China Airlines Flight Delays

China Airlines Cancelled Flights
If your flight is scheduled to depart from Europe or the UK, and it gets cancelled, here’s what you can expect to receive from the airline.
- Rebooking or refund
- Cash compensation: You can get financial compensation if the cancellation was avoidable and you were notified less than two weeks before departure. If you were notified more than 2 weeks before your flight, you will still get a rebooking or a refund, but cash payment won’t be provided.
Missed Connections with China Airlines
If you miss a connecting flight because of a previous China Airlines flight disruption then you are entitled to:
- A rebooking OR a refund, and possibly cash compensation if the airline is at fault.
- Cash compensation as long as all flights were booked together and China Airlines is at fault for the initial disruption.
Denied Boarding Compensation
On a rare occasion, China Airlines might oversell a flight and deny boarding to some passengers. If you’re bumped from a flight:
- You can choose a refund or an alternate flight.
- You’re also entitled to cash compensation.
How Much Compensation Can You Get?
Financial compensation is based on the distance of your flight and the length of your delay. So, if you end up arriving at least 3 hours past your scheduled arrival time then you will get compensated as follows:

Flights over 3,500 km | €600 (£520*) |
*China Airlines may attempt to reduce this amount by 50%, but AirAdvisor fights for the full compensation you deserve.
The Regulations Protecting You
