No ski-/snowboard luggage with SAS

I booked a trip at the SAS website to… I booked a trip at the SAS website to go snowboarding, from Trondheim (Norway) to Calgary (Canada). But SAS can not help me to get my boardbag booked all the way, only to Newark (USA). They told me to contact their partner West Jet. West Jet refused to help me and told me to contact SAS at the airport while travelling. SAS however says they can not add any bag on an other companies flights, not even when i am travelling.

The service

What a deception, I expressed choosing a short flight with one stop, even though it is more expensive. As a result, the first flight is late, so we miss the connection by 10 minutes. In addition, we travel with Lufthansa and Air Dolomiti, so we do not receive any miles. The answer is that the second flight cannot wait. But on the return flight, we have to wait for all the luggage to be loaded. So it is more important to wait for the luggage than to wait for the passengers. So I pay more for less service

Flight delay

Our delayed flight ruined our trip, we lost our baggage. In over all our experience was terrible, it was feeling that nobody cares, was really hard to find SAS service desk, we circled around airport, glad that one polish girl at SAS at Munich helped with getting hotel and booked flight for us.

Extremely Disappointed with SAS...

Extremely Disappointed with SAS Airlines (Flight SK548) • Accidentally checked in two laptops in two separate bags at Amsterdam Airport. • Realized the mistake within 5 minutes and immediately informed SAS staff. • SAS personnel misinformed us multiple times: • First directed us to a specific gate to retrieve luggage—turned out to be false. • Then assured us at the counter that luggage would be offloaded at the boarding gate—again, untrue. • At the gate, SAS staff claimed luggage was pulled and told us to board. • Upon arrival in Copenhagen, luggage never arrived; waited 30+ minutes before being told it was still in Amsterdam. • SAS ground staff in Copenhagen were unaware and unhelpful. • Two days later, only one of the three bags arrived. • Was told both were en route—but later revealed the second was still in Amsterdam. • Now forced to pay out of pocket and return to Amsterdam to retrieve it myself. • Entire travel plans disrupted due to SAS’s poor coordination and lack of accountability. Our mistake was minor—but SAS’s mishandling turned it into a major travel disaster. Extremely poor customer service. Never again!

Kind of hassle, they damaged...

Kind of hassle, they damaged me the luggage, then when i did the claim. They asked for the luggage invoice (luckily I have even that this is normally not needed) and for a certificate of reparation (which is their liability, fortunately i found an online shop to issue this for a fee). But since then they are doing the dead beetle not to pay the money. Very terrible service compared to other airlines operating in Europe, even low cost airlines don't do this sort of hassle. Lufthansa with a layover is better than this scam. Food also was disgusting.

Monetizing family fear

It is SAS business practice to not offer any free seats to reserve, toting with a family’s anxiety to sit together with the unspoken threat to deny them that necessity when seats would become free 30 hours prior to flight, or when they get auto allocated later. In our case it would cost 600 Euro extra just to lock in seat numbers. Incredibly predatory practice and utterly unacceptable.

The first flight was delayed....

The first flight was delayed. I missed all my the next flights. I stayed one night in Copenhagen. The hotel and a small food voucher was provided by SAS. And only one day later I came to Valencia, my final destination. Some months later I contacted SAS for compensation. SAS replied, that it was Copenhagen airport problem but not the SAS company. SAS didn't pay any compensation.

The plane had a problem...

The plane had a problem with the main power switch. We were let into the plane where they found that there was a problem with the main power switch. We waited 3 hours inside but they were unable to fix it. Then we had to go get our suitcases where we waited another 2 hours. In the meantime we got a replacement flight for the next day via Munich.

Flight from Naples was...

Flight from Naples was delayed due to computer issues (as we were told). Then it was delayed waiting for a bus to transport us to the plane. We had to wait over 30 minutes between the inside to outside door with our special needs 27 yr old where it was warm. Flight was scheduled to take off at 1210. Once on the plane we sat on the tarmac in the plane for over 2 hours waiting to take off. We only had 2 updates from the pilot. He mentioned wind changes. We sat at the end of our row while planes took off all around us. It did not seem windy. We only had 2 updates. We took off at 1710. 5 hours after our scheduled time. This forced us to miss our connecting flight from CPH-ORD. There is only one flight a day, We were then placed on the flight for the next day. We had to stay over in CPH (Copenhagen) over night. SAS provided us with an overnight hotel stay and food vouchers. We had fsmily plans back at home on that we missed.

Our flight from Oslo...

Our flight from Oslo to Athens was cancelled by SAS, they then moved us to flights KL1204 and KL1957 going from Oslo to Kopenhagen and then onto Athens. We instead requested to be put on an earlier flight if possible. Due to the change in flight details we were forced to stay longer than expected and booked into a nearby airport hotel as there was now over a 12hr layover between our flights. Please note that we have run into some bad luck lately and the passports we traveled on to Athens with have since been stolen meaning we have had to cancel them at get emergency passports from the consulate. Unsure if this effects our claim.
