As with all airlines, Kuwait Airways is just as susceptible to the many factors that cause flight disruptions. But when delays and cancellations are caused by something within their control, you as a passenger may be able to claim money from them as a form of repayment for the inconvenience.

Kuwait Airways Flight Delay Compensation
Flight delays have become a regular feature of air travel, but thanks to the UK and EU regulations, airlines will have to step up and help you in more ways than one. What you get from Kuwait Airways will depend largely on how long you’re left waiting at the airport as how long you’re actually delayed in arriving at your final destination.
How much you get in compensation depends on how many hours you arrive late plus the distance you’ve had to travel combined with whether or not your flight was affected by extraordinary circumstances.
Delay of at least 2 hours: Kuwait Airways must provide care assistance. This will include:
- Access to communication
- Free meals and refreshments
Delay of 3 hours or more: If your delay wasn’t caused by extraordinary circumstances, then you are eligible for cash compensation if you arrived 3 hours late to your final destination.
Delay of 5 hours or more: In this case, you will be able to receive the compensation above as well as the option of a ticket refund and cash compensation.
Airlines might not be forthcoming in offering you care assistance, so never be afraid to request these things when you’re affected by flight delays.

Kuwait Airways Cancelled Flight Compensation
Cancelled flights are less common than delays, but they still occur with some regularity. Thankfully for passengers, EU and UK regulations require all airlines departing from these regions to assist their passengers in getting to where they need to go. In addition to this, they must also provide you with care and financial compensation depending on the situation.
- Flights cancelled withmore than 2-weeks notice are not eligible for cash compensation.
- Flights cancelled with less than 2-weeks notice are eligible for monetary compensation if Kuwait Airways is at fault. Passengers are also entitled to their choice of a full ticket refund or the ability to rebook their flight without additional fees.
- If your flight is cancelled with very little notice and you’re already at the airport, then you again have the option of rebooking or getting a refund. Then, if you have to wait 2 hours or more, the airline must give you care and assistance.
- If you have to wait until the next day for your flight, then ask for overnight hotel accommodation and transport there and back. If you aren’t given vouchers, then remember to keep your receipts for later reimbursement.
Denied Boarding & Missed Connections
Passengers can be denied boarding when Kuwait Airways overbooks flights. When this happens, they are required by law to provide you with compensation. You should be offered a choice of a rescheduled flight or a refund. You will also get the same care and assistance offered depending on how long you have to wait for your new departure. Finally, you will also get cash compensation. The amount you receive will be based on the length of your delay and the distance of your flight.
For those who miss a connecting flight, compensation will be the same as what we outlined in the delays section above. It’s important to note that the missed connection must be part of the same booking in order to receive compensation.
We assume all legal costs
All you have to do is submit the application and wait for the compensation to be received.
Kuwait Airways Financial Compensation: How Much Can You Get
The precise amount of cash compensation you get depends on two factors:
- The amount of time you’re delayed at your final destination
- The overall distance of your flight.

My journey from AMS to NEW DELHI was disrupted because of delay in Flight KU128. Because of this delay, I arrived at New Delhi 12+ hours late than I supposed to. I was not given any explanation by the airline causing the delay. I had domestic connecting flights from New Delhi to Bengaluru and Bengaluru to Mangalore (iternary uploaded). I missed both of these flights because of my late arrival at New Delhi. I had to rebook my flights costing me upto 232 Euros (proof attached). Overall I arrived at my final destination around 1 day late which affected my health and I fell ill.
