Barcelona flight was delayed and...

Barcelona flight was delayed and I missed my connecting flight in Washington, DC, therefore missing my next connecting flight in Denver, CO. I was rerouted from Washington, DC to San Francisco. I was not offered a hotel or meals and I spent the night trying to sleep on the floor at the San Francisco Airport, flying out of SF to MFR the morning of October 6th. It was a horrible experience. I am 72 years old, I was exhausted and sick by the time I got home.

In the morning leaving Palermo,...

In the morning leaving Palermo, the flight kept getting delayed. Communication about the delay was sparse, but I understand that it was apparently due to a maintenance issue. The delay was not weather related (beautiful clear skies that morning). We landed in Newark and the plane doors opened at 5:26 pm local time. 3 hours and 11 minute late. My connecting flight from Newark to Vancouver depart before I arrived at 4:59 pm. I missed that connection. I was rebooked for the following day. United provided me with a voucher for a hotel and meals. I arrived in Vancouver the following day 17 hours 58 minutes later than my original schedule. This was disruptive to me as I was a day late returning to work. I lost a day of wages at work. If I had known that my travel would take almost 18 hours extra, I would have purchased a cheaper flight and saved some money. United Airlines did not deliver the service they had sold to me.

Missed our next flight and destination

The flight from MUC to DENVER was delayed. We missed our connection flight to MSP and had to stay a night in Denver. Unfortunately, the airline could not help us at that point and told us to reach out after we landed in MSP.

Our flight was redirected to...

Our flight was redirected to Boston due to the toilets not being emptied before we boarded. We were on the plane for 11 hours due to this. Arriving in Chicago at around 16.30 instead of 14.10. Then in the line for immigration for over an hour! It was an uncomfortable flight due to the need to use the toilet by all four passengers. The smell, and the fact there were people queuing constantly causing disruption. No peace at all on flight. The captain apologised but that didn’t solve our uncomfortable flight. No extra care was provided. We paid alot of money to fly direct for the comfort and a speedy trip. This did not happen. We ended up missing an arrival family reunion due to this… family members we hadn’t seen for years had to leave before we arrived! This is not the first time I have had disruption flying with united. Last September my direct flight was cancelled and I ended up flying via Frankfurt, I had a panick attack, had to run through Frankfurt airport to get a connection flight and arrived in Chicago 6 hours later than schecualed.

I was suppose to be in Washington DC for only a day and half for my work trip and now I lost my half day and leaves me with only one day of business. People who were suppose to pick me up from the airport cannot since I am late and that was additional expense.

Buyer Beware... Opportunity Makes Thieves.

My name is Jen Carlisle. I am an office manager for a man named Harry Woodward, who had over $3,000 in flight credits through United. Due to the death of his wife, a heart attack, grieving, and ongoing health concerns, he was unable to utilize his credits and they refused to give a refund or extend the flight credits. He originally paid $6,000 for tickets he was unable to use and they absolutely refused to work with us. I have spent probably about 30 hours on this ridiculousness, and Harry has now not only lost his wife and some of his health but also is out $6,000. If you were to include how much time I have spent on this, he's out $7,500. Mind you this was after he had been told that these credits he had were good until the first of the year of 2026 several months ago. It feels like discrimination and taking advantage of people. It feels like a greedy money-grab, especially after all of the work and time put into trying to scramble to save his credits after learning they were not, in fact, good until next year, and I attempted the refund request as well as an extension request. I doubt he will ever fly United again, and he travels quite a lot and often with other people who are members of the build team or other staff. This is completely unfair to a man who doesn't deserve to be screwed over like this, and honestly, the next time I travel and anytime travel comes up in conversation, I now tell everyone that United steals their customers' money because that is exactly what this situation has felt like. DO NOT recommend. Their customer service values and statements are all LIES, and this was proven to me over the last two weeks while dealing with this stressful and overly complicated process of trying to get him at least something for his $6,000 initial investment, and they just all kept making excuses as to why they "can't," give a refund, which is ridiculous. I think United is too big for their britches, so to speak. Anytime an organization or corporation gets too big, corruption and greed run rampant, and this is what United is a prime example of. They pick and choose which customers to highlight on their site and obviously we are not the only ones who have had a bad experience because their overall star rating here is less than two stars. No wonder. While it's not surprising, it is EXTREMELY disappointing and has caused us a LOT of grief. So, buyer beware... United might just take your money and run.

Our experiences for this flight...

Our experiences for this flight were very unpleasant and tiring after an already long day. As the crew did final flight checks, a mechanical deficiency was discovered. What followed were Troubleshooting, Part Replacement , Testing, and and finally "We give up!" The entire passenger group departed to an adjacent Gate and were advised that a replacement aircraft would be prepared for flight and all existing Boarding Passes would be used for re-entry onto the substitute aircraft. All this was in excess of three (3) hours
