Delayed, damaged, or lost baggage on Condor? Under the Montreal Convention, you could be owed up to $1,920 in compensation. We handle everything — you just submit your details.

What happens when your checked bags don’t arrive when you do? Or what do you do if your belongings are damaged following a Condor flight? If you take the right steps within the correct timeframes, Condor will reimburse you for the inconvenience. Here’s what you need to know and do to get compensated for baggage mishandling.
Your rights concerning mishandled luggage are protected by an international treaty called the Montreal Convention. It states that airlines must compensate you for damaged, lost, and delayed baggage up to approximately $2,080.
Baggage delays can be caused by many different things, like general staffing shortages, outdated technology, or mechanical problems, but as soon as you realize that your bags are missing, here’s what you should do.
File a report while you’re still at the airport by locating the baggage service desk.
If you’ve already left, you can also make a report on the Condor website. Either way, you must complete this step within 21 days of your flight.
When you make the report, you’ll be given a File Reference Number - sometimes called a Property Irregularity Report Number. You can use this to track the status of your belongings, but you’ll need to to submit a baggage compensation claim.
Condor will look for your delayed baggage, and when it is found, it will be sent to you unless you choose to pick it up yourself.
If you have more than one delayed bag, create a separate report for each one.
Buy any essential items you need, but keep the receipts. Condor will reimburse you for your expenses. It’s important to keep your spending as low as possible, simply because there is no guarantee that you will be repaid the full amount that you spent. This is why it’s essential to collect receipts and any other supporting documents that can support your compensation claim.
If your delayed baggage hasn’t been returned to you after 21 days of making your report, Condor will consider your bags to be officially lost. At this point, you can file a claim for compensation for up to 2 years.

Documents needed for your claim
Condor has no set time frames for processing baggage compensation claims. Because of this, the claim process can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months.
If you find that your baggage has been damaged, you must make a report as soon as possible. You will receive a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) to complete and a PIR number that you should keep so you can use it to file a compensation claim.
If you only notice the damage after you leave the airport, then you have 7 days from your flight to make a written report with the airline. It’s also a good idea to take photos of the damage, as this will help support your claim.
Here’s what one passenger had to say about their baggage mishandling situation. It illustrates how important it is to GET AND KEEP the BAGGAGE IRREGULARITY REPORT NUMBER.
They managed to lose our luggage and have been completely unhelpful regarding trying to track or find our lost luggage. After a 2-hour delay in baggage services, we were finally informed that her luggage was nowhere to be found. We filled out requisite paperwork at BWI, but I was not provided some Condor reference number. In the next 3 days I have been trying to track my bags, but no help has been given from the Condor customer service representatives if I do not have this special reference number that I was not provided and did not know that I needed to have. - Kimmyhall, June 2022 - TripAdvisor.
You can file a compensation claim for your damaged baggage as long as you filed your initial report within 7 days of your flight’s arrival. Again, you’ll need to make a report on Condor’s website, but it’s better to do this at the airport before you leave.
Be sure to take photos of the damage and keep a copy of your baggage report!
Condor will not pay for damages caused by faulty luggage or improper packing. Likewise, the airline will not compensate you for damage to fragile items or perishables, or for regular wear and tear to the bag itself, including small scratches, bumps, and scuffs.

If the TSA damages your luggage you’ll know because you’ll see a notice inside your suitcase or a seal attached to the outside of your bags. Condor is not responsible for damage caused by the TSA.
Contact the TSA for more info by calling 866-289-9673.
If you’ve had damaged, lost, or delayed baggage problems after flying with Condor, don’t panic, because you can still get the compensation you’re owed.
The key is to make claims and reports within the proper time frames, stay organized, and remember to be patient.
