the first leg from LHR to Changi. we arrived 20 minutes prior to our connecting flight to Bali, but the flight was not held for us
The Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore diverted to Frankfurt, Germany due to technical issues. This led to a number of changed flights and delays and meant I arrived in Brisbane almost 40 hours later than I should have. In Frankfurt we were sent to hotels as our replacement flight wouldn't be available until the following afternoon. Upon arrival in Singapore I had a 9 hour layover which I was sent to another hotel which was more inconvenient than anything as the hotel was a 40 minute drive from the airport. They were unable to put me on another direct Singapore to Brisbane flight and I ended up flying Singapore to Sydney (on British Airlines) and then Sydney to Brisbane (on Virgin). When we were close to landing in Sydney I was told that I had been moved onto a later flight to Brisbane as it was looking like I wasn't going to make the 9am Virgin flight I had originally been put on. This new flight was at 8pm on Jetstar which is an unacceptably long layover (11 hours) especially when I shouldn't have had to go through Sydney at all. After speaking to customer service at both Virgin and Jetstar, Jetstar were able to move me onto an earlier flight at about 10am.
