Flight left 20 minutes late from Barcelona, no reason was given. Flight arrived over an hour late, was told by pilot was due to taking a longer route to avoid turbulence. Just missed connection (actually made it in time but AA refused to take my checked in bag) so had to take next flight causing overall delay of 4+ hours. When I asked reason Barcelona to Miami flight had been delayed was initially told avoid a space shuttle launch and then told by another employee "operational issues". No care was provided.
