, causing the rear glass to crack and break. At the same time, my water bottle opened inside my bag, soaking my passport. Despite seeing the situation unfold, the agent showed absolutely no empathy and continued to pressure me to pay immediately. To make matters worse, my husband and I were also challenged regarding a tote bag that I was carrying on his behalf. This bag contained medically necessary items required for the management of his diabetes, including a food scale used to weigh meals, a thermal bag for insulin, snacks and emergency supplies in case of hypoglycaemia. I explained the purpose of the bag and even offered to show the agent my husband's diabetes certificate as proof of his medical condition. However, she refused to look at the document and showed no interest in reviewing the medical evidence we had available. We have travelled numerous times with these medical supplies and have never encountered any problems with any airline. In fact, earlier that same day we flew with Ryanair, and the medical bag was accepted without any questions or objections. My husband also attempted to register his condition through the online assistance form, but there was no option available for diabetes. As you will be aware, passengers travelling with essential medical equipment and supplies should be reasonably accommodated. Refusing even to review medical documentation while challenging the carriage of medically necessary items is unacceptable and deeply concerning. Given the circumstances, I request: 1. A full refund of the additional baggage fees charged to us. 2. An explanation regarding the discrepancy between the stated fee (β¬75) and the amount actually charged (β¬81). 3. A formal investigation into the conduct of the gate agent involved. 4. Clarification of Wizz Air's policy regarding passengers travelling with diabetes-related medical equipment and supplies. The combination of inconsistent baggage enforcement, refusal to consider medical documentation, unnecessary pressure, misleading information regarding the fee charged, and the disrespectful manner in which we were treated resulted in an extremely distressing experience. I trust that Wizz Air will investigate this matter thoroughly and provide an appropriate resolution. I look forward to your prompt response. Yours faithfully, MΓ³nica LopesOverall

The airline claimed that I no showed for the flight. I was there waiting at the gate ready to go until they finally decided to leave SO LATE that I could not take the flight or risk missing work and losing my job. I told the gate agent at the boarding gate that the delay was unacceptable. They had five hours to get me to my destination and could not do so. She must have then changed me to a no-show. As proof, please see that I have attached my boarding pass AND the picture of my exit stamp from Bergamo airport on the evening of the flight. If I no-showed, how did I go through immigration in the airport? Wizzair will next claim it was a weather delay. That is not why we departed so late. Please request crew, maintenance, and aircraft arrival and departure logs.- Bergamo-Skopje

No one knows what happened. I didn't get a txt message or notification of the 1st delay/change of departure time from 19:50 to 21:55. When I asked the Wizz Air info desk at the airport, the reply was "We don't have information as well. Received no emails, just saw the board change". Then I got an email and we had to check in as per the original departure time, Got inside and waited by the gates for further info. About 20:27 I got a txt message informing me of another delay and new departure time 22;55. Then at 21:56 I got an email with the newest change to 00:00. However, the board was showing 00:15. Then we departed at 00:17. The refreshments (bottle of water and a croissant) that the airline had provided were put outside at the check in desks. We were not informed of this since we were all by the gates and to get out we were supposed to leave with out boarding passes (which we were told we could do at abou 22:00). Most people didn't even know we had refreshments, some were denied leaving the gated area.- Sofia-Larnaca

The worst customer service ever
I had the worst customer service from WizzAir yesterday. I've been told to pay extra Β£68 for my luggage as my backpack was large. I have paid Β£40 for extra luggage [10 KG] and genuinely was in rush and didn't think I need to go to the check-in area at Luton airport and thought that I'll be allowed in with what I paid for. I didn't know where the check in was as never used that service at this airport. The agent at boaridng gate was ultra rude and said you're either paying Β£68 or not boarding. When I wanted to go quickly to check in she said it's too late. I've got stressed and mumbled swear words to myself from stress as I have ADHD and forgot my medication yesterday. She said I abused her and denied my boarding. I went to customer services and another agent said I abuse their staff and it's unacceptable and that I have to pay for this. I was excuse me? As a result, I had to pay Β£300 extra for the flight with another airline today. I have never had more stress in my life related to travel. 0 understanding, the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I demand apology and full refund on my flight. Avoid this airline at all costs.Overall
