KLM Compensation for Flight Delays, Cancellations & Refunds

The incoming flight from Amsterdam to Bangalore was diverted to Chennai due to weather conditions. This lead to delay in boarding of flight to Amsterdam. Due to this we missed our connection to Stuttgart . We were rebooked on a different flight with an extra layover and then flew from Amsterdam to Zurich and eventually Zurich to Stuttgart. The whole journey was very stressful.

Incoming flight to Bangalore from Amsterdam was diverted due to weather conditions due to which the flight reached Bangalore late. This laid delayed takeoff of the flight to Amsterdam.

I could not fly on the 29th as I had booked my original flight and was forced to fly a day earlier. So had to change all arrangements and had extra expenses for arriving a day early as my rental home was booked from the 30th. The airline called me 2 days prior to my original flight to tell me the aircraft had changed and they could no longer accommodate me and my dog on the flight.

My original connecting flight was missed due to weather conditions. Everyone else on my original connecting flight (mostly Caucasians) were rescheduled on an Air France flight out the next day. However, I wasn't. I was rescheduled on a flight 2 days later. When I brought the issue up with the KLM staff at the airport, they asked me to wait at the airport with my luggage for standby. I was then informed that they've received information from their supervisor saying if i wanted to be on the Air france flight leaving that night, i'd need to buy a ticket to be let on even though there was space. My time was wasted, others were rescheduled to that flight while I had to pay extra 2 days for hotels and missed work pay as KLM/Air France refused to schedule me on an available flight.

I didn't received any message or mail about cancelation. I was in the airport, at the gate, 2hours before boarding. I was coming from Seattle to Bucharest and Amsterdam was a stop. I waited for 1h and, at some point, I've checked again the Departure table and my flight appeared canceled. I went to the Help Desk that was provided on the Departure table, there, they sent me to a different desk where I stood in a queue for 3hours to receive another flight. I have to say again, that I was coming from US, so I was tired after a 10 hours flight. In Bucharest I should have arrived on Monday 3:25PM and I arrived Tuesday 1:30PM. The airline offered a hotel room, but they didn't let me get my luggage. So, even if I told them that I was coming after a long flight from US, they didn't get me the luggage. They said that it will be automatically transferred to my next flight to Bucharest. But, my luggage was lost, it didn't arrive on Tuesday, with me. I received it on Wednesday. Because my flight was canceled I've missed my daughter's celebration. Also I had to get a vacation day from the office since I couldn't get to work.

When we arrived at Schiphol airport around 8:00 AM, I have received the text to say the flight from AMS to LCY was cancelled and rescheduled at 17:15. However the ticket was stand by. Eventually they gave us the ticket from AMS to CDG(Paris) and CDG to LHR. We arrived at LHR around 21:00.

When we arrived at Schipole airport around 8:00 AM on 16/04/24, we received the text to cancel our original flight to LCY at 9:00 and gave other tickets to LCY at 17:15 in the evening. However eventually we were given the ticket from Schipole airport to Paris and then Paris to London Healthrow. We arrived at London Healthrow around 22:00 at night.

It caused me to miss my connection all together. So I was offered a rebooked flight for 4:20pm which has since been delayed until 6pm. So my original estimated arrival in Germany of 2pm is closer to 7-8pm

Air traffic control outage put the airport. We were only told about after we were all boarded. Departure was scheduled for 22.40 on 15/4/24. We were told due to weather earlier there was only one runway open and it would be 30 minutes before they started the engine. Then after a time the captain come out the cockpit and said air traffic control computers were down and everything was grounded till it was fixed. She waited probably another 30 mins then she came back and said it couldn’t be fixed the flight was cancelled. Wed then been on the plane nearly two hours, it was now after midnight. We had to disembark and were told there would be people to help us, re book our flights get us a hotel. We come back into the airport. There is no staff and hundreds of passengers. I had no option but to stay in the airport. I phoned a few hotel. All fully booked as so many flights had been cancelled. At 2.30 am I get an email for a new flight leaving at 7pm. 21 hours after my flight should have departed. Information from the Airline was non existent. I have lost a full day of work and I’m self employed. So no chance of even having an annual day leave to cover the day. I’ve lost a full days wages. I’m due to arrive home at 21.20 in 16/4/24. Which happens to be my birthday and I had a night out with friends at a local theatre which I’ve had to forfeit my tickets and I need to pay another full day for my car in the airport car park.

Probably it was a technical issue or the designated airplane wasn't available because at the airport the airplanes kept taking off & landing.

They are claiming weather and runway issues. I just have a feeling they weren’t fully booked. I finally got a flight on Sunday 14th at 9pm, missed a whole day of work, had to inconvenience friends to stay longer, paid extra for car rental, etc. A day before: weather and runway issues. No care provided.

Flight Amsterdam to Toulouse cancelled, rerouted via Paris

It was my first time taking a flight. I had to wait two hours in a line to get my boarding pass and I was been told that flight was full. I had worst experience and I regret booking this flight. However they ended up arranging new flight and which was almost 3 hours delay and then they told me to fly tomorrow. However I was able to get alternate flight that was booked for me by the KLM airline with two stops. When I reached Istanbul with Etihad airline, I was been told that my name was not on next flight then I had to wait another hour to get security clearance because my connecting airline thought I shouldn't be on their flight. I believe at this time KLM forgot to notify another airlines. At the end I was allowed to board on next flight which was so stressful as well. In total I was over 5 hours late and the person was going to pick me up had to leave and I waited 10 hours almost at the Canadian Airport because of that. It was the worst day and worst flight experience.

On the cancelled flight we would have arrived in Toronto at 1:20pm, instead we arrived at 9:15 pm. We were notified about the cancellation about 25 hours before the flight departure. We were told it was cancelled because of technical issues. An email and a text message were sent in the morning but we were on an excursion so I no access to this info until we returned to our ship. I then called KLM and we discussed alternatives early April 5th in the afternoon. There were no direct flights so I was offered Air France flight departing AMS at 3:45 pm which was delayed to Paris and then a flight at 6:55pm arriving at YYZ at 9:15pm. I then had to call home to make arrangements with my babysitter and driver who was picking us up to ensure these new arrangements could accommodated. Additional expenses I incurred were the roaming charges for the two 2 calls to KLM and the call to Toronto for alternative babysitting . Roaming charges are billed at $2.50 a minute and each call to KLM was about 20 -30 minutes in length including hold time. Call home was about 15 minutes.

We were told that toxic air was on the plane and that the flight would be cancelled.

The original flight from vancouver to amsterdam arrived late causing me to miss my connecting flight from Amsterdam to Delhi

1. On December 15, 2023, I booked a flight from Dublin to Geneva on January 8, 2024, with a connection filght at Netherlands Amsterdam Airport. On December 20, I contacted KLM by phone and requested to change the date of the ticket to February 12, 2024 from Dublin to Geneva. After several times of communication, KLM agreed to my request. 2. KLM's online page immediately updated my trip page to explicitly include the February 12 flight, and sent me a check-in email (received on February 11, 2024). 3. When I arrived at the airport check-in counter on the afternoon of February 12, the ground staff at the counter told me that they could not check me in because they did not have the information about this ticket and asked me to contact KLM urgently. But it was too late to check in and board the plane because KLM need me to prove I have payed for the ticket. KLM was not willing to help me out and ignored my request. I would now like to ask KLM to compensate me for: 1. Transportation to the airport costs 20 euros, by airport bus; 2. Full cost of airfare 123.7CHF = 125.79EUR 3. EU261 compensation costs.

The flight they put us on was for the next day. Lost a full day of travel and was not able to find an accommodating hotel. We arrived in Amsterdam on Friday, March 29 at 7:50 pm. Our original flight was scheduled for 6:30 pm on Thursday, March 28. The incident inconvenienced me because I had to figure out housing, transportation, and food as well as losing out on a full day of our trip. I lost money because we had a nonrefundable hotel and we weren't able to get a refund for the night we were supposed to be there (March 28th). The timing was also terrible, they let us know only an hour before, after delays. The airline notified us that we would get reimbursed for housing, transportation, and meals up to $25.

I lost 24 hours of my travel time in Amsterdam because I had to stay the night in Florence. I was not able to stay at my accommodation in Amsterdam and I was not able to get my money back. Arrived in Amsterdam on Friday March 29th at 7:50 PM when I was supposed to arrive on Thursday March 28th at 6:30 PM. The airline delayed the flight less than an hour before boarding time and then canceled the flight an hour later. I was rebooked to another flight for the next day. The airline said they would reimburse me for travel to and from the airport, a hotel in Florence, and up to $25 for meals.

weather was okay, seen all other airplane taking off but the one i was on wasn't taking off after many time of attempt. this was caused by an inexperienced pilot which i didn't get on my second flight from Amsterdam to Xiamen, so I have to stayed in Amsterdam for the night and fly to Singapore in next morning, then from Singapore to Xiamen. in this case I have lost nearly 24 hours. it was an awful experience.

I was with my 6 year old autistic son who was tired and crying because he got overwhelmed. Someone took our seats and as I was trying to figure out what to do a flight attendant came and tried to hold my son who then got uncomfortable and started crying even more. The captain then came outside and told us to get out of the plane even though I tried to tell why my son was crying, I even showed him our papers from the doctor that says my son is autistic and can be overwhelmed. He then told me that he’ll not fly until when left the plane and basically threw us out. We got a new flight that was leaving to Juarez Mexico where we would take our third and last connecting flight with another airline but on arrival to the airport we didn’t get to board because of lack of our boarding pass. We booked a new from Juarez to Guadalajara for 1000 dollar. This incident led that me and my son spent more 1 day travelling. We arrived our final destination which was Guadalajara 2/4 at past midnight instead of 1/4 at 21:44. We hadn’t eaten anything and the way the captain treated my son was inhuman. I’m not even sure if the flight back home to Sweden is valid which frightens me anymore, I feel to unsafe travelling with KLM after how my son and I were treated. Any human being understands that child could cry anytime but your captain blaming my son for his autism and telling me to get him treatment was so hurtful and disrespectful. He should have know better than throwing out a harmless child who is even more sick is just outrageous and I’m so disappointed in KLM crew.

My bag was damaged on flight as it was placed in check in due to a full flight. It is now unusable and a claim was made at the airport upon arrival but the person who assisted did not log the issue and never provided the reference number for the issue. On following up further I was assisted on the 19 February but air France rejected the claim on grounds it was past 7 days. The issue not being logged was not my fault and I do not agree that I should bear the brunt because someone else did not perform their duties. The bag cost +\- ZAR2500 to replace. I have further sought assistance at the airport and logged an issue that is where I was given this link to claim.

The flight had a delay because we had to wait for other passengers who came a bit late after the boarding time. The flight was supposed to depart at 6am but ended up departing at 6:30 which made me miss my connecting flight and had to get on another flight that was flying via Munich then to Luxembourg. All of this led to me not getting my luggage upon arrival.

The delayed flight arrived in AMS with an hour of delay. Due to the delayed flight, I missed my connecting flight to Hannover. Due to the delay, I could not catch my connecting flight and was booked on a new flight after 16 hours and 26 minutes. Due to this, I missed my work, the following day.

My partner and I were scheduled to land in Amsterdam on the 8:25 KLM flight on Thursday 28th March. Our flight was cancelled and we were unable to land in Amsterdam until 9:30 pm the following evening at Friday 29th March. I recieved a form from an Air France employee stating compensation for food, accomadation, and transport would be given for those on my flight which was KLM Flight

My direct flight from Florence to Amsterdam was cancelled forcing me to stay an entire extra day in Florence. The next flight I was given was an entire day later and had a connection. The only "compensation" I was given was a 15 euro food and drink voucher for the CDG airport valid for 48 hours. I was unable to use the voucher as I was in CDG for about 30 min until my next flight and I did not fly back through CDG.
