No respect for Passenger rights

We had a flight from Madrid to Cape Town with a layover in Turkey. It was one booking with two passengers. When we landed in Turkey our connecting flight were delayed. After getting back we put in a passenger claim as per the Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 since the delay were more than 3 hours at destination which gives passengers a right of EUR600 per passenger payout. First they delayed their replies so much that we are now in January second they insisted that Article 7(2) applies claiming that we are only entitled to EUR300 per passenger – this is wrong as the flight were delayed and not rerouted. Now they refuse to pay the second passenger because they claim the signatures does not match. Don’t ever book with them… they have no respect for their passengers.

Flight TK 1394 on Oct 19, 2024 from Catania to Istanbul was delayed 2 1/2 hours causing my connecting flight TK 0203 from Istanbul to Seattle to be rescheduled by Turkish Airlines to the following day. I got a hotel room for the night.

Warning to Passengers: Scam by...

Warning to Passengers: Scam by Turkish Airlines supervisor ( Mike, I don’t know his Turkish name) at Newark Airport I am a frequent flyer and a loyal Air Canada member, which entitles me to one complimentary 23kg checked bag and a 7kg carry-on with every ticket. This allowance consistently applies even when connecting with other airlines like United, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Emirates. On October 15th, I booked a journey from Toronto to Istanbul, connecting through Newark, where I was to switch from Air Canada to Turkish Airlines. I checked in with Air Canada in Toronto, received my luggage tags, and was assured that my bags would be automatically transferred to Turkish Airlines at Newark for my final destination in Istanbul. Upon arriving in Newark, TSA informed me that I needed a paper boarding pass from Turkish Airlines, so I approached their counter to retrieve it. At the Turkish Airlines counter, I encountered an employee who introduced himself as “Mike” (the individual in the attached photo). When I requested my boarding pass, he demanded an additional payment for checked luggage, insisting my ticket did not include any baggage allowance. I explained my Air Canada membership privileges, showing my luggage tags as proof, and clarified that my bags were already checked through to Istanbul. His response was aggressive and dismissive, saying my loyalty status with Air Canada meant nothing to him. He rudely told me, “Pay the fee or miss your flight.” In my attempts to resolve this misunderstanding, I called Air Canada’s support center. The Air Canada representative even spoke directly to “Mike,” explaining my baggage allowance and advising him to honor the inter-airline baggage agreement. Shockingly, he told the Air Canada representative, “I don’t care about the passenger. Either he pays, or he loses the flight.” The Air Canada representative was astonished at his hostile attitude and lack of professionalism. To make matters worse, “Mike” intentionally offloaded my luggage from the plane to pressure me further. This delay caused considerable stress as I watched him raise his voice, threaten me, and continue to escalate the situation. When I asked for his last name, he mockingly responded with an offensive slur, identifying himself as a “motherfucker” and showing utter contempt for me as a passenger. He further threatened to call the police if I didn’t comply, suggesting he would fabricate a report to have me detained. I ultimately felt forced to pay the $165 to avoid further conflict and ensure I didn’t miss my flight. What disturbed me even more was overhearing him tell his colleagues that this behavior was a tactic to extract extra money from unsuspecting passengers, claiming it would help his standing in the company. This incident left me feeling exploited, unsafe, and deeply disrespected. To fellow travelers: please be cautious when dealing with Turkish Airlines, especially at Newark Airport. The behavior I witnessed and endured was not only unprofessional but also alarming and unethical. I have reported this incident to Air Canada, who encouraged me to share this experience publicly. I hope Turkish Airlines will address this situation and take measures to prevent similar treatment of other passengers.

I was on my way back...

I was on my way back home to Osaka Kansai from Japan and my flight from Malaga was delayed which ended up making me miss my connecting flight. They put me on a flight 24 hours later and and gave me a hotel but I did not receive my big suitcase back. I ended up missing a days work so it cost me an additional 250 euros.

My bag was never put on the flight from Munich. I stayed in Istanbul for three days and my bag arrived the morning that I was leaving. The Airline offered NOTHING. My lap top computer was in my bag so I was unable to work. It was a nightmare.

The flight was scheduled...

The flight was scheduled to depart at 11.30am but kept getting delayed an hour and then another hour and so on, the second time they told us it was due to technical issues and we boarded at 15.00pm and actually departed near 15.30pm, I had a scheduled transfer to the hotel at 6pm however this had to be cancelled which caused a lot of inconvenience.
