Delta Flight Delay and Cancelation Compensation

Firat I was downgraded from premium to main cabin. Then my luggage got lost due to that since my bag was left back in Amsterdam. No need to describe the inconvenience of all this.

Flight was delayed for 4hrs in MSP that impacted connecting flight in Amsterdam. Additional 5.5 hrs delayed to catch the flight to Bilbao

Dublin was started with delay of 3h (no information, but water in cabin toilets have not been working all flight and have been stripped), landed with 2h delay - landed 2:37pm. connection flight to CTL from 2:59pm was not reachable, rebooked same day (+3h) for a flight at (around) 5pm. Then rebooking was cancelled due to weather, so we have been again rebooked for next day departure, landet 8.30am at CTL instead of 03.04 5:09pm. Also the rebooking next day was in a lower class instead FIRST to COMF+. We have been offered a food voucher and the stay in a hotel in New York. I claim the refund for 3 people with 600EUR each and the difference of 75% of ticket price for rebooking in lower class. We loose a whole day on our trip.

Airlines did provide us a hotel to stay in LA but because of this delay I missed my pay at work. I want to be compensated for all 3 of us. My kid, 13 years old went through mental harassment because of this. My mother who has trouble sitting for so long had to stay at Paris CDG airport for 7 hours. We need to be compensated.

We sat on the tarmac from 11:30 a.m. until 6:00 pm+. The flight was delayed, time and again. Then the connecting city was changed from ATL to JFK to meet time constraints of the crew. Then, as time marched on, the trip was finally cancelled, and we disembarked around 6:10 pm. In the 6+ hrs onboard, we were offered only a scant cup of water. We were to be bussed to a hotel, but rather were only bussed from the airplane stairs to the terminal. At that point, with little and confusing communication, we finally felt our way throughout the terminal, exiting by a long walkway to an airport hotel, where we stood inline to check in, hot, hungry, and exhausted. We only were able to fly out the next morning, with a day’s delay. Some of our travelers had spent their euros down as they expected to be departing. Some had no clean clothes AND had no medicine for diabetic and heart conditions. Additionally, many phone calls were incurred to family in the USA, with our ever-changing information.. Pickups from our USA airports had to be rearranged. We were tired, had had no food for lunch or dinner, until a late-night buffet at the hotel. We could not take advantage of the next morning’s breakfast buffet because of departing the hotel before service began. The hotel offered boxed breakfasts, which our ladies would have been unable to handle as they rolled luggage, carried totes and packages on the long walk back to the terminal. Communication was very poor, with many different reasons given for the delay and eventual cancellation - including a light coming on that needed investigating. As time passed, the plane had to be refueled. Then there were discrepancies between cargo weights shown on the ground and in the Delta system. The flight crew’s time was dwindling, hence, the change from connecting in ATL to JFK. Two passengers then wanted to disembark; as we were waiting for a gate for their departure, the announcement was finally made that the flight was cancelled. Confusion reigned after that. There was no central, organized announcement about what to do. Only by happening upon a Delta employee was any information given, and that was confusing and incomplete. It was NOT Delta at its best.

I landed from Mumbai to Paris and had connecting Delta flight. Delta informed that flight has been cancelled and booked me in next days flight. They provided lodging and food. Due to this I reached a day later missing important business meetings.

The door did not shut properly and they had us wait inside the flight for 2 hours and then deplane and then boarded another flight.

I was supposed to board a flight from Paris Airport to Vancouver via stop in Seattle. But the officials didn't let me board the flight and never gave a reason why. Afterwards, they booked me on another flight via Montreal but wasted my 4 hours

The flight was cancelled overnight so I didn't see the message until the morning. I immediately called DELTA and the automated service said their phone were overloaded and so I started texting with agents. I spoke with agents for the next 5-6 hours and they could only find me a flight two days later. This was very stressful as there was a lot of miscommunication leading to missing a potential flight, as well as, many moments when I thought we had a flight home only to find that it wouldn't work due to no seats available or no layover time. I was supposed to arrive back to OKC on March 24, midnight, but didn't arrive until March 26, 9pm. I had to take those two days off work (one of which I was supposed to present), my daughters missed their work shifts as well one of my daughters missed her college classes. I had to book a hotel near the airport for those two nights, and as there wasn't much around there, we ate at the hotel all meals until departure. We also had to take a bus back and forth to the airport to check on flight openings as well as into the nearest city of Houndslow to buy additional clothing. The airline did not provide or offer any additional services at that time other than get me and my daughters on a flight that Tuesday.

In the email it said it was due to operational problems. They changed my flight and instead of stopping in JFK, I am now stopping in Chicago. The email was sent to me at 7:47am, when my flight was supposed to leave at 8:55am. I ended up taking a flight that left at 1:30pm They just gave me a 15euro meal ticket. I had to cancel meetings due to this and find a boarding solution for my dog since I'm not able to arrive to Pittsburgh in time to pick her up.

They rebook the flight for the next day. Initially supposed to fly out 3/17 and arrive in OMA 3/17 9:30pm but now will arrive 3/19 12:20AM in OMA instead.

A shuttle had to come pick us the passengers to arrive in the airplane. We were already at the airlines.

No flights at all from INV; had to rebook a flight out of EDI and drive.

Mechanical issues with plane. Delayed until the next day.

Flight boarded on time and backed from gate at 10:30am on 2/23. Pilot then reported an engine problem. We sat on the plane for almost 2 hours before they dumped us on the tarmac (around 12:30) after telling us that the flight was cancelled. There were zero instructions on where to go once we were back in the airport, we were told multiple different things by members of airport and Delta staff. Finally we figured out, on our own how to get back to the correct desk. Then after several hours of waiting in lines we got rebooked onto a flight the next day and sent to a hotel (4-5pm). In the 6 hours of waiting we were given a bottle of water while still on the plane and nothing after that, most of us went all day without eating lunch, then the hotel didn't offer dinner until after 7pm. We spent money on a snack and drinks at the hotel bar. The next day they sent busses to drop us off at the airport. They dropped us off at the wrong area so we had to walk across the entire airport to get to the correct security line. Once we got on the plane the second time everything went fine. We arrived back home around 3:30pm on 2/24, about 26 hours after we originally planned.

Flight was cancelled hours after we arrived at the airport We were not told our flight was cancelled for 5 hours It just kept getting delayed We spent 12 hours at the airport waiting in many lines with all of our luggage to be transferred to a hotel for the night Our flight was rescheduled for the next day Seagulls took over the airport and the airport was shut down We didn't fly out until 24 hours later We had to pay for another day for our car at the airport, which we had prepaid before we left. Our dog sitter had to keep our dog for another day

Airplane went back due to rotten fish in board. Arrival many Hours later than planned

A faulty part near the emergency exit forced 10 rows off of the flight, then hours of manual calculations, then, finally, a canceled flight. Everyone was made to de-board the plane after hours of sitting on the runway, then where shuttled to Disney Paris overnight. I missed a day of work, plans with family and extra money spent on my overnight parking.

We arrived at the airport and boarded the aircraft. After some time we were off boarded and told to wait at the gate. After several hours we were told that the flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. There was no other flights available and to find a place to stay over night. We returned to the airport the following day and the aircraft had been repaired and we continued to JFK. We had to find our own hotel room several miles away from the airport.

We we told a bleed air valve replacement was required to fix the aircraft and had to be sent from London. Our flight was cancelled and we were booked on the same carrier one day later. We received food vouchers and were reimbursed for hotel and taxi, but the carrier refused to pay 261 compensation.

They canceled the flight 20 mins before boarding. The airline made all passengers leave the terminal, grab our bags, revisit the booking agents, find alternatives, re-check our luggage, go through security again, and take a later flight. I also had to fly to three locations to make it to my final destination 5 hours late.

My flight was delayed we departed at 6:30 PM in JFK at 9:10 PM 3 to 4 hours late. Originally I was told the delay was due to late arriving equipment upon arriving in New York. I called Delta and they tried to tell me that it was due to weather problems. This had not been indicated to me from the beginning this applies to all three of my tickets that I purchase with Delta for the three passengers on my itinerary. They then offered me $50 per person. Which I declined. Although at the airport they gave us €15 each for dinner. They did not offer it to us. I had to ask an upon arriving in New York City the hour was late and we had to get up the next morning very early for work and school, which had not been anticipated and a huge inconvenience

Our rebooked flight was two hours fifty minutes PRIOR to our original flight. And then our layover was so tight that we had to beg to cut the security line and run through the airport. Also, our rebooked flight had downgraded seats/experience, and while they said it was because there weren’t seats left in our originally booked class, k center got on the plane we saw plenty of open seats in our original booking class.

On January 12, 2024 my original Delta/AirFrance flight from DTW to Paris was cancelled due to mechanical issues. I arrived in DTW at 9pm, and was automatically placed on an Air France flight DL136 from DTW to AMS departing at 8:50pm. Flights were delayed due to weather. We boarded the plane late and sat on the airplane from 10pm - 3am, in which time they were loading the bags and waiting for paperwork. After this, we were told the crew timed out and we had to deplane. We were put on flight DL9932 on January 13, 2024. I had to spend the night in the airport, we were not given any accommodations or food vouchers. I also missed 24 hours of my trip. I also ended up missing my flight from Amsterdam to Florence (KL 1641) due to the delay and had to take KL1643. I was supposed to arrive at 2pm on January 13, and didn't arrive til 4pm on January 14.

The delayed flight caused us to miss the connecting flight, forcing us to get rebooked on a flight the next day. So in summary we arrived in Miami a day later. The flights were both under the same booking Virgin Atlantic flight number etc but operated all by delta

While flying to Boston we had an emergency landing in Shannon, Ireland because of mechanical issues. Flight was cancelled and we had to stay over night in Ireland taking another flight to Boston the next morning. Delta paid for hotel and food but we lost a day of work and had to have our house/pet sitter stay another night. my son lost a day of school. we landed in Boston about 26 hours late. we then had to change our bus tickets to get a bus home from the airport. A very bad experience and lost an entire day of work!

At 12am I received a email stating my flight had been changed from 915am to 215pm. Then that 215pm flight was canceled by 10am. No additional options to Boston was given

I landed in a different terminal then my flight, and needed to get to terminal D1, the only way to get there was with the airport bus, the line was with 300+ people and there were no buses, alot of people missed their flights. I had to pay for hotel and cancel my previous one so i would like a compensation in the same amount, i can provide receipts from both hotels.

A passenger was kicked out of the plane and they had to take out the baggage which took around 40 minutes. I was scheduled to have my connecting flight but by the time we landed in Paris, I only had 2 minutes to get off the plane and arrive to the gate. They then decided to put me on a flight which was supposed to depart 4 hours late, but it also had a delay of around 2 hours. I ended up landing in Berlin at 21 rather than the supposed 14:50. For this problem they provided me with 15 euros to use in the airport restaurants, only after I went to the desk to complain. I had an hotel booked and I was supposed to check in by 20.
