In this article, we’ll lay out what you need to know about your entitlements if you have a delay, cancellation or other flight disruption with Air Dolomiti. Air Dolomiti Flight Delays
No matter how hard you try to avoid them, flight delays are a constant source of grief for travellers. While there isn’t much that can be done to stop you from experiencing delays, you’ll be pleased to know that if you’re departing from or arriving at an EU or UK airport, you can get compensation to soften the blow.
Thanks to the rules found in EU and UK regulations (EU261 and UK 261 respectively), airlines like Air Dolomiti are required to help you out by providing the following based on the duration of your delay.
Delays lasting 2 or more hours: Food, refreshments, and free access to communication.
Delays lasting 3 or more hours: If you arrive 3 or more hours late at your final stop, then you may be poised to collect financial compensation as long as the carrier could have prevented the delay.
Delays lasting 5 hours or more: Air Dolomiti must give you a choice of a ticket refund or rebooking. Cash compensation in addition to this is also a possibility if extraordinary circumstances didn’t cause the delay.
Length of Delay | Compensation & Entitlements |
2+ hour delays | Meals, refreshments, and access to communication |
3+ hour delays | Cash compensation if the airline is at fault |
5+ hour delays | Option of rebooking or refund + potential cash compensation |

Air Dolomiti Flight Cancellations
If your flight is cancelled, you could get cash compensated if:
- You’re given under 2 weeks notice and
- The airline is to blame for the cancellation
Conversely, if you’re given more than 2-weeks notice, then you won’t be compensated, but you will still get a new flight or a full refund. If you opt for a new flight and have to wait for 2 hours or more for departure, you’re entitled to care and assistance. Free overnight accommodation and transport are also entitlements in cases where your new flight departs the next day.

Air Dolomiti Flight Refund policy
A flight compensation and a refund are two different things. Regulations allow you to receive both: a cancellation refund and compensation.
In case of a cancellation, an airline will try to re-book you on the similar flight, but if that becomes impossible, a cancellation refund will be a full cash refund. Generally, your claim would succeed, providing there were no extraordinary circumstances beyond airline control.
If Air Dolomiti cancels your flight to extraordinary circumstances (such as Covid travel restrictions or a serious illness) and you were offered no replacement flight, you can obtain a ticket refund in full, since your flights booked were not available.
Types of ticket refunds: A full refund must be in cash or credit. Vouchers are allowed only if you specifically agree to it. We do not recommend accepting vouchers due to short expiry dates and potential restrictions on redemption.
Note: If Air Dolomiti offers a replacement flight with approximately the same arrival time and you decide not to take it, there is a possibility of you losing the right to get both compensation and a ticket refund.
Rule of thumb: you can generally reject alternative flights and receive a refund in full, if a new replacement flight arrives 3+ hours later from your initial scheduled arrival time.
